The EcoGlow Group Ltd

It's been a good 6 months since EcoGlow did a big install at our property. I'm really impressed with everyone that was here for the install and most things went well, however I wanted to leave a review to let people know that they have a bit of a communication and management issue. EcoGlow seems to rush their staff quite a lot, meaning we had a lot of unnecessary cut corners. About half of our install did not go as per what was agreed on either, which was a nice surprise. We had installations of different size and placement than what was expected. And lastly, EcoGlow does still owe us a £200+ plus debt, not a huge amount but puts into question if trusting them is wise. These are just my experiences, I've done my best to contact them many times about this without any solution, and I've accepted that I'll need to live with an imperfect experience. I used EcoGlow Group Ltd the first time to replace the old Electric Storage heaters, Hot WaterTank, Trickle Vents and Mechanical Extract Ventilation. They did a very professional job in good time, I would recommend them to my friends. EcoGlow UK fitted our boiler approximately 18 months ago. Initially I had been very happy with the team. The team who visited were on time and efficient. However, there has been no end of problems ever since. We noticed the boiler was not maintaining pressure. We called and someone came out to take a look. He walked into the house, refused to take a look at the boiler and informed us there was a leak somewhere in the house and just to wait for it to emerge. A few weeks later another person visited and they again refused to look at the boiler stating it's a leak probably under the house. He then offered to install an automatic top up to prevent the boiler losing pressure (at a cost of around £300). I didn't pursue this as it only masks the problem rather than solving it. I have later found out that this advice would have also led to voiding the warranty on the boiler. We invested in a leak detection company. During their work they queried if we were aware that a hole had been left in the roof from the work completed by EcoGlow. Additionally, he indicated the pipe work that had been done was to minimum industry standards "quick plumbing." I contacted EcoGlow to ask them to resolve these issues. I had a phone call from the owner (the second person to visit) who initially stated that I had the wrong company (interesting considering the response to the other poor review they have had). He did send someone out albeit reluctantly. We are in a particularly cold part of our area due to the local topography. The recent cold snap has led to the condensing pipe freezing. I have had another plumber out to take a look and again there was little positive to say about the pipe work. The pipes are narrower than what is recommended and they take the shortest route of the property, therefore leaving a long length to be exposed to the elements. Ultimately the quality of the work and the customer care has been poor and has led me to leave this review.

Please be cautious regarding EcoGlow quotes. Ours was substantially inflated and included several items that they hadn't even looked at. Deliberate, maybe/maybe not? They came to service our underfloor heating, specifically excluding the central heating system. They discussed potential upgrades. However, their follow-up quote included expensive central heating items which, of course, they had not even looked at. I discussed this with them and they suggested that "maybe an off the shelf quote hed been used" and promised a modified quote, which has never been forthcoming. I have since discussed the situation with their Managing Director, who compounds the poor service by inventing "his truth" and insisting that the system was not working at the time - it was and is still today.

Very poor experience. String of mistakes made by their engineers. Radiator piping put in the wrong place, drilling through new pipe they had fitted, towel rail fitted pretty much touching the ceiling, leaking shower valve, leaking connectors on new radiator piping, shoddily fitted new radiators. We had lots of issues and it was always a struggle to get them around to fix them. Stressful experience.
