When you submit a quote request, we collect:

  • Postcode
  • Town or city
  • Any message you include

Analytics

We use Simple Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. Simple Analytics does not use cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not collect personal data. It is fully UK GDPR compliant without requiring consent.

How We Use Your Data

Quote Requests

When you submit a quote request, you are asking to be contacted by MCS-certified solar panel installers. To deliver this service, we pass your contact details to installers who serve your area so they can provide you with a quote. This is the core purpose of our service: connecting homeowners with qualified installers.

We may also use your email to:

  • Confirm receipt of your quote request
  • Send helpful information about solar panels (if you opt in)

Who We Share Data With

  • Solar installers (lead sharing): Your quote request details are provided to up to four MCS-certified installers in your area so they can contact you with a quote. Installers pay us a fee to receive these leads — this is how our service is funded and how you receive quotes at no cost. By submitting the form, you consent to this sharing.
  • Service providers: We use Mailgun for email delivery, Twilio for SMS verification, Stripe for installer payments, and MongoDB for data storage. These providers process data on our behalf under GDPR-compliant agreements.

We do not sell your data for advertising, marketing lists, or any purpose other than the quote-matching service described above.

Your Rights (UK GDPR)

Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Rectification: Ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure: Ask us to delete your data
  • Restriction: Ask us to limit how we use your data
  • Portability: Request your data in a portable format
  • Object: Object to processing of your data

Data Retention

We retain quote request data for up to 2 years to handle any follow-up queries. After this period, data is deleted unless you have an ongoing relationship with us or an installer.

We do not use tracking cookies. Simple Analytics is cookie-free. If you log in to a dashboard area, we use a session cookie to keep you logged in. This is essential for the service to function and does not require consent.

Children

Our service is for homeowners aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
