The process of getting the quote and installing was good. However I was called to give them a five star review before the installation was complete and in fact the solar panels did not work initially. The engineer then came back and got them working. The main reason for the 1 star review is that we are now 2 months down the line from our installation date and they still have not taken the scaffolding down despite multiple phone calls and emails

Our consultation with Brian was brilliant, no hard sell whatsoever, really down to earth and very informative. We were called the next day to book our installation in for the following Thursday. Scaffolders arrived on the Wednesday, as we were informed and were very friendly and polite and erected the scaffolding quickly. Installation took place as promised and the engineers all arrived on time and were very professional. Installation was completed to a very high standard. Very tidy job. Overall support has been excellent and I can’t fault Thermohome in any way at all. I’ve had a couple of questions since installation and both Brian and Pete responded immediately. We are addicted to the App and watching what’s happening with our system (which sounds very sad!) and even though it’s November we are surprised how quickly our panels charge the battery and it’s always good to see zero watts coming from the grid. Would definitely recommend. Thank you so much. We are looking forward to saving money on our electric now!! Very happy 😃

Thermohome happened to be on our estate to advertise what they had to offer. Rather conveniently, we'd already had 3 other quotes for a variety of solar systems over the past 12 months, so was keen to get a quote. The sales chap took our details and passed them onto Brian, the system designer. What sold us about Thermohome was the Hometree financing system, looking at the net present value over a 25 year lifespan, during which time all of our equipment will be warrantied for. Our system was expected to be quite expensive, given that we wanted a potential 7kW yield, necessisating a 14 panel system. We were quite content with the technology being offered which was based around a 10kWh Fox ESS batterry. Brian was thoroughly helpful throughout the consultation, covering potential energy yield, energy savings and finance options. The consultation lasted about 2 hours, which included surveys of the property, access and cable runs and system design, as well as getting the hometree finance set up. The final system design would be confirmed on the day; 3x5 grid or a 2x7 array, once the roof measurements were confimed upon gaining better access. The system was installed within 7 days - The scaffolding was erected after 5 days, only waiting 2 additional days before the panels and electrical equipment arrived. We both work from home, so could easily accomodate. On the day of the installation, the poor courier arrived promptly, but couldn't unload the equipment because the installers were stuck in Bristol traffic - definitely needed a 4 man crew for unloading. A quick call to Brian reassured us (and the courier) that the guys were on their way. Upon arrival, the gang confirmed that we'd be going for a 2x7 array, so advised Brian and Hometree to change the financing agreement before we could authorise the install. Installation of the solar frames (which included the nesting bird guards), PV panels, cable run, inverter and battery was conducted in 3 hours. By 12:30, our system was up and running, with the electrican showing us how to configure the Fox ESS system to monitor and configure usage. Simple and straightforward. All of the necessary conformity certificates; MCS, EPVS and G99 were delivered the next day digitally, meaning that we were able to submit all of the necessary paperwork to apply for an SEG scheme with our current energy supplier. NB - the DNO and MPAN is out of the remit of Thermo Home, but there's plenty of useful guides out there. We've had the system installed for less than 20 days and can confidently say that the system has enough capacity reserve to cater for a a 4 bed, 4 person, work-from-home use case. Until we get our SEG up and running, we've been using the sunny days to charge our EV using the granny charger (Thermohome didn't touch the existing 7.2kW EV charger circuit, so its usage is not factored in by the inverter/grid gate). Sunny days we've been generating 24kWh, althoug during a dark storm, it got down as low as only 6kWh. It pays to monitor the weather so that you can charge your 10kWh battery using the cheaper overnight rates. Overall, we've been very impressed with the service, communication and swiftness of the system. It's also quite a stealthy install that doesn't spoil the frontal aspect of the house. It transpires that a work colleague also had a Thermohome system installed in their house too and had the same feedback. We've also recommended Thermohome and Brian to our neighours - Admittedly, close friends got a quote from them for their system, but upon hearing our positive feedback, immediatedly went ahead with the process, since it suited their use case too. Only criticism was that the scaffolding was up for a week longer than necessary. However, I wouldn't want anybody working at height during a week of stormy weather. so again, force majeure. Just be flexible with your schedules and temper your expectations, because the end result is worth it (well for us it was)

Good communication throughout, reasonable pricing and honoured upgrade to battery and inverter when issue identified with original. Quick lead times and friendly service. Install went as planned however I expected a more professional service by the installers on the day.

Reliable and very professional service

Honestly, this was some of the best customer service I’ve had in a long time. From the first interaction, it just felt easy. No rushing, no canned responses, no feeling like I was a problem they needed to get rid of. They actually listened. That alone already puts them ahead of most places. Every question I had was answered clearly, and when something needed fixing, it was handled quickly and without any back and forth. You can tell they care about doing things right, not just closing a ticket. If great customer service still matters to you, this is what it should look like. Five stars, without hesitation.
