This place on the sea front has a really nice cafe inside which serves a selection of teas, coffees, cold drinks and pastries plus sweet and savoury snacks. The coffee was very good and I am told the sausage sandwiches are superb, as well as being very reasonably priced The only downside is it’s quite small however if it’s a nice day there is seating outside Definitely worth a visit!!

I initially contacted Northern Renewables for a quote for a solar panel and battery installation, but before going ahead I asked for some advice about a room in our newly purchased house that was noticeably colder than the rest of the property. They arranged for Jamie to visit and carry out a thermal imaging survey. He quickly identified the issue and gave practical, sensible advice on how to resolve it without major work or expense. After a quick trip to a well-known DIY store and fitting a radiator around four times the size, the room now heats perfectly. Without that expert guidance I could easily have wasted a lot of money chasing the wrong solution. That experience made choosing Northern Renewables for the solar installation an easy decision. Having a knowledgeable, trustworthy local firm mattered to me, and they delivered throughout the whole process. The installation itself went very smoothly — Tracey and Rachel kept me well informed with scheduling and updates, scaffolding arrived the day before, the system was installed within a day and a half, and Dan took the time to explain everything clearly once it was up and running. The scaffolding was removed promptly afterwards — the whole process felt efficient and well organised. After running the system for a month (Jan-Feb), it’s clear the specification was spot-on for our usage. The battery capacity feels very well balanced — not oversized and wasteful, but large enough to cover almost everything we use day-to-day. It only really runs down in exceptional circumstances, such as heavy cooking on a poor solar day, and even then we’ve easily adapted by shifting things like washing or dishwashing to the day before or after. It’s genuinely changed how we think about and manage our electricity use. Overall, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Northern Renewables — knowledgeable, responsive, and professional throughout.

Northern Renewables’ team were very professional and accommodating, answering all my queries at the survey before installation of the solar panels and batteries. All work was done on time, cleanly, safely and in budget; the installation crew were great to deal with. There have been no operational issues. I highly recommend this company and would use them again.
