We have a large, Victorian, double fronted, detached, home with a with a separate Spa &Swimming Pool Complex and an additional self-contained Granny Flat/Annex. We researched companies who might provide us with Air Heat-source pumps and commissioned 3 competitive quotes. We are subscribers to Which Magazine and Which recommended Ipsum Renewables, who were local to us.(There would appear to be a number of less professional and less knowledgeable companies out there, so be careful.) From start to finish, Ipsum provided by far the most professional service of any of the companies that we contacted, and their Directors involved themselves in the quoting, specification and installation process, providing us with additional confidence in their company. Ipsum undertook the Government BUS grant application (Boiler Upgrade System) which paid around 50% of the total costs of upgrading. We had 10 Ipsum Heating Engineers and 5 large Vans, at the house every day for 5 full days, (and we had to rely on electric heaters meanwhile, whilst our old gas boiler was removed and replaced and there was a bit of redecorating and joinery to be done after they had finished, but nothing that we had not been forewarned of.) The whole the team was friendly and helpful and everyone was busy all of the time. We had to replace 18 radiators and have 3 Heat Pumps in total, but the house is now toasty warm, 24/7, with constant and plentiful hot water at a sensible running cost. The guys have been back to see us since installing and they have helped us to re-programme our electricity use (remotely and in person,) to make best use of the best Octopus money-saving tariffs. Many thanks to everyone at Ipsum. I would have no hesitation in recommending Ipsum to anyone who wants a professional and effective boiler replacement system.

The team at Ipsum Renewables have been great throughout the installation of our new air source heat pump. We live in a small village without gas so many of the houses are reliant on oil tanks still. We wanted to completely remove the old boiler system and oil tank, and switch to fully electric with the air source heat pump. We only have a relatively small, end-of-terrace, 3-bed house, with a small garden (so it was going to be difficult finding the right place for the heat pump to go). Fortunately the Ipsum team were able to fit the heat pump mounted on the outdoor wall above our driveway, so we didn't lose any garden space (which was a great bonus)! The Ipsum team sorted our EPC and heat loss assessment which indicated precisely what radiator size each room would require, and overall how much money the system upgrade would save us approximately over the year, so this was really useful. It took 3 days for the full installation, which included full removal of the old boiler system, 7 radiators replaced, new water tank in the airing cupboard, and the installation of the air source heat pump. Considering I work from home, the team were great at making sure they left the house neat at the end of each day, and they were very considerate about letting me know when they would need to turn off the water / electrics. Really friendly team and they work very hard! Cannot fault their skills or expertise - looked like a really tricky job but they definitely knew what they were doing! They fitted smart hubs around the home which are very cool - showed me how to work them and how to set the water / room temperature and times. In terms of cost, the overall price was very reasonable considering all that needed doing. The Ipsum team were great at sorting all the paperwork to request the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) Grant on my behalf - this covered £7,500 of the cost for me (which is the main reason we were able to afford to do this). The remaining cost was about £4,000 so it was still an investment but ultimately, it will save us money in the long-term, and it will hugely improve the EPC rating on the house (which prior to the upgrade was rated D). To summarise - skilled & friendly team, reasonable prices, and a great end result. We are very happy with the upgrade - it is cheaper for us to leave the heating on all day now!! Very happy :)

I recently had an amazing Valiant ASHP installation from Ipsum. Their team are some of the loveliest people you could meet and they’re really helpful. I received around 12 quotes in total and while Ipsum wasn’t the cheapest (but very reasonable), they gave me the vibe that they knew what they were doing. This was proven at the design stage (and even more once they came to install the system). The install was done to a high level of quality (see images). The team managed to install the ASHP, the cylinder, replace 4 radiators and install two new ones, in 3 days! The attention to detail was incredible. There were some hiccups (such a fault Vaillant sensor), but the aftercare was spot on. I think this is the most important as some companies would take the BUS grant and not help, so I really appreciated the aftercare. I’ll be getting my ASHP serviced by Ipsum going forward and when I decide to install solar panels, they’ll be my go to!

As a Chartered Aerosystems Engineer of some years standing, I know a little about Quality and Craftsmanship!! This company recently installed 31 solar panels, 16Kw battery storage, 19 radiator changes and a 16Kw ASHP - all at the same time!! I can only describe their standard of workmanship, care, cleanliness, attitude and work ethic as outstanding. Not only are we delighted with what they have done for us, we are simply overjoyed!! Their pride of workmanship is plain to see and both systems are working beautifully and fully integrated. The commissioning and handover was absolutely first class. I cannot recommend them highly enough, and I don’t say that lightly. Thanks you Ipsum, absolutely top notch!!

Ipsum have just installed an Air Source Heat Pump at our home: the whole job, including replacing all radiators and repiping (to replace microbore) took just 3 and a half days! The four man team did an outstanding job, extremely professional and nothing too much trouble (e.g. replumbing washing machine and redirecting shower drain, etc.). We previously had solar panels and battery storage installed by Ipsum, again to 5* standard, which gave us no hesitation in getting them back for the ASHP. A top quality business: highly recommended.

Had a heat pump fitted to our home in September 25. From initial quote through to finished installation the staff at ipsum were first class. After gaining quotes from several places we decided to go with ipsum due to their reviews, being a local company and the general way they conducted themselves. Installation took a few days and all staff were polite and professional. All mess was cleared away when finished and everything was explained operation wise. When we noticed a slight leak from one of the new radiators they had fitted one of their staff came and sorted it the same day! All in all I would thoroughly recommend their services. New heat pump, solar panels and battery.

From start to finish Ipsum were excellent. They listened to our requirements and modified the proposal several times to match the systems to our house. We chose to have a heat pump with solar panels and a battery and new radiators throughout. Ipsum identified routes for the pipework and cables to minimise the disruption to the house, avoiding external ducts and cables. All the workmen were Ipsum employees; they were friendly, helpful, courteous and thoroughly professional. We are very pleased with the system they have installed and the overall quality of the workmanship. We cannot recommend Ipsum too highly and would use them again without reservation.
