We recently had a Solar Panel Installation completed by Platinum Electrical Solutions and honestly couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Ours was not a straightforward job at all, the house is Grade II listed, with restrictions from the local authority, and we were really keen to find a solution that was highly functional and efficient but also as discreet as possible. In particular, we didn’t want any panels visible from the front, rear, or sides of the property at ground level. Platinum completely understood this requirement and worked around it brilliantly, resulting in the panels being positioned within the roof gully so they are virtually invisible while still performing exactly as needed. After careful scoping and planning, the end result was an in-roof (recessed) solar panel system with associated battery storage, inverter and EPS (emergency power supply). The system blends in perfectly with the property and respects the historic nature of the building, exactly what we were hoping for. The team were fantastic throughout. They worked to the highest standards, were professional, extremely tidy, courteous, and genuinely respectful of the fact they were working on a listed property. They also helped us navigate some of the restrictions and challenges that come with listed buildings, including ensuring there are no visible cables with most of the cabling run underground, which makes a huge difference aesthetically. The results have been amazing, even considering we’re in winter and solar generation is lower. Our electricity bills have dropped from around £10–£12 a day to under £2 a day, which is incredible. This is a real testament to the initial planning and making sure the battery storage was sized correctly from day one. We are extremely happy with the solution and wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend Platinum Electrical Solutions to anyone considering solar especially if you have a tricky or sensitive property.
