He's a lovely guy, and we're impressed with his work and professional friendly manner. When our 30+year old gas boiler finally gave up in October last year, we decided that maybe the time had come to change to a heat pump. We couldn’t afford a new gas boiler, and the generous government grant, plus the move to sustainable energy, made the change very appealing. Four weeks after installation and we are now very happy our boiler broke, although the timing could have been better as we had several very cold weeks. We still don’t know how the heat pump works, it all seems like magic, but we are total converts. No matter how cold it is outside, we are lovely and warm indoors. It is easy to manage the temperature, and we are looking forward to seeing the reduction in our energy bills. For anyone worried about the noise, we struggle to hear it even when standing right next to it. So, we are more than happy to recommend changing to a heat pump. Moving on to installers of heat pumps, we did the right thing and looked into it beforehand. We considered several suppliers, comparing prices and looking at feedback. Some suppliers didn’t even bother coming back to us after we contacted them, others did come back but weren’t to our liking. Martin at MSC Heating though replied within an hour of our initial enquiry. He arranged to come round to do a quick survey and gave us a price within the week. Once we had met Martin, he gave us confidence that this was the company we wanted. It is a small company, but very reliable. The feedback for MSC Heating is very impressive. He has been installing heat pumps for many years and the feedback is consistently high. We have no regrets about choosing this company. The process seemed quite lengthy to us, looking back this was because we were approaching winter and Christmas. However, in reality it took just eight weeks from when we started the process (getting an Energy Performance Certificate) to having the heat pump installed and working. Throughout the process Martin was very helpful, arranging for the heat loss survey to take place, arranging for the government grant, advising us on the most suitable replacement radiators and best of all he made sure we had our heat pump installed before Christmas. The installation was very quick, taking only three days with the electricians coming on day four for just a few hours. During the installation Martin and Jamie were great. They were friendly and good company. They turned up early, but not too early and they always warned us if they planned a long day. Unlike other contractors we had last year for a different job, Martin and Jamie respected our property, and us. It was a real pleasure to have them around. They just got on with their job and the only thing they asked of us was a regular supply of tea and coffee (well they never actually asked, but it was very heavily hinted at!!) which we were of course happy to supply. All in all we cannot recommend a heat pump and MSC Heating highly enough.

Martin and Jamie have just installed a BAXI air source heat pump into a large new barn conversion for us. They were always on the end of the phone during the building design to ensure everything was sized correctly before they came to install the outside pump and fit out the complete plant room. We did alot of research before choosing a firm, but we felt Martin and Jamie (MSC) had an unrivalled ammount of knowlage compared to all the rest. First class job will be using them again.

We are really pleased with our ASHP…

We are really pleased with our ASHP installation. Martin and Jamie are both great workman and great characters. Having work done about your house always has some stress associated with it but they really worked hard and this has been kept to a minimum. I think ours was probably a bit of a tricky installation (old property/extension with different pipework/lot of microbore) but despite the sub zero temps now we are nice and warm. There were a few minor niggles but both Martin and Jamie have been on hand and come back to sort these out promptly. I think its a real credit to them (and any company) that when things aren't right that they have really wanted to get it sorted and have done just that. Thank you to both of you. Thoroughly recommended. PS my wife very pleased and wants to add they have put all the carpets down perfectly!

It's been a month since Martin and Jamie installed our air source heat pump. We have a warm house and not just a few rooms. The entire process, selecting a system and supplier had been arduous until MSC Ltd. MSC Ltd took us through the whole process, obtaining an EPC and organising the most comprehensive heat loss reports I've seen to be carried out. This report detailed not just the heat losses but also estimates of the expected savings and the size and type of ADHP and a recommended make of radiator. Radiators for ASHP systems need to be bigger than those used in traditional systems as the fluid temperature is lower. This also makes them more child friendly. After provisional acceptance of the MSC proposal, Martin made a detailed survey of our house and we agreed on the siting of the ASHP, radiators, new compatible hot water cylinder, space in the electrical distribution box, routing of pipe runs etc. Due to the report and EPC, a full government grant of £7500 for the proposed system was obtained by MSC on our behalf. Starting the system installation, Martin and Jamie arrived on the dot at 08:00hrs having driven to a local hotel the night before. They wasted no time starting work and only stopped for half an hour for lunch before continuing to 19:00hrs. This was typical for the three days required for the installation. MSC arranged for the various items (ASHP, radiators, cylinder, piping) to be delivered the previous week so there were no delays. Martin and Jamie managed to limit the number of surface runs of pipe to a minimum, going under the floorboards in most places. In the exposed places the piping was well hidden by good positioning and enclosing it in unobtrusive trunking. There was some minimal disorganisation during installation but once installed we were without water for only 2 hours. Electrical installation was faster than estimated with the three electricians taking just half a day, with a power outage of just an hour. Prior to leaving, Martin and Jamie vacuumed and tidied throughout and they also ran through the normal operation, setting of the system temperatures with us and covered such things as in-line filter cleaning, etc. As mentioned at the start, we now have a well warmed house. The ASHP and the circulating pump are very quiet. The radiators are warm to the touch and keep the house toasty. External temperature have swung 18ºC since the system started but our internal temperature has not varied more than ½ a degree from the set temperature. Our hot water temperature is nice and consistent. MSC have supplied all the documentation and certification since installation so we know what to do, who to contact and how to refer to parts if we need to discuss them with anybody. Martin and MSC were thoroughly professional in consulting on, specifying and installing first class equipment. We have no reservations in recommending them to anybody wanting ASHP heating systems and we look forward to continuing with MSC for future servicing of our ASHP system.

The work was carried out efficiently and without fuss. It was good value and the replacement heat pump was very good and easy to control. Only down side is the lead in time due to work load, so book early.

We have been impressed with MSC Heating's service from day 1. Installing the ASHP was part of a project involving other work and there were many delays in the planning process. Martin's support was invaluable in the planning and in the official paperwork. There was a hiccup on the part of firm delivering the equipment which Martin resolved quickly and efficiently. From our point of view the actual installation went like a dream, the guys worked hard, explained what they were doing, provided guidance and advice and left the site clean and tidy. Martin installed a Samsung heat pump and new water tank as part of a house renovation at the end of 2022 and provided a professional service throughout. One year later and everything is still running smoothly and efficiently. Throughout the whole process from initial consultation to the final installation, Martin and team provided a high level of service and showed their expertise, providing advice on the best method of installation, helping with all the regulatory paperwork and warranties, and linking us in with other contractors to help with the heat loss survey and external installation (when it transpired we needed a 5 metre tunnel digging under the garden!). He also worked collaboratively with our building contractor to assist with installation alongisde the underfloor heating system, even though that wasn't his job (though in hindsight he was better placed and had more expertise in this area so given the opportunity again we would have arranged for him to do the UHF too). Martin is extremely knowledgeable in his area of expertise, is reasonable priced but also clearly a very in-demand person, but he was always there on-site when he said he would be, was responsive and flexible to our schedule, and never failed to turn up

Martin & Jamie did a great air source heat pump installation for us. They were lovely to have around and worked long days to get everything completed. We felt very confident that they were doing a good job and their years of experience really showed. They have heat pumps in their own homes too, so they are genuinely committed to the technology! The whole operation was seamless with the electrician (Lee Hodgson) following on immediately after the pump and rads were installed. Martin was great at communicating and when the new BUS was announced, did his best to minimise any delays. We would wholeheartedly recommend Martin without hesitation.

Martin and Jamie did an excellent job installing our air source heat pump and radiators including some tricky rerouting of pipe work so that we no longer had radiators fed from pipes buried in the floor. Moving from a Gas Boiler to an Air Source Heat Pump central heating system seemed like a big step. Martin of MSC Heating was tireless in answering all the questions I had. He arranged a visit to a local home where he had carried out an Air Source Heat Pump installation. The new system was installed professionally and is working well. Martin also arranged an upgrade to our Solar System to complement the Heat Pump. Martin always answers telephone calls and provides on going support. I can recommend MSC Heating. We had a hybrid system, consisting of an air source heat pump ( Samsung R32 Generation) and oil boiler, installed by MSC heating to replace our ageing oil boiler. The hybrid system was required due to the size of our home. From the initial proposal through to installation, Martin provided an excellent service, keeping us fully informed and answering all our questions clearly. Martin also supported us in completing the RHI application which went through with no issues. MSC Heating were very professional and did a great job with the installation, ensuring that everything was working as it should be and always clearing up before they left for the day The heat pump has been in place a few months now and is working well with no issues. I have no hesitation in recommending Martin and the team at MSC Heating.

I've waited a few months before writing this review so that I could include a little about the difference having solar, battery and heat pump has made to our household. Around 3 months ago MSC Heating fitted all three systems over the course of a month and a half after having to wait around a year of ordering it (thanks Covid) I had around 4 different quotes before coming across MSC, and what made them stand out was that they actually brought in a wealth more information and honest recommendations about the relatively up and coming systems compared to the others I had spoken to. Most others were talking to salesman with a course on the subject, but MSC actually fitted them, lots of them, and it really showed. The quote was reasonable and included the best current equipment where it mattered. I can highly recommend MSC Heating for their experience with these systems, and for the shear quality in advice and fitting. Both of those are absolutely key in getting a successful ASHP system working well. My house is now continually warm all day and night, I can control almost all of it from my smart phone, and my energy bills have significantly dropped. I couldn’t be happier and look forward to seeing the guys back again next year for the first annual service!
