I am extremely disappointed with how Ford and a Ford Authorised Dealer have handled a serious safety issue with my 5-year-old Ford [S-Max / Galaxy]. I reported a strong burning smell inside the cabin and returned the vehicle to the dealer three separate times. On the first visit I was told no fault was found. On the second and third visits the oil and filter were changed twice, yet the problem was not resolved and the burning smell persisted. I have now received Ford’s recall notification for Emissions Regulatory Program / Recall 24E06, which confirms that affected vehicles may develop cracks in the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). This directly matches the symptoms I repeatedly reported and which were clearly misdiagnosed. Despite Ford stating the vehicle is “safe to drive,” a persistent burning smell inside the cabin raises serious concerns about exhaust fumes entering the vehicle, which I do not consider acceptable — especially in a car of this age. This situation has caused significant stress and inconvenience to both myself and my family. As an ex-serviceman living with PTSD, the lack of proper diagnosis, repeated failed visits, and ongoing safety concerns have been particularly distressing. I am still awaiting proper resolution and accountability. Based on my experience, Ford’s handling of known defects and customer safety concerns has been extremely poor.
We bought a house a few years ago in the town and one of the bathrooms was really tired. I asked around and a lot of people suggested Fords, so I popped up to the showroom and met a really nice guy called Ryan who is the Plumbing/heating Manager.To cut a long story short they did a great job and the bathroom was stunning. The remaining bathroom and WC now needed doing so obviously I go back to see Ryan at Fords. He popped around to look and measure up and within the week we had a plan and sanitary wares chosen. Both rooms went from tired and mediocre to looking amazing! The team of guys that came around (mainly Max and Sam) were all very nice, polite and worked hard all day and cleaned up properly. The job was done in the allotted time and the rooms are transformed. The next project that comes up I will definitely be calling Ryan again. Highly Recommended.
Fords are excellent, been using them for years. they’re very professional and I wouldn’t use anybody else in the area
We had just moved and Steve from Fords came to fit a new combi boiler and worked very hard, also Fords removed a dishwasher and washing machine to replace them with two machines that we brought with us. I would recommend Fords both for their service and work ethic. Needless to say I have used them again to test the electrics of the house and fit a new oven. A one stop shop!
Jake, supported by Sam, visited on 19th December to fit a new woodburning stove. They were incredibly efficient, tidy and cleaned up afterwards, and manhandled the old 140kg stove out of the house and up to their van to dispose of without any complaints at all. They did a fantastic, and fast job! The new stove has made a massive difference to heating. Reasonably priced. Thoroughly recommended.
I had a problem with my hot water cylinder just before the New Year..( hot water pouring out of the ‘pressure relief valve’ ). Fords were able to send an engineer promptly who came, diagnosed the issue and ordered the required part and didn’t leave until he had shown us how to operate it safely before the new part was fitted. The new part was fitted just after the New Year .. and excellent service and great value for money !!
We called Ford's out to deal with a leaking toilet cistern. The engineer who came out was polite, professional and very helpful, and the cost was very reasonable. All round excellent!
Grant fitted new cooker hood which was different from one that had broken. Helped me choose suitable one and fitted it into existing space such that no one would know anything had been disturbed. Cleaned up and vacuumed .a good job done. Thanks.
Don't trust Fords.
Felt the company tried to con me out of £192 for a diagnostic for issue which the car was telling about. i told the booking clerk that i didn't the diagnostic check, he proceeded to tell me, if it wasn't what i think it is there will be additional cost. I asked if i have this service and it turns out I'm correct, will i be reimbursed, which he replied no. The ford cars are well built and I'm more than happy with mine, it's jus the customer service I'm very disappointed with. They also contacted us and i let them know my disappointment with their service, it's been a week now and no reply.
Brilliant place helped me out with my washing machine as it was broke and the nice man who came to fix my machine said he had a spare one around the yard and said would I like to lend the one he’s got until we was able to sort a new one out for myself. He didn’t have to do that, I’d 100% recommend to anyone 😊💯 The man that needs a mention is (GRANT) nice guy 🫡
Fords did a complete refurbishment of our cloakroom and we are very pleased with the result. Duncan kept us informed throughout and the fitters, James and Ben were punctual, tidy and polite.
Fords have just completed an upgrade to our walk-in shower area with new tiling and fitments. All work has been completed on time and to the highest standards. We cannot praise Duncan, George and Ben highly enough for their commitment to doing a great job, with good communication all through the process and excellent care for our home. We are very happy.
My Immersion Heater packed up....felt like the end of the world. One Enquiry to Fords, and the problem was resolved in both a timely and cost effective manner. An economical new cylinder was ordered, installed, the "confused" existing wiring was rectified. The house was immaculately clean and tidy- and James was the ultimate professional. Massive Thank You to James Powell & Fords!
Fords have once again come to my rescue. A new, replacement dishwasher was needed. Grant Miller arrived promptly and carried out the task with professionalism and care. He was friendly and gave an explanation to each step of the work carried out. I am very impressed by the service; from initially contacting Fords, to having the problem assessed and then to having the work completed. Definitely good value for money. I will definitely be recommending them to family and friends.
We'd only been in the house 2 weeks and the fitted washing machine wasn't working properly. Grant one of the plumbers came out, he was courteous, friendly and highly efficient. Once we realised it had to be a new machine, Grant organised everything really quickly for us and it was fitted and working in no time. Highly recommend Fords. From the helpful people in the office to the plumber , great firm keep you informed all the time. Would definitely use them again.
We moved into our property in early August with no hotwater, dodgy electrics and no central heating. The existing bathroom and kitchen were 50 years old and not fit or even safe for purpose. Enter Fords, we first met Bobby and Ryan who took time to review the issues and work out viable and practical solutions. A few days later and we started to meet members of the team, every single one took time and care to help us. The house was a mess, we were spending hours tearing up and removing old carpets and Lino trying to create "clean" spaces. From lead engineers Will and James to the less experienced members of the time they all cared as much as we did, swaping boots for socks and back. The trust we have built with Fords over the last month is hard fought for but they have done it with ease. Every single job they have started has been finished on time, on budget and far exceeds our expectation. Will we work with them again? Without a doubt, next time and everytime. Thank you to everyone that has been part of this project so far.
Fords replaced my old boiler with a new Worcester Bosch combi. Mark provided excellent advice about the product and a competitive quote. The work was carried over two days by the engineer, Dan, who was polite, efficient and kept any disruption to a minimum. My overall experience with Fords was very positive.

If I could give a minus review I would any problem I’ve had with my brand new vehicles it takes 6-8 weeks for fords to look at it then another 2-3 weeks for them to repair any problems never got parts in stock and when they do get them there’s never any one to fit or fix the problem my first tourneo custom I had for 13 1/2 weeks and was only driven for 2 weeks because of the ridiculous waiting time and my second tourneo custom exactly the same 13 weeks to get it looked at 3 weeks to get part and someone to fit it ( still waiting ) £100k worth of cars and they are not fit for the roads but worse still the way fords handle it is disgraceful would never buy from them again would rather go Vauxhall at least their cars and vans stay on the road and you can get them booked in within 1-3 days and back on the road same day you drop it off
I have used Fords for many years. They have kept an old oil fired boiler going and done numerous jobs for me including fitting an electric oven and hob after I had moved to a new address. The workmen are great, work well in an efficient and clean manner and treat customers very well. The office staff on the switchboard are a pleasure to deal with, polite, clearly spoken, always helpful and cheerful. I highly recommend the company.
We had a replacement Worcester Bosch combi boiler fitted. A quotation was provided promptly with good product advice. Installation staff (plumbers, electrician) were professional, courteous, respectful of our property and kept us informed as to what was going on throughout. All work was carefully performed and finished to a very good standard. Overall, a very professional job.

Don’t ever bother going to fords motors in Leigh rd Eastleigh , been there twice now ! Very over priced , and arrogant ,pompous staff ! Won’t ever go again ! Went to Vauxhall dealer further up the road ,very friendly helpful staff , bought a lovely grandland car ,really pleased with price and purchase
Absolutely fabulous throughout the whole (complex) process! Fords have just installed my Air Source Heat Pump heating & water system. From my initial encounter with Mark, I felt totally confident that they were the right people to have in my home. The level of professionalism, courtesy, knowledge & care shown by Henry specifically was outstanding. His calm approach was always reassuring. Giles was also excellent, keeping me entertained with a running commentary of his progress!! They respected my home & my cats, were very polite, cleaned up daily, explained everything & were genuinely lovely to have around. They have all set the bar very high for any future work I have done, and are a real credit to Fords. You’ll regret not booking them!
We have used Fords twice and been very happy with the price and workmanship. This time Fords fitted a new shower unit and bathroom floor at times which worked for us. Manager Ryan provided a personal point of contact throughout and the service was professional and friendly. Highly recommended.

The service experience was excellent
The service experience was excellent. We wanted a new oven, called them and they came out to fit it a week later. The existing built in appliance was removed efficiently and the new oven went straight in to the space all within the hour. Well done and thank you!
Fabulous Customer Service.
I had several dealings with Jack (in the office) and he responded quickly each and every time. Kept me informed as to what was happening and why. An electrician (Mark) was sent out and he couldn't have been more helpful. Lovely company, lovely staff and a fantastic service.

Motability
We got our motability car from fords! They were extremily polite and helpful especially Stephen King the motability specialist he was helpful explained everything in detail to us and nothing was too much trouble. Over the years we have dealt with them they have been courteus and go above and beyond.
NEW CLUTCH AFTER UNDER 52,000 MILES
Had my B-Max for 6 years (65 reg), driven UNDER 52,000 miles & now needs a new Clutch!! I've driven UNDER 10,000 miles per yeah & I DON'T 'ride' the clutch. Can't believe it, I am SHOCKED! I'm beginning NOT to trust their quality. I was going to buy a new car next year but now I'm not sure.
Excellent service always
Excellent service always. Delivered and installed a new TV for my very elderley parents. A few weeks later our fridge freezer decided to 'pack in' overnight. After calling Fords Grant Miller sprang into action and delivered our new fridge freezer the same day. Huge thanks to Grant and to Tom Latham. Great 'can do' attitude and a credit to Fords. Thankyou
Brilliant Service from Start to Finish
Long story short, we have called on Fords numerous times since moving into an older property at the start of November 2020. Although it felt like everything was failing, Fords held our hands and did everything we needed them to swiftly and with care. In the process, we dealt with several of their plumbers, an electrician, their Ops Manager and Managing Director, all of whom were professional and helpful, even including the guy who came out on Boxing Day. We have no hesitation in recommending this firm.
Disappointing service
Disappointing service, the plumber they sent ordered the wrong part leading us to be without hot water for 12 days! Another plumber finally came with the right part and informed us it was a temporary fix as the problem that had caused the valve to go would happen again because of a further problem. He said he would go back to the office and talk to them about it and someone would ring us soon to tell us our options and see how we would like to move forward, no one rang, that was three weeks ago! Have lost all confidence in them and have employed a new plumber, we will definitely never use them again, really terrible service, don’t recommend!!

We are delighted with our new kitchen by Fords of Sidmouth. Darcy Lexander, our designer and project manager, listened carefully to all our needs and gave us guidance where necessary. Our fitter was Julian who was careful and efficient and the result is a kitchen that is not only practical but looks extremely good. And thank you Chris and co. For getting us just about the last fridge freezer of its kind R n P Hubbardt
New kitchen and utility
We are delighted with the new kitchen and utility that has recently been installed by Fords of Sidmouth. Everything was superbly designed and supervised by Darcy Alexander and expertly fitted by the skilled Fords team - Julian and Ben (fitting and associated plumbing) and Brendon (electrician). It is a huge plus that Fords employs a full range of its own tradesmen for such projects, so that the sequencing and cooperation required proceeds very smoothly - this also provides great reassurance that any after-sales problems will be dealt with promptly by a familiar team. A Great Job completed by a Great Team
We produced a draft specification and discussed it with the whole team at Fords when they came to inspect the flat we wished to completely refurbish. This was impressive as we had all the key players in one room discussing our project. We thought that the price was fair as we received two other quotes from competitors in the area. Fords gave us a firm completion date which they adhered to. The work was of high quality and this was down to the expertise of the following staff members: Dave Whelan, Darcy Alexander, Chris Pullman, Chris Newman, James, Ben, Julian, Mark, Ryan, and Eddie. We would definitely recommend FORDS.

New Kitchen
We are delighted with our new Quantum kitchen, designed by Darcy and supplied by Fords but privately installed. His attention to detail and sound advice on finishes and colour was second to none. Darcy conscientiously monitored the installation and was a great support and help as the works progressed and quickly overcame any minor queries that arose. New Kitchen and Bathrooms
January/February 2018 : Two bathrooms refurbished and a new kitchen - cannot fault the service provided by Darcy designing and James fitting the new Quantum kitchen; then Julian for fitting the new bathrooms and Chris for the design brief. Ross did an excellent job too on all the electrics. All the work was completed to a high standard and on time, seamless coordination and communication on the part of the Fords team.
