Hello Sam, Thanks again for SolarEdge Back-up install, it's great to know that my home is now fully protected against ever looming winter blackouts! 👍 For information, Sam installed my system in late May of this year and prepped for the Back-Up install at a later date. I was the first customer in Scotland (I think) so it was just a case of scheduling the install when it was convenient for both - as usual, Sam was extremely flexible and professional with regard to all aspects and it's an absolute joy dealing with installers like him and the team at HQ. Hello Apologies for not sending sooner, I thought I had in June. The whole process with Sam and the team was completely stress free even though it was their first (I think) install in Scotland. System comprises of 23 panels front and back (pretty much south facing) and a Solar Edge hybrid inverter with circa 10kWh battery - we applied for 8kW export which SPN approved. Post install I handed system to grid via Octopus and during summer months was generating 1 megaWatt per month which will mean no actual bills to be paid to Octopus - I will be in surplus. Can't thank team Oval enough and if you want peace of mind that you are engaging with one of the best renewable install/service companies in the country, then look no further. Oval are just WOW. My SolarEdge inverter broke 9 years in. My installer didn’t do repairs or replacements. Solar Edge sent replacement under warranty and told me to check a weblink for authorised repairers. Very few companies repair most just install. Found Oval in York did repairs so tried them and received absolutely 1st class customer service. Communication was fantastic …David so helpful, went over and above to get my solar power back generating in the summer sunshine. Work done so quickly with little cost. A 5* company who is not just interested in the more profitable installs but does repairs too. I would not hesitate to use in future or recommend them. Thank you Oval Renewables you were brilliant.

Oval carried out a Full SolarEdge 8kwp system with 20x solar panels in 2022. Right from the off the process and discussions were fantastic to help us decide what we wanted and needed. The installation work was second to none, with an eye for details and with fantastic workmanship, almost 3 years on I am still over the moon with the installation. Absolutely fantastic company. Sam came and helped me out of a rough situation when another electrician left me in the lurch. He updated the electrics and helped me modernise a 1952 cottage,going out of his way working weekends and working around a noisy busy family. I had my system installed in 2022, it has performed flawlessly since then. Recently I wanted my EV charger wiring differently so that it wouldn't be a drain on the home battery. 3 years down the line from the installation I felt that they still knew who I was and they were only too happy to offer advice and then quote and do the work required. Sam and Josh came to do the work, both were very professional in their approach and workmanship. My system has been a big investment for me and it is reassuring to know that Oval Renewables have a great reputation in the renewables arena and that they are happy to continue to offer advice and support to me. One week on from my installation being completed and I couldn't be happier with the service and attention I have experienced from Oval Renewables. At every stage of the way (quote, survey, installation, and after-service) the team have been attentive, helpful and courteous throughout. The installation itself is working flawlessly and was done to a very high standard. Nothing was rushed and at all times they concentrated on doing a neat and tidy job, cleaning up as they went about their work, and even taking any waste packaging, etc. away afterwards. Everyone I have dealt with has been friendly and professional, demonstrating impressive core values and integrity. Would I recommend Oval Renewables to anyone else - absolutely!

They recognise that it is a significant investment, so it must fully meet the requirements while remaining within budget. During this process, Sam visited to conduct the site survey and continued to address my questions, explaining the build process, including obtaining DNO approval, adhering to MCS regulations, and the recent PAS63100, which includes upgrading smoke alarms. For us, this was excellent timing as our current alarms were over 10 years old and required replacement. There was no straightforward head replacement available, so I had already begun exploring options. I was also looking to expand coverage, as three interlinked alarms were insufficient for a large house. Overall, the design process proved to be very efficient, instilling confidence that the build would proceed just as efficiently. Once the contract was signed, I was kept fully informed about the progress on the DNO application. As other projects had finished ahead of schedule, I was offered a slot a week earlier than initially planned, which I happily accepted. Dean and Josh arrived on Monday lunchtime and quickly set about preparations for work and made good progress on the EV charger and initial cabling as well as marking out the two roofs ready for the panels to be installed. Sam arrived on Tuesday along with Craig from Gifford’s Electrical, so the project made good progress. This was a large project involving panels on two roofs, a large MyEnergi Libbi battery, SolarEdge inverter and optimisers, fourteen 440W Perlight Delta Pro matt black panels with SolaSkirt and a significant amount of trenchwork, a garage consumer unit, an external consumer unit, seven smoke alarms and gateway, EICR and network cabling. As the weather was not good, the ground was solid, so it slowed the process down. To help with the trenchwork, Oval asked Mike from East Renewables to assist. Mike did an excellent job, allowing the project to proceed. The project took a few more days than planned. However, as it started a week earlier than initially planned, it was still completed ahead of the date expected. Once the system was complete, Dean talked me through each component and ensured that I managed to configure the MyEnergi and SolarEdge apps. As I would need a charger, I contacted Oval regarding the installation, and they confirmed that a slot would be available in March, which prompted discussions about the design. I prepared an initial document detailing my requirements not just for the EV charger but also for solar panels and home battery installation as both required cabling across our garden. I included the current installation at my home, including photos of the consumer unit, meter box and the locations where I would like things installed. There were only a small number of minor snags, for which the aftercare of Oval Renewables shines through, with rapid resolution. I have now received both the DNO approval letter and the MCS certificate, so currently in the process of getting set up for export, just in time for summer. Oval Renewables were a pleasure to deal with. Very knowledgeable and efficient. They set up our battery system in the basement/under the pavement area and it has worked effectively. Their follow up advice and monitoring is helpful.

Sam and the team are very knowledgeable and professional when it comes to the renewable energy industry. We were looking at having a new EV charger installed along with a Tesla Powerwall 3 at our new house.In the end we had to have a Zappi installed at very short notice just before Christmas as the charrger we inherited just packed in. This wasn’t a problem to Sam, he carried out the installation for us and saved us a lot of trouble. The Powerwall 3 was installed this week with minimum disruption and is working perfectly alongside the Zappi and our existing solar panels. Oval may not be the cheapest, but they are local and having the piece of mind that they are available at the end of the phone should anything go wrong is a big factor. Highly recommend Sam and the team.

Great communication and frankness from the start

Great communication from the start. Sam's initial visit was thorough and involved a really detailed discussion of what i wanted to achieve and what Oval could realistically supply. A 400 yr old house is not ready for plug and play! The communication and frank realistic /chats were reassuring. Oval took charge of everything including finding me a great roofer. The install went like clockwork for me. Ii was able to continue working from home throughout with minimal interruption. The thorough pre-planning and bringing together of all of the trades by Oval meant that the install including a new roof finished a week early- all in time for me to sample peak autumn sun hours / generation during the 3 weeks that followed. Even the winter gloom is providing most of my day time electric needs and giving some charge to the battery during the day. I love the system and am so happy with the service throughout. Solar, battery, fire alarms and whole-house power backup- all fab. Of course getting used to it all will take time but that's part of the fun.

Oval renewables were professional from the start

Oval renewables were professional from my very first enquiry. Sam came back to us very quickly and visited our home, he explained what we needed to get our solar panels up and running and spent time ensuring we understood. The fitters were exceptional again explaining everything as they went along and very clean and tidy whilst fitting new smoke alarms in the house. Great, clean and efficient workers, Dean and Oliver were easy to approach and could answer any questions on the day of installation.

1.5 years in, and going strong

Got in touch for some advice after having the system (solar + battery) in place for just over 1.5 years. Quick response! Over the past year-and-a-half the system has worked flawlessly, producing enough solar energy in the summer and allowing us to charge the battery off-peak to run our heat pump in the winter. Oval have done a great job with the install, came back to upgrade the inverter when an issue was identified (by them -- we didn't know). The quality of the work and completeness of the paperwork have meant trouble-free operation and no issues with getting export tariff set up. Would highly recommend, and will use again if/when we move!

I have known of Oval renewables and Sam and his team for some 6 years now. Sam was responsible for commissioning my solar/battery system in France. Since then we have moved back to the UK and asked the Oval team to provide solar, battery, backup and car charging solution for our Cambridgeshire home. During implementation the crew onsite were polite, tidy and proud of their smart looking solution. They weren’t only interested in getting the solution working technically. They paid great attention to the detail of how they were doing it and agreed options with me throughout the whole process. My questions continued throughout installation as I was learning more each day during implementation. If I had queries or wanted to have the layout of equipment positioned in a slightly different manner for my own personal practical reasons, the crew were happy to discuss and alter/oblige where it was agreed logical to do so. I didn’t feel as though I was bothering them and discussions were always welcome to aid the learning process. My solution included the SolarEdge Home Backup Interface. A new faster switch over feature had recently been released by SolarEdge, but it wasn’t working as expected upon testing. Oval spoke onsite with a SolarEdge support engineer while I was present. A fix was provided and successfully tested there and then. In the weeks following the implementation I had further queries related to the SolarEdge App and possible bugs with visual aids/monitoring in the SolarEdge software. Oval have helped me understand how best to use the software interface available and raised tickets with SolarEdge for support of any software anomalies. I see customer service as the most important factor when embarking on a project like this because the technology and software for such solutions are continually evolving and the introduction of Smart Tariffs by energy suppliers are in their infancy. I wanted a partnership that would help me when things don’t always go right, even when issues are outside of Oval’s immediate control. In my experience Oval are a company that will match the attention to detail and effort you yourself research for your investment. I recommend Oval because they understand that a successful solar solution is not just about the technology, the software or the energy supplier’s tariff. Oval Renewables - Outstanding quality and customer service

I came across Oval Renewables via a series of YouTube videos. They came across as extremely knowledgeable and professional in the videos and I noted that they were located in the York area. We moved to our new house 14 months ago and had been exploring options for renewable solutions. We were restricted by the local planning authority to only up to 5 solar panels on the Car Port (we are Grade 2 listed). The sales team of Nick and Sam were excellent, providing excellent, well structured advice on the various options. We received an initial quote following a remote survey by Nick. Once we had amended the spec to suit, Sam came out to do a detailed survey. This exposed a couple of challenges that resulted in further design and spec changes. They were very happy to amend the design to meet the financial envelope that we had and were not in any way pushy. They also pointed out an earthing problem with another system which they fixed as part of the install. We ended up with 4 panels on the car port roof, an Alpha smile battery with integrated inverter and an upgraded electrical system pre-prepared to add an electric car charger in the next 12-24 months. We were able to show a bit of flexibility in our ability to accommodate them when they had capacity to fit the system at short notice and they in turn offered us an element of flexibility in terms of scaling of the design which we hugely appreciated. In terms of delivery, the team were polite, punctual and clearly highly skilled. There work was extremely neat and to the correct specifications etc. The on-site team had outstanding customer service skills and were a pleasure to have around the house throughout. We are delighted with the system, the after care has been thorough and the whole experience has been really easy. The only caveat I would make is that they are so popular that it does take some time to work your way through their waiting list. I fully intend to use them for further upgrades and can provide an unconditional recommendation. They are simply outstanding.

I first encountered Oval Renewables in January 2022 after solar panels installed by another company developed a fault. The original installers showed no interest in helping me. In contrast, Sam from Oval was extremely helpful, being honest from the start about what may need to be done and making suggestions about the best way forward. The fault turned out to be very difficult to pin down and we ended up having to replace the whole array. From start to finish the team were very professional, there was no sales pressure and the men were pleasant, knowledgeable and tidy and always arrived on time. During the following 2 years I engaged Oval to fit a storage battery, a replacement solar diverter, a car charger, extra solar panels and most recently an additional battery module, and without exception I have always been happy with their work. They are not the cheapest, but only install quality products and this is backed up with excellent advice and after sales service if needed. They have become the standard by which I judge the performance of other tradesman and companies. It is easy to be impressed with a firm when they install something and everything goes to plan. The real test comes when there are problems. Much of this technology is fairly new and it is not surprising that I have needed help with technical problems on several occasions. None of these issues were caused by anything Oval had done, but they are always happy to help and do their best to fix things as quickly as possible. It is clear that they pride themselves in looking after their customers and their frustration if 3rd parties are slow to respond is obvious. They welcome suggestions and constructive criticism and are keen to improve their already excellent service. I would not hesitate to recommend Oval Renewables to anyone interested in this type of technology.

Definitely a company to recommend if you're looking for a top quality solar and battery setup that is installed with care and attention to detail. Helpful, polite, friendly and hardworking engineers all backed up with a supportive back office who are only a phone call or email away to answer any questions or queries you may have before, during and after the installation. Examples of the extra care taken was engineers Bill and Michael who went and purchased some plastic sheeting to cover over my garage queen car so it would not get dust on it during installation. Great pre-work online to understand our needs and design a system to suit (2 x inverters AC coupled battery to work with our Zappi EV charger). Sam called in a few weeks prior to the install for final checks to make sure the installation went smoothly. Equipment has been installed with attention to detail by workmen who take pride in their trade. Highly professional approach with some items other installers consider optional (scaffolding, bird protection) are all in as part of the job. Good support and follow-up to any questions as we get to know the system, but even in the dark North Pennine winter, the solar panels are already making energy and the battery is charging up overnight to keep us in cheap electricity through the day. NB: Called back in January to fit the MyEnergi Eddi solar diverter (due to lack of availability when solar/battery were installed). Integrated this with the Mitsubishi heat pump so they work together.

Oval Renewables recently installed a combination of solar panels and battery system at our home I would like to say I‘m very happy on how the whole process has gone. From first getting touch with Oval Renewables and through to the installation and completion of the PV system the communication from Oval Renewables has been excellent, with quick replies back to any emails I sent them When I first approached Oval Renewables for us to have a PV system it was easily explained, the questionnaire for me was easy to fill out I really appreciated the assistance at the start on providing the PV panel information to me, The installers that installed our system were both very friendly and easy to talk to, and arrived on time when they said they would. They respected my property and cleaned up after themselves, which can be very rare these days for work men. They even notified me of an existing roof tile that was previously damaged and they were able to replace it at the same time of carrying out the PV installation, saving me the hassle of having to contact a roofer to carry out this work. They took on board the request to install the equipment in a confined area to make sure it didn’t hamper the opening of my back garage door, its looks very good and a neat installation. The explanation on how the system works etc they did well too. From a customer point of view, Oval Renewables are an excellent company. I’ve no hesitation to recommend Oval Renewables to anyone, keep up the good work

Brilliant

From start to finish the job exceeded my expectations. Sam, Dean and Ahmed were great to work with. We had some of the hottest weather on record and these guys still completed the project on time. Any snags were quickly resolved. Sam is very prompt at answering any questions. The project was a very tricky to install an east-west system on a flat roof on an outbuilding 30 meters from the main house. I was most impressed with Sam where he would state if he did not know the answer to a question. He would come back with the right answer (not the quickest or often wrong answer).

Extremely pleased with Oval Renewables

I decided to go with Oval Renewables after looking at some of their online content. And it was the right choice! Like many solar installers there was a wait but in my mind it was worth it. Their attention to detail was first class and they ensured we have a system that fits our current and future needs including a few last minute changes.
