A pleasure to deal with!

I have just had a 9kw system with batteries and gateway fitted by Current Renewables. From the first contact with Frazer it was a great experience. He is very knowledgeable and answers any questions you might have. The system he designed took into consideration what we were using it for, and not “how much can I sell” Which given my experience up to that point, was very refreshing. We had to change the design slightly during the process, but nothing was too much trouble. They are even proactive in making sure you get on the right tariff. The whole team were fast, responsive, polite and very, very neat. A work of art in the world of electrics! I would not hesitate to recommend Current Renewables. Great company. No pushy salesman, gave a competitive quote straight away and advised me to get other quotes for comparison. Even explained why I didn’t need some of the equipment I was asking about to save me money. Good communication throughout, friendly installation team completed quite a large system in 2 days. They made several proposals (which I constantly tweaked), made a final design, obtained all permissions and delivered in timeframe agreed. The install was well done, very tidy and looks great. From initial phone call, sales manager and installation all went seamlessly. Current Renewables are a local company and are very responsive to emails and phone, nothing seems a hassle for them. The installation team were very informative, courteous and tidy. They took time to explain the system. This company use Ecoflow products (as well as others) but we chose ecoflow for the long warranties, 15yr batteries, 15yr inverter and 15yr power wall. The overall price was very competitive having had quotes from themselves, another local company and a national one. We highly recommend this company!

Frazer recently set us up with an off-grid solar system for our little office at the yard for our scaffolding business, and it’s been brilliant! I had Current renewables come give me a quote. After excepting it, they came and fitted a total system of 15 panels, inverter and battery. They kept me informed all through installing and helped me transfer my electricity provider to get a better deal. Thanks for everything.

Having now been almost 2 weeks after the installation of solar panels & a battery system on my elderly parents property I feel it justified to write a review on current renewables. After obtaining several previous quotations I contacted current renewables as they were relatively local to me & spoke to frazer about the possibility of them being able to give me a quote we scheduled an appointment for the following Wednesday on which frazer & Steve attended, we had a cup of coffee & a chat before they surveyed the property at this time I hadn't made my mind up as to which battery system to go with so I asked them what they recommended they gave me a product I didn't even consider which was the ecoflow power ocean with a 6kw inverter frazers solar software calculated 22 solar panels were possible on the roof space with aiko being the preferred brand ( this was increased to 26 as there was more space after initial installation) & then the costing which gauging from previous quotes I was expecting it to be a fair bit higher as this system had more panels & a slightly bigger inverter frazer displayed the system & the cost on his laptop I asked is that the final cost to which they replied yes it was lower than previous quotes & by some considerable amount so I told them to do it & payed my deposit. Roughly 3 weeks after came installation which only took 2 days the guys were all polite and friendly & worked really hard installing the system which I'm sure is not easy everything was left clean with minimal disruption to the house, on the final day it all looked amazing with the power ocean being a really smart looking bit of kit frazer text me the following day with a Qr code to access the app which is also amazing with so much data. The next morning frazer called to make sure everything was good & for me to change the battery settings in the app which was really easy to do, he also mentioned that they could increase the amount of solar panels as there was space for 4 more which I agree to as they were returning on the friday to fit birdmesh to the panels, I mentioned to him that the guys had said there was some loose ridge tiles & if he knew anyone who could fix that for us as the scaffolding was still in place he said no problem as he employs a roofer & gave me a costing which was unbelievably fair for a dry ridge conversion. Almost 2 weeks after installation I've now seen the data from the installation & I can say my parents haven't spent anything on electricity in this period which is amazing, the system has worked faultlessly. If your looking for a solar installer these guys come highly recommended with frazer & his team being heavily focused on customer satisfaction & doing the job right with zero pressure selling, I can't thank them enough for what they've done for my parents who are both in their 80s a real positive experience from a genuine local company well done guys

We’ve just had a solar system and battery storage fitted by Current Renewables . Everything has been great from the start. I’d had a lot of quotes and was really impressed by Frazer (who was very patient with my endless questions) and the quote was very competitive compared to the many I’d got. The work took place over two days. Everyone involved in the fitting was great, kept us informed with progress and took care to make sure we weren’t inconvenienced. They even came back 2 days later when our WIFI rebooted and we needed a hand resetting the system. The solar is all up and running and so far so good. Love keeping tabs on how much energy the system is producing and we’re saving ! Thanks Frazer, Giovanni and team .

We do a lot of research before taking the leap into solar power, Fraser was head and shoulders above the rest of his competitors for knowledge, service and price. I went through a quotation process using 3 suppliers and ended up choosing Current Renewables as they offered a no nonsense approach, which I appreciated. Length of time taken: 6 weeks from initial call to completed installation. It would have been sooner, but I delayed things while asking many many questions Installation time: 3 working days + extra for EV charger as the first one was damaged in transit The sales process: I found Current Renewables via Octopus as one of their recommended suppliers. Frazer and Steve came out to my property and did the survey and provided pricing on the same day. All of my questions were answered and a full quote provided that day. Frazer explained that there was a possibility of adding more panels on the day if we could find space. We ended up adding an additional 7. I had a fair few questions along the way that were all answered, quickly. The installation: The installs are handled by Giovanni, Frazer's brother. He and the team were always on time, friendly and professional. The scaffolding went up half a day late but there was plenty to keep the team busy so it didn't impact the instal. We had a long cable run from the main board to the EV charger and this was planned out exactly where we wanted it. Giovanni wasn't happy with the look of one part of the cable run, so had one of the guys turn up early the next day to redo it. When finished, the installation looked great. There were a few snags along the way but the team came back to complete everything that we asked to be done. The EV charger arrived damaged in transit and the guys struggled to get another one onsite, but this was handled well with constant comms letting us know when it would be installed. As a previous reviewer mentioned, how a team communicates and fixes mistakes shows you a lot more about the company than anything else. These guys are top notch, nothing was too much trouble. We asked for the scaffolding to be removed by a certain date as we had people coming over and it was down by that date. The kit: 27 x 510w Aiko Panels 1 x Sigenergy 8Kw Inverter 2 x Sigenergy 8Kw Batteries 1 x Sigenergy Backup device 1 x Sigenergy EV Charger We've had everything operating now for 2 weeks and it has worked flawlessly. We haven't taken any power from the grid, have made £75 exporting it back and both our EV's have only been charged using solar. For any geeks out there, you'll be in heaven with the Sigenergy app. It gives you complete control over how you use your energy. I genuinely couldn't be happier with the system and the entire installation process. The entire team did an outstanding job.

An installer that will correct his mistakes!

Frazer from Current Renewables Ltd was one of over a dozen companies in the Somerset area that I asked for quotations for residential solar PV and battery installations. I also considered a number of solar manufactures for their system components and the various PV panel manufacturers. My primary concerns for the selection of which manufacture and system components to go with were: 1. A Gateway comparable in functionality to the Telsa Powerwall 3. 2. Modular system design for simplified system expansion. 3. Offered at least 3 MPPTs. 4. System cost, warranty period and whether the manufacturer / installer had a good public reputation/standing. These last points proved to be very hard to nail down in this industry! After considering a number of systems I settled upon the following Sigenergy system components and installation by Current Renewables Ltd commenced on the 11th July 2025: 8kW Controller-Inverter with 3 MPPTs. 2 x 8kWh batteries (a 3rd was added later). HomeMax SP 12k Gateway. 18 x DMEGC DM450M10RT-54HBB PV Panels that were later switched to AIKO Neostar-2S AIKO-A465-MAH54Mb PV Panels. Bird Mesh around the panels. My quotation included scaffolding and all other sundry costs. The total quotation was initially £14,019 plus an additional £1,955 for a 3rd 8kWh battery that was added after the first two had been installed; bring the total to £15,974. The selected PV panels were specifically selected for their HW4 robustness rating (40mm hailstone at 27.5m/s). Due to most manufacturers ‘fudging’ the robustness figures quoted upon their datasheets (and often not following the HW scaling at all), this proved to be difficult data to obtain from most manufacturers. The two that I found that provided this level of robustness where DMEGC and AIKO (along with certification evidence to back up the datasheets). The initial quote from Frazer was to include AIKO Neostar 2S panels but upon emailing a number of customer queries to AIKO, to which I received no response at all; I decided to switch to installing DMEGC Infinity RT panels as this company was responsive to customer queries. Unfortunately, this switch in the panel supplier to DMEGC proved to be problematic. The manufacturer had ceased suppling 54HBB panels across Europe and only supplied the B54HBB panels instead. The B54HBB panels are only rated to HW3 robustness. This was not spotted until after the B54HBB panels had already been installed however. This prompted a switch back to the originally planned AIKO panels! The installation (Thurs/Friday 10-11th July 2025) proceeded reasonably well but 2 of the PV panels could not be fitted onto the house roof. Frazer was not available to oversee this part of the installation personally on Friday and unfortunately the panels were not positioned correctly resulting in insufficient space to install the last two panels. However, Frazer and his brother returned the next day (Saturday morning) to remove and reposition them so that all of the panels would fit on the roof. This was all satisfactory. Frazer also removed the garage panels and re-centred these panels as well! It was only a couple of days later, while I was reviewing the photos I had taken during the installation, that I noticed that the PV panel model numbers were B54HBB rather than the specified 54HBB units. Frazer later confirmed with the wholesaler (who accepted responsibility for the mistake) that the incorrect panels had indeed been shipped and installed. A week was spent trying to source the correct panels before it was found that no EU supplier of the 54HBB panels could be located. Consequently, the decision was made to switch back to installing the AIKO panels again, as originally planned, because these were HW4 rated with a TUV-Rheinland robustness certificate for the Neostar 2S AIKO-A455-MAH54Mb panels to this effect! All of the panels were removed and replaced with the AIKO panels on the 29th July. An additional 3rd 8kWh battery was installed on the 5th August 2025. The entire installation took nearly 4 weeks due to these setbacks with the PV panels. Overall, I was very pleased with the standard of the work done by Frazer and his team. It wasn’t flawless and things needed fixing! But it was done with the best of intent and I respected Frazer’s willingness to acknowledge mistakes and correct them. That to me is where a review really matters. Not when things go right but when they don’t! That determines whether the installer is someone you want to trust or not. Having seen how Frazer conducts himself, I would recommend him despite the mistakes made. It’s not whether mistakes are made - mistakes happen. It’s whether they will be corrected! Frazer will correct his mistakes and that counts for a LOT! 5 Stars!

Brilliant service and installation from Current Renewables. I’m extremely happy with the work that’s been carried out on my Property and Frazer explained everything in great detail seeing as this was my first time purchasing Solar Panels. I’d recommend the company to anyone.

Fantastic family company. Local to us but by far the best quote for price and installation date. From the introductory meeting through to the final farewell was a pleasure. All staff including the scaffolders they employed were professional, courteous, tidy, safety conscious, considerate about being in and around our home, dog friendly and quick. A company I’d definitely use again

Frazer was really clear about what I needed for the whole system, how it would be installed and I was able to organise the installation when it was convenient for me. There was no pressure and although not my cheapest quote it was the one I felt most confident to go with. I was really impressed that the job was essentially completed in one day, including scaffolding going up and coming down (I had a 6 panel installation on one side of the roof) and the boxing in of the battery and inverter. The guys who came on the installation day clearly explained what they would be doing and showed me how to use the in house device once everything was installed. When it was realised that something hadn’t been fitted on the installation day it was resolved within a day, at my convenience. Thanks.

Current Renewables did a big solar pv system on my industrial unit ECU. Trusted them to spec the system and design it. Everything went as it said they showed up on time and completed the job when they said they would. System size was 224KW and works great. Would recommend to any commercial or industrial owners needed help with their energy bills.

Arrived Monday (Bank Holiday) morning and installed 20 solar panels followed by the installation of an electric boiler by 4 o’clock the next day. The professionalism and courtesy was only surpassed by the quality of their work. We were so lucky to find them.

They have just fitted my home with a wonderful array of solar panels, complete with a battery which is all up and running. Right from the off when they came out to us to talk through our needs they were professional, courteous and polite. They've done a great job with the installation itself, and we've been able to see the immediate impact the panels have had on our consumption from the grid, and what we're exporting! My hubby and I have looking into solar panels for about a year now, and we are so glad we took the leap with Current Renewables Ltd. Our contact was Steve, he came out to our home a talked us both through system the company and costs. A great guy very professional and informative. The price given was very competitive and after all the info Steve gave us we went ahead. Yesterday Govanni Frazer and David arrived to install our system. And did they work hard. Again professional polite hard working. No mess was left. The system is working beautifully and every step of the way was fully explained. We are of a certain age and new tech is not our field but once Frazer had explained I don't know why I was worried. Hubby and I kept looking at my phone app and the meter that comes with the system. Our battery had filled by 3/4 what we'd used etc etc. So if your looking for solar system this company is a must. We are completely happy with the company and the sytem. We highly recommend. We were interested in solar panels for our house. We contacted quite a few providers one of which was current renewables limited most gave us a quote via email two came out and saurus one being hive the other being Fraserfrom current Renewable. The thing that struck us first with Fraser was there was no hard cell he just came out and explained everything to us and what he thought was best for us. He came up with a quote and sent it to us. We then found out that we couldn’t have solar panels due to a clause in the lease on the house. This did not deter us. We went back to Fraser who came out again and sat with us and I had this thought of just using batteries and Fraser was going to suggest that as well. He recommended GivEnergy for the batteries inverter and the car charger as they would all work together and he said they were one of the best also they would work well with octopus energy he came up with a quote that we were happy with we gave him a date that we were happy to have the installation done. We took care of swapping over from British Gas to octopus that was completely painless. I have to say octopus a brilliant Installation day came Fraser and his lads came out and just got on with it all we supplied the bacon buddies tea coffee. And before they went home, they had home-made pizzas on our pizza oven The installation was faultless there was one or two teething problems not of Fraser’s Work but with software glitches with GivEnergy, I can’t praise them enough. We rang them up. They got online to the unit. Could see exactly what the issue was and fixed it within about five minutes and apologised. It’s just something that happens when setting the system up I have no hesitation in recommending Fraser for his work and his dedication and customer care. I’ve never known anybody as good as him. I’ve had to tell him to stop texting me from holiday because he’s worried and wants to know that everything is alright. The GivEnergy equipment is Fantastic, the app shows you exactly what’s going on. How much electricity you’re using only wish we could’ve had the solar panels as well.As much as I know about it, I can thoroughly recommend them I’m just the first couple of weeks of using the equipment. It looks like we are now using cheap rates electricity from 12:30 to 5:30 and this is charging the 10 kW batteries charging our hybrid car. My wife is also doing the washing at night The dishwasher and tumble drying looking at the octopus daily usage were running the house on the 10 kW batteries during the day so the money that we have used filling them up and doing all the rest of the household chores is costing us 8p per kilowatt hour and that’s anything from under a pound per night to about £1.50 so an absolute savings And it’s a lovely sat here watching us not pull anything off the grid at 23.3 per kilowatt hour All I can say is give Fraser a ring and see what he can do for you and how much money he can save you
