Solar system rescue.

Adam didn’t install our solar system. He has been helping us sort out problems caused by the company which did and he has been more helpful than we could have hoped. He explains things in simple terms that we understood and we just wish we had known of Adam’s company when we decided to have a solar system installed.

A faultless experience from start to finish!

Our first Heat Pump Service carried out on 5th Feb 2026. Impossible to fault Ask Renewables from my very first contact with customer service through the service itself and to receiving the completed documentation - I felt that my business was important to them and they were happy to accommodate my requirements. The guys were on time, they worked cleanly, respected the property, were friendly and professional. It's also great to see that the business is part of an Apprentice scheme taking the time to train the next generation of technicians! I know this was only a "bread and butter" service (but none the less still important!) but based on this experience, I wouldn't hesitate recommending Ask Renewable for any servicing requirements or larger installation projects - they are certainly on my radar for the future!

We contacted Ask Renewable Solutions Ltd via Checkatrade as we were having problems with our solar panels. David came to check the system and diagnosed a fault that was reducing the efficiency of the system. After explaining what options we had to correct the problem we then went on to discussing whether we would benefit from fitting a battery to the system. ASK is an owner run buisiness with a clear committment to customer satisfaction at every stage. My Midea 290 heat pump was installed quickly at my request as I wished to re-use the gas boiler in my daughters home, hers being on its last legs. Every member of the team worked flexibly, and effectively to deliver the new system. The heat pump itself is wisper-quiet and unobtrusive, delivering on water and domestic heating in cold conditions. Solar panels, battery storage and EV charger installation

This is the best company we have ever employed to do work on our home. From the very first visit to any follow up queries they have always been professional, courteous and friendly. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with them. They completed all the work to a high standard and even went out of their way to way to go to a reclamation yard to ensure a perfect match on a few broken tiles which they replaced. They promised they could deliver the project within 3 days and they did ! Day 1 scaffolding up. Day 2 installation. Day 3 scaffolding down. We would thoroughly recommend them.

Professional Firm, well ran with great workers

I got several quotes for solar and battery installation, I also needed a new roof and Ask were one of the few that could do both at once. Although not the cheapest I think the quote was ok and with them doing the roof at the same time this seemed less hassle. Other firms had requested 30-50% deposit up front but ask said they didn’t want anything till I was happy with the job once it was finished. A fantastic way to do business in my opinion which creates less stress and empowers the customer. The quote itself was for a large system, bigger that anyone else had advised but I am glad I made this choice. A date was set for the scaffolding and a start date for the roof, estimated time for the work was 2-3 weeks. The roofers were so polite and tidy, couldn’t ask of much more from them. I had grp on a section of flat roof and some resin was spilt on my bi fold doors. They couldn’t get it off cleanly so the got someone to paint them and now they look as good as new. The system is excellent, and generates way more than I was expecting. It’s October and I’ve only used grid power once for about an hour. Everything about the process was stress free, even any problems we did have were quickly fixed. I would recommend these guys to anyone. True professionals at every stage.

All, we would just like to thank you all for such a great service, which you provided during the installation of both our Solar and Thermal Panels as well as the R290 Heat Pump and new hot water tank. Your employees were brilliant, especially Adam the Plumber who spent 4 days at our house ,and his work ethic was brilliant, especially when it came to cleaning up! From Lee's initial contact with us through to Adams Development of the project, and of course, and not least, the professionalism of Claire, the whole process was smooth from start to finish. Any problems were solved with little fuss, and in general the whole experience was very good. But you have successfully tranfered a house built in 1780 from an antiquated hot water/heating system, into an up to date  efficient property that is snug and warm with 21 st Technology. It is a credit to you all. Great service from a great team and a great company. Will be in touch soon to see what else we can do, especilly about getting the batteries to charge during off peak hours

A very efficient and straightforward process

I have found Ask Renewables to be knowledgeable helpful and professional in all my dealings with them, right from my first contact with the company. From the initial contact, through the quotes and planning process through to the installation of my solar panels I have been kept informed, given opportunity to ask as many questions as I wanted and not pressured in any way. The sales team are excellent and the installation team worked quickly and very tidily to get the panels installed and advised me how to use them in less than 4 hours. Installation of Air to Water Heat Pump…

I had an Air to Water Heat Pump installed at my home in 2021, the actual pump was fine with no problems at all but the installation of the pump and the fitting of the pipework and thermal insulation was a nightmare. It was identified after someone from HIES who checked it that the orientation of the pump was wrong and the thermal insulation on the pipework was not the correct thickness or had not been fitted at all and the radiator in my Bathroom was undersized, Eventually Mike Kellett "the Professor" at Ask Renewables came to my home to observe what was wrong. He informed me that what had to be done was for the pump to be raised over my Water Butt and sat on a special steel upstand. a few weeks later the workmen arrived and I was told that Mitsubishi would not approve lifting the pump onto an upstand and the pump MUST sit on the floor. The workmen then installed a second Heat exchanger in my upstairs Airing cupboard this additional exchange was not shown on the approved Single Line Diagram and rather they then installed a larger radiator in my my down stairs hall. I have spent 3 years reviewing this with my Insurance my Insurance Backed Guarantee Company who admit hat they know nothing about Domestic Central Heating or Heat Pumps. We must have clear approved rules, Heat Pump installation is after all Government approved

Along came the scaffolder’s, and the installation team of Ste, Ste and Daly everything went like clockwork it was great to see such good team work. Absolutely fantastic company. Adam and the team are the ultimate solution when considering solar installation. I researched the market for quite some time and talked to about 8 companies as soon as I started talking to Adam I knew I was in great hands. His knowledge of the industry is second to none. Even now after my installation in March he is stall available on the phone when I need to understand some technical info about performance he is always available and happy to help. I would urge anyone considering solar energy to speak to Adam before making a final decision and I’m sure you will instruct them. On a financial matter we would not go back to not having solar installation our household it’s definitely saved us a lot of money and also selling power back to the grid is amazing. From start to finish, I experienced nothing but five star service. Everything was very efficient. Our solar system was installed, up and running within two weeks from my first enquiry. We used Ask Renewables for installing solar panels and then about 2 years later for installing an EV charger. Both jobs were done very well. They are responsive to questions and have good follow up service too if you need it. They are friendly and knowledgeable.

I've not long had a Heat pump and Solar batteries fitted as I already had Solar panels and after a few hiccups everything is great. You can't expect things to go without incident but you can expect a fast and efficient response which Ask Renewable Solutions did without fuss but with effect and efficiency. The best Solar Energy company out there by far… I have been thinking about solar energy for some time now. I decided to research the market. Various companies were considered but ASK Renewable Solution were by far the best out there. Adam Killa who owns the company was so helpful and knowledgeable, he blew me away with his expertise, I would highly recommend him. When I gave him the go ahead him and his team were excellent. I urge anyone who is considering Solar not to do anything until they speak to Adam Killa. ASK are second to none.

We were introduced to ASK due to shoddy workmanship from a supplier that installed our solar panels. Having lost faith in the original solar panel installer who had gone bust, I was a little worried to start with. The scaffolding went up on the Monday, 2 lads turned up on the Wednesday (Ste and Ste) they were so polite, courteous and grafters! They explained what was wrong, what they were going to do and when, they turned up every day early without fail and worked until it got dark. It was freezing out there and hideous weather. Communication was great. We were so impressed with them. We agreed for them to do some extra work, which they did to perfection. I can’t recommend Adam, Ste and Ste enough. Really good experience and they restored our faith in tradesmen. Thankyou for your great work. Both Ste’s are an asset to ASK.

Delighted with the solar and battery system installed by ASK renewables. The installers were fantastic from start to finish, despite some horrendous weather for much of the install. They went above and beyond to make sure the work was completed to a high standard.

This company had completed remedial work on my solar installation, as my original installer was a waste of oxygen. Everything we agreed upon, happened as planned. No messing about, no last minute changes, excuses, cancellations etc. Scaffolding delivered one day, roofer and electrician came the other day. I feel its almost criminal that this company has got just a few reviews on here, because they've done an outstanding job. Everything was just easy and professional, was installed as per regs, safe, looks miles better and most importantly works properly! Props to the leccy guy to stayed till half past 9 on a Friday finishing the install, quoting "If you wanna do a job right, sometimes you have to stay late to do it properly". Big thanks for your professionalism and service, there's a lot of companies that do sub standard solar installs, but I can wholeheartedly recommend this one to anyone looking for an install, and I wish more people would find companies like this, truly a breeze to work with. Had solar panels and battery storage installed in November. Adam was extremely responsive from the first enquiry via the website and through each query I had, usually responding on the next working day. The installation date was suggested within two weeks of agreeing to go ahead, with a three day window for scaffolding erection, equipment delivery and installation. Everything happened as planned on the dates agreed and the scaffolding was taken down the next working day. Everything was left neat and tidy, no rubbish was left and all the site team were great to deal with. There had been a problem with one of the panels when unloaded from the pallet (direct from supplier) but that was resolved once a new one was available (about a week) and no payment was requested until the entire system was up and running. Claire was really helpful from the point of ordering and then with queries after installation, liaising with the inverter manufacturer to update some settings. Would definitely recommend.

I wanted to install a solar PV system at home. Here's how it went: - 27th Feb: Enquiry made. - 28 Feb: 45 mins call with an engineer at 7:30pm - initial discussion all about what I imagine things to be. He noted everything and promised to generate a quote. - 1st March: Next morning I receive an itemised quote with a system drawing and projections of use, generation, payback... and everything a geek like myself dreams of (they use simple PV quoting tool which is the best in the industry). Their itemised quote came very competitive and easily discarded the others on the basis of service, communication and price. - 3rd March: 30 mins call at 6 pm with an engineer. We tweaked the system size once more to its final form and schedule a visit. - 9th March: 90 mins visit where the same measured and estimate of the roof size, checked all systems (grounding, electric, water, gas), surveyed the loft and visually inspected the roof. We then sat in my office where he redrew the system in light of the measurements he took. - 10th March: Next day quote arrived which takes into account all the work done during the visit - 11th March: I accept the quote and receive an email on the same day advising of all next steps and timescales: 17th delivery of panels and equipment, 18th Scaffolding will be erected, 21st installation day. - 13th March: All docs are sent my way and I sign & return them - 15th March: Run into an issue - panels' supplier doesn't have the ones we agreed (global supply chain issues and high demand on renewables after price hikes). On the same day I'm offered an alternative and £100 discount for the inconvenience. I decline the first alternative and another lands in my inbox 2 hours later which I accept. The discount was upheld regardless. - 17th March: Delivery van unloads boxes and 12 wonderful panels - 18th March: A delightful chap erects the scaffolding in 90 mins, we have a nice chat, agree a date for scaffolding undoing and they depart. - 21st March: 2 engineers arrive and install the whole system between 9am and 7pm. They survey everything and answer all the questions I had before departing. - today 22nd March: All the paper work lands in my inbox and the system works as intended. 17 kWh generated on a sunny, albeit mildly cloudy first day! Honestly, 10/10 service from beginning to end. Photos and videos attached.

A great experience from this company phoned them Wednesday due to a fault with my solar panels Adam came out same day to find the problem diagnosed that the inverter was knackered. Adam ordered my new 1 and the lads came Friday afternoon and fitted it for me also the lads aswell as Adam where great and polite cannot fault and would definitely recommend.

A friendly, helpful and totally professional company to deal with. Our initial consultation with Adam was arranged quickly, followed up with the survey and at no stage did we feel pressured into buying anything that wasn’t suitable for our situation; in fact we were dissuaded from certain things that wouldn’t have been appropriate or not cost effective, making our outlay a lot less than it could have been! Saying that, we were pleasantly surprised at how the cost of solar installations have come down since we made initial enquiries with other companies years ago. The installation was undertaken at our convenience and within a short timescale. All tradesmen were friendly and efficient, worked tidily and considerately and arrived when expected. All round, a very positive experience!
