This is our door now. Still waiting on it being resolved Issue with door has now been resolved to our complete satisfaction. A new door was installed yesterday by two very skilled and pleasant employees. The office staff that handled this complaint must be some of the most pleasant individuals you would ever want to have in your business. So well done to all at Cairngorm

Cairngorm Group. Shocking Zero customer after care

Everything started great but 16wks of hearing nothing I phoned them up. The female who answered could not find my order, they had received 15% as a deposit. She asked if she could phone me back, which she did 15mins later. Wouldn't you know my order just arrived that morning. My door & side panels were installed on the 9th September. I had to leave it till the silicone dried. Two days later I wiped it down. The joints in the panels were a mess with excess silicone. I sent the photos to one of the owners a Scott Dowling. He never replied, still hasn't. I contacted their representant Stephen Hobban. I told him how disappointed I was in their lack of care for customers. I told him about Scott Dowling ignoring my email with photos. Stephen had just arrived at the office and was on his way to have a word with Mr Dowling and get back to me. Neither have, Yes I love the look of my door and considering what I paid I expected the finishes to be worthy of the thousands they were paid. They would be the last company I would buy anything else from! Shocking how little they care about Quality Control in their line of business.

consistently impressed

We are consistently impressed with Cairngorm Group. We were given rough timelines at the start and every step happened almost to the day! The windows are exactly what we wanted with the added unexpected benefit of reduced noise which we hadn't realised was an issue with the old windows. I'm looking forward to a draft free, quiet winter. The team who fitted the windows were brilliant. They were really polite, tidy, and cleaned up really well before they left. Because of the nature of our driveway and their access, they had to block our neighbours in. They were ready and willing to move, so much so that my neighbour commented to me that when she had to ask them to move they were surprisingly helpful, and that she was really impressed! There was no fuss, they just got on with a really professional job. I've previously had a great experience when they've changed panes in our conservatory - I couldn't be at home so I just locked the internal door and they replaced the pane and you'd never know they'd been (except that the replacement obviously wasn't blown). The whole team was brilliant, from Stephen's initial visit, to the surveyor, the lady who took our payment over the phone (even though I didn't have the reference) and the fitters. We are consistently impressed by the service we receive from Cairngorm Group. (As an aside, having replaced windows in the past the price was less than I expected too!). I expect to replace more conservatory panes with them in the coming year(s).

Initially conservatory construction…

Initially conservative construction very good. During construction burst main water pipe, plumber sent to repair, repaired burst, checked house taps for grit but did not check main on/off tap which has been seized ever since. They are refusing to do this easy fix. Therefore have to say after service very poor to non existent.

EXCELLENT - from start to finish. Our experience was wonderful, from the help/advice from Martin to the boys who fitted the doors (apologies forgot names), punctual, polite, tidy, to Jacek who came to do mortar work and Anya who answered all queries. 100% recommend this company - worth every penny.

Had their 'window doctor' out to fix a window. They replaced the glass with the wrong size and removed a hinge which means the window no longer closes. They now refuse to come and rectify their poor work. Absolutely terrible service, go elsewhere if you can.

We had a Conservatory built by the Cairngorm Group and they must be the most frustrating company I have ever dealt with! So why the 5 star review you may ask, well the quality of their work is exceptionally good. If they say it will take 3 weeks it is more likely to take 3 months but some of that is out of their control, such as the weather. Their communications are intermittent until you make a noise and then the communications are excellent, as I said they are a frustrating company. They are more expensive than others but the finished result is worth it. We kept a close eye on the Building warrant so we knew when that was submitted and the work would be starting. If they could polish up on their communications and perhaps employ a customer experience manager, then the customer communications would be a lot better. That said, we were really pleased with the end result, which was built in difficult circumstances and with many challenges to overcome, their work is professional, the building people that come are great. All in, I would highly recommend them but expect to be frustrated at times, but it's worth it in the end.

Recently had our front & back door replaced by cairngorm. We had recieved a number of quotes from different suppliers and cairngorm came back the most reasonable and affordable for our budget. The sale's rep was extremely helpful and guided us in the right direction for what we were needing and the installation guys were lovely and done a great job of fitting & finishing our doors.

We recently had two windows fitted at our commercial premises into double block concrete walls. The guys did an excellent job in what was a complicated job. They carried out the work quickly and to a very good standard. The internal finishing's were also completed to a high standard. Very happy with the work from Scott and his team.

Awful quality with a dreadful office staff. We got 13 windows and 2x patio doors. First it did not comply to the building standard and we have had to argue with them to get a window changed. It took a year. The patio doors were not what was discussed. We asked for some with opening windows at the top. The office staff never sent us any drawing proof before the doors were delivered. We brought this up to the office staff and he accused us of lying. We spent thousands on those windows. Then, there were the handles. We asked them black; they came in white. The office staff could not be bothered to order some in black and asked us to deal with this. Not their problem. Finally point, the windows have hairlines scratches everywhere and they are stained on the inside of both glasses, making it impossible to clean. Overall dreadful and expensive. We would highly discourage anyone to use them. I am referring to the office in Inverness.

Good quality conservatory built at end of last year. All tradesmen pleasant and worked efficiently to a high standard. Sadly communication from management was non existent and we never knew when to expect workers to show up. Phone calls never returned and appeared to be a distinct lack of planning from the managers.

Really bad experience with this company from beginning to end. My advice make sure whatever you agree with them is in writing or beter still don't use them at all. They are also very expensive and there are other quality companies out there.

Not impressed. Phone to make an appointment to arrange windows and patio door for kitchen extension to be told no appointment needed on a Saturday. Wasted a 2 hour round trip to find an appointment is needed on a Saturday. Phone again to arrange a visit and email plans and exact sizes. Arrive at appointment (another 2 hour round trip) to be told they can't do windows in the size I need! No understanding of Planning, joinery or even how to email to let me know beforehand. The only useful thing they did was to suggest another local company who fortunately could see me straight away and who were professional in the extreme (and they use the same profile framing and able to provide my window sizes). Can highly recommend Norscot and suggest Cairngorm Windows invest in some staff training.

Probably the smallest task they will ever get asked to do , However - from the friendly first contact, and the welcome you get stepping thru the door , to the actual getting the job done ( simple remove some corners from perspex) FIRST RATE service and job done. A good guide to a business is how well they treat the small jobs, and these guys were 100% - Courteous and professional - -THANK YOU

After email quote, put order of glass in via reply to email. No response for several days. Phoned and placed order, was told order of glass would arrive 8 days later. 9 days later, phoned to check order and was told it wouldn’t arrive for another 6 days and that they would never have told me it would arrive in 8 days (have email stating 8 days). Really poor service and I haven’t even got the glass yet.

I recently built a new house in the country and used Cairngorm for all windows and doors. Like all companies and products used in the build I picked Cairngorm for their percieved quality and reputation. Unfortunately I had an issue with water coming into my building through an external door. The door in question had a grooved centre panel.By design where the grooves on the centre panel meet the door bottom rail there are gaps in the foam seal. This allows water to enter the bottom door rail, drain down through the rail into the door frame and out the front of the door frame. In bad weather with wind blowing against the door instead of the water draining away the bottom rail filled up with water and the water then escaped out the same holes between panel grooves and foam seal on the inside of the door causing damage. I took this problem to Cairngorm where they acknowledged this is a known problem with this door panel when exposed to bad weather. Their suggestion was to put silicon in the gaps where panel grooves meet the foam seal at the bottom rail or alternatively buy a flat door panel from them which forms a good seal all round and does not have this issue. I believed I should not have to pay for a second panel especially as this was a known issue and the basic requirements of a door or window is to be wind and water tight also Cairngorm market themselves as providing tough products made for the Scottish weather. Even though I raised this all the way to a director of the group they refused to acknowledge it was their problem to rectify and the best they would offer was a new door panel at half price. To water proof my building and prevent further issue I was left with little option but to pay for a new door panel. Based on this problem, my dealings with Cairngorm and their approach to a solition I can’t recoment this company.

Cairngorm conservatories built a conservatory for me in 2009. Since then there have been many problems of leaks, and most of all, problems with water, staining and insects in the polycarbonate roofing. The company also only built 1 drain soakaway but would not build another one on the other side, again, free of charge. The polycarbonate roofing has caused so many problems over the last number of years and the director has refused to accept any responsibility for changing the type of roofing free of charge. He would not even replace the polycarbonate roofing panels due to excessive staining, caused by water inside the polycarbonate tunnels and the many dried insects inside these tunnels too. I would never recommend this company to anyone, after my experiences. Now,te roofing panels are coming apart. Am worried about what happens after the guarantee as the company appreciate to do what is necessary as long as it does not cost them money. When the guarantee is over, what am I to do? They will bill me each time I need to have them out I guess. Really, am totally dis-satisfied with the conservatory roofing and polycarbonate roofing is no good for our climate in UK. My advice is not to touch this company.

We were surprised to see 2 negative reviews of this company, our experience has been 100% positive. We have recently had a new large kitchen and utility room installed by Cairngorm Kitchens and we have been extremely impressed with the whole team. We were warmly welcomed in the showroom and the designer took note of our requirements and gave us a good idea of what Cairngorm could do for us. She visited our property to measure up and listen to our wishes. She then produced a very well thought out design which maximized our floor space and still provided much more storage than we previously had. We opted for supply and install and we were very impressed with the whole package. We had frequent phone calls from the project manager to keep us informed of what was happening next and make sure we were happy with progress. Some of the tradesmen were employed by Cairngorm and others were sub-contracted but everyone involved turned up when they said they would, worked efficiently and cleared up every day. The main installers were amazing - friendly, efficient, tidy and unobtrusive. Everything was very well project managed and it only took 2 weeks from start to amazing finish, including decorating. We were then given 6 weeks to 'live' with the kitchen before the designer made a final post installation visit to make sure we were 100% happy with everything. The quality of the units and appliances is just fantastic. Everything fits perfectly and the finish is faultless. It was expensive but in this world you get what you pay for and it was worth going for the supply and fit option to minimize the disruption and have a superb kitchen in a very short time. We cannot fault this company in any way and we can heartily recommend the Cairngorm Kitchens team.

We first approached the Cairngorm group in August 2015 to explore the possibility of them supplying us with a new kitchen and utility room. The sales staff were very attentive, and on the surface were switched on, very personable, offering to come out and survey our kitchen and were swift to provide us with design ideas and computer generated diagrams and quotations. We were even invited to an open evening to be wined and dined in their showroom and meet their directors. We finally placed our order, and paid our deposit in December 2015 with a delivery date booked for early April 2016. The kitchen arrived on the agreed date after preparation work prior to installation. We chose our own team of installers, as the Cairngorm group’s quotation seemed over - inflated. We also selected our own worktop supplier who was considerably less expensive than the Cairngorm option for the same product. As we started to install the kitchen we noticed there were some errors on the order and that some of the items had not been ordered the correct size, and or damaged or simply had not arrived. We alerted the sales person we were dealing with, first by phone and then by email, and updated her on a daily basis of the items missing/damaged as the boxes were opened and fitted. The Cairngorm group responded first saying it was not their error, but later agreed the items were indeed on our contract and that they would order the missing goods, and that we could expect them within a two week time frame as they had deliveries from their supplier every two weeks. Two weeks came and went, more phone calls and emails….Three weeks, one month…. Totally frustrated we made a visit in person to their showroom to discover what the hold up was. They made the right noises and said that they had assigned someone to deal with our complaint, however it has taken them 11 weeks to finally deliver the goods that were missing from our order, and this was only after a formal written complaint and the threat of legal action. No explaination as to why the delay and no apology. We also discovered a string of mathematical errors, even though their quotes are computer generated (or so we thought, as I have since discovered the final discount deducted from the order is manually generated by the person who is inputting the figures). They also failed to deduct the correct amount of money from updated contracts for goods they could either not supply or we had changed, and were only found out when fortunately we had kept a catalogue print out of a particular items price and saw that only 3 items had been refunded instead of 4! I wrote to the company director flagging up these errors and am saddened to report there is no integrity within his company in upholding what their sales person agreed with us, even though we have a paper trail and proof as such. We would urge any of you who are considering ordering a kitchen through this company to ask for a full breakdown of your kitchen so that all the figures are transparent, keep every email that is sent to you and make sure the discount quoted to you in their showroom is the actual discount given on the final quotation before you sign. In addition if you, or they change anything on your original contract, insist for a full breakdown of the new contract you are signing and do not take it in good faith that the salesperson you are dealing with will not make mistakes, but more importantly will rectify those mistakes. If you are looking for a company who offers good customer service and is able to communicate with you and is efficient, then this is not the company for you. However, we can’t fault the product they supplied us, as it is of good quality. We firmly believe in giving local firms our business rather than the big nationals. It is a both a pity and somewhat surprising that a family business is not more approachable and pro-active in dealing with customer complaints efficiently.

Quite the worst company I have every dealt with. 6 years sinse conservatory installed and it still leaks like a sieve. Floor, blinds and soft furnishings wrecked. Company say it is not their fault it is the roof supplier and so do nothing about it. Endless non returned calls. DO NOT EVER CONSIDER using this company they are sharks, unreliable and untrustworthy. Quality very low but prices high.
