My Solar Panels stopped generating electricity on my FIT tariff. I called several companies hoping for a quote but most wanted to charge a call out fee for hourly ‘fault finding’. I spoke to Steve at Adept who I felt sounded honest and genuine. He provided me with the a quote for a new Inverter and could send someone out 2 days later. Charlie came out to replace the inverter and conduct some checks on the existing installation. He was very polite and respectful and seemed to be very knowledgeable which instilled me with confidence. Before changing the inverter he identified an issue with the voltage and was able to repair a previously damaged wire that had been dangerously ‘cowboy repaired’ by a roofer. He then called out Steve who came out to check things over before Charlie completed the installation and had everything back up and running again at a reasonable price. Very pleased with the workmanship, thorough checks that were completed and all round service provided by both Charlie and Steve. Adept moved my gas boiler and fuse box out from kitchen to garage plus installed a 25 panel solar array with battery storage and UPS. Steve, Dean and Matt did a great job on all this, extremely neat, endlessly helpful and I would not hesitate to recommend them.

The team at Adept-renewables did not undertake the final supply of PV/Battery on our property as we used someone else with a personal connection, however throughout the process of designing a system and forming a comparable quotation they were exemplary in their professionalism, as such we can highly recommend them. In particular they demonstrated flexibility in the custom design process, clear understanding of our particular needs and eagerness to provide the most efficient and cost effective option and work with the newest technology (including sodium ion batteries). Unlike some suppliers, there was no hint of hard sell, obfuscation or empty promises. Just plain, reliable electrical competence. Highly recommend!

Large solar array , three solar batteries and EV charger fitted. Excellent work would recommend. One solar battery needed to be changed, organised promptly and work carried out quickly. Steve was efficient and the paperwork confirming that the installation was carried out in accordance with the necessary regulations was issued promptly. Would use again if we decide on any additional work in the future.

I had a £31.5K 10.25kW solar and battery installation completed by Adept in January 2023. 1/ Wire cuttings and other debris left in my loft. Numerous slate tiles (under the panels) broken. 2/ In demonstrating the switch over to batteries from the grid, Steve pulled out the 100amp cutout fuse. I believe this is illegal as it is part of the DNO’s equipment. 3/ At no point was it pointed out that to comply with current legislation I needed a main switch to isolate the entire installation from the electricity supply. (All electrotechnical workers in the UK must work to the standards set out in the 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations effective Jan 2019). This, I discovered when a British Gas electrician was surveying for an ASHP. 4/ Subsequently Octopus energy (with whom I have my electricity supply) sent an electrician to install this cutoff switch. He was so appalled by the wiring done by Adept that he re-did all of it. 5/ Adept’s contract states: “Following the testing and commissioning of the system, a detailed operating manual will be provided to you within 10 days”. Didn’t happen. Still not received. Even the basic certificates and warranties involved significant chasing up to eventually obtain by email. 6/ Since installation I have a number of issues with the system. Responses from Adept are very slow and, from Steve, usually very condescending in nature. As an airline pilot, my technical understanding isn’t the worst and such responses were unwelcome. 7/ Battery charging didn’t work properly (charging to 100% [indicated] but then continuing to charge at 7 kW for hours. 8/ Steve told me I could not have both the Luxpower “Octopus charge” AND the “Weather optimise” it was one or the other. I wanted the option to use both depending on which tariff I was using. It turned out I was able to have both. 9/ Since installation to date I have regularly had “DC injection high” and “AC voltage out of range” alerts from my Luxpower inverters. Despite many requests, Adept has never even tried to rectify the problem. All they’ll do is remotely update the inverters. Manifestly not the solution. 10/ My installation included 25 panels with TIGO optimisers. After 18 months the optimiser data shows that 4 panels are producing data but not working (zero output) and another 3 aren’t supplying data. I contacted Adept who, after some considerable chasing, told me the optimisers were faulty and not the panels (even though on a sunny day when newly installed the 10.25 kW system would peak at about 8 kW but now hasn’t produced more than 4kW for over a year including all this summer). My Adept contract states: “Where there is a need to claim on a manufacturer’s warranty within the first 2 years we will make the claim from the manufacturer on your behalf and we will replace the faulty equipment free of charge under the manufacturers’ standard terms and conditions.” On 2nd October 2024 I emailed Adept to ask for the Optimisers to be replaced. I eventually received a call on 16th October assuring me new optimisers had been organised. Having heard nothing more and following more chasing emails to Adept I got an email on 11th November 2024 informing me they had the replacements in their office. Attached to the email was an invoice for £900 to install them! I pointed out their contract wording & that Citizens Advice had advised me that the Consumer Rights Act makes an implied term of the contract that goods be "as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose". As I do not believe that roof mounted, solar installation components failing in less than two years satisfies this, I consider Adept has failed both their own contract and the Consumer Rights Act. I have had one email since to try to explain their contract wording, which, no matter how you regard it, is trumped by the Act. So that’s my experience of Adept Renewables. I am left with a very expensive, barely working, solar system and suffered the worst customer service of my life.

From start to finish Adept Renewables have been a pleasure to deal with. Everyone from the phone calls and support to the installation team have made the whole process easy and an enjoyable experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Adept.

Adept Renewables resolved a complex problem with our solar power system. They showed admirable communication, responsiveness and determination. Dean got the system working again and could easily have walked away at that point. However he felt there was still a residual unresolved issue. He was correct and arranged for the inverter to be replaced under warranty. Fantastic service - highly recommended.

We used Adapt Renewables to install an 18 panel, two battery PV system on our property and we cannot fault these guys. From the management team behind the scenes to the guys on the ground doing the install, everyone was welcoming and professional. The install was completed in two days and our system has been up and running for 6 weeks or so now without any issue. We've had a couple of questions and Adapt have always supported us in a timely manner. As an example of just how good these guys are, when installing our panels, Adapt noticed a drainpipe had been dislodged by a wisteria plant. They cut back the plant and re-attached the pipe and just let us know they had done it! They also replaced some broken roof tiles for us whilst they were putting our panels on. Definitely consider getting Adapt round for a quote. From memory, they were very competitive in terms of price and as you can see, the service was exceptional.

I used Adept Renewables for the installation of a solar panel and battery system in September 2022. I have been very impressed by the service given by Steven Hook and his team from initial visit to quotation, installation and follow up support. As an example of the latter there was a problem with the inverter just within its warranty period. Steven came out to check the issue, found that a replacement unit was required and sorted it all out without hesitation. I am a very happy customer and will contact Adept Renewables again for any other renewable energy projects.

Excellent local company who gave me comprehensive advice, a fair price and a well executed installation in August 2023. I've had no complaints with the system or the back-up service from Adept. Always good to select local suppliers versus the national guys to whom you're just another paycheck.

Very pleased with the installation, helpful and informative throughout the process. The fitters were very efficient, clean and tidy on completion. The solar panels are working very well and have more than halved our energy bill.

Had our system for a couple of years now. Did lots of research before choosing Adept. Very happy with our choice. Ultra professional survey and installation. Attention to detail exceptional. The couple of times we have had to contact to upgrade the software ( eg octopus agile settings ) has been easy and quick. Would happily recommend

From our initial enquiry to completion of the order and delivery of our solar panels, batteries and car charger Steven his team were nothing but upfront about prices deliveries etc. Technically excellent and extremely reliable all through the process. . We are delighted with the system and its performance. There have been zero incidents and they’ve even helped us when we’ve had the old software issue with Lux and myenergi. Adept Renewables fitted a solar array and batteries to my house. The whole installation process was very efficiently and timely installed by a friendly and skilled team. I had some questions along the way, which were always answered and explained. My annaual electricty costs are now negative, or in other words, it is free with surplus costs to me, which I use towards my gas costs. Bottom line is would I use them again: the answer is easy: Yes definately.

I had another company fit a solar system to my house and then I decided to significantly increase the capacity (double) and Adept did that for me, including more panels and batteries. The first company were rude, unhelpful, surly and overcharged. They even fitted the wrong panels but had every excuse in the book. Adept were polite, very very helpful, stuck to their price and have provided excellent follow up advice when needed too. I did not realise, but the first company had not fitted the system correctly or registered it. One of the panels was not working. Adept, repaired it, re-fitted it properly and recommissioned the whole thing. You can ask them lay questions and they patiently explain how everything works and never talk down to you. Their price was similar to others and certainly competitive. They went the extra mile. I cannot praise or recommend them highly enough. Given the contrast in experiences I had, I recommend them to everyone who asks, as most people are lay people like me, and Adept’s approach makes a huge difference to the point I would not recommend using anyone else and no, I am not related nor have I been paid to write this review.

We had a very good experience with Adept. They responded promptly to enquiries and carried out the work swiftly and professionally. Our panels were installed just before a bout of sunny weather and appear to working very well!

From start to finish Ben and steve have been great , everything was explained really well ,and the job was done super efficiently by the 2 guys that installed the panels and the battery. I would highly recommend Adept to anyone that requires solar energy.

Fitted full solar system, with batteries, immersion controller and EV charger. Steve was absolutely fantastic from the moment he came round to do the quote. Good advice, and made good attempt to tailor the system to our needs. Work completed within 2 days, and returned promptly for items not available on the day. Later, I used again for my EV charger, no issues, amazing service and decent pricing, would be my go to if I need more work done.

Absolutely brilliant company, has been a really positive experience and a week on the system has been working exactly as described. Free electric, free hot water and free car charging, highly highly recommended. Just wish I'd come across these guys and done this sooner.
