From my experience in having solar panels and battery installed I can highly recommend Solar Voltaics as a very reliable company showing fully professional attentions throughout the survey, design and installation. A special thanks to Alyssa, Gregg and Jake who did more than expected to ensure my compete satisfaction from start to finish.

Update Jan 2026. My original review remains below, reflecting what seemed an excellent experience during specification and installation. Sadly my opinion is different 6 months later. The GivEnergy home battery is monitored and operated on a smartphone app, and SolarVoltaics did not warn us the battery recommended is difficult to re-pair in the common event that you change router. Even their engineers find it difficult sometimes. If warned, my daughter could have chosen a different battery, and/or arranged a new router prior to battery installation and at least not faced this problem for several years. As it was, unfortunate timing of a router change meant she lost operability of the system within a few months of installation and following GivEnergy's guidance was unsuccessful. This is a design flaw, not covered under warranty, and SolarVoltaics charged £336 to restore operability, just six months after installation. SolarVoltaics agree router changes are common, yet do not allow for associated costs in their projections of the economics of their proposals. Tread carefully. Original review summer 2025: "Solar Voltaics were very helpful throughout, patiently responding to my requests for multiple different specifications and quotes for a relatively small job. Despite being part of the national 21Degrees network they retain the great communication of a small local family firm, being easily able to ring and speak to the same person each time (thanks Joanna [Joanna no longer works for SV.1/26]). Scaffolding was erected and removed in good time and Solar Voltaic's installers were all good to have around. I would have no hesitation is using them again, and hope to do so."

Recommended to Solar Voltaics and very pleased I went with them. Very helpful and knowledgable at quote stage, no hard sales tactics which I like. Installation team were fantastic. Due to the weather I had a delay on day one and was kept fully informed. Highly recommended.

I am not technically minded, but I felt excitement and joy when my solar system was commissioned, my battery was not only supplying the house but feeding to the grid within hours, the team were lovely to have on site and meticulous in their work, and solar Voltaics did all the authorisation paperwork for me - the usual headaches for the uninitiated. What a complete pleasure to work with this company!

Lead up to installation was faultless and professional. The installation took place as agreed over two days and was carried out without any problems. We were impressed with the attention to detail with both the installation of the solar panels and the battery and inverter. The handover instructions were comprehensive and we know that Solar Voltaics are available should we require further assistance. The system is working well and we look forward to reducing our energy costs. Once we have a smart meter installed we will also benefit from all the excess electricity generated. In short a professional Five Star service and product from start to finish.

Very happy with the system now. It takes a little while to get to grips with the technology but the customer support was very good post installation. The installation itself was non-intrusive and the team are professional. We put in a battery and EV charger as well and all seamless.

Excellent installation and service from Solar Voltaics. From quotation to completion, we were very impressed with the standard of work and communication. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone considering solar panels with battery storage.

Solar Voltaics stood by me even when I changed my mind and bought another house requiring a new set of figures to be produced. They arranged the scaffolding in good time and arrived promptly when they said they would. On completion, their staff stayed behind explaining all the features of the Givenergy app and what it will do for me. They left the house clean and tidy each evening taking away any waste materials and packaging. Not sure I could ask for anymore and would be delighted to recommend Solar Voltaics to a friend.

Excellent service. We have a difficult roof, with multiple pitches and very little loft space, but the design has worked brilliantly. All our questions and concerns were answered intelligently and helpfully; The installation teams worked swiftly and tidily, leaving no mess anywhere.

From our first communication with Solar Voltaics, after finding their details on Portsmouth City council verified supply list for Solar panels. The whole experience has been pleasurable, from initial contact with Jo on the 25th March a desk top quotation was completed and received on the 27th, after comparing the quotation we had from other suppliers, we placed our order paid the deposit which was held in an approved scheme. The survey to double check the the proposed work was completed and the installation was completed by the 23rd April. Thank you to all who were involved in the installation, a totally professional team.

We recently had problems with our solar panels which were failing to generate electricity and contacted Solar Voltaics as the previous installer was no longer trading. I have to say the team were excellent, from Heather who liaised with us in the office to the engineer who came out to diagnose the problem. We were kept informed and they were very transparent about pricing. It turned out to be a faulty meter rather than the inverter and they installed a new one and provided us with the necessary documentation to pass to our provider. This is my second time in dealing the company as they previously installed a separate solar panel installation from scratch for me ten years ago on another property so I would unequivocally recommend them hands down!

Solar Voltaics have been superb from start to finish. So good to deal with a human company, no phone queues, quick and thorough survey, very clear explanations of the planned installation. The installers were all great, very tidy and quick. The price has been very competitive and the system is up and running well Couldn't recommend them more highly.

Opted for 12 panels, inverter and battery storage. Surveys were done quickly, the price was extremely competitive. I pulled the trigger and within a month and a half I had a very well fitted system. The whole process was very easy, all trade guys were on time and very polite. The Electricians, especially Will, was very knowledgable and very courteous to my Home. Each day they even got the hoover out and cleaned everything as well as taking boots off inside the house. The route to the panels from the batter and inverter were pre agreed, and was very unobtrusive to the rest of the house. In all I’m extremely pleased with the workmanship and ease of this install. Never having done anything like this before I didn’t know what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. Can’t recommend SolarVoltaics enough.

We have recently had a solar panel system including battery and car charger installed and from start to finish our experience has been great. In my experience an excellent company to do business with. Solar Voltaics provided and installed a Tesla Powerwall at my property. Their quote was competitive both on cost and availability. Placing the order was simple, and after order, the admin team kept me informed on progress, DNO approval and expected delivery date. They installed on time. The installation team ensured the installation was tidy and fully functional. Solar Voltaics have, post installation, called to check all is fine. I would gladly use them again for any further solar work.

I was really pleased with the service and products we received from Solar Voltaics. From the initial desktop survey and quote with various options based on our needs, to the in-person survey, quick installation, friendly contractors and technical support. It's truly hard to fault them!

From the initial enquiry to installation Solar Voltaics and their team were great. After the receipt of the original quote to the scaffolding and installation all went smoothly. Very clean and efficient installation team always left the house and area of work clean at the end of each day. Would recommend.

My caution in exploring solar power on our house, was largely caused by apprehension about finding a genuine installer who we could trust. Mike Turner and his team fitted the bill perfectly. We have just had a basic 8 Panel PV installation completed on our garage roof with the electrical bits immediately underneath in the garage. From the initial review at the end of 2022 to the finished product on the 21st March 2023 everything went according to plan. The installation date was scheduled to fit in with our holiday and started with the scaffolding on a Friday afternoon followed by the solar panel installation on the Monday. The electrical work was completed on the Tuesday and we were in business producing electricity! The scaffolding was removed later in the week. All of the people involved were both professional and friendly and kept us involved and informed at every stage. We would be happy to recommend Solar Voltaics Ltd to any prospective customers.
