From the initial consultation to the system being integrated perfectly the entire process was seamless. The team were professional, courteous while on-site and the quality of their workmanship was excellent. Prior to departure they ensured I was completely happy with the installation, it's App operation and even tidied up every bit a debris. It's rare to find such a combination of great workmanship with sterling customer service at a competitive price. I highly recommend this team and would definitely use them again.

Halo Renewables Rock

Halo Renewables have been excellent in all aspects from sales to delivery. The price was attractive but more importantly the quality of the solution. The quotation was detailed and clear which helped to ensure the product was fit for purpose. The installation team were friendly, professional and knowledgeable. In fact in my case, they recommended a battery location which was more work for them to install but ensured there was no h&s issues. Matt was also great to deal with, kept me informed and ensured the system was installed quickly and efficiently.

Do NOT deal with these people. Seriously, stay away. A couple of smug, self-satisfied guys who think they’re the smartest people on the planet. Zero care about actual customers. If something goes wrong, and it will, good luck getting any help. You’ll get exactly ZERO support. Instead you’ll hear a million excuses why it’s YOUR fault, why they’re “super busy” and why they literally cannot do anything for you. Meanwhile they’re happily taking prepayments from the next wave of naive suckers who haven’t read the reviews yet. Save your money and your nerves. 0/10.

HALO Renewables SIGEN-STOR solar battery system

I have today had my SIGEN solar system, panels and batteries, installed by the hard-working team at Halo Renewables. The scaffolding was already in place, but the team of Bradley, Thomas, Luke & Riley arrived at the expected time and battled through horrendous weather conditions to install 16 roof mounted panels and a wall mounted SIGEN inverter and batteries set up in the garage. The communication throughout the quotation process from the Company Director -Matthew was very proactive and non-pestering. The survey that was carried out by the Surveyor -Guy Jackson was thorough and it was obvious that all the information he gathered had been communicated to the installation team when they arrived so they were able to get to work immediately and the resulting installation is exactly what I wanted. In a very competitive market, I would highly recommend Halo Renewables and the SIGENSTOR inverter and battery set up. Make sure you check that your installer has the correct accreditations for installing both panels and batteries as a number of companies are offering services without having the correct accreditation. Halo Renewables had everything that was required for a fully warranted installation.

A really positive experience

First up, I'm a massively difficult customer. I like to understand what I'm buying, and why one thing is better than another. Id spent ages looking into solar, meeting the full range of salesmen, call centre guys and one man band electricians. I had almost decided on an installer, when I came across halo and gave them a call. From the first contact, it was clear Matt's approach was different. He laid out the facts of how his systems could work best, selling generated solar and charging the battery at night. The figures stacked up, and I was reassured that even if the figures for selling change, I'd still have a system which would cover my energy needs. I asked lots of questions, all of which Matt had an answer to. For example, aiko panels are the choice of the moment, but Matt urged a little caution, as they are a newer company and their prices are significantly higher. His recommendation was dmegc, based on his experience, their time in the market and their backup. Again, much research proved him right. Looking deeper, it's not just the quality of the headline kit he uses, but the little things. Clenergy rails, genius flashings, and other touches which would be easy to cut corners on, and most customers would never know, until it failed in a few years. This kit isnt the cheapest, but on each count the stuff Matthews team used proved to be the best you could get. Matthews price was very competitive. Sure I could have saved a few pounds going with a call centre installer, but it would've been a bit risk as to who you'd get on the day. I know it wouldn't be who was best for the job, but who bidded cheapest. From speaking to the office a few times I got a real sense that this was a family business, but was big enough to cope. Companies house backed up that assertion. Finally, knowing the install team are all their own staff, rather than a cheapest bidder generic install team. Install was booked, and guy the surveyor came round. Id already got a good idea of where things could go, but again he respectfully suggested alternatives which made more sense. Install came around fast, and was almost derailed due to the dno dragging the heir heels. My only feedback on halo would be that I did feel my concerns about to having an install completed without the approval in place were minimised. Perhaps it's a normal thing, but for me it felt like a risk. As it turned out the office staff harassed the dno sufficiently to get the approval in place. Install day went really well. Thomasz and Riley cracked on on the roof, with the electrician team getting everything wired up. Lots of questions from the electricians was very welcome as it was clear they wanted the neatest install, taking into account the peculiarities of my house. They even routed wires through a loft to avoid clipping them outside the house. Much slower and more hassle, but much neater and all completed without grumble. The fact they all work together daily was evident. Each knew what the others would need, and it was all ready when it was meant to be. Great teamwork! They kindly hardwired the network connection in for me, to avoid having to use my flaky WiFi. Clearly it was a long hard day, and the weather was frankly terrible, but all were friendly and worked with good humour. I just supplied coffee and biscuits. I couldn't resist a trip up the scaffolding the day after install (I did say I'm a difficult customer!). Everything is really neat and tidy. I understand that installing on slate is particularly tricky, but it looks brilliant. Cables tied out of the way, bird protection clipped neatly in place and the rails installed nicely. I'm really pleased with my install and would absolutely recommend halo to friends. Glad I went with them over one of the call centre style operations who sub out each stage of the install.

From start to finish, the company was very professional, answering all my questions both technical and silly questions On installation day arrived on time and got on with the job ( a great team) Then at the end cleared all things up and Brad ( electrician) explained how to use everything

Our solar experience

From the moment we contacted Halo Renewables we knew we were in very safe hands. We had done a tonne of research before contacting them. Guy, their surveyor came out, quickly got the gist of what we were thinking and checked out our roof. We met with Matt, the owner, who’s knowledge is just superb, and we soon realised the system we thought we needed wasn’t going to be quite big enough and we could have been really disappointed. There was no hard sell as the facts spoke for themselves and we had total confidence to stretch to a slightly larger system, as it just made total sense to do so. But it didn’t end there. WOW, what a team Matt has working for him. Prior to the install we spoke to Ashton and then met with Tommy at their offices, as we had a few additional questions, which they took time to explain, making us feel nothing was too much trouble. The fitters and Electrician turned up on time, they got straight on with the job, each of them introduced themselves as they arrived and talked us through what they would be doing. They were so polite, extremely personable and just such a great bunch of people. Just what you want when you have people you’ve not met before in and around your home. We would like to thank Tomasz and Reilly, who fitted the panels, Luke who helped Brad do the electrics, and Brad who did such a fantastically neat job with the electrics and talked us through the app. Everything was done cleanly, tidily and with no fuss. Excellent company to deal with

After a some research and a few calls with Matt at Halo we took the plunge. So pleased we picked Halo I must say the calls with Matt were so useful and his knowledge swung it for me. Fitted today, lads were on time, explained the install and it was all fitted easily within the day. They helped me set the app up and explained how to use it. We were on Solar at 2pm on a winters day free power, with the battery topping up. I should of done it sooner.

Great company to deal with. We had some real world issues at the time of installation 14 months ago but these were sorted out very quickly. The system, panels and battery have been great. We had an outage a week or so ago and Alfie, Ashley and Tommy got us back online very quickly. Thanks guys, great job.

Highly recommend

Having made enquires of a number of companies, I was fortunate enough to come across Halo. I had very little idea of what I needed but their advice was brilliant (and funnily enough, quite different to the other companies I had had round) They surveyed my property, sorted Building Regulations and other governing companies and installed within a month of my initial contact with them. Their communication was good, the scaffolding gents were efficient and the installation day itself was quick, any difficulties dealt with and gone leaving everything clean and tidy

Best I could find

Matt was very patient with me. He explained everything and even went over it again after I had phoned around to other companies, who tried to confuse me. Luckily I did a lot of research and found Matt was the only one actually being straight forward and honest. No one could match his prices. I was worried it would lead to a sloppy installation but was pleasantly proven unfounded, for when the installation team had finished I was sincerely impressed. Their installation looked good and they had even used some of the good tiles, which they had removed to install the base frame legs, to replace the damaged tiles on my roof, that had nothing to do with their installation. We hit a snag with running the power cables under the crawl space like I wanted but very quickly they found a work around that had the least impact. Everyone in Halo Renewables, that I dealt with, were very professional and knew their jobs.

Halo were pretty easy to deal with and accommodated some extra questions and queries I had. The scaffold, roofing and electrical installation was very fast and everything went where it was surveyed. A good price from an Instagram advert. Will keep an eye long term but no leaks or problems yet!

From the start of the process which was a long chat with Matt to understand what was best suited for my needs to the installation team who even though they were a person down due to sickness the team worked very hard and completed the install in 1 day, Well done to you all excellent service. I would fully recommend this company to anybody looking to get solar panels and batteries installed.

Excellent service and installation

Excellent communication throughout the whole process. The installation was seamless and the team that carried out thebinstall were polite, diligent and worked effectively together to complete the install to a brilliant standard and in a very timely manner. Halo Renewables were then quick to follow up with the completed certification and G99 application letter, MCS certification and HIES documents to allow these to be submitted to my energy supplier to arrange my export tariff. The system installed was a Sigenergy syatem, which is intuitive and seems to be working flawlessly.

Signergy Battery install

From initial quote to surveyor to installation it's been great and just done efficiently. Dno approval received quickly. Battery install until next year when get solar. It was installed in under a day. Neat and tidy wiring on the SigEnergy battery and so far (day 4) it's working absolutely faultlessly.

After many quotes and conversations…

After many quotes and conversations with various solar companies, I switched from looking at the Tesla Powerwall to Sigenergy batteries based on the tech and efficiency, but also the cost. better batteries for less money. So, after several more quotes, I spoke with Matthew at Halo. He was different to the rest. He was more personable, passionate, and confident in the products. He wanted to ensure we went with the best setup with courtesy and patience. His quotes were impressive compared to others. Matt was open about the costs, and within weeks we had a survey carried out by Guy who was another impressive and lovely person. Within weeks the scaffolding was up by a great team, and the installation of 12 x 510w aiko panels and 18kw sigenergy / 6kw inverter / gateway was completed efficiently within 3h45mins. Tomas and his assistant (sorry i cant remember your name) installed the panels and bird protection with speed but also with care and attention to detail. Also, the electricians installed the batteries / inverter / gateway in the exact location with cable routing neatly fitted. They were polite and courteous, and clearly talked me through using the mySigen app to control our use of the energy storage. Thank you to Matt, Guy, Tomas and the rest of the Halo Team, and to the RVL scaffolding team. The whole process has been painless, and I highly recommend Halo.

We had our solar panel and charger system installed in July by the HALO team Now it's November, I feel I can do a review! Firstly we had to bring the installation forward due to an issue on my side as we were going to be away on the dates we agreed. Matt and the team fit us in so it was all complete before we went away so that was great. The team who did the installation were all lovely- from the scaffolding team to the electricians and the panel installers. I work from home in a quiet village and felt safe with all of the workers around the house and going into the loft etc. Installation was smooth and the system worked and we were really happy with it all. A couple of weeks later we had rain and I noticed an issue with the overflow. We also noticed that our system was tripping and we were concerned. I did have to reach out a few times and chase which caused me some concern especially with the cost of it all. Brad the brilliant electrician and another chap came out after I was given his direct number and was an absolute star. Brad found the issue with the overflow on the pipe - it was blocked leaves and then he reviewed our set up and they tightened something and we have had no tripping ever since with the power system. We are overjoyed now! I think the fact that I had to chase is because they are busy company and coordinating lots of activities but my one comment to them is to follow up and check how it's all going- a bit more aftercare. We found that up until recently the solar is paying for itself -so from July to November no energy bills. We are now seeing a bill but it's well over half the cost of the usual bill for this time of year. I would recommend Halo, they were all lovely, especially Bradley who did fix the issues we reported! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

I want to make it clear that this review is not about the technicians who installed my solar panel system, but about the overall way this company operates. They are great at communicating during the sales process, but once the installation is complete, they become completely unreachable. You can’t get through to them because you always end up on voicemail, and they don’t respond to emails. I had an issue with my system and waited a month and a half for a promised electrician visit, which I only got after countless follow-ups. For context, their office is just 31 miles from my home, and they claimed to be a local company that’s “always there to help.” On the scheduled day, no one showed up. I waited all day, and they didn’t even call or send a simple message. Worse, I’ve been trying to contact them for a week now with no response—phones go unanswered, and emails are ignored. Matthew Stevens and Elizabeth Milligan, who were so active during the sale, have completely disappeared. Good luck with your business, guys. update 22/09/2205. I had to update my review and not in the way I hoped. I was expecting a quick fix and maybe an apology, but what happened went beyond anything I could imagine. You might read the polite, polished response from the company and think, “Mistakes happen; only those who do nothing never mess up.” But it turns out that was just a lie. The business owner started texting me, saying it wasn’t fair to leave a one-star review, and… they won’t do anything about it because I left a negative review, and they’ll report me to HIES! I’ve attached the conversation. My experience with this company shows that, even after 13 years in the industry, some people haven’t learned to solve problems and would rather act offended than fix the issues they caused.

Big thanks to Halo Renewables, Peterborough. Four weeks post-commissioning and I’m delighted with their installation and the performance of our system, a 23 panel (2 strings, bird-protected) array and, from Sigenergy, 2 x 8 kWh batteries, a 10kW Energy Controller and EV Charger. All stages of the process went very smoothly, from my initial enquiry thru online quote, on-site survey and installation, thru to handover. Mathew was always very prompt to respond to my questions and their use of electronic docs and signatures really kept things moving along. Nine weeks after first contact the install was completed by 3 people, all worked as quietly and tidily as you could hope for, and kept external cabling to the absolute minimum. The modularity and neatness of the SigenStor is a real leap forward from the 18 month old ‘multiple-boxes-on-the-wall’ GivEnergy setup of a mate of mine, also satisfactorily installed by Halo. Now looking forward to seeing how it works out for us over the winter months.

20 panels, 16kwh battery, Iboost and Car charger installed, few issues during the install all of which were fixed instantly with no fuss, all up and running with no issues. Install team were great and kept me informed on what was going on left the house clean and tidy. Highly recommended

Just had my solar system fitted by Halo Renewables and I honestly couldn’t be happier. From the first chat, Matthew really knew his stuff – explained everything clearly and gave me solid advice without any pushy sales talk. The install was smooth and quick, the lads were polite and professional, and they even took the time to show me exactly how to use the system. I went for a Sigenergy setup with 3 batteries (24kWh) and 28 panels – already seeing the benefits! All the paperwork and certificates were sorted straight away, and I was shown how to export back to the grid which was a huge help. Top company, top team – highly recommend them if you’re thinking about solar.

From my initial contact with Halo Renewables, Matt has responded quickly to questions,and giving advice to what product would be suitable for my property. We agreed to a price and booked it in. Scaffolders came and set up, being aware of a new patio and protecting my property. Today, the team from Halo attend my property and absolutely smashed it out the park. Nothing was too much trouble, quality workmanship and polite and friendly throughout. I purchased Solar Panels from this company before so made sense to get Car Charger from them. I ordered the car charger in May and was eventually got a installation date of 24th June; after a lot of chasing. I took a day of work for this as I had been waiting for a long time. On the day I rang in the morning to ensure the installation was happening. I was told it would be. I rang again in around 5pm to say no one had turned up and no one rang with an update. I was told the Electrician will not be coming and could come tom. I told them I was going to London for a Business trip so could not do it but could do Thur or Fri. They said they could not do this and will ring back. Again no one rang and I had to chase again and again. I was told they were booked for weeks and could not offer anything until maybe September 🙁 This is really poor service and I wish I had not used this cow boy outfit 🙁 So, I would suggest you use someone else then this company to other as they are very keen to take the order (Mark Montgomery) but not very good in delivering or responding. Not very professional. I am still waiting to hear from them 🙁

Too traumatized by Halo Renewables to write in too much detail. Had my system installed by them in 2022. Things went wrong from the get go. My contact Tommy was not there on the day of install even though he spoke to me the day before. The roofer arrived with no drawings as agreed with the roof surveyor, which he said happened to him a lot, and refused to place the panels as agreed with the roof surveyor. He pushed me to have the panels where he wanted and complained because I had asked him to leave space for a roof window (which had been discussed with the roof surveyor). He refused to allocate the space for the roof windows and I relented to keep the peace. He broke a roof tile badly and asked me to get my normal roofer to replace the tile. He would not take a pic to show me where it was, presumably as that meant evidence against him. My roofer did find it and it was in very bad shape. Had issues with VAT as they charged me VAT and took many emails and advice at legal action to get it refunded. Had issues with my system and again had to email so many times in order for them to come out. Halo are very good at ghosting. 2023 had issues with an inverter and by stroke of luck managed to get them to install a new GEN3 inverter and battery. That went smoothly shock horror. The electrician Jim is great ✅✅✅ 2025 Feb I contacted them to add on to my current system. Tommy said he would get back to me in a couple of days and never did. I chased and spoke to Matthew. He said he would speak to GivEnergy and get back to me. He never did and never replied to any of my emails. June 2025 I called. Was hung up on twice. In 2023 when I was calling to buy a new inverter and battery (easy jobs), someone else other than Tommy called back straight away as he saw the misses calla. Best to hide your number and they will pick up straight away ie when it comes to Tommy. Halo are very good at ghosting and very poor at communicating. They have much to learn. Overall the electrician Jim was the best part of the whole experience, the ghosting and non communication was highly stressful. Halo have all these certifications HIES, NAPIT etc and yet they frequently ghost and are selective in when and if they call back.

Just had my solar panels and battery installed by Halo. The team worked hard, were polite and respectful of my house, they did a great job and had everything fitted and working much faster than I expected. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Halo - and I've already asked them to quote on another project.

We have used Halo recently after a lot of thought whether to retrofit a battery system to my already installed solar or not. After a very informative and knowlegaeble conversation with Matt about costs, installation process and benefits we decided to proceed. I did try to research other company's however the knowlege and customer service were lacking. We were given a date for survey and installation which were agreed and met with no issues or delays. On installation day the guys arrived on time and were very professional in their approach. They were also very knowledgeable about the products they were installing as i had many different questions throughout the day. They helped me get online to the system and explain all functions, with the comfort of being able to ring the team at any point to discuss any issues or queries going forward. We are now looking into installing more solar products from the team in the coming months and wont be looking anywhere else. Great work to everyone involved. Many thanks

I am absolutely thrilled with the solar and battery installation carried out by Halo Renewables. The entire process, from start to finish, went like clockwork. The team that conducted the installation worked exceptionally hard and made sure to consult me on the positioning of various components, ensuring everything was done to my satisfaction. Today I had a second GiveEnergy battery installed to a system previously performed by E. On, the installation was neat but there were issues with the manufacturer software that delayed completion of the commissioning process. James and Kenzie remained on site liaising with the manufacturer until the software issues were remotely resolved and the calibration process was underway. James and Kenzie were friendly and professional and kept me fully informed as to exactly what was going on. Thank you. I'm so glad I'm now a customer of Halo Renewables instead of E.on.

Halo Renewables were the winning bid when it came to installing my solar system back in 2020. They were incredibly helpful during the process and happy to answer many of our questions and queries at every stage. They installed the system quickly and as agreed at the design stage and set the remote connectivity for us to remotely view the production in real-time. The system has been live for over two and half years now and I am happy to say that their promises about post sale service is top notch. They answer queries quickly and advise on future upgrades or deals. Edit: 04/03/2023. I have been trying to arrange a SolarEdge optimiser replacement under warranty with Halo renewables ltd for nearly 6months now but so far only empty promises. It has gone to the point where SolarEdge is chasing me to try and get another installer and organise the part replacement. I will update this review if anything changes but for now, I would avoid if you care about after sale service.

Great installation from Matt and the Halo team. A GivEnergy dual battery and inverter solution to supplement my existing PV system. The solution is AC coupled so I can keep my FIT tariff. The work was tidy and accurate, and carried out as soon as the equipment was available.

Matthew and his team did a great job looking after us after we made the decision to install solar panels and batteries. The 13 panels were installed by Andy & Thomas 4 weeks after our order was placed. They were very friendly and efficient. Matthew & Tommy explained an issue with supply of our original inverter and battery equipment but offered an immediate alternative which was just as good. Our equipment was installed and commissioned by Jim & kenzie just 6 weeks after the solar panels and 3 days after my conversation with Matthew about the alternative equipment. After 4 days of running with no problems I can wholeheartedly recommend Halo Renewables. Great job guys :-)

First off a massive thank you to Matt, Tommy and the guys for my Solar and Battery setup. I had been unsuccessful finding a company who could provide a larger install against my own requirements and provide a GIVENERGY solution instead opting to try and force me to use their own easy for them solution. Finally I came across Halo who were listed by GIVENERGY as an advanced installer (they are not wrong!). From the start Matt was able to talk about their panels and the GIVENERGY battery system how it will integrate with my house and deliver exactly what I want from it. The hoped to install soon however COVID got in the way. Frustrating for them as well as me! finally we were good to go but there was a battery config issue due to stock limitations. A good chat with Matt and we were able to make a few changes at the same cost. I then added another battery because it made sense to me to go higher along with adding a Zappi as our EV had arrived early. Once all confirmed it wasn't long before the scaffold went up and Jim and Andrew were on site putting in a long day getting 16 panels up, a full Inverter + 20Kwh battery system installed. I just kept the kettle on the go! On the day there was an issue with the provided Zappi which Jim rejected as it was damaged. Although this was now a delay I am glad he put me first rather than trying to fit a damaged product. Since install there have been no issues but plenty of contact from Matt and team. In March we had some great days and the solar was hitting 7Kwhs often along with the 20Kwh battery keeping us running through the night and providing a buffer for those darker sky moments. I had to wait a few weeks for the Zappi but it came in the end and was quickly installed. Then it was over to Tommy who has worked hard on the DNO and documentation which has been all correct and well received. as soon as I get the DNO approval I will be able to start getting paid for the excess I am putting back into the network during those really good days. As a house that goes over 20Kwhs a day the new 6.4Kwh PV and 20Kwh battery is going to make a huge difference to us along with getting that free electricity into the EV. I am already considering upping the battery and potentially another charge point. I will be using the Halo team again. Solar and Battery installs are a large financial investment so it is important you find the right supplier. I highly recommend Halo to design and deliver the correct solution for you.
