Knowledgeable and professional - highly recommended

The Natural Energy Company recently installed our Daikin air-to-air heating system plus solar panels (ground-mounted) and Sigenergy battery system (3 phase). From the beginning of the process their quick and helpful responses to our queries made us comfortable that they were very knowledgeable and capable of understanding our requirements and the particular challenges of our property. They listened and proposed tailored solutions that would work for us. There was good communication on when we could expect the works to begin and the installation itself was carried out very professionally and tidily. Great aftercare too in making sure the controls were all explained and follow ups to check everything was working well – which it has been! All paperwork (MCS certification, DNO notification etc) handled by them with no fuss. We put our trust in the Natural Energy Company and are very happy with the outcome. Would highly recommend.

A first class company…

I have just used the Natural Energy Company to manage the installation of some Solar Panels. Firstly they are recommended by octopus and I can see why. What a thoroughly professional, courteous and knowledgeable team. I felt safe in the knowledge they would do a fabulous job and they didn’t let me down. Thankyou to everybody involved from the initial site visit, the office communications, the roofing team and finally the electricians that wired and tested everything. A shout out to Ryan and Jack the electrical team who were so exceptionally happy and helpful- an absolute credit to the company. My panels are fantastic and look wonderful on the roof of my home. Can’t thank you enough for your care and obvious pride in doing a first class job. Would thoroughly recommend.

Professional tidy and knowledgeable workforce

Very professional company with a good knowledgeable team of installers whose workmanship was first class. Unfortunately some of the parts supplied by Valiant to integrate the wi fi with the main control system were incompatible and took some time sorting out with Valiant and Natural Energy. During this time however the system worked and I was able to get a good insight into how effective the system was going to be and can now monitor and control it via the app.

The installation of our 2nd Tesla Powerwall went very well recently. The same team of engineers who did the initial fit-out were back to allow us to double our battery capacity in order to maximise our South facing Solar Panel output. This has been a success with a high proportion of days since then has seen our batteries full and managing to export to the grid while hitting 99/100% self powered numbers. Thanks to the weather and the bright if not always sunny days. Thanks to the installation team for their skilled efforts and their impeccable focus on cleanliness, leaving everything spotless when they left. Thanks also to the NEC team who provided guidance, knowledge and ongoing support through the project.

We had a Heat Pump installed by the Natural Energy Company in July 2024. Care was taken with the design of the system with calculations on the output of the system and the requirements for upgraded radiators. The installation was very good and there were no issues afterwards. The system has been working perfectly and has kept the house very warm through some very cold weather throughout the winter, down to minus 10 degrees centigrade some days. Very happy with the system, plus electricity costs have been reduced.

Poor standards

David convinced us that he could provide a system to heat two adjacent 200-year old buildings by running connecting pipes underneath stone steps that separated the two buildings would be “no problem”. Given a previous poor review about subcontractors doing the work, we asked specifically if he used subcontractors. When asked specifically about this, David promised that he only used his own staff. On the day of installation, 3 subcontractors arrived! They no longer work for him. First a 7KW Daikin was recommended. Later a 7KW Vaillant is better. One working day before installation, this must be a 10 KW Vaillant (which he had in stock). When it arrived, it was twice the size of the one we agreed! Next, it couldn’t be installed in the agreed place, but in a flower bed and not parallel to the house. The ASHP drains onto the concrete, 4” away from the soakaway hole. Then the pipes couldn’t be run under the steps (no builder!), so they went over the steps (looks ridiculous!), especially with white trunking that can’t take weight! It cost £500 to sort but David refused to contribute. It took weeks to commission and even longer to get it registered and the app working. Finally, we were misinformed that a maintenance contract (with his sister company) was required immediately for the warranty to be valid. Update: My negative review on the 'Renewables Installer Finder' has been removed: "We have been contacted by your ASHP installer, The Natural Energy Company, who has suspended your review on the Renewable Installer Finder website."

A seamless install of ASHP, Solar PV and Battery within a week all while during a renovation and conversion. Communication was excellent from all parties at The Natural Energy Company from initial consultation, liaising with external trades, through to completion and beyond. I couldn't recommend enough and the knowledge and advice has been second to none.

I recently had solar (22 panels) and battery (Tesla Powerwall 3) installed by The Natural Energy Company, the process was made simple from the off. From design to install the support I received was second to none, regular check in from the team, I was never left wondering what was going on. On install week the on site team were excellent, really accommodating and didn’t waste anytime “throwing” the panels up. Detailed handover from David leaving me confident on how best to utilise my system moving forward. An excellent company to deal with!

Quick response with a comprehensive & competitive quotation to install a Tesla Powerwall. Richard came to do a site survey and patiently answered all my questions. Work to install the battery was carried out quickly and to a high standard (as expected as they are one of the very few Tesla-approved installers in North East Scotland). Communication and service pre & post sale and my overall experience with The Natural Energy has been excellent - highly recommended! I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

Daikin Air source heat pump install detached old house

Excellent communication and information from this company throughout the design and installation of the air source heat pump. Disruption was kept to a minimum, despite it being a fairly major job in this case (new pipework and radiators as well as the heat pump). How well air source heat pumps perform is very sensitive to the system design (i.e. how the heat pump is connected to the radiator system, sizing of radiators etc) and this is something that The Natural Energy Company did very well and took great care over - after a winter with the heat pump the running efficiencies are very good, and the house has been lovely and warm the whole time - and more comfortable than it was with the previous oil boiler.

A hugely supportive and professional approach

Throughout a fairly protracted process in which we were looking for a large amount of information and support on processes and systems which were alien to us, and throughout delays for planning consent and funding applications, the Natural Energy Company were patient, helpful and consistently professional. As a company they are extremely positive to work with and offer a tailored experience based on your need and circumstances. There is huge merit in operating like this, and it sets them apart from many. I would never hesitate to recommend them to others looking to manage their energy requirements.

Great company who know what to do when…

Great company who know what to do when it comes to ASHP and Solar Panels with a Tesla battery. Would recommend. Installed both an ASHP, Solar Panels with a Tesla battery. 12 months ago and with two warm winters. All works well, saves power and provides energy when we have grid outages.

The Natural Energy Company are helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and provide a complete service for Air sourced heat pumps, photovoltaic cells and battery storage. From start to finish they were professional and efficient. The systems were installed snoothly on the agreed dates. We recommend them.

Air Source Heat Pump Installation

Air Source Heat Pump Installation Professional from start to finish. Installation done with minimum of fuss and disruption. Very neat job considering the tight confines of the space they had to work in. Storm Babet hit during the work and the team worked around it as best they could to progress with the install. System appears to be working well and we have a lovely warm house and hot water. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Natural Energy Company.

Air Source Heat Pump Working Well in Scotland

Despite all the doubts expressed in the media, the Air Source Heat Pump installed by the Natural Energy Company works well in my house (in Broughty Ferry). A survey before any quotation established the size of the rooms, the insulation that was present, and the heat loss from each room. From this the size of the Heat Pump, and number and size of radiators required was derived. I did have to have new larger bore pipe work put in, but though this did add to the time required for installation, it was not as disruptive as I had feared. When the award of the government grant was confirmed, the Company were kind enough to fit me in almost immediately at the end of last September so that the work was done before the winter. I can adjust the heating in each room by thermostatic radiator valves. The heat pump itself is NOT noisy, and was installed at the back of my house in the position I had asked for. When I had a warning alarm appear just before Christmas, the Company responded immediately, and came within an hour to fix a small problem that had occurred with the heating in the water cylinder - the space heating in the radiators was not affected. Overall I am well pleased with my Heat Pump, and the Natural Energy Company!

Do yourself a favour and speak to The Natural Energy Company if you are thinking of green energy solutions, in my opinion they are the best.

I definitely made a great decision to work with The Natural Energy Company for installation of my solar and battery solution, I would highly recommend them without hesitation ahead of any other suppliers in this market. As a company they are professional and passionate about what they do and why. I spoke with a number of potential suppliers and felt that all others had a standard sales pitch (akin to double glazing salesmen from the past) without listening to my requirements or providing honest and accurate answers to my questions, from the early stages The Natural Energy Company stood out as a trustworthy company that acts with integrity. The solution and products offered by The Natural Energy Company were based on listening to my requirements and providing great expert advice, leading to a superior solution meeting my needs. The communication and instillation was great from start to finish, small things make a big difference, for example any roof tiles that cracked during installation which inevitably will happen were pointed out by the installation team and replaced immediately, in contrast many friends that have used alternative suppliers and have had to argue to get such issues fixed. Similarly I have had no post installation issues and great follow up from The Natural Energy Company to ensure everything is ok and check if I have any post installation questions etc. My system simply works very well as expected, again many friends have faults with their systems from alternative suppliers and have difficulty getting these resolved post installation. I would also recommend the Tesla battery which works brilliantly, looks great externally (most battery’s have to located indoors which takes away significant space), can power our home during power cuts (alternatives need mains power to operate so don’t work during a power cut) and it has adequate capacity, a common complaint from friends is their alternative battery’s do not have sufficient capacity to meet their needs.

The Natural Energy Company

The Natural Energy company led the project to install an air source heat pump, PV and Tesla battery for my bungalow. The Project Engineer and other staff always provided a rapid and helpful response to my calls and emails. Demonstrated a detailed knowledge of the technology involved. They informed us that to validate the Home Energy Scotland grant for the installation, we must meet MCS approval for the equipment and installation. Their knowledge and advice on this topic was essential. NEC automatically provided all of the documents required for the grant application, which eased our passage through a complicated process. The Natural Energy company organised with the network operator, to allow my solar panels to export into the grid. The plumber and heat pump installer, were good at their job, punctual, polite and helpful, and worked very hard, with a good result. The electricians, were very competent and sorted out my complicated Total Heat Total Control electrical supply. We had the odd problems to solve, on the way to completing a complicated installation, but all resolved to our satisfaction. We would definitely use them again, and would recommend them to other customers.

Our experience of The Natural Energy Company was just brilliant. From our initial enquiry to the completed heating system installation everything was completely stress free. The advice we were given was very considered and every stage of the installation was explained clearly. Everyone involved with the project was extremely friendly, professional and a real joy to have working in our home. We are now cosy and warm and free from fossil fuels. Hooray.
