I'm late with my review of Sungift because I wasn't sure about the products they installed. Now that I know that the replacement battery installed because the original one was defective is also defective it's obvious that you should consider very carefully whether Sungift are the company for you, particularly if you are considering a storage option. First off if you have a slate roof I wouldn't recommend them at all. The installation took way longer than expected and they've had to come back a couple of times because of slates that were broken but were under the solar panels. The first battery started failing after about 18 months but it took ages to get the problem resolved. Sungift hid behind the manufacturer of the battery saying it was down to them and then when a replacement was agreed Sungift wanted to charge me the labour to swap it out. When I pointed out that I was protected by consumer legislation I was told they would waive the charge as a goodwill gesture. I actually didn't have to pay anyway and Sungift should be aware of this if products that they sell fail within a reasonable period. The replacement battery is now also defective so I would caution anyone proposing using Sungift to be very thorough in their diligence about what happens if the products fail. Goods have to be of a "Satisfactory quality and fit for purpose". That's not been the case with this installation.

Ross B helped us spec and design a system to meet our requirements within the constraints of our property. We are very happy with the products and performance (panels, battery, gateway and diverter). The preparation was painless and the installation was great. The team were super kind and friendly and even stayed late on a Friday to get us up and running for the weekend which was going above and beyond (Frazer?). They installed additional cabling for an electric car we don’t even have to future proof the installation. It all looks very tidy. Great job! Full confidence.

I've used SunGift Solar in a professional capacity and now a personal one. On each occasion I've found the SunGift team to be excellent communicators and very efficient installers; always keeping us updated with progress and working hard on our behalf. I would recommend SunGift to any company or individual considering an investment in Solar energy (and by extension, a more sustainable future!).

Excellent service by SunGift Solar. sensible and understandable advice given. no pressure selliing. The installers were also excellent at installing the solar battery. They were very pleasant and knowledgeable. the work area was left cleaned and tidy and explanation given of the work completed, together with helpful advice on using the App.

Excellent and professional to deal with. This is the second property that su gift have installed solar panels for us. The communication was clear and kept us well informed of the installation process. We consider Sungift provide a friendly and good value service and we are pleased to have supported a local firm who we are more than happy to warmly recommend.

We had a great experience with Sungift, Phil helped us through the process to get all the boxes ticked before the install. That does take a while. The install took about 2 days and now we are reaping the benefits. They did a really neat job. We're thrilled.

This is an update of my view of SunGift Solar Ltd since my original review dated 19 Jul 2025. That original review is a record of my unfortunate experience with SunGift at the time and it is an experience that can't be undone. However, SunGift Solar has since assigned a managing director to overhaul the provision of maintenance and service and I have received welcome reassurances that, should I need any assistance in maintaining my solar installation in the future, I feel confident I will receive prompt and efficient service. I am therefore happy to submit this more favourable review as a record of my positive recent interactions with the company.

The installers that did work on your property: Fraser Nye, George Slade, Richard Bosworth and Jordun Hunt. You are a credit to the company you work for, great job and working well. I would highly recommend.

Trouble free from start to finish. We never received any pushy sales technique, just jargon free information as and when we needed it. Installation was complex but never impacted negatively on our daily domestic routine. Special thanks to the installers Fraser and his team Mo, Meg and Danny. Very pleased with Sungift Solar from start to finish. Staffs very professional and helpful.

We are absolutely delighted with our solar installation by SunGift. From start to finish the experience has been very professional and the system is delivering what we hoped for. We have not yet used a Kw from the grid. We initially discussed our requirements with Jay who gave good advice, was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions. The installation team were very friendly, polite and provided us with a good handover of the system. The project management team, in particular Jenny, were very helpful, and kept us well informed of progress. Sungift sell market leading products. I would not hesitate to recommend them I was provided slightly cheaper quotes by other companies but after analysis found they were providing inferior products.

Sungift solar installed a solar array and battery in a rental house and Phil was particularly good at keeping all of us informed of progress from design to installation and completion. Their workmanship is exceptionally good, and I think they were reasonably priced. If you’re looking for solar to be installed in your home, I have no issue with recommending Sungift solar as your company.

Really happy with our installation of a 12kW SigenStor inverter, inc. 16kWh of battery storage, the EVDC charger and gateway by Dave, Meg & Zak, including integration with an existing 9kW heat pump. The whole process was managed start-to-finish by Jay & Simon with any questions/changes handled without issue. Highly recommended!

Sun Gift Solar came in to install a solar system on our bungalow, the team were absolutely brilliant! All the team were extremely professional and polite, they tidied up when they had finished so you could not tell they been in the building. The entire process was completed in a day, and we were kept informed about what was happening at every stage of the install. The team are are a credit to Sun Gift Solar and would be welcome back here anytime.

We have been delighted by the service provided by SunGift Solar when installing a new array, battery & EV charging point at our property. Phil Langdon conducted a very thorough survey of our property, which even included a video showing the scaffolders how to access the garden and the installation area. The installation was conducted professionally and although there were a few minor teething problems, these were quickly sorted without fuss. Phil has kept in touch throughout the process and after the install was complete. Of particular note was his observation that the output on our original array had been capped due to Grid restrictions at the time, which we had forgotten about. He had been monitoring our Metrics to ensure the system was working as effectively as possible, and noticed the cap. Thanks to him we are now getting this restriction lifted, which will make our system even more productive. We have no hesitation in recommending SunGift Solar.

Sungift Solar really helped us after we were let down by another company. Sam Rager understood the position we were in, needing a n urgent inspection of the solar panel system in a house we are purchasing. Sam was proactive and when an opportunity arose he got the inspection done 4 days early and the report was also just as quick. The report was explained clearly by phone before we received it so we would have a clear picture of the situation. We will definitely use this company to do the repair works and additional future works. We really appreciated the support and the extra mile Sam went to help us.

We have dealt with SunGift solar for 7 years and have found them to be knowledgeable, efficient and always courteous. We recently had a fault with our Tesla battery, which was dealt with very quickly. The professional team explained and helped set up the Tesla App. We cannot speak more highly of the company and would not hesitate in recommending them.

SunGift added a battery, inverter and uninterruptible power supply switch to the existing solar panels previously installed by them during the new house build. The fitting was efficient and tidy, good quality work throughout. The battery works seamlessly as intended, we're currently using zero from the grid, charging the battery from the panels and once full, sending surplus to the grid. We've even had a short power cut in the area which proved the UPS works perfectly, all systems in the house switched over instantaneously with no appliances to reset and our alarm didn't trigger a false alarm as many neighbours' did, it just kept on monitoring as it should. We've had a minor issue with Internet connectivity, which SunGift have been very helpful in sorting. Very satisfied customers, happy to recommend.

Sungift Solar are experts in their field and will help you create the perfect system for your needs. From the very beginning of my solar journey they were available with advice and support. Communication, knowledge, reliability and workmanship were outstanding. Staff are generous with their time and very approachable. Particular thanks to Phil for going that extra mile. Massively appreciated your input setting up my system for maximum payback. It feels amazing to be generating my own electricity and requiring virtually nothing from the grid.

SunGift Solar recommended installer

SunGift Solar installed PV panels under the HUG2 scheme together with a battery. My roof required strengthening and they carried out this work quickly and efficiently before installing the solar system. All work was carried out on time and the engineers were always polite. Overall, very happy with the experience so far and have already recommended the company to a neighbour!

The Team and Jay especially are very helpful my install was efficient professional and polite too I would say if you are looking for solar speak to them a local company you can trust 👍🏻

Works well, nice people!

Very impressed with SunGift's planning and installation service, my wife says the politest fitters ever! Panels work well, the scaffold was taking down 2 after install so that's good too! Because we had these installed under the government's HUG2 scheme a third-party contractor based in Bristol, they were responsible for the handover rather the SunGift themselves. initially, the contractor didn't pass over the documentation we needed to allow us to start Exporting (this was the contractor's error, not Sungift). After several sessions of email tennis, the contractor finally sent the documentation, alas for completely the wrong address! Luckily a very helpful lady at National Grid was able to sort it out for us and send us the correct certificate. Be warned it could be several weeks before you receive the necessary paperwork to allow you to 'export' back to your energy provider.

Failed optimiser

I recently had issues with a failed optimiser on one of my solar panels. SunGift dealt with it promptly and efficiently. Amelia kept me informed every step of the way and provided prompt responses to my queries. I thoroughly recommend them.

Solar panel service and review

I used Sungift to service my solar panels and provide a report on their efficiency as they were coming up to 12 years old. The guys arrived on time, were very professional in the way they did their work and the report was comprehensive and delivered quickly. Many thanks.

Customer Service? What Customer Service!

This is a story of two halves. In September 2023 I had a large Solar Panel ground array and a Huawei battery storage system installed at my address by Sungift Solar. The planning and installation were conducted seamlessly and professionally with my point of contact within the company. Even after the installation any fine tweaking to the system was undertaken remotely by my contact within the company. Unfortunately that contact left the company at the end of November. With the onset of winter I needed to have some adjustments undertaken to the battery storage equipment in order to make the most of the cheap overnight tariffs. These minor adjustments can be undertaken remotely but only by companies who have installer rights. Having had no response to my initial email I sent a further two emails requesting the changes to be made. As I had not received any replies I thought the company may have ceased trading, so I contacted them by telephone. Promises were made to have the adjustments made, but nothing happened. So I phoned again. Same thing, promises made zero action. I emailed for a fourth time and made a formal complaint about the lack of customer service. Absolutely no response. I am now going directly to the manufactures to see if they can assist. If you value customer service avoid this company like the plague. If they can’t be bothered to respond to a minor issue or even a complaint in respect of the lamentable customer service, I doubt you will get any joy if something substantial goes wrong. It all stated so well but it appears that the contact I had within the company was the only one who had a sense of customer service. Such a shame he left. I certainly would use Sungift Solar for any further work.
