The element in our oven stopped working so we called R. B. Grant to ask them to send an engineer. We had to wait a couple of weeks for the appointment but the engineer arrived on time and completed the work in half an hour. All very efficient and straight forward.

Twice now we've had a no show due to 'illness'. No contact was made other than by email to my husband who is not even in the UK right now... looking through past reviews, this seems to be a common occurrence... I was promised a call back but never received one. I'm expecting the owner to leave a rude response to my review as it appears when they get things wrong, they become defensive and dismiss any accountability. Human beings get ill, yes, but owners/management/administration need to be far more professional in their response and actions. I waited 3 hours before calling and I only found out about the email recently because of the time difference where my husband is. If I ever do get a call back, I'll let the good people of Google reviews know, but I'm not holding my breath. On the plus side, the technicians are genuinely lovely but I imagine this is a nightmare of a company to work for if this is how they treat customers. PS. RGB owner, the email said your team left a voicemail. I don't have voicemail.... so I don't know who they called, but it wasn't me.

I highly recommend this company. They did a totally fantastic job of fitting solar panels;battery; inverter;fuse box; thermal iboost, and ev car charger. The team worked really hard and were respectful;tidy and gave excellent advice in an easy to understand way and in no way condescending to a woman. They were highly professional. Excellent and prompt , courteous response from the office staff as well. Michael and Jed problem solved some complications, they both worked through their lunch break to finish everything up neatly and efficiently. Both are a great example of qualified electricians.

!!AVOID!!

Absolute cowboys. We booked them to repair an eletric shower after the woman on the phone said they repair eletric showers. The bloke came out spent five minutes looking at it just to tell me it's broken, no shit sherlock! He had no spare parts, no idea which part wasn't working, and said that eletric showers are a plumber's job. Why did they accept this repair if they were never going to repair it? We then got an invoice a few weeks later for the call out charge, and ONE HOUR of labour despite the electrician only being at our house for twelve minutes. Thiefs, avoid them.

Professional installation let down by poor handover.

Initial sales estimate and order were good. Installation was when quoted and professionally carried out. The only major deficiency was in testing and the post installation handover which was poor. They should have had a post installation customer checklist and sign off before leaving the site. I had to follow up with the company several times to get some faults corrected ( not properly tested ) and have an engineer explain how to operate the system and use the monitoring application. The system is now working fine and saving me money.

Second time we've used them - very happy

Second job we've had from RB Grant (first was replacing a faulty solar generator meter). This time we called them out as an emergency after one of our wall sockets melted. The electrician arrived today, quickly identified the issue and put my mind at ease that it was a localised problem rather than a widespread fault with the electrics in the house. Socket has been replaced, consumer unit checked just to make sure it was up to scratch (it was) and he gave us a recommendation for future work. Oh yeah, I hear you thinking he was scouting for more work, but he left us saying our current setup was fine and safe, but just not the recommended way of doing things these days (it is an older house) All in all, I'm pleased with the service and the workmanship so would happily use again.

Hard to get a reply

Contacted RB Grant as the web site looked great for several jobs I wanted doing, only got a reply after third attempt to be told, they dont cover my area, fine, but web site says; Our electricians work throughout Scotland and Fife For a free quotation and design service contact the electricians you can rely on.
