From very first enquiry through the process so far this company have been excellent .Office staff kept us updated all the way . Robert the surveyor was absolutely great, explained everything in a very easy to understand way. Could not have been more helpful

The person who scheduled the…

The person who scheduled the appointment deliberately lied to me to get me to agree to a survey. I specifically asked whether the solar panels were a problem because they had disqualified me in the past, and I was told Union Technical would replace them. I believed him. As soon as the surveyor arrived, he told me I would not be approved because I have solar panels. He even phoned to get confirmation. Union Technical wasted my time and the surveyor's time (though he still got paid for disrupting my day) and caused me undue stress just to get past my door, even though he knew I was not eligible. Such a letdown. Such a disappointment. So manipulative. I don't appreciate being lied to.

I found it was not worth the hassle of asking them for help: I was looking to improve our heating and insulation. Called them twice in July and August 2025. Told I would hear back from them. Nothing. Then, with support from Home Energy Scotland, they carried out a survey. Surveyor was great, but Union Technical didn't even follow it up. When asked about this, given nothing.

Excellent work

Just wanted to say from start to finish all the workmen, which there was a lot! Did an amazing job, from the scaffolders, solar panel installers, sparkies, plumbers, esp Kai, Ritchie, Ed and Declan they were amazing. To get my property completed on time those guys went over and beyond. I know some are sub contractors but all deserve bonuses! All friendly, funny, polite and respectful. Thank you

Contractors installed solar panels - efficient, tidy workmanship and returned next day to commission a no light when they finished. Now late November in Highlands and they've been working most days when there's enough light - not this week though, dark and snow.

Happy but also disappointed

The workmen were efficient, the whole job was done quickly and with very few issues. Unfortunately initially there was a mix up with details of start times/dates & the insulation came through into a cupboard and a couple of other places. I also recently spoke to the salesman/agent David Montgomery that came out to talk to us and put us forward for the heating and solar panels. He was great and explained everything to us in a manner that we could understand. I'm extremely disappointed to hear that he hasn't received any payment for signing us and other customers up with Union Technical.

Recently had solar panels, air source heater and insulation installed. Big job, does require a fair amount of redecorating afterwards but they guys were great, answered any questions I had and the job was really well managed. Special thanks to Harrison who coordinated the project and was really efficient and chasing stuff up for me when needed, really made a the experience much less stressful having one point of contact who was coordinating it all. Appreciated the quality check once the work was completed for peace of mind and answering any final questions.

Exellent team of guys great results minium disruption due to the size of the the work undertaken. Highly recommend these installers as a self employed joiner I've had experience of other teams that are not at there standard

Good results but very poor communication

Communication is certainly not this company’s strong point - finished the job in April, waited another 6 weeks with workers turning up with no ladders and other equipment to finish solar installation and still waiting on a window to be replaced that they broke during installation - email after email asking for the same information and still no results but the work is done, not on time but with reasonable results and companies that completed jobs courteous and polite taking care in the property - just need to get their act together and sort out who is talking to who and sorting things out for customers in days not months

The team turned up early and worked flat out for two days, unusual these days. They were so tidy, professional and organised it was a pleasure having them at our home. An explanation of what had been done to finish off was given by the team leader. Excellent job.

Just had a really obnoxious unsolicited sales guy at my house... When told I wasn't interested, he started an argument with me as if I'm answerable to him. If this is how the rest of their company operate I can only assume they are complete chancers!

We had this company about a year ago. They came early and in the room upstairs started to throw our stuff about. And I said to the young lad about slamming the front door everytime he went in and out and he got attitude about it. We wasn't even told that the pipes was on the outside of the wall, which we will have to do something if decided to sell - looks absolute mess. He left the attic roof window open which didn't know about after a down pour of rain, also ruined an expensive carpet!!!. The system wasn't even installed correctly which took them months to come and check. We had high bills because of this. The latest the solar box in the hallway is flashing which it shouldn't and was told it needs a part etc and guess what STILL WAITING. You will notice as i phoned each time, they was waiting til after a year as they don't have anything to do with the system. I would stay clear this company as when you have problems they don't want to know!!!!.

I would not recommend Union Technical as our experience with them is a Sham. We have not had any work done by them on our house, but they have managed to damage our new roof while renewing our neighbours roof!!!! We have been promised for the last 6 weeks that somebody would be there the next day but their promises are invalid!!!! We consult with various employees with said Company who say they didn't know about it or thought it had been repaired. We now have a broken slate in our garden today plus damage to our gutters which is NOT acceptable.

This is a great company - we had several major heating upgrades done through them, including cavity wall insulation, room insulation, solar panels and a heat pump installation, and they also helped us secure the grant. They're highly professional, and I’m particularly impressed by how efficient their communication is. Whether you contact them by email or phone, they respond promptly and handle everything smoothly, and their technicians are very professional and knowledgeable. It's a company you can trust, highly recommended.

Very pleased with the professional approach Union Technical showed in all aspects of my Survey and Installation of my Air source heat pump and Solar panels just wish I got a Battery included? But very happy with the people who installed all they all made a tidy job and in a quick turnover.

The installation team Plumbers ,Electricians ,insulation and Solar panels did a great job. Very happy with the standard of work and the system is working well. Do have a problem in that the kitchen has nowhere to put a heater and is cold have fitted an electric towel rail but this is not enough.

Union Technical installed internal wall and loft insulation in our stone cottage in April 2023. Following an independent review of Union Technical's work, some faults were identified and it took a further 9 months for Union Technical to resolve these issues, primarily due to them failing to respond to emails and/or phone calls. Union Technical's poor handling of these issues means that we are unable to recommend them for any insulation work.

Very efficient process by all 3 teams.. solar panel, heating and plumbing and insulation all did a great job. Special shout out to Ross and his team ( plumbing and heating) who installed 15 radiators , an air source heat pump and new hot water boiler in 2.5 days… cleaned up and left the house immaculate. From start to finish you were kept informed of what was going on. Yes there was a change of dates etc because of certain contractors but that's to be expected. The whole team was courteous and as careful as you would expect. Andy and Chris were particularly polite and helpful. The office staff with Kirsty and Dianne kept you informed and updated. I'm absolutely delighted with all their work and would highly recommend this company to everyone 😀

We have just had an air-source heat pump and solar panels fitted by Union Technical. We were very impressed by the standard of workmanship. Both teams were hard-working, efficient and pleasant to have about the house.

I've just had my air heat pump, solar panels and internal cladding done this week. Everything went according to the plan I was always informed about. Next week they finish and decorate to finish. These guys are very courteous and helpful. I had to call one out 90 mile round trip as my electricity was not working and I was NOT happy.....Only to find out that I was out of electricity credit..... They still remained courteous. If you're thinking about upgrading, look no further.

Plus the Excellent back up from there head office. 10 out of 10. Barry there contract manager is a great guy and coverd all aspects of the instation at my property. So well done all congratulations. I have found Union Technical to be an excellent company . There is always someone on the end of the phone to give advice on anything that you need help with . From the Insulation Team the Solar Panel Team and the Heating Team the workers were all very professional and pleasant . Thank you for our brilliant heating system .

I have given 1 star only because I had to, otherwise would be not even worth it 1 star! Please! Please! If you don't want to have ruined house and feel as we feel, devastated. Do not go with this company! We should have free grant - isolation, air pump heating, solar panels, but only what we got a ruined pre installation house! The communication is shocking, they are on you till you say yes, and they leave you in doubts without any communication further. We had to ask a lot of questions. They booked themselves for 3 days. Well, if I would let them do it, they would do it in weeks. So the team on phone lied about time of work. They came in the afternoon of the day of work, checked my house again( after 2 people took measurements and took photos of everything in my house)The joiners started - this won't work on this wall, this won't work here .... When I spoke with them what is going on and asked for more details, they said they changed an isolation system, which I have never agreed.. ... (build a wall on the wall inside - like really?) We should have the sheets thin of isolation put on our walls). I called to the manager, he called that " we forgot to update you about this information ". Obviously, I have sent them away as from couple cm would be a fair length of my rooms taken.....!!!!!! I sent the manager some photos of my house (he asked) The house was ruined as I signed pre installation agreement and prepared house for work. I have never received an email of apologies or some suggestions of compansation!!!!! So I am working now over day/night over week to get my house to livable place, spending my own money on paint and wood. Please if you don't want unprofessional work, try to look somewhere else! I decided after this horrendous experience I won't go for anything like this. (I even didn't want this, but was pushed a lot with selling guy door to door), but there are plenty decent companies who will work better l!!! Again! Don't feel sorry as I am! Choose wisely 😌

Found Union Technical very reliable, friendly efficient staff. Explained where I could improve on my home energy efficiency. They found my shower tray was leaking when fitting my insulation. Marked where the leak was so the plumber could find it. Left a section out so I could get the work done then came back and fitted the rest. Very good service no glitches what so ever. Would not have a problem recommending them to anyone.

From start to finish we had a superb experience with Union Technical. We got cavity wall insulation and a new boiler with them. Right from the start the communication was spot on, we were kept up to date throughout the whole process with regular phone calls. From survey through to boiler installation the standard of work was excellent. Everybody was so friendly and professional and adhered to Covid regulations at all times. The standard of work carried out was of a very high standard and we have no complaints whatsoever. We would highly recommend Union Technical 👍

This company carried out assessment of my home and promised installation of new boiler and home insulation. Months passed without contact and when contacting customer service they said there was a backlog and would get back to me. Still no further contact and friend who also had assessment carried out was advised that no funding for the work was available. To summarise this company offer empty promises, lack of communication and no customer service. Would strongly advise letting them across your doorstep if they visit your neighbourhood.
