From the initial visit from Ameer to…

From the initial visit from Ameer to completion, the work was carried out promptly and carefully with minimum disruption. Kevin the builder worked really hard and kept us updated when power and water had to be turned off and tidy up every evening.

Boiler repair

Tom attended my property for a boiler repair. He was friendly and very knowledgeable. He was very conscious of noise and disturbance as I was working from home and had to take multiple teams calls. The job was completed with no issues and left the area clean and tidy. Thank you so much.

Happy

So gratefull for everything without these guys I would never of got my grant work done. I was poorly inbetween and the understanding of this was important to me....I now feel safe in my house ....Ameer was amazing with his organising skills and keeping on top of his team ...all round brill...I'm happy

New Boiler

Excellent service from Elect when they installed my new boiler. From Ameer the project manager, to the plumber on site, the whole process was smooth and well organised. Communication was clear throughout, the work was completed to a high standard, and everything was finished quickly and efficiently. I would highly recommend them.

What a wonderful job Elect did for us…

What a wonderful job Elect did for us transforming our bathroom into a wet room!! Kevin who did the work was diligent with a great work ethic. He was also kind and caring about our needs. Ameer his boss was also only concerned about our needs being met. Overall it was a bit messy at times ( only to be expected ) but the outcome was every bit worth it

Dangerous workmanship and hostile attitude toward vulnerable customers

I’ve been fighting on behalf of my grandparents to get property damage and safety issues put right for weeks, after this contractor worked on their home as part of a council‑funded scheme. From the start, it has felt like penny‑pinching and avoidance rather than taking responsibility. When a leak from their work damaged the living room flooring, I repeatedly asked for basic insurance details so it could be handled properly. My emails were ignored and I ended up having to involve the council, a councillor and an MP just to get the information that should have been provided as a matter of course. This was for a household that had already been flagged as vulnerable. On site, the experience has been worse. There has been poor workmanship and serious safety concerns including an external pipe left as a trip hazard around a blind corner in the garden, at a home occupied by elderly residents. I only discovered this because I visited while they were away; had they tripped or fallen, the outcome could have been catastrophic. This was in a house they knew was vulnerable. When I attended a visit to get issues made safe, the operative who came out was rude and dismissive from the outset. He spent several minutes on a personal call before even starting, then became defensive when I raised obvious concerns like concrete left on new electrical equipment. Rather than acknowledging this and putting it right, I was told in substance that the installers “shouldn’t have to clean up after themselves” and that they “get pennies for the install”. The message was clear: pride in the job and basic housekeeping were not a priority. The operative then left without completing all of the make‑safe work, despite knowing I had travelled a fair distance to be there and that my grandparents just wanted their home back in a safe condition. This has meant yet another appointment for what should have been a simple five‑minute task, adding more stress and inconvenience to an elderly couple who did nothing wrong. Overall, I’ve found this company: - Unwilling to take straightforward responsibility for damage they caused - Slow and obstructive when asked for standard insurance details - Comfortable leaving obvious hazards in a vulnerable household - Unprofessional and confrontational in person - Happy to walk away with jobs unfinished, knowing it creates more hassle for the customer My grandparents are grateful for the grant scheme itself, but the way this contractor has behaved has turned what should have been a positive adaptation into a drawn‑out, stressful ordeal. I would not recommend them to anyone, especially not to elderly or vulnerable people.

Destroyed my grandparents living room flooring. Bad workmanship and trip hazard left in garden. My grandparents were away, I met up with an engineer to get a safety issue resolved, met Tom Pritchard and he was rude from the outset. A 5 minute personal call before entering the property. Defensive because they left concrete on electrical equipment. “Our lads shouldn’t have to clean up after themselves and shouldn’t be getting stuck for it they’re good lads”. To that, I said, “I’m sure the council haven’t made all that money for bad workmanship” and to that he said “we get pennies for the install most of it goes on parts” surely one of those pennies could go on a cleaning rag and staff with pride in their work? Tom disappeared, didn't complete the job and walked off the job.

Bathroom floor refit

Ameer & his team were absolutely fantastic. They managed to fit me in early & i can honestly say the lads that came to rip up my bathroom were a credit to the company. Ben and Simon came in did the job & spoke to us about the process of it. Incredibly helpful especially with a poorly little one that needed the bathroom alot. They were very patient with her & made the day easier. Thankyou to the wonderful team for your work. My bathroom looks great!

What a fantastic company ! I have seen their vans all over Wigan and recently had the privelage of them completing some works in my property ! From the very start the communication from amir was clear , well organised and he was very compassionate and understanding about my husbands hospital needs and constantly adhered to my staggered schedule . My new kitchen is fabulous the joiner took his time to make sure It was done perfectly and even when I didn’t like the tiles amir swapped them for me and now I’m thrilled , not often you see that from a council contractor . 5 star !!

Amir and his team were amazing team

Amit and his team were amazing they respected our client with care compassion and dignity our client said the plaster was very polite and very chatty. Ameer or Amir continue with excellent communication throughout all the works that’s needed to be carried out the jobs were carried out at our convenient due to access to the properties we at Ella Uk would highly recommend Ameer and his amazing team For any of the council work within in the Wigan.area thanks again to your amazing team

Absolutely shocking company, my landlord LIV Housing have unfortunately chosen them as contractors. Had a new boiler ‘installed’ by an engineer that didn’t even tell me his name or sign the installation booklet which is a lawful document after a gas boiler install. After he was at my property for 7 hours he left abruptly without telling me and the state he left my house in was disgusting he’d broken several tiles on my kitchen wall and puttied them over.. best thing is I was left without any heating or hot water! He didn’t even check before he left. Left my old boiler in my garden didn’t even have the decency to take the rubbish away. He stole three of my kitchen towels also? Very strange! Rang my housing association and they sent him out again to fix his many mistakes, as he’d not wired in the boiler properly and wrapped all the lose wires with electrical tape.. he’s been out again tonight and after an hour decided it can’t be fixed, shrugged his shoulders and left! He’s also cut out a huge chunk of my tiles out and left it in a shocking way, he’s stuck some sort of white box from my thermostat to the boiler, there’s no fault with my thermostat! It worked perfectly before he came out and ruined my kitchen and patience. I have no idea why anyone would chose these ‘engineers’ they need reporting and I’m going to do so. Recap, I’ve got no heating or hot water, drilled holes and left my tiles in a right mess and still haven’t fixed the issue, a brand new boiler install isn’t meant to be difficult for a skilled engineer but somehow your engineer couldn’t do it! Ridiculously incompetent. Your company doesn’t reply to any negative reviews so I’m leaving this here to warn others not to use your shoddy company

John and his apprentice olly

John and his apprentice only came to do "a small job" according to livv housing, they came on Tuesday an done treatment on my damp walls an even more than was reported, had to come back Wednesday to finish it. Done a brilliant job not like cowboys do! Was very happy friendly lads would highly recommend them both, left the house lovely and clean thank you

I had John and Dave for 3 days…

I had John and Dave for 3 days plastering my whole hall stairs and landing including ceilings. They have done an outstanding job. I'm made up with it. Very professional, polite lads who definitely know how to do their job. When the job was finished they left my home very tidy. Highly recommend these two lads.

17 January STILL NO REPLY FROM EMAIL JUST LEAVING MY KITCHEN THE WAY IT IS. 15 January Had a call this morning yet again making excuses that the company don’t work on Saturdays so I asked them to speak to my solicitor on my behalf as I was in the office getting advice IVY tried to tell my solicitor they don’t have to speak to them only me the tenant which is 100% incorrect emailed and requested email contact only with has not happened. I have emailed this company at 10:30 this morning and now waiting on a reply. UPDATE WILL FOLLOW Update 13 January After this company messed up my kitchen and I left my review I had a call from this company to try and get this sorted they made the offer to replace all my worktop and the broken door and give me the 400mm unit I was supposed to have. Workman comes round to measure worktops and was supposed to come back today 8-9 to finish the job BUT NO ONE HAS TURNED UP THIS HAS NOW BEEN PASSES OVER TO MY SOLICITORS OVER THE DAMAGE. CCTV SCREEN SHOTS WILL BE UPLOADED ASAP. after the above comment I get a call from someone stating the carpenter is off so can not do the job funny how this also stopped the plumber from coming and doing his job as well. ( funny the carpenter was off the other week when your company was first supposed to start the job) 10 January Call from the company trying to blame me all work is on cctv and proof the workman messed up the worktop by drilling the extra hole and now trying to get the landlord to pay to repair Also new door handles installed don’t match the existing ones and look stupid could of changed them all to look the same. After reviewing the cctv footage the dirty workman was licking his finger then smoothing out the silicone around my kitchen worktop (how unhygienic can you get) Today 9 January workmen arrived 8:45 then 10 minutes later said he needs to get his tools did not arrive back to my property until 10:30 it’s now 12:04 and still not even put in in kitchen unit spent most of his time cleaning his hand and looking lost like he don’t have a clue. All clearly visible on my home cctv as proof of slow workmanship. Broke one of the new door they put in and side support at end of worktop is not attached to the floor and move. Was due a 400mm unit which was not supplied and fitted just gave a smaller 300mm which a joke doors hang to low compared to the other units and look out of place. Worktop next to my sink now has a big hole in so any water that get on the side runs down the hole and behind my dishwasher and new unit and I’m unable to clean it up this company has now give me more problems This has been reported Stupid company hired by landlord to do work company cancelled the work a few hours before they was supposed to show up then tried to book me in for 5 days before Christmas. 8:15 this morning the company calls stating they have had a cancellation last minute can we call round to do the work.

I’ve never dealt with a worse company in my life. Unfortunately Torus chose to hire them to retile my bathroom. A simple job you’d think? Well it was reported in July 2023. For the first two months they lied and first said someone had tried to ring me although I’d had no missed calls. Then said they’d called at the house without a prior appointment and they didn’t leave a card or anything to say they’d been 🤣.when they did finally decide to start the job in about October, we had one visit after another by the wrong tradesperson. On one occasion they took out my toilet and sink then the plasterer went home sick and the job had to be cancelled again. They promise to call you when they don’t. I’ve dealt with a woman called Kate who swears she will ring you but never ever does. Anyway it’s now Christmas and a simple job isn’t complete. My shower has been broke by them. I intent to make official complaints AGAIN after the holidays and I suggest torus never use them again

Absolute disaster came out to re damp proof and re plaster house said they had done everything necessary so the damp had gone and wouldn't come back well after 2 weeks look at what's greeted me again worse than before

Left my garden a bloody mess dog choked on of the spacers used for tiling did tiling b4 the plastering so now black grout is now white in places no communication at all fumming
