Superb Spirit

From initial contact, through planning and completion of a solar and battery system in Worcester, Archie and Rachel proved very professional, approachable, efficient and thoughtful. The whole process was seamless, installed on the agreed date and price was much cheaper than a regional competitor. We used a national energy supplier on another property and was not impressed at all with their customer service. This national supplier seemed just to try to throw cash to try to bribe the customer rather than address the problems. It took them over four months to send out the MCS certification – Rachel supplied it within five working days. So happy with the service, I have now ordered another installation from Spirit Energy which will be fitted in less than eight weeks. Excellent choice for renewables.

I had a solar system fitted by spirit…

I had a solar system fitted by spirit energy approximately 4 years ago to my industrial building, the inverter stopped working so I called spirit energy out to look at the issue, to cut to the chase I was informed by them that the installation of the panels had caused the problem, they were responsible of the entire installation! Was then told the warranty on there installation was only 2 years so I would have to pay for a new inverter and for them to rectify there shoddy installation!

My interaction with Spirit Energy has been a positive and upliftng experience. The company that initially installed my solar panels many years ago is no longer in business but when I contacted a number of solar installation companies to ask for help, Spirit Energy responded to my request in a timely and helpful manner. Understanding my needs they did their best to help me and in this day and age that is something that cannot be taken for granted. Thank you Spirit Energy for such positive customer service and a special shout-out to one of their engineers, Nathan. I would thoroughly recommend this company to others if they are thinking of installing solar panels and want to buy from a supplier that is reliable, honest and has high standards of integrity and professionalism.

Spirit installed my solar and battery in June 2025 and now I think its fair I write a proper review of this company after living with their install for a period of time. I found them via youtube, as they produce some very good and informative videos where I learnt a tonne about the technology while I weighed up whether to go ahead with a solar install while I re-roofed my house. Figuring they'd be just too big and lead times would be incredibly long for a popular company, I approached various other companies and was pretty horrified at the prices for some pretty basic setups, misleading generation data or outright silence if I asked a question. I then approached Spirit and the response from them was leagues apart. Since my power went out, twice, while trying to write them an email, I decided to ask for a premium system with powercut protection et all. The price came back higher than the others, but the system was way better. It was good value, and they communicated well and came out to survey to provide a proper, firm quote. Nothing seemed to be too much hassle for them and they happily answered and checked thoroughly to see what the best setup would be. No other company at this stage was matching how Spirit handled this. The install itself was smooth. They arrived on time, and cracked on without issue. The sparky went above what many would do, ensuring cable runs were neat, discreet and penetrations through walls were sealed up rather than being left open. I was walked through the system and app for the battery, and the system was generating instantly. It was bright and sunny and it was generating at its rated max output. Not long later, I received the commissioning paperwork and it was done, the system was set up. I spent 14 days disconnected from the grid, using nothing but solar to see how well it could do, and only reconnected to start exporting. The tech itself has been great, the panels generate even on miserable days, albeit not much. Sunny days I have more electric coming in than I can use. The battery + inverter is intelligent and I never have to use peak electric, saving our house a small fortune every month. Payback period looks to be around 2 years less than Spirit estimated, depending on electricity prices and export rates of course. I cannot rate this company highly enough. In my view, these are the professionals, these are the elite of the solar industry. From their educational youtube channel, their office staff, their install teams, everything about them speaks professional. And in a industry which is unfortunately full of chancers, this company stands proudly high.

All good, so far....

I have only just had my system commissioned [23 solar panels and Tesla battery), so cannot rate the system in detail yet as its all new technology that I will have to learn about and live with. However, in terms of the professionalism, service, attention to detail and advice from the engineers who actually installed & commissioned the system; I have to thank Klemens and Eddy who represented Spirit Energy (the office could/should have been more pro-active, supportive and forthcoming about scheduling and providing information about the technology and my contract). Will update the review in due course.

We were very impressed with the installation of our solar panels & batteries by Spirit Energy. From start to finish communication has been excellent. The scaffolding was put up just before the installation started and taken down again as soon as the roof work was completed. All the personnel from both the scaffolding firm and from Spirit Energy themselves were polite and friendly and the work was carried out with care. All packaging was removed at the end of each day and the site was left tidy. All in all one of the best experiences we have had with regard to work being carried out here.

Getting EV charger up and running.

My EV charger stopped working after a power cut and Spirit Energy responded very efficiently to my phone call arranging an engineer to call round in the next few days. He fixed the problem very quickly and all has been well since. Full marks!

I had a problem with a PowerWall that…

I had a problem with a PowerWall that had been previously installed. The team at Spirit Energy ran with the issue, liaising with Tesla, sourcing a replacement unit and getting it all installed at a time that was convenient with me. Great to have a professional team helping you through some of the complexities of the energy world.

Professional and Helpful

I had a Tesla battery installed by Spirit back in August 2022 (which went smoothly) and recently needed some assistance with the operation of the battery for night charging as I'd changed electricity supplier. When I got to the technical side of the business they helped change some settings remotely to get the charging as I wanted, which is greatly appreciated. This company is professional and doesn't forget you, even after all installation bills are settled. This is customer service that means something and I'd like to shout out to Galad who was my point of contact for this work.

After having solar panels and a Tesla battery installed, I experienced two technical queries relating to scheduling the battery to import and our smart meter. On contacting Spirit Energy support department both these queries were resolved completely. It is very reassuring to know that this support is available.

The entire installation was overseen by Peace, Spirit's Project Manager, who did a great job of keeping us in touch with what the next steps were and when they would be happening. She was also our first point of contact for any questions or concerns. Without exception, everyone in the team who carried out the installation did a great job in quite difficult weather conditions and were a pleasure to have at our house. Now that the system is live, it's very satisfying to see that even though we’re in the depths of autumn/winter, the system is already producing and offsetting enough energy to make us almost fully independent of the grid. We can’t wait to see how it performs in the summer, if it’s this good already! We're very happy customers and we'd have no hesitation to recommend Spirit Energy to anyone else considering installing a solar energy system.

The team members that attended my house were polite and proficient and their workmanship was to the highest standards leaving an installation that was neat and tidy. Even after completion of the project they have continued to provide assistance with administrative matters such as applying to sell energy back to the grid. Highly recommended!

Impressive local Solar contractor

Brilliant well organised local Solar experts.Highly focussed on their specialist subject. Their main point of difference is that all the team work for the company so no sub contractors which results in everyone knowing their tasks and implementation is done with perfection. Pricewise very competitive vs the big boy competitors. Spirit are long established in this area and that gives confidence going forward that any future issues will be handled properly though I don’t anticipate any. Neat job with 14 panels, solar skirt and PW3. Everything appears to be have been completed to a very high standard. Would thoroughly recommend.

Extremely professional from first contact to completion of the installation of our panels and battery. I was referred to Spirit by an existing customer and I can see why they were confident to do so. I'm sure their post-sale support will also be excellent but hoping to never need it!

After being impressed by Tok’s excellent YouTube videos Spirit Energy were the only company I approached for a quote. After one encouraging email reply from Nathan Lau where he did suggest it may be easier to phone although also said ‘let me know if you have any questions’, as the questions were specifically to do with the design and included drawings I felt it better to send them via email prior to speaking. I specifically added my phone number to my email sign-off so that he could contact me by phone as suggested. He then never responded to any of my 3 further emails or phoned me. I eventually gave up and have just spent £16k with another company. I also have solar to arrange for my two siblings, but unfortunately wont be asking Spirit for a quote. I appreciate that this isn’t necessarily a reflection of the company as a whole or the quality of their work, but there’s a limit to how much chasing I’m willing to do to spend my money with a company. I’ve upgraded my rating from a 1 as my experience probably isn’t usual.

No question is too small for this team at any level, from the initial sales contact (Nathan) to Peace and Dimitrios in the Projects team and finally the install team (including the sub contracted scaffolding team)...all very professional, polite and all worked with a smile and answered my many questions without hesitation and explained things very well. I've just had the pleasure of working with SpiritEnergy. They installed 77 x 480w panels on my house roof (top, north, south, east and west facing) and 3 x Tesla Powerwalls. Even now at end of October I am able to run my house fully off-grid... In particular I would also like to mention Ari (the site supervisor) who kept me informed throughout and found space for an additional 12 panels which I was very happy with. Also, with Dan who was the senior electrician. He did an amazing job of the wiring and making me feel comfortable. It was also good to work with Ben, Jo and Will. I would highly recommend this company if you want Solar and/or Battery for your house. It feels very nice to have low (-ve) energy bills...

Fantastic customer services. Installed our panels over 7 years ago. Fixed a small issue with readings quickly when under warranty. Now we are selling, they have been extremely quick to respond to queries and still have relevant paperwork on file that we need to help progress the sale.

I recently used Spirit Energy for a 23 panel installation with Tesla PW3 and Wall Charger. I researched this to death before going ahead and Spirit are probably one of the top companies in the country. They weren't the cheapest quote I had, but the 'premium' I paid was about 3% of the cost of the project over some of the other quotes. For me, and for products like these, it was worth it for the peace of mind and confidence they will likely still be in business and willing to assist if there are ever any issues. My installation wasn't typical in that they fitted me in early due to a cancellation. So it wasn't a case of everyone turning up and it all being done on consecutive days. But I was grateful for this as the end result was that I was up and running and generating sooner than if I'd had to wait for my 'slot'. And communication was good throughout. Overall, I'd highly recommend. The system works perfectly and all the staff were polite and helpful during the installation.

After a very successful and professional install of Solar and Battery in March this year, I decided I needed additional battery capacity before the winter. Spirit's quote was very competative, and I placed the order Tuesday. I was contacted by Proj Manager Wednesday asking if I was available to install Thursday morning. This morning (Thursday!), the install team arrived and took just over an hour to install and test the battery. Everything went very smoothly. While I may have been fortunate in that they had had a cancellation so could install very quickly, I'm very happy with the speed, price, and quality of the install, and I now have 27KW in time for the dark season!

We’ve been really happy with our whole solar installation experience with Spirit Energy. When we started investigating solar we compared the council scheme, national installers as well as a few local installers. From the initial talks with Spirit Energy and going through our requirements of what we were after, they quickly moved to the top of our list due to their recommendations and knowledge, so we signed with them. As we have a slate roof, the roof works took a few visits to complete, and high winds didn’t help, but all the work was completed to a high standard and now have 26x panels and Powerwall 3 all connected and generating just in time for the good weather! Happy to recommend.

Long term review ;) In 2011 Spirit Energy installed a 3.8 kW solar system with inverter on my house. The price was competitive. The installation process was well co-ordinated and hassle free. The system has performed flawlessly for the last 14 years with no issues. I recently contacted them to obtain some paperwork dating back 14 years and got a helpful response the same day. I would thoroughly recommend them for both their systems and the level of service they provide.

Domestic Solar Panel Installation

I wanted my solar installation to maximise the generation capacity of the south and west-facing roof aspects whilst avoiding unsightly arrangement of the panels. Protection from grid outages was a key requirement. Of the companies I contacted, one suggested only 12 panels would fit on the available space. Even I could tell that was a serious underestimate. Another company stated that 20 panels would be fine. That seemed over optimistic - but fitted in with my 'maximise generation' wish. Both those designs were carried out virtually. Spirit Energy's proposal was backed up by an on-site visit. The subsequent design and quotation, though a little more expensive than others, seemed to me to be by far the most realistic and comprehensive. The stages of installation are covered well on Spirit Energy's very informative You-Tube feed so I won't repeat them here. But I recommend you have a look for yourself. Since commissioning, the system of 17 panels has generated power well beyond my expectations. Very pleased indeed. I recognise all the positive comments of other 5* reviews regarding the installation process itself. The professionalism, skill and pride in the work of everyone who played a part was impressive. If you are considering solar panels, etc, for your own home, you really should give serious thought to using Spirit Energy. In my experience, you can trust them to listen to your requirements, properly advise on potential options, and carry out your chosen installation to the best of their ability.

After much research, and three companies quoting we selected Spirit Energy (not the lowest quote) because of the in-depth response, knowledge and advice. They also offered the products I wanted to buy. We needed an onsite survey due to the size of the system we wanted, this was then executed in delivery with updates over two days. Very nice installation team, no mess, friendly and efficient even though it was 30C outside. We took 10.5Kw system with a Tesla Power Wall, in fact just ordered another one now we have experienced the first one of course via Spirit Energy. I would recommend them, knowledgeable, not just trying to sell you PV but a solution at a reasonable price. Update Jan 2025 - Post Sale Service - Had an incident with our Tesla Gateway 2, the mains incoming overheated the switch within the Gateway and it caused it to arc, which caused considerable damage to the device. The point here is the issues started at 21:30 on a Monday, I contacted Spirit Energy as this was urgent, the main supply was now , Telsa batteries would run out off power by 18:00 on Tuesday. By 9am Tuesday AM I had a call from Spirit Energy, they had an engineer being diverted, he arrived by 11am, and Simon informed us what he was going to do, he had all the spare parts with him, he kept us informed all the way to the final resolution which including registering the new Gateway 2 with Tesla, checking my Tesla App was fully working was approx. 4 hours onsite in total. The point here is don't just look at the price of an install, but the E2E life / support of the solution. PS: 2nd technical issue, I had a similar experience with our 3 year old Solar when the Inverter went faulty again great service through Spirit Energy to get that replaced and reconfigured. Maybe these have been bad luck, but things break, just think what you do when they do fail.

Selecting a reliable installer for your Solar Energy is not a simple task, it can be fraught with disaster for the unwary. Therefore finding one with the right credentials is so important which is why my wife and I opted for Spirit Solar, primarily on a recommendation from our next door neighbour. His panels have been installed by Spirit since 2014 and are still working faultlessly today. With this in mind, and with three other companies' estimates at hand we chose Spirit Solar. It must be said they were not the most expensive nor were they the least. . Our initial contact with Spirit Solar was with Sam who put together the package which was to be 16 solar panels on the roof together with the inverter and a Tesla Powerwall 3 battery in the garage. After accepting the more detailed estimate, Natasha, our allocated project manager, swung into action arranging a visit with the Technical Engineer Justin, where we agreed the final cable routes. Next came the scaffolding erection. Two days later the installation team arrived. Jo Ari, Klem. Matt positioned the roof panels, Battery, Tesla backup Gateway 2 and interconnecting cables. On completion of the final commissioning my wife and I had a short demonstration of the installed units and explanation of the controlling Tesla App on the mobile phone. All in all a very slick and efficient operation, moreover at a cost that was not overly expensive. Thank you so much Spirit Solar for a pleasant hassle free solar energy installation.

Mark, Peace, Ben, and Simon (the electrical engineer) have taken excellent care of us. With our south-facing roof and the continuous rise in energy prices, choosing solar energy was clearly the best decision. Additionally, selecting the right system, ensuring professional installation, and having a variety of panels to choose from—along with securing batteries to be installed as soon as they reach the market, EV charger installation—are the reasons we decided Spirit Energy. This move also resulted in an impressive EPC rating of A.

Excellent experience working with Spirit Energy. Communication was great from enquiry to completion. Surveyors, installers, etc were all very professional and required minimal input from me. The system they recommended works fabulously. Overall I’m very satisfied with the whole experience. An opportunity for further improvement in the service could be cleanliness after the work has been done. They did some cleaning, but didn’t clear everything. I still found residues of brick and dirt from the roof that I had to clear myself, but not a deal breaker IMO.
