We had a great experience with the installation of our solar panels, battery, EV charger and Eddi power diverter. Lead in time was prompt and the installation on the day went well. We did have issues with access to wifi, requiring boosters. Follow ups with apps, documentation etc were all handled professionally. I have no hesitation in recommending Greg and the team at Smart Group.

Purchased 10kW solar and 35kWh battery from Smart group. It took a while to get an install slot, like many tradesmen they are very. busy. In hindsight I should have clarified lesdtime earlier. They erected scaffold and covered two sides of roof with 22 panels in one day, the rest of the work took a further two days. Work is completed to a high standsrd with all certificates and documents promptly received. Have no hesitation in recommending.

Poor service, not getting response on email or visit after one of the property had solar system from them. I strongly advise to be aware of these guys before taking any service from them.

Smart Group Scotland installed solar panels and a battery for us. The install didn't go smoothly but everything got resolved and I was very happy with the end result. The price was also competitive against the other 2 quotes we got. 2 months later and it's all working very well so I would definitely recommend them.

While I cannot fault the standard of the work that the external companies carried out. Our dealings with Smart Group after the works been carried out has been shocking! We have emailed 5 times to try get someone out to do the annual service - they eventually got someone pencilled in to come out and within 1hr of the arranged appointment he cancelled! They rearranged for a later date, which we changed our plans for them not to show - not impressed at all. I’d try avoid dealing with Smart Group if you can as they just don’t care about you once the works been completed.

We had a Fox Solar system installed by Smart Group in October '24 and could not recommend them enough. The 16 panels and bird protectors were installed with so little fuss in around 5 hrs by the three roofers. At the same time the team of three electricians work to install the inverter and battery and hook it all together. All done and generating power by 4pm. The kit is so neat and tidy in the garage, you'd think it'd always been there. Both the roofer and electricians teams were friendly and efficient. There were a couple of minor issues post-installation, but in keeping with their general efficiency, all was fixed without fuss and a super-friendly manner. Would absolutely recommend - thanks to Greg, Jamie and the rest of the team.

I'm really pleased with our Solar and Battery installation from Smart Group at the start of May 2023. Tidy installation, no issues and all is working as it should be. The only negative was the delay from ordering to installation but this is largely out of their hands due to global supply issues with PV equipment. Would happily recommended Smart Group Scotland to anyone looking to install Solar in their home.

This company is not so Smart, and I wouldn’t recommend using them for any of your energy requirements. They don’t always adhere to the agreement, and don’t communicate very well. They took an initial deposit of 25% of the contract price, as per the agreement, when we placed the order with them, but they took a whopping 65% when they installed the solar panels, meaning that they had taken a total of 90% of the contract value. This breached both their own contract conditions and that of their governing body (the RECC), which both state that the maximum which the customer should pay is 60% of the total contract price, which includes the 25% deposit. Therefore we overpaid them by 30% of the total contract price. In addition to this they took instructions from the builder despite our very specific request not to do so, leaving us significantly out of pocket. The governing body (the RECC) have no teeth and appeared unable / unwilling to take any action against their member (this company) despite the blatant breach of their regulations. We took the company to the Arbitrator, who awarded us some of our money to be refunded and an apology by a specific date. They couldn’t even stick to the date provided by the arbitrator and we had to chase them for the money and the apology, which wasn’t worth the paper it was written on. The company also struggled to fit the correct number of solar panels as they never took roof sizes or requested drawings to plan the work properly, despite our numerous suggestions to do so. Use this company at your own risk with our warnings, but we certainly wouldn’t recommend them, and would have given them no stars if that was an option. Avoid at all costs, otherwise it will cost you. We lost thousands of pounds because of them.

The solar panel installation team arrived promptly at eight. They were courteous, very thorough and professional, taking care to ensure there was minimal disruption to our home. We are very pleased with our solar panels. Smart Group have done an excellent job.

We had an entire system installed by the Smart Group. This comprised of Solar Panels, Inverter, Storage Batteries and a EV Charger. We have had lots of teething issues and the system did not work correctly for months but through some lengthy discussions with the Smart Group and quite a few visits by their engineer, they have now resolved all of my concerns and our system works as expected. It looks like the equipment were were provided with was faulty as this has now been replaced and the system works well. Thanks.

This is the state that they had left the loft ...according to Clare Finlay from Smartgroup this is their every day standard and nothing wrong with it. Shameful behaviour, avoid at all cost!

I had a 3.2kW solar PV system with fitted in May this year. The team from SMART Group were very professional and the job was finished in around 4hrs. Since then the system has worked flawlessly. As someone who works from home most days, I know that the vast majority of the power I used through summer was clean & green. So far we've generated 1.5MWh in 3 and 1/2 months. We've used a large portion of it saving ourselves money and helping our CO2 emissions.

Spent a lot of time before I chose this company to install my Solar panels. They provided an Excellent all round service, seamless assistance and initial advice, top quality installation and very competitive price! Would recommend 100% Robert Tait

Smart Group installed our air sourced heat pump. They were so helpful helping us navigate government grants, and RHI credits. When it came to the actual installation, they were exceptionally tidy and quick. Only here for 2 days - we had no plumbed heating, so they had to start from scratch. When we arrived home the place was tidier than we left it, and all of our old heating was taken away. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Our ASHP installation was in 2018/19 as part of a total property refurbishment. It was the first time we had purchased renewable energy tech like this. We wanted a company who would help us every step of the way as our strengths lie elsewhere! We paid around £15,000 for it ( excl the concrete floor) on the basis that we would get some money back from RHI. Nearly 2 years later, we do have a working system, but it has been far from a smooth process, I am not yet convinced it is as efficient as it is supposed to be and we have no RHI. Specifically... 1. we had numerous teething problems for the whole of the first winter, including a spell of erratic heating / no heating for around 6 weeks in Nov/Dec. it began to feel that the installers did not really understand how the system was working in the property and why it kept failing. Even now I am not clear what went wrong. 2. we were instructed repeatedly to leave the immersion heater on for Legionella protection by the subcontractors, however after outrageous electricity bills, I worked out myself that the system has its own in-built immersion for this. The subcontractor (who installed the whole heating system) had instructed me to put on the separate immersion heater - which was on for around 5 months unnecessarily. Again it felt like they didn't understand the system. I am still paying off the £1000 electricity bill! Stupid client, you may think, and maybe you'd be right but please don't mock until you try to work out a schematic of an ASHP heating system and understand where the in-built immersion heater is (That's why I employed and trusted specialists!!) 3. and finally, because this is a holiday let, we have to apply for commercial RHI which is much more onerous than Domestic. ...Smart Group do not support clients through the Commercial RHI process as they do with the Domestic RHI, however they will not even sign off a very short 3 question Installer Declaration Form so we cannot apply for RHI. You can imaging my frustration! 4. The thing that put the 'tin lid' on it all was the email reminder I got recently to say my system needs a service and that a service is important for RHI compliance!!!! Be careful when you employ these guys for ASHP. Please do your technical homework on your system and the RHI process you need. Good luck!

We can't thank Sean and his team enough for making our building project go as smooth as possible. We are really impressed with the quality of the work, it is excellent. Smart Group were so helpful. From accommodating our building warrant delays, keeping is informed of progress, working hard to resolve any issues asap and just general excellent service we are so pleased with the end result of our garage conversion and kitchen extension.

We have used Smart Group Scotland for our PV requirements for some time now. Their integrated, in-roof Solar PV systems not only allow our homes to meet the highest of carbon ratings; but they also blend in aesthetically due to their in-roof installation as opposed to surface mounted panels. The quality of the workmanship has always been top notch and the service is great. With our latest site, we had issues with the upload capacity on the local electricty network infrastructure so Smart Group were able to design systems for each of the house types with built-in capacitors to meet the criteria required by SP Energy Networks. They issue us with all of the MCS accredited certificates and paperwork required to satisfy both the local authority and our warranty provider. Also, as a builder, our schedules often change and Smart Group understand this so they've always tried to be flexible with us when last minute changes occur - something not all suppliers understand. We are also working with them on a new project to install Air Source Heat Pumps in addition to the Solar Panels where natural gas isn't available for primary heating.

From the first enquiry made to Smart Group I have been delighted with their quality of service. From providing helpful information, to the subsequent site survey and finally the installation. Our installation was completed in a day even with the addition of storage batteries, solar optimisers and bird protection. I was very impressed with the professional manner in which the work was carried out.

I have been looking at Solar panels for years and the wait has been worth it. I am delighted with the installation from the Smart Group with not only the quality of the work but the professionalism of the installers. We now have a substantial reduction in energy requirements from the utilities and have also added value to our property in the process.

Having had a very efficient installation of Solar Panels last year I was delighted to accept the Bird Protection offer as we had pigeons nesting under them this year. My wife and I are deaf but our neighbours aren't and apparently this was a noisy experience. As always Lisa and Clare arranged the installation and date according to my wishes and bang on time this morning Paul and his crewman arrived and carried out the installation efficiently and quickly with no disruption whatsoever. The icing on the cake was as Paul was showing me his completed workmanship there was a demented pigeon trying to gain access under the panels. I am delighted to report that it failed. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Smart Group for whatever project you are considering. Everybody in the Group is helpful, polite, and extremely knowledgeable. A thoroughly professional company.
