Problem with drains

Problem with drains. Did what they could, but problem persisted. Have since had a visit from Scottish Water and so far okay. We like Haddow, they have always been fair with us.

Could not have been more helpful

When our oil boiler broke down I contacted 5 local and national companies offering repair services. Most didn't respond at all, or said they didn't have any available engineers (what, never?). LW Haddow, on the other hand, initially offered an appointment in 7 days' time and the next day called back to say that they had had a cancellation and that I could have a same-day appointment. When the engineer turned up he got the boiler going again in less than 10 minutes and diagnosed the root of the problem (faulty pump). A week later he fitted the new pump. Given the demand for oil boiler engineers at this time of the year (winter), LW Haddow could not have been more helpful or efficient in their service and all for reasonable cost.

Good service, guys are very helpful and efficient each time I’ve used their service. Customer service leaves something to be desired - made to feel at fault for not understanding why or how my boiler issue had happened and spoken to quite abruptly by receptionist who was quite negative about the likelihood of getting it fixed. Had similar issues with tone of receptionist last year when I had phoned for another query. Other than that, can’t be faulted.

Until our last experience we have always been very happy, however I cannot recommend now. Our boiler required repair, 1st engineer didn't seem to know what was wrong or understand how air source pumps work but said it needed a part and would be in touch by end of week. 5 weeks later still no sign. After several phone calls to the office and always being fobbed off and promised call back etc which never came. Now during this time we had no hot water with a new born baby. 5 weeks later we finally managed to get the normal engineer who is familiar with our system. Appointment arranged, however the original part ordered was wrong. Another week and half waiting and this time correct part. Total time of diagnostics and repair approx 1 full hour. Now to the invoice, 2.5 hours labour, which includes travel time. Mileage charge - 64 miles @ 65p/mile. However, over the 2 visits for the successful repair, engineer was 1 hour total approx. Also on second visit, engineer only travelled from another house in our estate. 2 minutes travel. The invoice was renegotiated slightly but I feel the milage charge was still wildly wrong /chancing. I understand the 1 hour minimum charge per visit. But charges where never explained at beginning. To conclude it felt like there was a complete lack of ownership or interest by the office and company However Darren the engineer who did manage to fix fault is great.10/10. Be sure to ask for him otherwise I wouldn't waste your time. Ps I have spent enough discussing this issue with your office so please don't offer that as a response. Kind regards.

They first misplaced the appointment that they had previously confirmed by email and it had to be rebooked. Engineers were badly behaved and talked each other down during the job. The company is not flexible and is unwilling to take responsibility over their mistakes. I will look for a different service going forward and I would not recommend this business to anyone.

Provided two quotes for a solar installation fix - one to get a new inverter and another for a second string to get the system up to proper standard. Hassle organising the inverter installation. Had to keep calling and told every day that the PM would call me back. Eventually gave ultimatum and got an apology/someone out to do the fix the next week. Asked for a written letter to say second string was required to put the system in working order so I could claim a fault in the original installation. Got a response saying it was not possible as they did not want to bad mouth original installer…feels a bit dishonest asking for ~£800 and not giving me a written statement that the work is required.

Very happy with my new storage heaters. Survey done by someone who gave me confidence he knew what he was talking about Days booked to suit and work carried out . Amazing service and good price too. EDIT Six months on l have loved using my heaters. Amazing . Almost a year later l still love my heaters and the huge savings compared to old ones. I phoned LW Haddows today as l needed help with setting.I tried a few new clever settings and didn't really know what l was doing .Andrew offered to come help and had quickly fixed this.I know this can be a busy time so it's much appreciated.

We recently had a new hot water system and boiler fitted. This was a big job in an old house. The work was carried out over 4 days with the minimum of disruption. The quality of the final work was excellent ( the copper pipes are a work of art). The people involved Martin and Andrew were of the highest standard and did a fantastic job. Very happy with the end product.

Wood pellet boiler serviced by LW Haddow today. Very pleased with LW Haddow's service. Dusan was very knowledgeable and friendly. As well giving the boiler a thorough and much needed service he provided advice on how to look after and get the best out of it. Highly recommended!

L W Haddow fitted my new Combi boiler. From start to finish they did a very professional job which started as soon as I opened the front door. They covered my carpets with dust sheets as they came in. They removed the old boiler and installed the new one in a very timely manner, with the electrician coming in when required to do his part and once they had finished the commissioning engineer arrived to commission it. They cleaned up behind themselves as they went and left me with nothing at all to do once they had finished. The whole job took less than a day and the price was very reasonable. They have since been back to give the boiler it's annual service to keep it in tip top condition. Distance is no object either, they are happy to travel if you are not local, and we are not. They also service the LPG gas boiler at our holiday home which again involves travel. I would recommend this company without any hesitation.

We used L.W.Haddow to install a complete new Heating system, completely replace the plumbing, fit new bathrooms and a complete rewire in our house. All the engineers were extremely professional, friendly and efficient, the work was carried out on time and on budget. Whilst a certain amount of mess is unavoidable with this type of work they cleaned up as much as possible and removed waste etc. and kept the house tidy. We continued to live in the house while they worked and we felt they respected and looked after our possessions to make sure nothing was damaged. We are very pleased with the job, the attention to detail was excellent and L.W.Haddow made it as easy as possible considering the size of the job.

We first came across Haddow's when they were recommended to us to fit a new rayburn 6 years ago. We live in an old house, and knew they would hit problems. These were all solved with a minimum of fuss, and without any hassles. Servicing is always prompt, although you do have to book well in advance. They installed a new central heating boiler this summer, and again the service was excellent. Good points include: 1. Keeping us informed as to what was going on. 2. Engineers have always been polite and courteous. 3. Everything is left clean and tidy when they finish.

In August 2018 we moved into a house which had a 14 year old oil boiler taking up much space in a fairly compact kitchen, giving us limited options for redesign of the kitchen area. LW Haddow recommended replacing with an external oil boiler which we went ahead with in September 2018. The workmanship was excellent and the Haddow team worked tirelessly to finish the job in 2 days. Floorboards had to be cut and lifted to get all the pipe work under the floor and away from the back of the kitchen units. Part of the garden had to be dug to rechannel pipe work from the oil tank to the new boiler. The weather on the 2nd day was pouring rain and howling wind and despite all of that, we arrived home to find everything left in pristine condition (you wouldn't have known there had been tradesmen in the house). The boiler installation was first class and a great improvement on the new system vs the last. The timer clock had even been pre-programmed for us. The installation was followed up by a commissioning visit and great advice given by the engineer on how to manage the boiler. Huge thanks to Mark, Alan and their team for this. We've since had a new kitchen installed and delighted with the end result.

Haddows Plumbing & Heating Cowboys Absolute bunch of chancers, multiple issues outlined below. They fitted a new boiler for my mum who is a pensioner, nearly caused her ceiling to come down after removing header tank & spilling contents into loft, then denied it. Left a big hole on outside wall a pigeon could come through. Mucked up sealing the flue on outside wall, then when called back made a mess filing it in. Finally charged £150 for annual service which she was told they must do to maintain warranty. They neither have the competence to do the job properly or decency to sort their mess without being told. Charging a pensioner £150 which twice what a decent non cowboy outfit charges is robbery! These cowboys are to be avoided unless you want to put their antics on TV
