Hope the work is better than the driving... echoing the earlier review noting the same.

Saw one of their drivers driving at 70mph, one handed whilst texting on his mobile phone. Van reg was FD71 EAK. Three days ago I reported it to the company and asked.them to call me to discuss what is witnessed which also included the driver tailgating at speed. So far the company has not returned my call which suggests they feel that this behaviour is acceptable. Not sure I would want to do business with a company that does not take this seriously and seems happy to let their staff break the law and not punish them for doing so.

Gem install of solar panels was quick and precise. Both engineers were very knowledgeable about the their trade and very obliging in general doing a very tidy job with no mess. They are a credit to the company

We had our SolarEdge PV system installed back in 2015 by GEM and were very happy with both the sales and installation process. One factor which appealed to us, they are electrical contractors not only solar installers. We recently had a small issue with the monitoring app for the panels and they are still in business to help us, it was quickly taken care of remotely.

Extremely good service from GEM all round. Installation was seamless from start the finish. Estimated the install would take a full 3 days but was finished by noon on the last day. The quotation was a fair price, and the best equipment was advised for the size of the solar system we required. (SolarEdge) We also had replacement LED lights fitted on a Saturday when our offices were closed. This also was pain free. Would 100% recommend GEM to any other business requiring a large solar system and replacement LED lighting.

Well we decided to go solar so the first thing you do after some research is send some emails to potential companies for installation quotes. Being an electrical contacts manager part of my job is doing electrical quotations, unfortunately as a company we are not a registered solar installer etc. I must say from about 10 emails I sent some of the quotes I received I do not even know how these companies get a reply never mind an order! One in installer even wanted just over £7000 upfront before any works where carried out, what planet is this guy on? In the end I received two quotations what I believe were genuine and not a pie in the sky cowboy rip off quotation. One was Gem and the other a company in Lincoln. My plan was to get both to do a site visit and confirm the cost and then make a decision. I called the company in Lincoln and asked to speak to the estimator who did my quotation to discuss this and revise the figures, the guy revised them while driving and confirmed an exact cost and was reluctant to do this properly. I am sure anyone with half a brain cell will know you cannot give a genuine exact cost to the £1 while driving a car unless you are making a guesstimate and adding some for good luck. So that was game over. Now it was back to GEM as the only company going to pop over, take a better look and 100% confirm the cost. I will be honest and say Gary’s quotation was comprehensive as it should be, genuine and to be fair Gary (GEM) had the job already with the site visit being more a formality to move on to the next stage. Gary was on the money and 100% genuine, no hard sales, no BS but as Gary said I am an engineer not a salesman! Installation has been carried out and was absolutely spot on with attention to details and a good quality install at a realistic cost and not pie in the sky get rich quick price like a lot seem to quote. I could not recommend GEM enough and if you are serious about going solar you would be making a mistake by not giving Gary a call for a quotation! First day with sun and clouds we generated 29.1kwh of electricity in early June from a roof facing east and west. A word of warning to anyone looking at solar be very careful with who you choose for the installation as from the quotations I received it was very clear a lot of quotations where cowboy rip you off installer charging pie in the sky figures!
