I use Greenfield for jobs on various properties in the town. I find them very efficient and able organisation covering a wide range of activities and I have confidence in what they do. It is very useful to be able to contact them or go along and see them to discuss matters with them and get practical and sensible help.

This is a highly professional and competent company. They have installed all the renewable energy at our house, developing the system over a number of years. They have dealt with any problems quickly and efficiently, and have always helped us find the best solution. The staff are friendly, courteous and very helpful, and always respond quickly when contacted. We have never considered using any other company for our energy needs.

Greenfields electrical work

We have used Greenfields for several projects over the past 10 years and always found them easy to deal with and willing to explore and explain various options to achieve our requirements. The quotations have always been accurate and suitably detailed. Timescales to carry out the work are realistic and they have liaised well with other contractors and electricity suppliers to minimise potential delays on the job. The installation staff are hard working courteous, helpful and respect our property. They also tidy up afterwards. The latest work they have done is the installation of solar panels which has gone very well and to quoted cost. They visited the site to gather information for the design and production of a quotation which we then discussed and agreed. On completion of the work the installer explained how too operate the system and left us with instruction books and certificates. They liaised with our electricity supplier to register the system for us. We would happily recommend Greenfields and use them again on future projects.

Replacing a boiler

We contacted Greenfields in May 2025 for a quote to replace our old boiler. Two other heating engineers had previously declined the job, citing new regulations that would make the replacement difficult. However, Rich from Greenfields reassured us that they could help. He visited promptly, and we received a detailed quote just a few days later. The installation team arrived on the agreed date and fitted our new external boiler efficiently. The lads worked hard, were polite and professional throughout. Since then, they’ve also returned to take care of some smaller plumbing jobs we had struggled to find anyone else to do. It’s reassuring to know we now have a reliable company we can call on for future repairs or emergencies.

In 2024 we decided to make the change from heating our home using fossil fuels to using an air source heat pump. We invited Greenfields to help us explore our options. They came to our home and completed a very thorough survey before sitting down to talk through different solutions, using language we understood. A system design was completed and quote was prepared, which we were given time to digest before accepting. The installation was delivered on time, professionally leaving us with a system which operates exactly as they described. This winter our home has been warmer than ever before and we’ve even managed to save some money when compared to previous years. Delighted!

Electric Vehicle Charger

During early 2025 we purchased an electric vehicle and needed a charge point to be installed at our home. After speaking with lots of companies we were very impressed with how knowledgable and professional Greenfields were, we decided to get them to fit ours. A date agreed and the parts required were ordered, everything happened exactly as they described, their staff were amazing, respectful of our home and the charger looks and works brilliantly. A big thank you to their team!

Excellent service every time

After my boiler broke unexpectedly, Greenfields responded very quickly. Their heating engineer was super friendly and very knowledgeable. The fault with my boiler meant it needed to be replaced. The very next day my new boiler was up and running. The whole Greenfields were great to deal with, going above and beyond to help me. Excellent!

Great service and family approach

During a very difficult time our shower broke. I sent picture to Greenfields and research was done and picture of new shower was sent back to me. I approved and it was ordered and delivery was extremely quick, taking into account my circumstances. They took all the stress away. Typically holes were different sizes but plates were put on and nobody would know they were not part of the original shower. A later query was put right on the same day. Thank you to all who ordered, fitted the new shower, it is super.

Greenfields recently fitted an air source heat pump system for us, providing an excellent service from start to finish. From Jessica and the office staff to the Nathan and the other engineers on site everyone has been really helpful, friendly and professional. We had Greenfields attend our property to take a look at the pre-existing solar installation which was installed before we moved in. The customer service I received was some of the best I have experienced locally, and the engineers' time keeping was spot. We wanted a service, an undertaking of any repair work off the back of the service and an overall familiarisation of the system. We got everything we wanted from Greenfields visit and would definitely recommend them.

Thank you for the great job you did last week. It certainly was not straightforward switching water tanks and radiators from the Aga to the new tank you fitted (all sorts of weird and wonderful plumbing and controls to investigate and sort!), but your engineers were professional and courteous and got the job done with the minimum of disruption. Punctual and kept us fully informed throughout, I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

I worked with Greenfields on our Cottage near Ambleside for solar panels and retrofit of the Cottage with a heat pump. Commissioning the heat pump is difficult but they always came back. I used them for 12'solar panels and batteries at our house in Sheffield great near job and all operates brilliantly. A very good company to work with.

I’ve been using Greenfields for a number of years now. The quality or work is exceptional. They are always super responsive to my hour in need! And the skilled tradesmen are very professional. There really is no better in this space. Would highly recommend.

Great service. Sorted out a tricky job which definitely needed them to go the extra mile or so. Chased suppliers and offered support and advice throughout the job as well as keeping us informed about options , time scale etc. engineer pursued difficulties and resolved them. Outstanding service from start to finish. We were uncertain on what we wanted but after speaking to Richard he explained in as simple terms as possible, what our options were. We ended up going with a battery system in the end. The lads were extremely helpful even putting up with our constant questions and were very tidy throughout the 4 days. Great service over the last few days from greenfields. Called in the morning to attend an emergency job, the job was passed on by the office and a team of lads arrived in the afternoon, the job was completed within the hour, in a friendly, and professional manner. The work was checked over on completion and all work was to an excellent standard. Someone called in the next day to ensure all was working well and we were happy with the work undertaken. Would most definitely recommend and use again. Thank you.

We called with a problem and a plumber came early the next day. Another came the next day and fixed the problem. They have always been prompt and good.

Excellent all round

We had Greenfields to advise us, and then carry out work, on our property in south west Scotland. Although they are based in Cumbria, they were happy to work here. We wanted to replace the decades-old oil boiler central heating and add solar panels to the garage. We already had solar on the house. We had started working with a more local company but in the end, after several site visits and email exchanges, we had more trust and confidence in Greenfields than the people we had first sought out. Eventually we agreed that Greenfields would put the solar on the garage, fit a smart charger for our electric car and replace all the central heating: new radiators and pipe-work, new hot water cylinder, controllers and a new Air Source Heat Pump. They also fitted batteries to the existing solar system on the house and integrated everything. We had between four and six men working here at any one time. It was highly disruptive. However, all the men were courteous, cheerful, helpful and hard-working. They were fantastic. They were also skilful and knowledgeable - there was always someone who could answer our questions. They were sensitive to the fact that they were, in effect, causing chaos for a week in our home, and at times leaving us without any heating during February. However, although it may be a bit too much to write that they were a pleasure to have around, it was nowhere near as stressful and difficult as it might have been. There is much paperwork involved in all of this. Greenfields said they would organise everything. They did. They left us with a highly efficient system, all of which functions as it should. They were neat and tidy (at the end!) and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Greenfields installed a ground source energy heating system and solar panels. No quibbles with the equipment. The Greenfields management showed a shocking lack of care when it came to coordinating the project and dreadful customer service following the commissioning of the system. Fortunately for us, the heating engineers installing the equipment were very good, but I gather that they have since left the firm due to mistreatment by the management. Greenfields failed to show any control over the sub contractors who caused an endless string of problems (broken slates, unacceptable levels of mess, pollution of the adjacent river, shoddy work). Once the final bill was settled Greenfields showed no interest in sorting out teething problems. The final straw came when a leaking radiator was reported to them and they ignored the request to fix it. I even sent photos of the faulty valve, which needed to be replaced (they denied getting the email...hmmn!). After two weeks I engaged a plumber to do the job and sent Greenfields the invoice. They refused to pay it. I have spoken to three of their employees who left the firm and they all tell me that this is typical of the Greenfields management approach. I would encourage people to go ahead and get a renewable heating system for their home, but I would also strongly advise them to avoid Greenfields.
