James as Derbyshire electrical services ltd completed our large solar installation in June 2025. He proved knowledgeable and engaged from the outset, able to answer any questions put to him, and tailored the design to our specific needs. Price wise, he was slightly above the average quotes from national installers, but his knowledge and attitude convinced me to go with him for the works. The quality of installation is great, and he took the extra time, without being asked, to make sure solar panel alignment was flush across the installation. At the time of writing (end of July), he’s still actively engaged with the OEM to resolve a small issue with the equipment as delivered. I would recommend his services and use again.

Had a Libbi and Zappi, from Myenergi, installed by James. He was excellent. During the initial specification and installation preparation phase James was very clearly au fait with all the intricacies of matching the units with my solar panels. The cost was very good and everything was documented well on contract. He answered any queries quickly and clearly wanted to get everything spot on before the job started. With this job being relatively small we initially communicated by phone, email and photo. The work was done on time, by James personally, and I was very impressed with his layout and electrical precision. I was shown clearly how to use the system, and it now works perfectly. Job well done!

James and team installed solar panels, an EV charger, a domestic hot water heating system, and a solar battery system for me last year. They were totally professional and extremely helpful… and really nice guys to boot! 😊 James did all the design and calculations to specify a system for me which has proved to be ideal - it operates at pretty much optimum for my particular circumstances and property. My property has 3-phase electrics and I didn't want the battery inside the house, so James spent time with me assessing both my needs and concerns and didn't just try to install a 'standard' or 'simple' system for me as some other firms wanted to do simply because it was easier for them. I thought the price James quoted was really competitive and I am very happy with the results. I'd recommend them to anyone, although I try not to in case they're too busy with other work if I need them to do some more work for me 😉 After all, if you all used them too I might have to wait a long time for them to have any availability for me! Obviously I'm just kidding - if you want an excellent, extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and professional team then you can't do any better than Derbyshire Electrical Services Ltd.

Had a fan install, a while back, the wired it in trunking, which is not straight. After they had gone my lights kept going off on the electric box, but everytime I rang up to get it sorted I could not get through. Ended up paying again for it to be put right by another company. Would not recommend

Like others I was connected to James through Hypervolt. Can honestly say James was quick to respond, dealt with a small issue with the case really well (Hypervolt supplied a unit with a label that couldn’t be removed and a small scratch). I’d have no hesitation recommending James.

I went through HyperVolt's website to look for approved installers and was connected to James who did a remote survey and explained everything involved with fitting an EV charger on a video call. James was attentive and listened to my concerns of making sure the installation was neat as I'll be looking at it every single day. Unfortunately, one of James' staff had an emergency on the day of the installation so we had to postpone. James made me aware as soon as he could and offered to come and complete the job at the weekend. I was in no rush as my EV was still on order so I suggested we do the following week instead as I don't like working weekends either! Jason did an excellent job at making the install look neat and answered any stupid questions I had along the way. Jason showed me how to use the HyperVolt app and made sure all the settings were configured correctly. Thanks James & Jason for doing a superb job at a reasonable price.

James was excellent - both with the electric car charger installation itself and advice on different products / wiring arrangements compatible with our solar panels. I'd definitely recommend him - he knows his stuff and is very professional and helpful.

Gave me a quote from pictures, managed to fit me in quickly for the EV charger and did a bit more work for the same price in reconfiguring the consumer unit. Very knowledgeable and conversational.

We opted to have a Hypervolt 2.0 vehicle charger installed which needed to be installed by an approved Hypervolt installer. We took the opportunity to upgrade our old consumer unit at the same time. James was very helpful in talking through the options and the work was carried out quickly and professionally. They turned up on time as agreed. Any mess was cleaned away and follow up paperwork was provided. I would certainly use DES again for future electrical works.

James was professional, polite and did a great job of installing an EV charger, we had a couple of hiccups not James fault and he went out of his way to get the job done on time. Quality company, great person to deal with would recommend his work and use him again.

Really good job done helped with light fittings and moved sockets, left no mess and very efficient all tasks completed well within the agreed time. Would use again in fact will use again when we need more work done.
