Alex Rolfe carried out my boiler Type A RCD installation and the service was excellent from start to finish. He was professional, friendly, and explained everything clearly before completing the work efficiently. The installation was done to a high standard and everything was left tidy afterwards. I would definitely recommend Alex and BOXT to anyone looking for reliable and professional service.

We are not very happy with the boiler service we received this week as some damage was caused which resulted in a 2nd visit by engineer (to rectify a water leak from the boiler) which could not be repaired and consequently we had to call the manufacturer who came today and fitted new parts

BOXT Shows The Way.
My combi boiler needed replacing. I tried to obtain quotes but only BOXT responded quickly and positively while other suppliers prevaricated requiring site visits etc. After submitting my photos BOXT kept me fully informed and I had a range of competitively priced boilers to choose from and my choice was installed the next day. The gas engineer Liam was very professional and left the working area spotless and gave instructions on how the system worked when he had finished.

Boiler installation was quick and easy. Unfortunately the boiler isn't working properly. We were left for 5 days without hot water. After chasing the issue they've told us it will be some point on Wednesday.. leaving us without hot water for 1q days. After spending 4k we're really hot impressed with the service.

Excellent service
Excellent service, great technician. Would highly recommend
If I was just reviewing their sales process on their website it would be 5 start as they have absolutely nailed that. Well done! Unfortunately the service they deliver is poor due to reliance on throw party contractors. It’s less the fact they are using third parties but more the communication between them and me the customers Air conditioning engineer meant to arrive at 9 for dual room system but arrived at 2pm, and only had time for half the job and needed to return . I had to chase and ended up being a week later. Few issues with the job and had to chase for resolution , needed two different contractors, 3 visits, 10+ calls and just generally a feeling they don’t partially care. The key point came from their complaints team who said that unfortunately this is a common complaint! So good value overall snd the end result was good, but if you don’t like a stressful expense then perhaps use someone independent directly
You pay cheap and you get cheap service! And this is exactly how this company is doing, they tempt you with good price only for you to suffer later. Absolutely no care for their customers when they have a leak and instead they are quick to put the blame on you and not be willing to resolve the damage they caused! Listen from someone who has ongoing issues for 2 years that is still not being resolved and do not let them ruin your property and your peace your mind like they did mine.
Absolutely appauling service. If I could give 0 stars I would.Got a new boiler installed and was left with damaged ceiling and leaky pipes! They do not have qualified people install the boiler and the worst thing is that they do not even resolve the issue they caused. Would not recommend!
BOXT: Heating engineers by name, performance artists by trade If you’re looking for a boiler company that delivers less time, less effort, and less competence than advertised — BOXT has you covered. They well and truly BOXT you in. We paid £89 for what their website confidently promises is a one-hour visit. What we received was a 30-minute pop-in, during which the engineer unscrewed two screws, stared into the boiler like it was a magic 8-ball, and left. Efficiency, apparently. Prior to the visit, our boiler was displaying a minor fault. We’d already done some basic research ourselves and had a reasonable idea of what might be wrong. Foolishly, we assumed a qualified boiler engineer might be able to deal with something so un-exotic. Instead, during the BOXT engineer’s inspection, a convenient new fault mysteriously appeared. This revelation immediately justified a recommendation for replacing a major internal component — because when you don’t know what’s wrong, why not suggest the most expensive part? What followed was less “repair visit” and more corporate theatre. The engineer was exceptionally well-trained in showing me how to report the issue back to BOXT, suggesting this might be the core focus of their role. Actual boiler repair? Less so. From that point onwards, the entire experience felt deeply off. So we did the unthinkable and contacted other engineers. The response was unanimous and immediate: laughter. Multiple independent engineers laughed out loud when BOXT was mentioned. One even said they were surprised BOXT did repairs at all, having assumed they only sold new boiler installations to people who didn’t know better. The difference was night and day. These engineers NOT from BOXT: •Charged half the price •Spent significantly longer inspecting the boiler •Actually attempted to diagnose and fix the issue I wish I could say BOXT managed even one of those things. £89 for a visit that achieved nothing, solved nothing, and somehow made things worse. An apprentice on day one, supervised, with Google open, could’ve delivered the same outcome — and probably stayed for the full hour. Perhaps BOXT can reinvest our £89 into staff training, basic diagnostics, or a stopwatch. Until then, I’ll keep an eye out for their future appearance on Rogue Traders. Avoid at all costs.
Absolutely amazing. Id recommend this company 100%. New boiler and 10x radiators fitted in a day by 2 lovely guys and they managed to get an electrician out on the same day to change a plug socket. It was booked as a 2 day job but due to the extra guy being available it was done in just a day. All the old radiators and boiler was taken away. The areas that had the work was all cleaned up. I was shown how to use the boiler and assisted to connect the WiFi thermostat up. The quote I got was over £1000 cheaper than all my local engineers/plumbers were quoting and I got to pick the boiler is wanted. Cant complain 100% recommend this company...plus the customer service over the phone were amazing with all the questions I had prior to ordering. !!!!!
I should have known it was too good to be true. Initially, the company were helpful and made it so easy to purchase…however, our ‘next day’ booking was cancelled the night before (after we have paid for this luxury). We wait three/four days for the next engineer to be available, he takes one look at the job and point blank says he can’t do the job. Despite us supplying photos and explaining it’s an extremely old boiler. So we’re now left nearly £4,000 short while we wait for our refund, no boiler, no heat, no hot water and a 1 year old in the house - which I explained this to them and explained the urgency. So disappointed and they honestly could not give less of a care that they’ve done this to us. Two days unpaid of work, for no work to be done and no help at all.
My mum chose this company, unfortunately without reading an reviews first. They are AWFUL. They kept lying and changing when the new boiler would be installed, the guys who did it were rude and unprofessional, I’ve had multiple issues with the boiler only a few months after installation and they are yet to actually send an engineer out! Have sat in all day waiting today for the engineer that was booked in before xmas and NO ONE SHOWED UP. No communication and I’ve been waiting over an hour on the “live” chat with no response. Absolute scammers, please DO NOT USE THEM.
Total waste of time and space. Emailed to ask if they could give a price for a new boiler and complete new central heating system. Received a reply saying yes, fill in the form on the link provided with all the details which I did, only to be told then that they don't do full system replacements and are online only so can't do a survey. AVOID !!! Update...... emails are sent out by one person and signed by another....just to add more to the confusion and incompetence.
We are super happy with the service Boxt provided us with. We had a broken boiler, fairly new 3yo. We got a quote from some local small business that was trying to scam us. We then found BOXT and arranged an engineer to come down and have a look at our boiler. Bless the man who arrived, he fixed our boiler within 10min by draining the water and putting more pressure into the boiler. We only wish to deal with this company going forward. Also, the whole process or requesting a job to be done is so good. We were asked to upload multiple pictures to help the engineer with preparation for the visit. They also followed up with a call to have a better understanding of what the job may require. Super thoughtful. Also very pleasant admin people and the engineer too. 5 star!! :)
Boiler was fitted fine and works fine but condensation pipe which they insisted in fitting broke some tiles and has leaked 3 times over 2 years and now they are saying its outside warranty and refuse to come back to fix it again unless I pay. Really unhappy with this yet another big company with poor customer care
This is a mixed , fair & Balanced review. Lets start from the beginning. The original Job was meant to take place on Wednesday on the 3rd of December any time between 07:00am - 10:00am after I had reported the work for my Old Alpha CB28 Boiler to be changed into the Navien NCB 300 30kw (Combi Gas) one. It was said that the Company does Next working day Jobs once you request one but In my case that didn't happen. Instead the Job got changed to friday the 5th of December between 07:30am - 10:30am without my consent or knowing due to the admin office telling me the contractor who was put up to do this job has to have a family emergency etc. To me this wasn't the bad part because I know things can happen but It was the fact of things only been placed on one particular contractor instead of passed onto another one to get the job completed on the date which was agreed to. My Home serve cover I pay for monthly recommended me to BOXT & with all this occurring it obviously wasn't a good look in this emergency Situation but there was nothing I could do to back track anything once the contract between Myself & the company had been actioned so I was forced to go through with this. I was left with no heating & hot water for around 4 days. If anyone knows the area of cleethropes especially in December then you know it can be very cold due to this time of year so I had to balance from cutting costs on my electric bill to wearing extra layers , buying extra blankets & doing what I could to stay warm aswell as hygienic in these conditions. It wasn't easy but I managed to get through it. I needed the job do be done to because I have a 70 year old grandmother in my home that must be kept warm , cold conditions impacts them harsher then myself at 29 years old. On a positive note though when the team of 2 contractors did come on friday 07:59am everything was great. The job was done to a satisfactory level , they were polite , very respectful & everything was completed around 15:15pm. To conclude this review I will say this ; I'm not blaming one particular person in BOXT for anything But I will criticize the system , the Booking & the Organisation of how things are set out. If BOXT could get these issues rectified then I have no doubt they could be the number one company in the UK for Boiler installations / Replacements. Next time just say that you will get a contractor to said location for the nearest time available possible instead of saying the next working day when in fact it is unlikely to happen due to unforeseen life circumstances or Human error mistakes sometimes. For anybody that wishes to use this organization for Boiler fit ins , installments & replacements I would say sure you can go with BOXT because they are very affordably priced , work gets done at a high level & their staff via admin calls on the phone or when you meet the contractors in person are polite , respectful & so on BUT do not expect the next working day of things to get handled as your contract states once you get your invoice & several notifications to confirm it. If i was to do it again I would go in with the mindset of the work will be done within the week not the next working day as promised. This is my fair , balanced & mixed review of BOXT as a company.
An engineer came out on Tuesday to diagnose a faulty boiler. Even though BOXT had been sent photos, videos, and full details of the boiler in advance, the engineer turned up with no parts whatsoever. We were told it was the fan that needed replacing and that everything else, including the PCB, was perfectly fine. When BOXT finally returned on another day to fit the fan (a job that somehow dragged on for nearly five hours), just before 5pm we were suddenly told the PCB was faulty, and the engineer left on his merry way. This completely contradicts what we were originally told, raising serious questions about either their competence or their honesty. But what followed was far worse. We were promised they’d return first thing the next morning with the PCB and that their supervisor, “Richard”, would call at 8am to confirm all of this. We received no call, no update, and no attempt at communication whatsoever, even after I had rung the engineer who told me he would contact Richard and get back to me. As a result, BOXT has left a nearly 80-year-old woman with no heating and no hot water for almost five days in freezing temperatures. No apology, no urgency, no basic human decency. Just silence. It is genuinely shocking that a company can knowingly leave a vulnerable elderly person in these conditions and show absolutely zero concern. It’s heartless, it’s negligent, and it speaks volumes about how little BOXT cares once they’ve taken your money. If you value your time, your wellbeing, or your loved ones, do not use this company. I wouldn’t trust BOXT with a lightbulb, let alone a boiler.
Terrible company, had my new boiler fitted 12 days ago, hasn't worked since being installed. Specialist came round and said original installer managed to block the system when they drained it. No communication from Boxt, left with no heating and no plan for resolution. Avoid and hire a reputable installer.
We recently had our air conditioning unit installed by Connor, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. From start to finish, Connor ensured the job was done with absolute perfection. His professionalism was evident immediately. He left no mess behind—the site was spotless when he finished, which is always a huge plus. Beyond the perfect execution, Connor proved to be a true superstar engineer. He politely recommended slight, professional adjustments to the unit's layout that we hadn't considered. As a professional, he clearly knew what would and wouldn't work optimally, and he was absolutely right to make the suggestions. Furthermore, he took the initiative to liaise seamlessly with the electricians when they arrived and departed, making the whole coordination process incredibly easy for us. Overall, Connor made the entire install day effortless and stress-free. We simply cannot fault his work—he is highly recommended!
The boiler arrived late (was supposed to arrive at 7.00am but arrive at 11.30am). The engineer burned my floor and failed to communicate to me that he was intending to move the position of my new boiler down, dropping it 40 cm. My fridge space was under the boiler and now I cannot fit it back to where it was. The fridge has been left to stick out forever because of this. I'm out 3k, I've permanently lost access to one of my doors and a square of space in my already quite small kitchen, because the engineer couldn't be bothered to tell me what he was going to do. I would have stopped him if he had told me he needed to change the position of the boiler that far down. I would chosen a different boiler that could accommodate this requirement. But I couldn't choose anything. He took that choice away from me on purpose because he was pre-occupied with wanting to leave at 4pm (I figured this out later on). Quite frankly this was an entirely negative experience and I wouldn't recommend using Boxt. I complained to Boxt about this asking them to come back to fix it and they've just ignored me over and over again. When I speak to them on the phone they say they understand my frustration and are apologetic but make no plans to fix the issue or offer money back. I have to chase them for updates, for a permanent mistake they made to my home. I've started the complaints process. Let's see what happens. They've been radio silent for 2 weeks. This all could have been avoided if I'd been communicated to, which I wasn't. The engineer simply didn't care, and now I have to live with it, with no help or assurances from Boxt to fix the problem.
Air con experts Seamless from choosing, order, install and warranty. Sales team took ownership. App is brilliant as saves time on phone and the workmen were tidy, professional and thoughtful for a complex job. Excellent products. Thanks so much.
Our BOXT Heat Pump Experience – Honest Review As with most major home upgrades, it's wise to do your research and get multiple quotes. We explored options from national providers and so-called "top tier" installers. Prices varied wildly, and while some seemed polished on the surface, they lacked transparency or didn’t let you speak with the actual system designers. We had previously used BOXT for a gas boiler and were very satisfied, so when we received an email about their heat pump offering, we looked into it. From the beginning, the process was refreshingly simple. The online quote tool was quick and flexible—we tailored it to include full replacement of all radiators and the towel rail. This gave us peace of mind, knowing the whole system would be brand new and efficient, rather than relying on a mix of 10-, 20-, and 40-year-old components. The initial consultation was smooth and accommodating. The overall value was outstanding considering the level of kit included: a premium Vaillant heat pump, 250L Vaillant hot water cylinder, and Stelrad radiators. Compared to a well-known installer who quoted us nearly three times the price (after the BUS grant and VAT), it was a no-brainer. The spec appeared virtually identical. Our surveyor and installer, Paul (KTD Heating), was fantastic. He had years of plumbing and heat pump experience, and brought practical thinking to the table—not just numbers on a screen. He addressed layout challenges, confirmed the large cylinder would fit, and answered all our questions confidently. We felt reassured by his thoroughness. We also had the chance to speak to Andy, the Head of Renewables, who gave generous time and expert guidance on optimising the system. He supported our choice of an open-loop setup with no TRVs, and a max flow temp of 45°C (so far running at 28°C), which is ideal for efficiency. Paul was assigned to the install and worked with a second installer and electricians to see the job through. Installation Experience All the kit arrived early, despite difficult driveway access. The delivery driver came directly from their HQ, covering a 400-mile round trip to ensure nothing was delayed—another sign of real commitment. Paul and Wayne (our second installer) showed up moments later and got to work. They were prompt, professional, and deeply committed. Everything from the laser-straight pipework to the carefully sculpted copper runs (which were almost too beautiful to cover) reflected real pride in their work. Despite many curveballs—including retrofitting into old pipework and replacing 15 radiators—they remained calm, worked late when needed, and returned on time each day to finish the job. They were courteous, tidy, and trustworthy—we had no hesitation leaving them in the house. It’s worth noting they gave up their own time away from family to get everything done right. Performance and Final Thoughts Heat pumps absolutely work. Our home is now evenly heated to a consistent 21.5°C with no hot or cold spots, and the rads don’t even feel hot—just efficient. It’s actually quite a luxury compared to gas, which fluctuated and left some areas too warm and others too cool. Noise-wise, it’s no louder than a gas boiler firing up. On a warm day, it can even act like a mild outdoor AC unit when timed with your hot water cycle. Running costs at standard electricity rates are comparable to a modern gas boiler. Add in smart tariffs, solar, or a modest home battery, and it starts to pay back. On a sunny day, you can cover your heating, hot water, and general electricity with your own energy—cutting ties with gas entirely. Thanks to Paul and Wayne's skill, care, and experience, this complex retrofit was smooth, efficient, and stress-free. If you get the right person designing and installing your system, a heat pump is one of the best upgrades you can make. THANK YOU BOXT, Paul, Wayne and team!
*Terrible Service and Poor Installation I had a boiler installed by this company, and it has been a nightmare. The installation was faulty, leaving me without hot water for over a week, despite having a young child and a full-time job. Their customer service has been unprofessional and unhelpful, constantly delaying the resolution and leaving me with concerns about the safety of the installation. I am extremely disappointed with their lack of urgency and poor communication. I would not recommend this company to anyone—avoid at all costs!
This is Boxt! The company that has 96% 5* ratings....hmmm....sure you do, but what happens to the unfortunate 1% of 1* reviews? I can tell you as I am in that 1%. We decided to go with Boxt at the beginning of January after the current boiler was too old and not very efficient. We did what everyone did and saw their impressive 4.9 rating. We went through the online survey, but obviously they needed to come out and make sure everything was compatible. Sure enough w, had a date within a couple of days bu, that didn't happen so rather than the 8th of Jan it was a few days later. Day of Installation and it seemed to go okay but as we have over excited dogs my wife decided to keep them company, leaving the plumbers on their own. What we ended up having is massive flood which not only ruined the false floor the cylinder stood on but flooded the livingroom, the flooring in the hallway and the livingroom furniture. This was escalated to Boxt who decided to send an engineer out to check for leaks and anything else that could've gone wrong. This was reported back, and no leaks were located. The next engineer who came out on Friday 9th Feb, he was called Paul and when he arrived on his own to access and secure the large cylinder on, I walked in to him with a crowbar underneath the cylinder hammering "bits of wood" underneath it. We were then told that he would be returning and he informed my wife with less than 24 hours notice to tell her he's coming on the 15th. She informed him that she would need more time to arrange work commitments but the reply was "If you want it doing quickly then it's tomorrow" "I'm busy Friday" I phoned Boxt and our complaints handler is called Becky. I Informed her that it wasn't convenient and Friday 16th would work better for us. She told me that Paul didn't have anything in the diary so he wasn't working. Friday arrived and Paul turned up, His job was to secure the floor but he took the remaining flooring out. He drained the cylinder and his job was to Inform us of potential issues and parts that needed changing at the time. He pointed out a part that needed changing and asked my wife to drive to Oldham to pick it, we had to pay but if its faulty and would stop the leaking/flooding then fair enough. He replaced that part and left around half past seven. Come Sunday evening and we had come back from an evening out to discover more flooding, leaks that were never there and coming from new pipe work that Paul had put it. We had to turn the water off and dry the area including the new carpet. We managed to get hold of Boxt who sent another engineer out but he was to inspect the cylinder and not repair anything, he left us with no hot water or heating. Now here's the kicker.... We have been trying to get hold of Becky and nothing, we have left upto 7 answer machine messages and 2 emails and nothing! We have had no hot water or heating for 2 days! No showers, nothing! When Becky finally got in touch today (22nd Feb) we were basically told that it's not the engineers fault and it's all our fault and if we want the cylinder fixing we have to pay. WE HAD NO LEAKS BEFORE BOXT CAME AND DESTROYED OUR HOME AND HEATING/HOT WATER SYSTEM. To add insult we were told by Becky that we can use the £2400.00 new boiler they installed but can't use the hot water? Are you actually serious! We can buy a product from yourselves but can't use it? I am reading this email correctly...yes? You are a lying cheating scumbag company that lies to customers. You have cowboy engineers who will lie to our faces, and when anything goes wrong ,you turn it on the consumer and claim it's their fault! The only thing I take responsibility for is my poor decision in trusting in a company that are happy to take my money but won't take responsibility for issues caused by them. My wife's blood pressure is through the roof with stress. She went to doctors who told her to go to A&E. We are now hundreds of pounds out of pocket as they now want us to pay for repairs on the systen that wasn't broken until their cowboys turned up!
Booked a conversion and was told it'd take 2 days. The job ended up taking 5 days. Between my engineer's ladder not fitting in his van and him spending hours trying to sort this whilst he should have been sorting my boiler, and a whole heap of drama around which boiler I'd booked (based on their advice) I don't know what the worst part was. Maybe it was being without heat and hot water for 4 nights in -2 degree weather? Or maybe is the 28mm copper pipes that have been run through almost every room of my house, left exposed, out in the open and the unfilled holes in my walls that are completely hideous and not even attempted to clean up? Or the damage to the walls around the holes I've spoken with another plumber since who has told me they would NEVER leave a house in the state they left mine in. I've spent so much time and money making my house look good and they've completely ruined it. Maybe it was the joke that the installer made about how he could have moved the boiler and not run the pipes through my house -- after he'd done it? Or the multiple phone calls where I heard him describe the "nightmare job" he was on. From the reviews on here I had really high hopes for Boxt but I can't say I see where they've come from. Speaking to multiple people who have had boiler conversions I don't think anything could have gone worse for me. I was left having to have extra days off work, find alternative accommodation for 2 days more than planned due to the cold, and now have a house that looks like a building site. I'm shocked, and appalled and am seeking legal advice and reporting to trading standards.
