We have worked with DCR for a number of years and we have always found them professional, attentive and customer focused. As with all technical products, there can be teething issues from time to time as the systems get up and running but their customer aftercare support has been exceptional.
We had our original air source system fitted about 12 years ago. Unfortunately due to the control system becoming obsolete our system needed completely replacing. DCR came to look at the problem and recommended a new system. The new system was installed in April 2025 and the team were excellent from the start. Due to the hot summer we had to wait until September for the system to be balanced ( had loads of hot water just didn't need the radiators). As promised DCR came and balanced the system, set up the controls with an easy to use app and made sure tge system was working correctly. The old system didn't seem very efficient regarding heating the radiators and we were never over warm and had to supplement the heating with an open fire and portable radiators. The new system is brilliant, we are now very warm, it's controllable with the app and there is plenty of hot water, it is nothing like the old system, thank goodness. We are very pleased with our new heating and would recommend DCR. They are very approachable and their work force is very professional, all the people we have encountered from the installation team to the office staff have been very accommodating and always been at hand to answer any questions. We would recommend them.
Outstanding emergency service from DCR Due to the recent cold weather, I developed a leak in the water system at my property. I contacted DCR and they immediately dispatched a team to investigate the problem. On the Sunday, the director personally emailed me with a clear action plan, estimated costs, and a full reassurance that the issue would be resolved promptly — which was critical as we had guests arriving. True to their word, they mobilised staff and resources straight away and completed the entire job within three days. The property was made safe, fully repaired, and ready for our visitors without any disruption. What sets DCR apart is not just their technical ability, but how they operate as a company: • Their response to emergencies is exceptional • Their management of staff and logistics is superb • Their repairs are thorough and professional • Their communication is clear, honest, and transparent But above all, they are compassionate, trustworthy, and reliable — qualities that are rare and invaluable when dealing with urgent property problems. I am extremely grateful to Lewis, Emily, Russell, Luke, and the entire DCR team for stepping up and quite literally saving the day. In my experience, DCR is the best company for electrical and plumbing work in the East Midlands — and beyond. Highly recommended without hesitation. — Dr Hisham Maksoud
Informed of delay as usual engineer held up.no problem and really nice young man made sure I knew how to use boiler. Serviced ok cleaned work top. Office staff helpful when booking and paying. Happy to recommend.
We had been planning to have air source heating with solar panels for several years but struggled to find anyone we had confidence in to do the job. A chance encounter with DCR personnel attending a boiler problem in our village church led me to ask them to visit our home, a 70's detached house with basic insulation and an open fire, to discuss options for replacing our 35 year old oil fired boiler. Lewis Morley, one of the directors, spent some time listing our options from a replacement oil fired boiler to a complete switch to air source heating with solar panels on our house and garage with a large battery to capture electricity generated by the panels for use during the night or for selling energy back to the grid. Having decided to get more information about the latter option Lewis arranged for a colleague who specialised in the installation of solar panels to visit to speak to us. We spent a lot of time studying the detailed information about the amount of energy we could reasonably expect to generate and the costings of various options. We rang and emailed various team members for clarification of items and were always able to get through to someone who could help or else had a returned call the same day. One big advantage of DCR is that they have a large enough team to do all the installations of equipment, the electrics and the building work and in early February 2025 our work began. Despite some pretty inclement weather the entire system was installed and running by the end of the first week and we had a functioning heating system. In this time they had organised scaffolding for the house and garage, stripped out our old boiler, oil tank and hot water tank, replaced a hot water header tank in our loft which was found to be leaking, fitted 18 solar panels on our house roof and 12 on the garage (necessitating digging channels across our lawn and drive) as well as removing all our old radiators and replacing them with much more efficient ones. At one point I counted 9 different people working flat out to get the job done. During this time everyone was helpful and polite, involving and informing us at every step, respectful of our property and those of our neighbours and were totally professional throughout. Because our old heating was out of action for about four days we were provided with oil filled portable radiators. The second week was more relaxed and various members of the crew returned to finish off and tidy up residual tasks and ensure the system was working well and that we were happy with all the new controls. By the end of week two everything was as good as or better than new and we were very cosy with our new heating, and endless hot water, amazed at how well our panels were generating and delighted with the clearing up process which even included hosing and scrubbing our driveway. As well an excellent installation team the backroom staff at DCR were also very helpful, kind, patient, reassuring and professional on every occasion. In summary we could not be happier with the way everything went and would certainly recommend DCR.
My 12 year old solar system stopped working. DCR predicted from the symptoms that the inverter had probably failed and quoted to replace it with a choice of brands at very competitive costs. The engineer arrived with a new inverter already on the van which had been ordered in advance should it be required. His test of the system confirmed the old one was indeed faulty, but the rest of the system was operating as it should. The inverter was replaced and commissioned on the spot with the installation being a very neat, tidy and professional job. The whole team from DCR were really courteous, helpful and knowledgeable from initial enquiry to fitting. This is a good, honest, competent and reputable company that I would strongly recommended.
Very professional and honest company. Fitted our solar panels in 2019, at which time they recommended against batteries, and our batteries this month. All work carried out with care and very neat installations.
Quality Just before going away for a pre Christmas break our oil boiler died. DCR came to the rescue and installed a new Warmflow boiler while we were away. Emily did an amazing job in liaising with us through the entire process ensuring everything went smoothly. Mathew and Logan carried out the installation to the highest standard impeccable job. Upon our return the house was spotless and warm. We could not be happier with the service provided by DCR, highly recommended for their prompt response, professional team and top notch installation.
Solar panels and battery fitted in November.Very professional from initial fact finding visit to completion of the installation. It was good to be able to discuss our needs and be given various options. Communication with office staff was excellent. All the workforce on site were courteous and polite. The work was completed in under 3 days and everything left clean and tidy. Would have no hesitation in recommending the company for this sort of work.
I recently had my new boiler installed by DCR and Luke was fantastic, Very polite and tidy, looked after our house like it was his own. Emily was also great and kept us informed on everything before and during the installation. Would highly recommend to anybody.
VERY HAPPY with DCR. Following a careful assessment of local solar providers, I went to DCR for a single project to cover everything (solar panels/batteries/car chargers & extra electrical outlets across the property, such as in the garden) and their work has been exemplary - prompt, courteous and very tidy. The resulting SolarEdge system works well and there were no unexpected additional costs. Snags were dealt with quickly and well. Highly recommended.
From start to finish - that's from the initial call to installed, running and working - it took DCR less than 2 weeks to quote and install a new Heat Pump heating system, and remove the old Oil setup. All the way through the communication was excellent, they sorted the BUS grant and the team worked all day every day to get everything up and running - including repainting the boiler room. Great job, very happy. Special mention to James for leading the team, and Lewis for coming on the last day to get the glory of the handover. Update -- After a week ( just heating hot water at the minute ) The house electricity bill is actually less than it was with the old oil boiler!
Excellent work on fitting my new oil boiler and chimney liner. They left a nice clean job and worked very hard. They also ate a lot of biscuits but that's OK with me!
DCR were extremely helpful and professional, as another company left us without heating and hot water over the Christmas and New Year period. I called DCR and their representative Lewis turned up the next day and arranged for a new boiler to be fitted the following day. We received a first class service from them and we would definitely recommend DCR if you have any issues with your boiler, heating, radiators and hot water. A big thank you to Emily, Lewis, Jake and all the team at DCR and especially the team that turned up to help us.
We live in a new build (2015) bungalow that is well insulated and has underfloor heating, and to which we added a 12 Panel Solar system about 5 years ago. Over the last 5-6 years the original garage installed combi oil boiler has been terribly unreliable with motors and valves being replaced on multiple occasions. I finally got fed up with going outside to reset it and faced with replacing the same parts again, I thought it was time to give an Air Source Heat Pump a go. Having arranged a meeting with Lewis to look at the house he quickly persuaded me that this was not the best way forward and that I should stay with an oil boiler, but half the size of the old one, and add a water immersion that would mainly be heated by solar power (iBoost) that can be topped up by oil if the weather was poor. The boiler he suggested is ready for Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil when it becomes more main stream so I can go "green" when it becomes sensible to do so. We moved forward with it and the system was installed between the 5th and 9th June. From the photo you can see the quality of the work carried out, and I am highly impressed with the result. Pipes are plumb and true, the wall hanging fixtures are completely capped off, and the "making good" has been excellent. Even the bricks where the old flue came out of the garage have been matched perfectly... that is hard to do. They also clear up each and every night and the site was spotless when they left. The team have done a great job and the quality of work is as good as any I have seen... Of course I cannot say too much about heating - time will tell, but I was initially a bit concerned about the hot water as the tank has 2 thermostats and only the lower one has a temperature readout in the garage - this is set to 55 degrees. The lower one is actually visible on an App and shows the temperature at the lower section of the tank. During the very hot days we had I was struggling to understand what the app temperature was still only reading 24-25 degrees when the thermostat was set to 55. Solar seemed to be hardly ever on and the temperature was not going up. What I did not realise, until it was explained to me, was how much temperature difference can be felt within the upper and lower part of the tanks - yes I know heat rises, but its only 6 to 8 inches! I believe the tank is partitioned. The iBoost heats about 120l of water to the upper thermostat setting, which is too hot to hold your hand under. It is enough for two of us to have a good shower of an evening without running out of water. The lower part of the tank is heated by the boiler should I choose to do so. I can say now that iBoost heats up quickly on sunny days, but even over the last couple of overcast days it has heated the tank by mid afternoon utilising solar power very efficiently. Because I am lazy, and would probably forget to switch it on if the weather was bad, I do have the boiler coming on for 20 minutes in the evening just as a back up, and this heats up the lower part of the tank, but I would wager this is way less than the combi was using to keep the pre-heated water tank up to temperature. I am a convert thus far. Hopefully it will continue to work well throughout the winter sunshine even though I fully expect the boiler to be working harder on the duller days. Thank you DCR for the quality of work, communicating with us during the iBoost discussions, and keeping me happy whilst I whinged about the last roof tile... You do great work.
We moved into an 1800 6 bedroom 6 bathroom house with 1970 heating with 3 outdated boilers and 28 radiators that were not in keeping with the style of the house. I called DCR to survey the heating of the house as many radiators did not have thermostats in them so we’re either in or off. Lewis produced a very comprehensive report of what we have now and what DCR could provide for our future needs bringing is back to the 21st century. This involved removing the 3 old boilers and replacing with more economical Viessmann boilers. However there was the repositioning of the new boilers and the pipe work and the removal and replacement of 28 radiators. This was not a small job and was estimated to take 3 weeks with 4 heating engineers and one electrician required. I can’t praise enough the professional and courteous way they all worked and the cleanliness whilst they were working. Everything was completed on time and nothing was too much trouble. All the rubbish was taken away daily. We were never left with piles of rubbish outside or inside. Brickwork that needed replacing was done so you would not know there had ever been any vents previously. All the guys were very personable and just got on with their respective jobs. After 3 weeks it felt we had got additional members of our family. We now have a heating system in place we can control remotely and will pay itself back in about 3 years given the amount of gas we were previously consuming. I would not hesitate to recommend DCR and the professional service they provide. They are certainly not the cheapest but very good value for money and do what they say they can do on time and without any fuss with professional people doing a professional job.
We had three radiators that required fitting, two of them needed full relocation including floor removal and DCR team did outstanding job, the outcome was even better than we expected. After the job was completed DCR team ensured that everything was working properly and didn't leave until everything was up and running. Looking forward to working with DCR team again, if I could I would give 10⭐ Big thank you to the team who attended our property and admin Emily for great customer service.
I can’t recommend the DCR team enough for their work replacing our Air Source Heat Pump System, from the director level (Lewis), through all engineers and also the admin team. As you can imagine, the cost of this is type of thing is expensive so we wanted to get it right. We had several other companies review the works but DCR were extremely thorough with the different options available to us and they were always very responsive. From start to finish, we were always made aware of what was happening. The team were very professional and special thanks go out to Gav and James for their efforts. Thank you
We have been very impressed with DCR. They really do understand renewable systems. We contacted them to help sort out a number of problems we were having with our ground source heating system and they did a fantastic job. As a result we asked them to install a solar thermal hot water system for us. As expected it was professionally installed and works very well. As well as being competent engineers the support service is excellent. We are 120 miles from their office and they happily travel over and spend the time to carry out any necessary work or servicing.
DCR recently installed a new boiler and tank system for us. It was a fantastic service from start to finish. From the initial quote to installation they were brilliant. Straight forward and honest about products and what was needed. Would definitely recommend DCR, great company. Thanks 😊
