Did a great job on installing my solar panels, inverter and battery. In and out in a day. Not the cheapest but a good competitive price. There was a small technical issue in the installation, but most importantly, they sent an engineer out to fix this within a week. Was pleased with how it all went and would recommend them to anyone interested in solar.

I recently had solar PV panels and battery storage fitted by SWS Northwest after completing a lot of my own research. After several quotes from other companies I decided to go with SWS. There were several reasons for this. Firstly the really positive reviews from previous customers, the fact they actually came to the house and the time spent by Nic explaining the full process who provided me with a detailed estimate / report following his visit. From the initial visit of Nic to the installation by the fitting team was seamless. They arrived at the stated time and completed the work without any fuss, cleaning up as they went along, they were a good bunch of lads!. The system is working great!

From, Rick arriving and taking us through the process of buying, installation and after service we cannot faulter the work undertaken by SWS NorthWest Ltd. Tom and Adam installed the panels, inverter and batteries in one day and helped setup the system once we were able to get the Internet to work, after accidentally breaking the phone cable. I would highly recommend this company.

Professional and competitive

Easy process from the quotation all the way through to installation. Installers were friendly and cleaned up after themselves and the price was nicely competitive. Have already recommended SWS to family who are now interested.

SWS excellent Solar and Storage installers

A colleague recommended them after they fitted some solar and storage for him so I requested a quote. The engineer (not a salesman) Michael came to my house and provided a solution which was not only the cheapest but provided the most panels & storage and was best for us, not just the easiest to install. Batteries and Inverter were put in the loft, out of the way and panels on the best part of the roof over the difficult to scaffold conservatory. The 2 engineers came to install just a week after I placed my deposit and worked really hard all day and the system was generating power by 7pm. I had my technical questions were answered and explained well by Michael and the installation engineers. I have already recommended SWS to friends and would again. I was a bit disappointed to see diesel company vans & cars turn up. Companies like SWS should should know how easy and cheap to run electric cars and vans are. I know you are in this business to make money but your customers want you to help the environment too and running EVs would have got you 5 stars.

Excellent people to deal with. Selected SWS out of a shortlist of three as 1. They actually came to see the property before bidding, others didn’t. 2. Whole process from bidding to completion took only two weeks. 3. Clean and neat workmen 4. Took the time to explain how it all works

They did a thorough survey and report before I agreed to have panels and battery installed. Installation was professional throughout. However, an enquiry with them to have an extra battery fitted (made in early February 2023) is still not responded to despite repeated requests. I have written to Simon twice but to no avail. Disappointing!

We had these guys fit our solar back in January and have nothing but good things to say about them. The "sales" guy, Rick, was not pushy at all. He clearly understood solar and explained it in a clear and concise manner and basically said there isnt much room for negotiation as they are not trying to rip people off. They installed a bigger installation than anyone else quoted for, gave me exactly what we wanted and was considerably cheaper than anyone else who quoted (for smaller systems). The app that comes with the system is great, takes a little time to make sure you are doing everything correctly and how you want but it is detailed enough to allow you to sell to the grid/take from the grid at times that best suit you. 10/10

Completely satisfied with our experience - from initial contact to survey to installation. Communications were all dealt with efficiently and promptly by Emma at the Office. Overall installation was clean and quick, including erection and removal of scaffolding. We are already seeing the benefits, although to date 21/12/22 still waiting for DNO notification.

Good experience!

Start off.... once we managed to get a commitment for the initial survey (six months of emailing and rejections to about twelve companies!!), it took SWS Northwest about a week to get the installation date fixed and that side all went well. Communications not so good. Once the committed date was set, there was no further communications. A follow-up reminder/check of the arrival day (and time!) would have been useful. Told a day was going to be needed, so assumed early start given shortness of November daylight hours. Installers didn't arrive until late morning (didn't need to be up so early, then!). Most of the external parts arrived separately; the batteries and inverter arrived with the installers. Scaffolders turned up as anticipated the day before the installation (again, no confirmation of day and time). Installation went very smoothly and all finished/tidied within the day. App training was a bit basic and quick - a little more time on understanding the processing would have been nice. That said, an issue with the inverter's display was sorted remotely within a few hours after being raised. Scaffolders were good on the pre-installation day. However, despite numerous promised dates for removal, now over ten days since installation and still there. Cold snap in weather may be mitigating circumstance, but other companies were erecting and removing in our area over the same days. Again, communications could have been better on this. Nic Goodwin, the surveyor, has been excellent. Replied to our numerous queries within a few hours with solutions/answers - despite being in hospital for a knee op (hope all is good, now!). The other SWS Northwest employees and sub-contractors were all friendly, efficient, professional and easy to have on site. We missed on the 'bird nesting protection' which meant a return visit the next day which cost us an additional unplanned £500. Might have been good to have that mentioned when discussions on the installation quote were made. Sounds like a lot of niggles, but, overall, the process was smooth and scaffolding aside (well, not yet!) painless and delivered and running on schedule. Everything up and running within the day - already seeing some of the benefits in terms of 'off-the-grid' usage reductions. Paperwork - quotes, guarantees, certifications, etc all sent by email within a few days of installation. Overall, the company deserves a 4.5/5 star - one of the easier home improvement projects using outside companies we have done!

PV system installed and working well, but there were some issues

PV installation with batteries complete and seems to be performing even better than predicted. There were however some issues with the installation mainly due to poor planning and lack of communication. Not having the correct fittings scuppered the initial fitting, then failing to turn up on another day without notice caused further delays and was very disappointing and frustrating! I note that there are a few recent reviews that mention communication issues. Hopefully these are now sorted ... just having somebody at SWS taking control and responsibility for each installation would be good - it shouldn't be me, the customer, chasing up to find what is happening. So ... in the end I'm very happy with the final system and the competitive cost, but the communication needs improving.

A great job by SWS

A great job by SWS. Previsit, panel delivery, scaffolding delivery and installation smooth and efficient. All the staff office, sales and Installation guys polite and experienced. Maybe more communication between office/sales and fitters as battery location and water heater which wasn't need wasn't conveyed to the fitters. But we discussed on the day and they took it in their stride and completed everything skilfully.

End result ok but please work on your communication!

Really pleased with the sales process and the end result (solar + battery). Communication from the sales reps was great prior to the installation, however, the different contractors were hit-and-miss. It was clear from the number of questions being asked that the contractors hadn't been given a design or plan of what they were to do and they had to attend site multiple times over a three-week period to get the job done. One particular roofer seemed to almost have a meltdown that he didn't know what to do and they had to send someone else the same day instead. With all the issues with the contractors, I was able to see the panels up close prior to them going on to the roof and they are a different brand and wattage to what was quoted and priced up. They are 400w and were supposed to be 420w. This isn't a massive amount but a quick look online reveals they are about £50 cheaper per panel. I raised this with someone on a call and they would 'look into it' however I was chased after completion for full payment so I guess nothing will be done about it. End result ok, however, communication during installation needs working on eg if you can't get something that's been quoted actually communicate that and maybe lower the price if it's a cheaper item!

Investing life savings in Solar panels and batteries is never going to be impulsive , brilliant efforts from all involved made it easy . Nic Goodwins very thorough survey ( including the loft ! ) , ever cheerful and polite installers and office staff who followed up every stage to ensure all had gone to plan . The system has already made our lives better and SWS deserve their success . Unreservedly recommended

A sound choice for Solar & Battery

After extensive research, quotes and occasional visits we chose SWS for our solar install, and we have no regrets. The system specification was solid, price was very fair, engagement was good and the install was professional. Among the things I liked was the initial site visit (the only company that did). The understanding of our needs and flexibility of SWS to accommodate. They did just fire off a quote and forget, they put the effort in to configure a system that would work well and at a price we could afford. I also felt assured that they were a professionally run company with all the relevant trade accreditations. My only point of criticism is that operational documentation for the app as well as advice on how best to run the system was somewhat lacking. Although they did provide this on request. All in all, and with knowledge of other people's experiences, I do not hesitate in recommending SWS as a sound choice for a solar and battery installation.

From the initial on site survey, through to quotation and the completed install, the entire process was dealt with in a timely and very professional manner. Richard who came to the property to perform the survey was polite, friendly and informative, at no point did I feel pressured into a sale. Hannah at the office always answered the phone promptly and kept me updated throughout the process. The fitters and scaffolders all arrived when we were told they would and had the system up and running within 48hrs. I am extremely happy with the quality of workmanship and the manner with which this company conducts itself, I would highly recommend them to anyone considering solar and battery storage installation. Prior to engaging with SWS North West, I had paid a deposit for another company to perform the installation, however this turned into an absolute nightmare with conflicting information, no customer service support and changing contract details resulting in me withdrawing from the installation and moving over to SWS North West. A massive thank you from me to all the team at SWSNW, you are a credit to the industry and a pleasure to deal with.

Great System / Communication Lacking at Times

Really pleased with our solar panel and battery installation. SWS came to the house and provided their quote as promised. Communication initially good but went off track somewhat during installation. Work done by different contractors - scaffolders, roofers and electricians and SWS took a back seat and I had to make lots of calls to get the job completed, which was frustrating at times. End result positive and I would recommend but some improvement needed.

SWS just completed a Solar panel…

SWS just completed a Solar panel installation on our house. The job was completed with the minumum of fuss or distruption. Despite a slight delay for the day of installation, communication was good to let us know what was happening, and the fitter and roofers turned up exactly when they said they would. The system seems to be running well, and any communication with their main office has been very polite and efficient. The fitter even came back on the Sunday to complete the extra solar boost pack.

Great job done by lovely people

A really friendly team of people who did a great job. I chose SWS because of their initial approach to customer service, they were the only company to come to our house and actually look at what we wanted with us. That level of care continued throughout the process and everyone we spoke to or came to the house was friendly and did a great job! Super happy with the system!

Highly recommend this company

I don't normally bother with reviews, but it's refreshing to have a company that take great care with customer service. Everyone from the office team, sales and importantly the guys on the ground were fantastic to deal with. Friendly, efficient, helpful and happy. Thanks for a great experience.
