A Solar install full of sunshine.

From the moment I explored the idea of solar with Leonie, to the fantastic install team, (John, Wayne and Neal), finishing the build, our experience has been amazing. Then the back up from the office team and the coordination by Rosie, has left us feeling supported and very happy with the install. We are now generating our own electricity and have already been able to charge our car as well as charging our batteries,(in just a few hours at the end of the day). We would highly recommend the MMHG team to anyone looking at solar. Thank you all.

I wanted to take a moment to give formal recognition to the installation team — Mark, Mark and James — who completed my recent solar panel install. From the moment they arrived, their service was genuinely outstanding. I honestly don’t think the experience could have been any better even if I was King James. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and every step of the job was handled with care, professionalism and a brilliant attitude. They took the time to clearly explain what they were doing, why they were doing it, and how they were overcoming any challenges they encountered. The communication was spot on from start to finish. Having worked in customer service for almost 20 in customer service, I can confidently say I’ve never witnessed better service. I couldn't help look at the safety standards (as discreetly as I could!). Every harness, every karabiner, every piece of equipment was used exactly as it should be, with absolutely no shortcuts. Awful experience with them. Although the panels and the overall system works, the actual installation is bad. We’ve been infested with pigeon, nest and our brand new loft extension roof is covered in bird poo. I chose them because they specialise in flat roof solar panel, but their installation is not suitable for pigeon. It’s not with the price you pay. I won’t comment on pitch roof business as I didn’t use them for that, but for flat roof avoid this company. There are way better places for it.

The system has completely changed how I manage my energy: I’m now running the house on cheap off-peak electricity throughout the winter and maximizing my solar usage during the summer. I am truly impressed by my encounter with Bobbie at MakeMyHouseGreen. It seems rare to talk to someone intelligent, well-informed & focussed on your concerns. Rather than simply trying to sell me something he was able to examine what I wanted & identify relevant issues so avoiding unnecessary expenditure. Simply excellent.

First Class installers but the business is chaotic.

In summary, Top quality installers and helpful staff, held back by befuddled business systems. read on to learn more. First and most importantly, The installers do a fantastic job. Kia, Jack, Tyron, Frankie and Louis. They are very neat and tidy while working, take a lot of pride in ensuring the quality of work is robust, will last, no shortcuts or bodges, is fully compliant with regulations I didn't know existed and the end result is neat and tidy. Even if it means they have to take a more difficult route to get there. Secondly, The person I had as my contact, Rosie, is a compassionate and understanding true people person. Despite the many and varied issues I have had, she has doggedly trudged through them all to find a solution where possible. It's also fair to say the company as a whole is trying hard to improve. But MMHG. Where to start. I think in summary they have real and existing issue with their business systems. The result is a muddled experience that seems to have taken forever, and is still ongoing. My journey started on 2nd July, 2025. At time of writing this review in January 2026, I am still waiting on important documents to allow full export to match the system I was sold by their Guru and had fitted. The Guru is basically a salesperson. During the selling process they have many diagrams and calculations to show what can be achieved. The more you buy, the better the system and better the long term return on investment. The do a site survey too. The survey has all the information needed to apply for full export. But it is not passed on. The initial install was offered in August, but I couldn't do that so it was delayed until the first week of September. A further delay because the scaffolders needed the supply cables from my DNO shrouded, something highlighted in the July survey. Delayed it until mid October. Mid October, sheathing covered, contractor scaffolders arrived Monday, install done Wednesday and Thursday, scaffolding removed on Friday. A tantalising glimpse of what MMHG can do. The spec had changed from my agreement with their Guru. But the new spec was better, and had great reviews, so I was happy. After completion, the installers told me a vital part of what I had bought (Gateway) wasn't available in the UK so they would have to come back at a later date. (At this point it's worth noting MMHG's payment policy: £200 starts the process then three instalments of varying size at various times with the last due once the job is complete and the homeowner is happy.) The Gateway was not installed until mid November. In the meantime, keen to get the ball rolling with Export, I asked for all relevant paperwork, but I wasn't allowed it until I had settled the full amount, something I wouldn't do until the job was complete and I was happy, as per their terms. I found myself at an impasse with MMHG. Their computer just said no. When the Gateway was installed the rest of the system started to misbehave with how it functioned with the app and how it reported data. I took many pictures, sent many emails, but kept getting everything but an actual installer onsite to check the last modification was done correctly. This seemed a logical action to me. Their process was to contact the manufacturer for advice and wait endlessly for a reply. Even telling me they were stuck because of the wait. I continued to withhold the final payment. And as a result MMHG refused to release the documents to enable export. My contacts' hands were tied, as MMHG's systems only worked this way. In December, 5 months after the install started, I wrote to them outlining my issues. Again MMHG sprung into action and showed the type of company they could be. Within a week an installer was on site and had found and rectified the issue. They assured me they would never shy away from any issue. It just took a proper letter to remind them. The installer also found another issue, but didn't have the time to rectify it on the day. we agreed both of us would write to MMHG to ensure he could return at a later time to sort it. The system worked again, so I paid the final bill. Having lived with solar and battery for a while, contrary to what the Guru said, I found the battery size was possibly not big enough. So I enquired about getting by battery doubled in size. The initial reply demonstrated even they weren't sure what I had. Confusion reigned, and it affected their quoting system. But the real kicker is the documents. I got them on final payment just before Xmas 2025. I did't act until Jan 26, but found MMHG had applied for a restricted Export application, limiting me to 3.68kW instead of the full 8.5kW I had installed. The Guru had all the info back in July and my DNO is happy to grant it. But MMHG have not acted on the info they had because their systems are not wired this way. So I continue to wait............

Very thorough in preparation for the install and were decent value. I felt I was overcharged for the extras around the installation.

Absolutely abysmal post-installation support

I chose MMHG for a battery-only installation. From the outset there were basic administrative issues. They recorded my name incorrectly and failed to correct it despite multiple requests. The system installed was 2×10 kWh FoxESS batteries with a 10 kW inverter. We explicitly discussed both batteries being installed outdoors. On the day, the engineer installed one battery outside and one inside, which was not agreed. Post-installation support has been very poor. I raised repeated issues about the batteries failing to fully charge overnight in cold weather. Each time I was told “an engineer will call you,” which never happened. When I eventually contacted an engineer by text, they suggested a setting that does not exist in the FoxESS system and then failed to follow up. I later discovered the batteries have no heaters. Given that I stated from the start they would be installed outside, this should have been identified and discussed before installation. Every day the system underperforms forces me onto day-rate electricity, directly delaying return on investment. Finally, I was explicitly told that the MCS certificate would allow me to access an export tariff from the battery. This has turned out to be incorrect, meaning excess stored energy cannot be exported, further delaying RoI. Overall, poor communication, inaccurate advice, and ineffective after-sales support have made this a frustrating experience.

Great service from start to finish. They know their stuff and check for all the potential issues that might affect the install. I was given lots of options for the solar panels and battery. Installers were quick and tidy. A few days after the install, I lost power to my inverter but the electrician came back and fixed the issue quickly. Really happy with the results. If we have a few hours of good sunshine, we have enough power in the battery to keep us going until the next day.

Great company and system. Knowledgeable salesman called Bobbie Lawrenson gave good advice and talked us through the best installation for us. The work was booked in promptly by Rosie. The team of Chris, Belle and Lauren on electrics and James on the roof. They all were professional, conscientious and slightly OCD which we liked. The solar panels are up which combined with the amazing Sigenergy battery installed at the same time allows me to effectively use solar power and "off peak" electricity stored overnight in the battery throughout the day!

Got a letter through the post from the council promoting this along with a £500 discount, so thought I'd have a look and see how much this is. You are forced to give your phone number and contact details for a quote, despite it saying you won't be contacted unless you make an order. The price was well out of reach for me, but something to think about for the future. But since getting the quote I have been called constantly by this company, despite saying I'm not interested. I blocked the number and have been contacted by numerous different numbers, I believe they have sold my number.

We got a few quotes from various companies before deciding on MMHG, and the choice was clear after speaking with Fin, our initial contact. He had the most knowledge, gave the best recommendations, and was one of the few who did not pressure us into making a snap decision. MMHG is also one of the few companies eligible for cashback offers from banks like Santander when taking out a personal loan for solar panels, a deal we were delighted to take advantage of. Once we signed up, we were handed over to Rosie from customer service, who was fantastic from start to finish. The process was straightforward. We were presented with two clear options, had an engineer visit to confirm everything, and then paid the second instalment. The scaffolders were in and out in under two hours, and the very next day, our panels and battery were installed. The installation team worked quickly, left no mess, and took the time to walk us through the app, explain how the panels work, and outline any upkeep needed. The results have been incredible. Our daily electricity spend has dropped from around £7 to under £3, and on a good day, it is as low as £1.50. The paperwork to sell electricity back to the grid was rushed through much faster than expected, meaning we could switch tariff within days and start charging our battery overnight for even greater savings. MMHG really went above and beyond at every stage. They sent a second person to help the delivery driver unload the panels, collected the packaging the very next day, and communicated clearly throughout. They did not drop the ball once. I love our solar panels and they were absolutely the right decision for our household. I have been recommending MMHG to everyone I know with a roof. My friends and family may be tired of my daily screenshots from the app showing our output, with the current record being 23 kW. Could not recommend this company more highly.

A really professional service. Very slick systems and an incredibly responsive and proactive team from sales through to customer support. I want to call out both Fin and Rosie in particular for the quality of their customer focus. No question was too much and I really felt valued and important. Really happy with the speed at which the whole process took from start to finish whilst never feeling pressured. I had very good experience using MakeMyHouseGreen. All involved are brilliant super friendly. The installation was very quick and straightforward. Everything arranged to suit my schedule. All good so far the system is fully up and running straightway. Very good I would recommend to my friends and family. Also got £1000 cash back from my mortgage lender as they are trusted partner. I would make sure if you are going to go with Solar power you should do a little of research. Excellent job. Hopefully I should start seeing some return after 4or5 years.

Great company to work with from start to finish, from initial consultation where they explained all the options and potential benefits, through to the install that was done in a day and a half. The whole process was done and dusted in just a few weeks. Were now almost self-sufficient from our solar power. As someone who was always eco conscious but previously worried about the cost, Id say dot hold yourself back. Having solar fitted is an absolute no brainer and Make My House Green are the best company to help you on your journey.

I have just had a system installed by Make My House Green. 18 panels, 5kw battery and inverter. I had many different companies quote and I first contacted MMHG based on a discount code from my local council. However I am very pleased I did. The whole process from design, consultation to delivery and install was very efficient and informative. All the staff I dealt with were brilliant with plenty of knowledge and no question was too silly or small for them to give me a decent response. I found the WhatsApp communication very easy, and useful for just catching up on the process. Bobby was the first point of contact for me, and he was great at getting to the point, but in a professional manner, to give me the best system I could afford and use. There was never an upsale on anything, just taking the information I gave and optimising based on that. The final product looks amazing, and so far seems to be working as expected. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quality company and product.

Just had 16 panels and a Tesla PW3 installed by MMHG. So pleased with the final outcome. We've been entirely off Grid a whole week since the install, just using the solar panels and battery. MMHG did a great job at the install and were able to cater to our needs whereas other installers just flat out refused, including having the battery on the other side of the house to the gateway, as well as some challenges with our cladding. MMHG were also able to get 16 panels on our roof when most other installers said we would only get a maximum of 14 panels, maybe 12. MMHG may not be the cheapest but I think they are the best value for money. You get what you pay for. When you make a large investment in something that will last 25+ years, you want it done well and to a high standard and that's exactly what MMHG did. Would highly recommend to others.

We received good advice on our solar panel requirements. The whole process went as smoothly as possible although there was a couple of problems with the scaffolding and electrician changing their dates at short notice however the company rearranged to suit us and where very apologetic. All staff at MakeMyHouseGreen and the tradesmen were all polite and courteous. I would highly recommend this company.

I researched a number of companies and after speaking to the MMHG team decided that I liked they technical approach (they look at your house on Google Maps to gauge roof size), and their straightforward payment (no payment until the work is started, and no full payment until you are generating electricity). Great contact and kept in the loop on all the decisions as we went through the process, and the installers were professional and dedicated, working almost 14 hours on the installation day to get everything set up. Couldn't be happier; 6 months on, the system is humming a long, and I even had a second battery installed to make even better use of the free energy.

The whole experience from the initial conversation about having solar panels installed to their complete installation went extremely smoothly. Solar panel installation - 18 panels with battery storage. We are very pleased with our system, and particularly impressed by how much electricity it generates even on cloudy days. The whole buying and installation process from beginning to end was very easy. The communication was good, we always felt in control and we were never put under any pressure to make a decision.
