Solar PV & Battery Installation

We recently had 15 solar panels and a battery installed (alongside an air source heat pump) and were very pleased with our experience of AES. They were helpful and knowledgeable throughout, and always straightforward and easy to deal with. We would certainly recommend them.

AES Solar Panels and Tesla Powerwall 3

Many companies say that their greatest assets are their people but that is especially the case for AES, whose staff are a credit to the company and the renewables industry. From start to completion this has been an exemplary process with contributions from so many professional and passionate people committed, in our view, to the highest level of customer service. Commercial Director Jamie Di Sotto very kindly gave us his time to undertake the initial survey which left us confident that the company would provide a competitive and fit-for-purpose installation for our property. Our project took one day to install 14 panels on our south-facing roof and a further three days to cable it all up to the Tesla Powerwall 3. This included a replacement consumer unit to ensure sufficient capacity for the new kit. We can honestly say that it was a pleasure to have a terrific group of AES staff on site undertaking the project. Their professionalism and passion in delivering for us was outstanding, including one 6ft 8' operative spending the best part of 2 days bent double in a fitted wardrobe joining up the cables!! Many thanks are also due to your backroom team for the efficiency and care that was taken in delivering this project. It is a huge team effort to bring so many facets of such a project together for customers and again please pass on our thanks to them and the teams that attended site over the four days. In current times, it’s all too easy to forget to take the time to thank companies for great customer service, but in this instance, it gives us both huge pleasure to do so. We can 100% (and much more) recommend AES Solar if you are looking to install solar and a battery, and based on our job, all the other renewables projects they undertake. Shocking

One of their drives tried to run me off the road today, honking their horn and trying to push my car out the road. The merge had finished yet he drove alongside me- on the wrong side of the road now trying to get me to move. If this is their driving then I hate to think what they’re like dealing with customers.

AES solar were excellent . From the sales and office staff to the installers . Steve the installer was excellent , terrific workmanship and no complaining as he had to do 75% of the install on his own due to staff sickness. Very neat and tidy on completion. This is an excellent company. Just had a solar batter system installed and it could not have gone better. The workmanship was excellent, the staff were friendly, helpful and respectful of our house and garden. They were very responsive to requests and questions. I highly recommend them!

A very satisfactory experience at a competative price.

As a retired Marine Engineer with extensive mechanical and electrical experience, I am very satisfied with every aspect of the Tesla3 battery and roof mounted Solar array installed by AES Solar. Initial contact was informative, options were fully discussed, and despite long delays and design changes, for reasons outwith AES Solar control, the project team never faltered and the final system design was spot on. Installation was completed smoothly and professionally. The roof array team were fully prepared for my slated roof, and the Tesla battery & back-up team completed the electrical installation without fuss. The system was set to work and a full brief on system operation and safety matters given before departure. A very satisfactory experience from start to finish, and at a competitive price.

Solar & Battery instalation

I recently had a solar and battery storage system installed by AES on a house I'm building in NE Scotland. From my initial enquiries to the design I found AES to be helpful with all my queries providing good advice on how to get the best system for our property. The installation was quick and to a high standard. The system has been running for two weeks now and we are very happy with the performance of the system vastly reducing our electricity consumption.

Great advise from Jamie from the sales team. Our heat pump uses quite a bit of electricity and the final PV and battery system we got works amazing and saves us a lot of money. Great experince from the first call to commissioning. Do highly recommend AES.

Top Service from the Team at AES Forres

Have to say superb service from the engineers and team at AES Forres. In February 2024 I had an AES system installed with panels and battery which was highly successful and gave me amazing returns financially with significant reduction in my reliance on the grid and the cost of buying power. In October 2025 I requested a doubling of the panels and an additional battery to be added to the system. The second install was certainly more complex for the engineers at AES but they designed and installed me a great system. Given the bigger complexity of the second additional install there were a couple of minor teething problems but the AES engineers have fully overcome all and I now have a superb system thanks to Matt and the AES team. What makes all the difference is this is a local company with skilled engineers in the area, the communication for the couple of weeks whist they got all fully up and running outstanding. I have no hesitation in recommending them from the initial contact from the sales team, through the admin to get the G99 in place, to the install. Superb work guys. Thankyou

We have just had the AES solar team in to fit additional solar panels and Tesla 3 solar battery. Phil, Matt and the team went above and beyond and did a fantastic job. Cannot say thank you enough especially as it was such a wet drizzly cold day here in the Highlands. We totally trust this business to provide good advice and a fantastic service overall. Total chaos

Total chaos Speak to someone different every time you call. Tech seems confused. Electric bill now twice what it was prior to their installation. No explanation how the system works or how to rectify the problem. Subies that did the installation didn’t seem to have any better communications with the office?! Very disappointed. 10 March: turns out the increased electric bill was Octopus not AES!

Just had a solar and battery system installed in November. The whole process was very professional and the approach of Andrew at the initial survey and subsequent fine tuning of my requirements helped drive me towards AES. There was no pressure to spend the most money, though I did end up going for a larger system anyway. Installation was very quick, a day in a half in winter due to less daylight, and no mess was left behind. Highly recommended from me.

Excellent service provided by AES Solar. From the initial discussion with the sales team to installation of the equipment, the AES team went beyond to ensure the work was carried out professionally and ensuring the client was kept informed of progress at all stages. Really appreciate the input of the installation team in recommending the ideal location of the various equipment.

Somehow we have fallen between stools with AES. We spent over £20K on a PV system including a battery. And yet when there is a power outage we lose everything - no light, no WATER, no internet, no phone. What is the point of a battery if it will not power a few lightbulbs, our water pump or a single socket (for internet/phone) in a power cut? I am not accusing AES of mis-selling to us, but I am left scratching my head after all the things our install missed out, and thinking 'how did this happen?'.

Great service from AES Solar. From enquiry to installation they ensured things were seamless and I now have have a great Solar and Tesla Battery system installed. The team answered all my queries quickly and the installation team were fast but thorough to ensure things were up and running quickly.

Fantastic Service

From the initial contact by email, to the installation everyone I dealt with was polite and so efficient. All queries were answered quickly. The installation, complete with battery, was completed within 6 hours. They system was explained and an account set up and again explained to us before the electrician left. All the packaging was removed from site. We took a cancellation time slot, so although we expected to wait months, from initial query to installation was only 6 months, of which 3 of these were waiting for the grid connection notification. Fantastic service from AES Solar. Equipment all works perfectly from the moment of installation. I'm usually very sceptical of glowing reports but this company deserves all the praise.

Very happy with my experience with AES Solar. The whole process took quite a while because they are so busy/Covid etc but they were always realistic about timescales. When the work did get done, all of the on-site specialists -slater, plumber and electrician - turned up when they promised to, worked quickly nd efficiently and really knew their stuff. The sales and design team in the office created and implemented a specification for our roof that takes full advantage of our location and aspect. I thoroughly recommend.

The install team lead by Peter did a great job & the solar PV has exceeded my expectations for winter; with a Tesla powerwall coming later this year. I would advise any potential customers to make use of the option for an in person survey - I took measurements myself using the self survey questionnaire to reduce delays -- but this meant the system quoted didn't actually fit on my roof. The installers did an excellent job, adapting to the available space without needing to reschedule.

Great company highly recommended for both solar thermal and solar PV, competitive price and no-hassle installation. Came out on 2 January 2023 (public holiday) when I had a problem, that's service for you!

Although not stated in their advertising the company will not service or maintain any systems they did not install. Not recommended for general customer services.

Fantastic service from Martin and Ernie. Highly professional, neat, tidy and conscientious. Everything was explained thoroughly and carried out precisely. Also both fitters were polite, friendly and a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend their services.

This company is very busy but it is obvious why they are so popular. From the quotation to installation, the customer experience was excellent.The professionalism of the installation was efficient, clean and tidy and we are already benefitting from the panels installed. I would highly recommend AES Solar.

This company is simply fantastic. I've dealt with all departments, from Sales, to Operations to Billing and Customer Service, and its been a privilege to deal with each person I've come into contact with. Each one is professional, personal and incredibly knowledgable. You also get the feeling that everyone as AES genuinely cares about their customers, about eco-energy and about their colleagues. If I could give them ten stars out of five, I would!

Good at installing but…

Very happy with the way that my system was installed but I reported a fault a week ago but still had no response in spite of multiple emails and telephone calls

Contacted this company due to the number of google reviews. I have a £10k grant available and wanted to get going. They rang back in response to my email, we chatted and he said a surveyor would come out, be in touch ASAP. A week later and I hadn’t heard anything so rang. A pleasant and professional lady said the surveyors were very busy, but someone would be in touch ( I wasn’t told initially it may be some time, but given the impression the call to make the appointment would be soon) In the next day or two a surveyor called and made an appointment for a couple of weeks later. On the day of the appointment he rang to say the previous survey had grown arms and legs and over run, so could he cancel and reschedule? Yup, no problem, these things happen. And here we are, two weeks later and I’ve heard nothing. I’m guessing I’ve fallen off the radar again? If businesses are too busy and don’t want your custom I wish they’d just say, rather than waste my time and increase frustration.

Prompt and knowledgeable service at a reasonable cost. Improved the efficiency of the solar thermal system.
