Just had the best experience with Sopoco - David, Russ, Jess and Jimmy. We had 12 panels and 2 batteries installed just before Christmas. The team were polite, friendly, knowledgeable, tidy and on time and schedule! They sound like simple things but in our experience with other contractors haven't always been achievable. The panels and batteries are great, the app is amazing and the support they have offered is second to none. It's no wonder they are so busy. Highly recommend.

I started researching solar at the beginning of 2025. The tech, and how to choose the right installer (shoutout to r/SolarUK). I didn’t rush. I wanted a system that made technical, financial, and practical sense for my home both now and in the future. System installed: 10 × Aiko 485W panels; Sigenergy: 8kW inverter, 9kWh battery, Gateway Of the 15 installers I contacted, I shortlisted 3. SOPOCO weren’t the cheapest and were initially 3rd on my shortlist, mainly because they’re a smaller, newer company. What changed everything was my conversation with David. He immediately recognised my needs and took the time to walk me through battery value for money, inverter sizing, flat-roof mounting options, roof constraints, risks, and how they would be mitigated. He was the only installer who clearly explained the challenges specific to my property and the solutions they would implement. No vague promises, no glossing over complications. We discussed layouts, orientations, and future expansion (AC and future EV). This led to sensible recommendations such as upsizing the battery and inverter for futureproofing, but never pushy or overselling. All decisions were left with me, with facts on the table. I also really appreciated David’s honesty around timing. I first engaged with SOPOCO during summer, but I wasn’t in a hurry and wanted the job done properly. David explained a Nov–Dec install would be better suited for them, offering a genuine £500 winter discount. In hindsight, the winter install was absolutely the right call: no pressure, no FOMO, and time to properly learn the system while production is naturally lower. I probably put SOPOCO through the wringer with questions (sorry David!). That was intentional: I wanted to see how responsive and patient they were. The answers were always prompt, clear, and pressure-free. No “quote expiring”, no artificial urgency. The quote stayed valid for months, was itemised, transparent, and exactly what I paid. No surprises. Design & planning were excellent. Much of the technical design was done during the site visit, which demonstrated David’s competence. We discussed cable routes, component placement, future proofing, and system logic in detail. Installation was top-notch. Scaffolding went up a week in advance and David, Russ, and Jimmy arrived bang on time, explained the plan, and got to work. The install took three days due to the complexity of integrating the Sigenergy gateway and ensuring everything was done cleanly and correctly. I was kept involved throughout, and any unexpected issues were discussed before solutions were implemented. The team even identified an unrelated chimney issue that could have posed a future risk and advised how to address it. The scaffolding stayed up for longer to allow repairs and to ensure the solar panel system worked properly. This level of craftmanship and professionalism really stood out. Russ deserves a special mention. Not just an excellent electrician, but an absolute wizard with carpentry and problem-solving. The networking cables were… challenging, but everything works flawlessly. Patience of a saint. Post-install support was solid, with a proper handover and documentation completed shortly after. Export went live just before Christmas. There were minor delays with paperwork due to the pre-holiday rush, but everything was resolved quickly. From mid-November to early January, we generated ~250 kWh, used ~507 kWh, exported ~95 kWh, and saved around £72. Not huge numbers yet, but honest ones. It’s been great to learn the system when conditions are tougher. Spring can’t come soon enough! The Sigenergy system is excellent, and the AI makes managing dynamic pricing easy. I’m on Octopus Agile, and it’s real cheap when it’s windy. Would I choose SOPOCO again? Yes. Would I trust them with future expansions? David, pencil me in in a couple of years’ time. If you’re looking for a well-designed, properly explained and expertly installed solar and battery system, I happily recommend SOPOCO.

David and team were a delight , but their expertise both generally and locally are their USP. Initial guidance and follow up re basic elements and seasonal change were exemplary. The system also works really well ! I have recommended several times and would continue to do so.

We chose Sopoco for our solar install, and I'm so glad we did! David and Russ were both so lovely to speak to - very kind, patient, happy to answer all and any questions, and just generally good people. The quoting process was straightforward, and felt like very good value for money Vs our other quotes. More than that, it was a very low-pressure sales pitch, and they were confident enough that their quality spoke for itself without needing to hound us every five minutes (which says a lot!). The install went without a hitch, they treated our home well, and we're really happy with the kit. I've heard some not-great stories from friends who've had solar installed and feel like we really lucked out with these guys. Thank you all so much! We have recently had solar panels installed at our office in Hove and we are delighted with them. David and Russell have been excellent from start to finish. David met us for the original estimate and he went over and above by contacting the manufacturers of our equipment so that he could calculate our needs exactly. Russell was in charge of the installation and him and his team were very efficient and excellent at keeping us in the loop at each stage. David even delayed removing the scaffolding because they had spotted an anomaly and came back to check it out. I was also really pleased with the aftercare provided. David came to see us one last time to check we understood the app and how to analyse our usage and energy generation to get the most cost effective tarriff.

Everything about the installation of our solar power system by David, Russ and team was amazing. From the time David took to explain how the system would work to the professional way in which the team delivered the install expertly and in a timely and respectful manner. Everything was really tidy, the team was extremely friendly, with the least amount of disruption to our busy house. We are really happy with how it all works, and David's advice post install with regards to tariffs and exporting has been really useful. David and his team (Russ, Jess and Jimmy) last month completed for us a flawless new roof solar installation, with 5 kW of panels, a 8 kWh battery, and a EV charger. Of all the companies that quoted for us, Sopoco wasn't the cheapest, but the small price difference was well worth the attention and care they put in our project. We have bird protection netting on our flat dormer roof, and before giving us a quote, David was so thorough that he tested in his workshop how much of an impact netting would have on solar yield and included that in his power calculations. The installation itself was quick, careful and smooth. The scaffolders he employs are very polite and quiet, and took care not to damage any plants in the garden while building the scaffold. As you can see in the photos, they did a super-clean install of the panels, battery and charger, with all cables tucked away and hidden as much as possible. Towards the end of the project, we hit a snag (we hadn't realised that the dormer roof hadn't been built fully according to the plans, so it couldn't hold the weight of ballast as originally planned). David immediately gave us different options for alternative plans (using anchors rather than ballast and reinforcing the window frames under the roof) which he quickly implemented at no extra cost. It can be stressful when things go wrong, which can happen on any home improvement project, so we're very happy that we went with Sopoco, as David has supported us and taken care of us at every step. We recommend them wholeheartedly.

We recently got solar panels and a battery installed by Sopoco. We got many quotes and did a lot of research beforehand and Sopoco really stood out to us. David, Russ and the team were really professional and organised. The job was properly surveyed and everything went about as smoothly as it could have over the two days they were here installing it all. They were so considerate, unbelievably tidy and very calm throughout. We felt we were in safe hands and trusted them from start to finish. Even the scaffolding company they used were really lovely - very respectful and polite and did a really good job - we actually got compliments on our scaffolding! Once the job was finished, you wouldn't have known they had been here apart from seeing the battery installed outside. Russ did a great job getting all the electrics to be completely hidden. David sent a very comprehensive Handover Pack post installation and gave clear instructions on how to set up the SEG and manage the system. It is rare that I would 100% recommend a company but I really couldn't fault these guys. It was a pleasure having them in our house and we are very grateful they made this experience such a positive one! Thank you!

Sopoco were excellent from start to finish, and I would absolutely recommend them. Even though we had done lots of research in advance, making such a large investment in solar and battery storage was still a rather daunting prospect. But Sopoco were always really helpful and responsive - from initial discussions about our requirements, going through details of the quote and options, and answering my many questions. When it came to the actual work everything went really smoothly - they arranged the scaffolding & then completed the installation and commissioning right on time, and the standard of workmanship was faultless. They even followed up to ensure all was working as it should and that we were happy with everything. We've now had the system (18 panels, 6kWh inverter, 16kWh Sigenery batteries plus gateway) running for several weeks and are very pleased with it, and very pleased with our choice to use Sopoco. Sopoco - professional, knowledgable, adaptable with exceptional service and care both before, during and after the install. It took me about a year from first looking into solar to actually go ahead. I did a load of research had quotes from some of the big company’s and a few other local companies, and whilst Sopoco were only very slightly more in price than some Dave, Russ and Jess the Sopoco team were fab the whole way through and I’m so pleased with the value for money, you really get the extra personal service and fantastic product knowledge and a good price for the actual kit which the team really helped me understand what I would get the most out of for my usage and wasn’t spending so much to way over produce or under store in the battery. From walking me through the basics of how solar works and how to get the best out of it, helping me understand switching energy supplier, and dealing with all the admin to help me get up and running. They were fantastic during the install, and really took care not only around my property, but to do a really neat job taking extra time to think about how wires and cables could be run and to the battery and inverter positioning. Even small details like cabling through the loft to hide wires whereas some companies will just have wires direct from panels out of the side of the house. The install happened and the start of summer 2024 it’s now December 2024 and I’m getting the hang of using the GivEnergy system which the team took the time to really help me understand how to get the most out of it. I can really see a decent saving in my electric bills especially in the summer exporting back to the grid, and I have had a few questions after the install which the team have been always happy to help with. Couldn’t recommend higher and in fact have already to a few friends and family.

Our initial reason for using Sopoco Solar was entirely due to our previous experiences with Russ. We trust him entirely and as such trust his commitment in business with David. This proved entirely justified and together with Jess, they installed 24 solar panels, battery and connected our hot water to use excess energy. This was all installed on a new purpose built garage. In addition to this, the after care has been prompt with great explanations.

Sopoco was the only company willing to tackle a difficult site for standard solar solutions. Our roof just couldn't manage enough panels for our needs so we built a pergola in the garden and installed our solar panels on top. It's been a brilliant solution, but wouldn't have been comfortable trialling something so bespoke without having confidence in David and his team. Top marks in terms of communications, efficiency, planning and build/install quality. A genuinely enjoyable experience!

David from Sopoco was spot on from start to finish when it came to installing solar panel requirement on the new build scheme I was completing. I initially spoke with him on the phone and expressed an urgency and he promptly sent me me over a price I found very competitive and the installation and paperwork was completed in good time. An absolutely outstanding bunch of people to deal with from beginning to end - Sopoco are a great local business with expert knowledge in Solar. With a full re roof, solar and battery install to project manage, Dave and Russ made it a painless experience and were happy to coordinate and work alongside other trades people we had on site. Their communication was spot on throughout, taking the time to answer our endless questions in a way that was easy to understand. Our system has been up and running for 4mths now and we couldn’t be happier.

Fantastic experience from start to finish with Sopoco. From the initial quote Dave was really helpful and explained the options available and the pros and cons of adding different batteries to our Solar PV set up. During the install Russ was brilliant and did a fantastic job, persevering to find solutions to some of the challenges presented by the electrics in our house. Russ even took the time on return visits to explain how the inverter and our new app work, setting them to work with our heat pump effectively.
