Gensource come highly recommended from us! We had a solar panel and battery system fitted on our house recently and the whole experience has been excellent. From the initial survey and recommendations done by Gav, to the communication with Robert and the installation by the in-house team - it was all brilliant. The SolarEdge system they supplied has been working well and the whole process of scaffolding going up to completion took less than a week. If you are looking for a very professional and reliable renewables contractor you should definitely consider Gensource.

Last August, Gensource installed 16 panels, split between our East & West facing roof, a Givenergy storage battery and new EV charger. They did a brilliant job from initial quote, pre-installation surveys and finished the whole installation in one day! They were very clued up on British Safety Standards and so our inverter and battery were installed externally with a protective canopy. The guys on site were brilliant and super efficient, explaining how everything worked, including the EV Givenergy App. And the system has been running fine with no faults. We got a 25% grant and 75% interest-free loan from Home Energy Scotland as we didn't have the cash in the bank. We're now getting money back from Octopus's Smart Export Guarantee when our battery is full and we're exporting to the grid. This will bring our loan payback period to well under 7 years. Quite regularly I look at our smart meter and there is no reading as everything is coming from the solar and battery. It fills me with joy that our house at times is totally powered by the sun and this will keep going for at least 25 years. Thanks to Josh, Robert and his team for a truly grand job! Neil

We engaged Gensource after a lengthy tender/consulation process. Gensource were professional throughout with excellent communication and delivered hassle free commercial and domestic installations. Every employee/contractor gave 100% to deliver both contracts timeously. I would have no hesitation in recommending Gensource for future work.

I reached out to Gensource for a sensible price on a new install for 9.9kW of Solar and a Tesla Powerwall. From the first communication it was clear I made the right choice, friendly bunch with no interest in pushing for a sale, rather they looked for a solution for us and advised on what we would need to do realise that. Following a very helpful site visit and review of what we needed and after a bit of to and fro around some skylight install happening around the same time we agreed on a solution and pushed on ahead. The guys were on site exactly when they needed to be, everything delivered bang on time and everything just went so smoothly, everyone we dealt with face to face and over the phone during the earlier stages was fantastic, friendly and keen to help us realise our goals of reducing our reliance on the grid and doing our part for the drive to Net Zero. Post installation service has been excellent also with all the post completion paperwork and details needed to get export payments on the go and following even minor queries are answered with enthusiasm and a genuine feeling of being happy to help. I cant recommend Gensource highly enough, we will certainly come back for any future needs for expansion, heat pumps or chargers.

Gensource and their sub-contractors have been excellent, courteous and friendly to all that they have come into contact with, including neighbours. The electricians went above and beyond. Work was clean and tidy. The inhouse support from the Gensource team was very helpful in aiding the small teething issues we had during commissioning. I am delighted to recommend to any potential clients/customers. A very satisfied customer.

Gensource have been nothing but professional with getting work done from start to finish easy to work with Ryan the electrician worked none stop from start to finish. scaffolders George and crew done same with erecting and dismantling Dougie the setup engineer done the same had a bit teething problems but got sorted out without any hassle Oskar and Evan have been in touch through out answered all my questions and easy to deal with. All and all it has been a breeze all the way through very happy with system and all the guys and can see the benefits coming once I get smart meters sorted would highly recommend Gensource as a company to get work done for you

Gensource are a fantastic company to work with. They recently installed the solar panels at Staggs and did an excellent job. Very friendly and helpful staff from the owners to the reception staff to the roofers. They went above and beyond in helping us secure our planning permission required as well. Definitely recommend this company.

Sept 2024: Gensource have just installed a solar pv and battery system for us and we are so glad we chose them. Nothing was too much trouble - whether explaining the different options at design stage or down to the preferred routing of cables at installation. It was a stress free process and all the team were so helpful and diligent. And all for a very reasonable price. I can't recommend them highly enough. update Feb 2025: so we were so impressed with our solar and battery solution from Gensource that we asked them to install a MCS accredited Air Source Heat Pump system (ASHP) to replace our gas boiler radiator system. Its been in since mid-November so I'm writing this review after a few winter months and am very happy to report that the system has worked wonderfully and kept us warm throughout. As with our previous experience of Gensource, they kept us fully up to date on design progress, sharing plans and talking through options and advising on the best, most efficient solution. I had many questions as I really wanted to understand how the system worked and what would be involved during installation - they were only too willing to explain everything to put us at ease. They provided all documentation related to applying to Home Energy Scotland for the renewables grant and loan and supported us through the process. The install team were fantastic - professional, hard working, friendly and tidy, checking in with us each day to ensure we were happy with what had been done and that we knew what was to be done next. We even took the opportunity to relocate some of the new radiators to better locations in rooms - nothing too much trouble for the Gensource team. If you're considering any renewable solutions for your home then you really need to speak to Gensource as I'm sure you'll be as impressed as we have been with this local up and coming company. (I've even had them install an EV charger for me as well).

We used Gensource for our solar installation at the David Livingstone Centre and I cannot recommend this company highly enough. They worked with us every step of the way and totally understood our needs and requirements - working with a small independent charity is not always straightforward! Thank you very much to all the team - every person who attended us site was courteous and polite and tried their very best to minimise the noise during cafe opening hours. We could not ask for a better experience from beginning to end. Thank you!

Gensource are a very professional solar company! Others seemed pushy and impatient. Robert really takes the time to explain the system, how it works and what to reasonably expect in terms of performance. Competitive on pricing too! Highly recommend :)

I would like to thank Josh for being so helpful, knowledgeable and honest. As well as needing a replacement inverter I was thinking about battery storage and of the three companies that I approached, GenSource was the only one who took the time to check what our solar output was and whether it was worth having one, which it wasn't. The inverter replacement was done in no time, arrived when they said they would and work was done quickly and cleanly.
