Recently had Solaredge panels and inverter fitted at my property. Had a 4.4kWp fitted distributed over the roof of my bungalow and garage. Had four different companies quote but decided on Amelio. Installation carried out and everything working well and initially gave The company 5 stars BUT not at all happy now. We are now plagued by pigeons trying to nest under panels which are split between our bungalow roof and garage roof. Have since learnt this is a common problem despite Richard Jones telling me it isn’t! Now, looking at other installations, most panels are protected by mesh to stop the birds getting underneath. I contacted Richard Jones three times on 25th April voicing my concerns, informing him my 82 year old partner was having to go up ladders, on a busy road, raking out the start of bird nests. My feelings were, this is a common problem and he should have informed us of this and offered to install mesh at the time of installation. He said he would get back to me with a price but 11 days later nothing. It didn’t take him long to quote me for the installation of the panels. Very disappointed with Richard, thought he was better than this. Have now organised a pest control company to deal with a problem which I shouldn’t have if Amelia had discussed this with me at time of quoting for job. SO BE WARNED, IF YOU HAVE SOLAR PANELS FITTED, ENSURE YOU GET THE APPROPRIATE MESH FITTED SO YOU ARE NOT PLAGUED WITH PIGEONS, NESTING, DAMAGING THE WIRING AND POOING EVERYWHERE. UPDATE:- article published in Daily Mail today, 12th August. Headlined “Town hall in a flap as pigeons cost it £360000”. After installing solar panels on thousands of homes, Nottingham Council received more than 300 complaints from its tenants about birds nesting under the panels. As well as being a noise nuisance, the pigeons caused leaking roofs and blocked the gutters, while their droppings are considered hazardous to human health. The dung can also reduce the amount of sunlight captured by the panels.

I wanted a ground mounted array on a Cornish Rockers framework, but could only find 2 companies that would even quote despite it being a simpler installation. (The Cornish Rocker company fit the mountings and panels themselves!) Amelio were easily the most convincing option. Having not used this form of mounting before, Amelio saw it as challenge rather than an issue, they researched, advised and fitted the array successfully, with good after-service so far. You may wish to consider a Cornish Rocker system if appropriate, but you should consider Amelio if you require a domestic pv system

When we decided to have solar panels fitted a friend who has them recommended Amelio. We used them and would also recommend them highly. Totally professional, efficient and friendly from start to finish - with no "hard sell" from Graham.

A thoroughly professional job executed with a minimum of fuss and no mess. Scaffolding put up quickly and efficiently and the solar panel all installed within a day, complete with cables within the roof void, and any external trunking. The electrics were installed in a day and half and fully tested and functioning within a day an half for large battery bank and 16 panels. The installers took the time to take me though the App basics with the office team following up the next day to help us get online with an Optimal tariff and to permit night time charge and peak time selling of spare capacity. A great experience buying from them across the board - all the installers were friendly and organised and left the place spotless afterwards. Klaudia in the office managed everything very well - a big thanks to her preparation work - and to Graham for convincing me of the best indoors solution.

We are very pleased with our solar panel installation from Amelio. From the initial meeting, when our options were discussed without sales pressure, to the final installation we were kept informed of progress. Options were discussed and we were fully involved in any solutions chosen, not always the easiest option. The installers were courteous at all times and caused no disruption to our property leaving it clean and tidy after the installation. Over the last 3 years Amelio has installed solar panels for us and now batteries all at a competitive price. The service was outstanding both times, that's why we went back to them for batteries. Installation was quick no problems the two young guys very polite and efficient, totally knew what they were doing and great to talk to about Installation. This company isn't the cheapest but its worth spending a few more £££ but not by much. My son had his Solar panels installed by amelio solar energy and recommended them.Klaudia is the project manager and keeps you informed about what is going to happen and when. She is always on hand for any questions you may have. This company use scaffold so their workers are able to install the Solar panels safely. I was offered 2 different systems to choose from. The electrician was very knowledgeable and told me all about the system I had chosen and how to use the app. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who wants a great product and great customer service.

From the outset it was a friendly and pleasant experience. From the initial survey to the final installation of the batteries it all went very smoothly. It has all worked as they said it would. Well done Amelio.

Amelio installed a PV system at our property in June including Eddi HW heating controller, price was competitive but moreover the all round service was excellent from survey to communications and the install team were tidy, polite and helpful. Everything left as the found it and happy to have a walk round on scaffold to talk about system and install. Highly recommended and no issues in 3.5 months of operation other than slashing my electricity and hot water bills.

Amelio Solar Energy have provided great workmanship and great products. We are really pleased with the SolarEdge inverter - we can see in real time how much electricity we are producing, using and exporting. We can also check how each individual solar panel is performing. The solar panels look very sleek and are unobtrusive with an all black finish. We were looking for an additional small pv installation and a battery solution to store the excess anergy from our existing 3kw array. Being in receipt of FITS payments we knew we would not be able to receive any more export payments. The idea was to increase our own pv production and via the battery use more of that stored production. We asked for 4 quotes from local companies and sad to say two were really poor. One didn't answer for over a week and then tried to put us off going elsewhere, the other sent a quote lacking in detail and with incorrect information.On the other hand two were really good. Richard from Amelio Solar Energy was a joy to work with. From his prompt telephone response to our initial enquiry, his visit and subsequent email conversations he showed tremendous patience and adaptability. He answered all of our questions (and there were a lot) promptly and actively sought solutions to our concerns. For example he rang the battery supplier as we were concerned about the charger warranty only being 5 years and was able through payment of a relatively small sum get that extended to 10 years. In the end it came down to two quotes for a Tesla Powerwall system, both, when the additional PV array were taken into account of the same quality, the price was similar also. We didn't take Richard up on his quote for two reasons, One, the other supplier was based a lot closer to us so in the unlikely event of any issues would be more likely to get to us quickly and two, the preferred supplier would be able to install the system a little earlier than Amelio. We feel it important however to let anyone looking to take steps into solar energy, batteries and other generation types know that they will get a really transparent, fair and good value service from Richard and Amelio Solar Energy.

Richard Jones was recommended to us by a trusted friend who is up-to-speed with technology and environmentally friendly domestic installations. Following on from an unhappy experience with a "window salesman" who had unsuccessfully tried to "sell" us panels without expertise or real passion, we approached Richard in the hope of finding a future-proofing and eco addition to our home energy supplies. Richard is knowledgeable, articulate, passionate about his eco credentials and generally all-round personable and reliable. We were quickly won over! It wasn't an easy installation of solar panels as we have triangular roof spaces with velux windows and an imperfect orientation. However, Richard got around all the issues to provide us with sufficient panels and suitably placed inverters to make a real difference to our energy consumption and bills. I was convinced it would take us 15-20 years to recoup the investment, but Richard's efficient approach to installation and official paperwork meant that the fit (and the FIT!) have been amortised in only eight years. For us, it's a win-win situation! When I bump into Richard around and about the local area, he is always helpful and polite, wanting to know how everything is going and updating us on the progress he is making in helping to sustain the local environment, without ever trying to sell us a new product. We have since recommended his work to friends and would happily do so again, we will have no hesitation in using his services again for any energy needs. But as for our panels - we haven't had to invite him back, because there haven't been any issues or problems which needed sorting, not a bad track record for 8 years! Amelio Energy installed Solar Panels for my home a couple of years ago, after the high tariff rate had ended, as I still wanted the advantages of having Solar PV on my home in Lincoln, Lincolnshire. I had previously had Solar Panels fitted to my home in Woodhall Spa and so understood the advantages of high quality LG Solar Panels and Solaredge inverter. The installation was made straightforward by this local specialist team and I am pleased with the outcome of the work by Amelio Energy.

The PV panel installation was a breeze, no drama and excellent ongoing support from Richard and his team. Full visibility of energy generation through the app. All I have to worry about is how to spend the feed-in tariff. Would highly recommend.

Amelio Energy installed solar panels on my cottage in the Yorkshire Dales. It was a complex job as we have large stone slabs on the roof. They installed an in-roof system and we are delighted with it and the software that enables us to monitor the performance of each Panel.

Would thoroughly recommend Amelio Energy to anyone considering a home solar installation. I contacted Richard Jones at Amelio for a quote for our home in the Bailgate area of Lincoln. He gave us (my wife and I) multiple quotes based on our budget with various manufacturers of panels. Each quote with showed us the percentage return on our investment which made it easier for us to see the best option for us. We also opted for a battery which has proved very useful for us as we are at work during the day when the solar generated power would be available, allowing us to use our solar energy in the evening. He helped us fill out all the paperwork necessary for our FIT application. He also showed us an app that maps your production which I check up on all the time. Overall we found Amelio Energy very professional, efficient and honest. The installation was very quick from start to finish taking only a few days. Since the installation Richard has been very helpful answering any questions post installation.
