Back in the summer I called David at Old Court Electrical with a problem (I've used them before to wire up a new wet room - all good). This time a main circuit kept tripping but I couldn't figure out why. Obviously it was quite urgent as almost the whole ground floor was without power. David came round as soon as he could and within a few minutes he was able to narrow it down to a faulty macerator. He also advised having the whole system surveyed and certified as the old wiring was being overloaded. Long story short, in mid September David and three of his excellent young 'sparks' came for five days solid and replaced lots of cabling, sockets, other devices. They also carried out several improvements which I had meant to do ages ago but never got round to😒 and the main distribution board was replaced with a much larger one. The work was done with great care and despatch. They didn't waste any time or turn off any power without warning us. We did keep them supplied with biscuits and coffee, though! It was a significant outlay (not the biscuits) but when you consider the value of the property, it would have been foolish to put off the inevitable need to bring the electrics up to date. Old Court Electrical is a totally reliable and competent firm. Anyone living in a house where the wiring dates from the 1980s or earlier would do well to consider getting them to do a survey, especially if your circuits keep tripping. Mine were from the Seventies and they were tripping like a superannuated hippie!

Old Court Electrical recently installed a consumer unit in my detached garage. Firstly, David is exactly what you want in a local tradesman. He was prompt, polite and even shared a love for motorcycles (which straightaway won me over!). He got to me as soon as he could to quote up the work and was happy to give me an on the spot estimate as I really didn't know what to expect. Very affordable for the work required and managed to squeeze me in not 2 days after visiting thanks to a cancellation of another job. Didn't even bother looking elsewhere, what a service! One of his lads, Robin, who came down for the install was exceptional. Another friendly and polite gent who had the job done by mid afternoon all the while with a smile on his face. Install came with all the legal paperwork as well in a professional dossier. For spotting his van one day at the side of the road in Deeping to giving him a call just to enquire and then having my fusebox installed all within a week is absolutely phenomenal, I could not recommend David & Old Court Electrical more.
