Northern Renewables have been fantastic from start to finish.

I initially contacted Northern Renewables for a quote for a solar panel and battery installation, but before going ahead I asked for some advice about a room in our newly purchased house that was noticeably colder than the rest of the property. They arranged for Jamie to visit and carry out a thermal imaging survey. He quickly identified the issue and gave practical, sensible advice on how to resolve it without major work or expense. After a quick trip to a well-known DIY store and fitting a radiator around four times the size, the room now heats perfectly. Without that expert guidance I could easily have wasted a lot of money chasing the wrong solution. That experience made choosing Northern Renewables for the solar installation an easy decision. Having a knowledgeable, trustworthy local firm mattered to me, and they delivered throughout the whole process. The installation itself went very smoothly — Tracey and Rachel kept me well informed with scheduling and updates, scaffolding arrived the day before, the system was installed within a day and a half, and Dan took the time to explain everything clearly once it was up and running. The scaffolding was removed promptly afterwards — the whole process felt efficient and well organised. After running the system for a month (Jan-Feb), it’s clear the specification was spot-on for our usage. The battery capacity feels very well balanced — not oversized and wasteful, but large enough to cover almost everything we use day-to-day. It only really runs down in exceptional circumstances, such as heavy cooking on a poor solar day, and even then we’ve easily adapted by shifting things like washing or dishwashing to the day before or after. It’s genuinely changed how we think about and manage our electricity use. Overall, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Northern Renewables — knowledgeable, responsive, and professional throughout.

All work was done on time, cleanly, safely and in budget; the installation crew were great to deal with. There have been no operational issues. Good Communications and competent workforce

Sorted out a fault on my Mixergy HW tank, competent workforce who knew what they were doing. Dealt with manufacturer to source required part. Great communications and arrived promptly as scheduled. Would definitely recommend and will use again.

Straight forward from the start

Straight forward from the start, really happy with the entire process. From filling the quote out to visiting their showroom, the staff where extremely knowledgeable and helpful, gave me all the information I needed and showed me exactly how much electricity we would be generating each year, even broke it down into specific months. The engineers came out to install it, all very polite, left no mess behind, and they were in and out faster than I expected. Couldn't recommened Northern Renewable Center enough.

Solar and battery install

I recently had a solar and battery system installed, and I couldn't be happier with the all the work they done. The team were incredibly professional from start to finish. They kept me updated and I was always in the loop regarding progress and any minor updates which made the whole experience stress-free. Once the installation was complete, the team took the time to show me how everything works. They answered all of my questions and I felt completely comfortable and confident in managing my new system. I highly recommend them for anyone considering solar or any other renewable energy as they have an amazing centre to visit right on the seafront in Redcar which was extremely helpful as I didn’t know anything about solar.

They installed solar panels, a home battery, an air source heat pump, and an EV charge point at my property. The team showed exceptional care and dedication throughout the process. I’m very pleased with the outcome and would highly recommend them.

This place on the sea front has a really nice cafe inside which serves a selection of teas, coffees, cold drinks and pastries plus sweet and savoury snacks. The coffee was very good and I am told the sausage sandwiches are superb, as well as being very reasonably priced The only downside is it’s quite small however if it’s a nice day there is seating outside Definitely worth a visit!!

This is a company that takes real pride in it's work and everyone we met, both office staff and the installers were careful, prompt, tidy, friendly and competent. The job turned out to be bigger than first anticipated but they dealt with this with grace and good humour. We feel like we have gained friends.

Top Renewable Provider

I had been looking for ages for an installer who could do everything I wanted in one integrated installation, Solar, battery storage, hot water heating storage battery and infra red FAR panels, that when complete, could get me as close as possible to an overall net zero and able me to get rid of my gas supply in my home. Northern Renewables proved to be the ideal provider, knowledgeable, keen to help and rise to the challenge of a tough installation. Boy did they succeed. An excellent job well done, happy to recommend.

Knowledgeable and thoroughly professional

I was very impressed by the level of care that was taken by the team that fitted our new inverters and battery storage. We already had PV panels and were 10 years into a feed in tariff (FIT) which we didn't want to compromise with a new storage installation. The Northern Renewable electrician went to great lengths to ensure that the installation was FIT compliant and even changed some key components on the day of the installation. All of the required documentation was provided on completion and our FIT status has been retained.

Passive house solar installation.

We live an all electric passive house and the team from the Centre completed the installation of 20 solar panels and an 18kWh battery system a week ago. Since then in overcast, miserable conditions for May we have been off grid, generating and storing the 20+ kWhs a day we need to power up the house and its systems. It took some time to research and contact a number of firms before we came across the showroom on Redcar promenade where the latest renewable technologies were on show and knowledgeable, friendly staff were available to go through options and subsequently visit our site and design a range of alternative systems to meet our needs. Site visits from a highly experienced engineer are a must and to rely on Google Earth photos is not enough. The firm handled the application for a G99 certificate successfully and their contracted scaffolders and subsequently the installation team were efficient, explained everything they were doing and made the whole exercise enjoyable and informative for my wife and I. They were particularly careful to check that cable runs were as discrete as possible. Everyone from the office and sales staff to fitters and engineers and apprentice were a pleasure to meet and work with. We would thoroughly recommend the Northern Renewable Centre.
