Bodmin - A Solar Success When we moved to Bodmin from a bungalow with a small solar panel/battery System we knew we would probably put solar panels/battery in at some stage. The good news was the south facing house. The not so good news was the electric Underfloor heating so we would need a bigger system than we expected. We soon found there were not many installers/suppliers in the Southwest And were not very confident of the big national installers. We found a medium sized local installer who were helpful suggested 3 possible brands And agreed the one we chose as the best fit for us. When we got their quotes it was clear that there was only one brand they wanted to sell And it was not our chosen brand. We contacted Ecoflow and the nearest installer they could suggest was New Gen Renewables in Dorset. From first contact to first solar kW they have been excellent. They were prepared to install well outside their area. Their MD Martyn Rainer was really helpful in selecting solar panels understanding export tariffs location of panels and equipment. Within 3 days we had their proposal which we accepted. Jake Sayer took over the running of the project and has been a star through out. - Guided me in preparing the location of the kit -Arranging all the admin and certification - Extensive advice on the use of the monitor for future use In controlling our underfloor heating charging EV And managing our Octopus dual rate tariff. Come the big day the electrician and panel riggers arrived When expected after a 2 + hour journey the careful planning and the design of the ocean power system made for a really smooth installation. The team were friendly and clearly very competent and enjoyed their work. The System has been running for 2 weeks now and is working really well We have been about 80% independent with some battery charging and EV charging on the night tariff. Looking forward to seeing the next bill from Octopus. All in all hats off to New Gen Renewables

I saw excellent reviews and wanted to use a local company. I was definitely not disappointed. From the start of the quote process right through to the final day of installation. I was impressed by every level of the staff at New Gen. they were not only professional but very friendly and helpful, even helping me work out Apps and the best electric company to deal with. All in all a very pleasant experience. I highly recommend them.

Through no fault of their own we did not buy a solar system from New-Gen Renewables. However we must say that Martyn impressed us with his professionalism care dedication and hard work to design a system for us at a very competitive price. I had a 3.5kw solar installation in February 2025, we are extremely satisfied with the system that was recommended by New Gen. The installation was completed within a day, the team were professional and courteous when they came round to fit the job. My neighbour saw the work that I’ve had done and has gone and done it too.
