A Greener Alternative - NIBI GSHP replacement

A Greener Alternative have serviced & maintained our original NIBI (2007) GSHP for the last 7 years So we contacted them as soon as it 'self destructed' on new years eve. We discussed the issue & with their experience decided to uprate & install a new NIBI. Over a further 3 weeks they fitted us in, stripped out the old one, installed the new one, re-connected the installed elements, tested & handed it over. Warm again, no drama. A pleasure to have on site, thank you 'A Greener Alternative'!

I used A Greener Alternative Ltd to upgrade my heating system from a gas boiler to Air Source Heat Pump, partially funded by the £7.5K government grant. The work was what I would consider to be extensive, as the heating system was relocated from an upstairs boiler cupboard to under the stairs, with upgrades to the plumbing & electrics, including a new consumer unit. I chose this company due to their great reviews & excellent customer service on the phone when I initiated contact. Every person I spoke to was professional, knowledgeable & just really nice. Huge thanks to Khalid, Ellie, Simon & Oli, who looked after me from start to finish. The whole upgrade was done in just over a week, ready for the rest of the house renovation to continue & the work was immaculate. My builder also commented on how nice the installers were. Really chuffed. Thanks for making this part of the renovation super easy & stress-free!

They worked diligently to get my complicated underfloor heating system in order. Whenever I've had the odd issue Simon responds immediately and with a positive solution. When we moved to our new property, A Greener Alternative completely renovated our upstairs bathroom, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. Simon visited us initially and offered some excellent design ideas that we hadn’t even considered, which made a real difference to the final result. From start to finish, the whole process was seamless. The team were extremely professional, always arrived on time, worked non-stop, and kept everything impressively tidy throughout. They even arranged the removal of all debris and rubbish, so we didn’t have to organise a thing. We were so delighted with the outcome that we asked A Greener Alternative to return and upgrade all of our old, dated radiators. Once again, the work was carried out with minimal disruption, and we were thrilled with the results. We are now considering installing a heat pump using the Government Grant and will have no hesitation in contacting Simon and his team again. We would wholeheartedly recommend A Greener Alternative to anyone.

A Greener Alternative installed our heat pump at the end of the Summer and we could not be happier. The installation process was seamless and everything was communicated well to us beforehand. We are now completely gas free and our first winter with the heat pump has been perfect. I would highly recommend A Greener Alternative to anyone thinking of getting a heat pump.

I strongly recommend A Greener Alternative Ltd, that provided me with an Outstanding service in fixing my Air Source system, which stopped working during the recent cold period leaving me without any hot water / central heating. Upon reporting the fault an engineer attended my home within 6 hours and promptly diagnosed the fault, requiring a new flow control part (provided by Samsung). The Service Manager, Andrea, made urgent arrangements for the part to be delivered to my home and for the engineer to be available to fit the part and recommission the system. She kept me informed at every stage and demonstrated real care and went 'the extra mile' to ensure everything was done with urgency (even phoning me when not in the office to keep me updated). l was invoiced a fair sum for the services provided. I would not hesitate to recommend this company who offer outstanding customer services and whose engineers have a very good grasp of this complicated technology that offers 'green solutions'. Our (10 year old) Dimplex air source heat pump stopped working on 4th November. It had been serviced by PDP for many years but they decommissioned the pump and left us without heat. After chasing them several times for quotes to replace the system, we started looking around for an alternative solution and came across A Greener Alternative. Simon and the whole team at AGA have been brilliant. They turned up when they said they would, installed a completely new system and walked us through all the controls. We’s reached a point where we were very cold and fed up but were now warm and cosy. The new NIBE system is a more powerful system because we are planning a significant extension next year however the NIBE ASHP is slightly smaller than the old Dimplex unit and, so far, it is much quieter. I fully recommend considering an ASHP despite the old unit failing on us and I would definitely recommend A Greener Alternative as the first choice of heating engineers if you are thinking about installing such a system.

Used A Greener Alternative again this year for our ASHP, for service + some valve and filter replacements. Easy to work with them to set up the visits, great engineer for the work done (Lee), and sensible pricing. I can wholeheartedly recommend this company. We will be using them again.

A Greener Alternative have been excellent, helping to solve problems and make sure my air source heat pump heating system is working smoothly. They offered good advice to help with efficiency and running costs. All the staff are friendly and helpful and the engineers are considerate and take time to answer my questions and make sure I understand.

We have worked with Simon on two renewable projects over the past 15 years and he has proved himself to be the right choice on both occasions. He combines first class basic plumbing skills with an up to date knowledge of modern heating systems - in our case a biomass boiler and an ASHP. His office back up is efficient and very approachable. His technicians attend courses regularly to ensure they have an up to date understanding of what is a rapidly changing market place. Installation of an Air Source Heat Pump and Underfloor Heating System by A Greener Alternative in Horsmonden, Kent. We decided to wait for a few months after installation before posting this review, as we wanted to see how efficiently the system worked for us before passing judgement. Sam was our main point of contact and was helpful throughout the whole design/build process. We had looked at about 6-8 other companies, but Sam seemed the most reliable and the most professional. We had the Mitsubishi Ecodan 6W unit installed. Throughout the design stage Sam was very helpful and offered good advice. Importantly, he would always respond promptly to any questions I might have. The installation was very quick and very professional. We did have an issue with a couple of rooms where the temperature went substantially above the preset levels, but these were easily rectified by a visiting engineer. All of the workmanship was of a very high level. The house is now very warm and cosy - we do have a wood-burning stove, but we only use it for atmosphere, it is certainly not required to heat the house! When choosing to go for an air source heat pump one of our main concerns was that we would not get enough hot water and that the temperature of the water would not be high enough. There was absolutely no need to worry on that score. We are very happy with the work that Sam and his team at A Greener Alternative have done for us and would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them. First class!

Really pleased with the installation of our new heat pump. Many thanks to all those we met from A Greener Alternative. The weather was appalling during the install period, but the guys carried on cheerfully throughout it all and have done a great job for us. It's early days, but the system is working very well and it is nice to be warm again!

A Greener Alternative planned, installed and commissioned an Air Heat Source Pump to replace an oil boiler at our house. They were excellent in terms of the professional service, technical skill and communication as well as implementation and commissioning of the pump. All staff were approachable and responsive in all the dealings I had with them. I would strongly recommend them as a business.
