We read reviews of quite a few companies before settling on Spectra. Many of them were 5 star and I've no reason to think they wouldn't have also been excellent so choosing was hard, but in the end we went with the one our neighbour had used. Have to say we can't fault them - the end to end process was handled really well. Communication has been excellent and the installation and follow up support has been everything we could have asked for. So I'd have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone struggling to choose. The price was also very competitive btw. Thanks guys

Shopped around for solar panel and battery installation. Decided on Spectra due to being a Which approved trader and using there own installation team. The price was not far off the cheapest as well. Also no pressure selling. Roofing lads Brett and Brook arrived just after 8am and the electrician Liam about 9 who went through everything with me. The whole team were a credit to the company. Everything was left clean and tidy after installation and a full explanation of how the system app worked. Post and pre install comms from Kurt was and is still excellent. No issues to report. All documents sent through straight after payment. Really pleased with whole process. 14 panels Hanchu battery and invertor. All neat and tidy.

To save you reading the rest - I'll sum it up in one word - Impressive! From inital contact there's no hard sell, no pressure, but plenty of advice. Having contemplated solar for a few months, I'd done plenty of research. Being local to their offices, the wife and I arranged to pop in to their showroom. Again no pressure, no hard sell, but very knowledgeable, backing up I'd gleaned from my research. Mike turned up to conduct the survey as arranged, I wanted to be clear on what to expect and if there were any issues, and Mike made suggestions on how to install the equipment in the garage without damaging the pre-fab concrete. We agreed on the trench location between the house and garage to prevent damage to the new driveway - Important as the scaffolders errected their scaffold right over the area, luckily I was at home when they came to errect it and they managed to position the two legs so not to be in the way. Installation day, the lads rocked up just after 8am on a frosty January morning, Tea, Coffee & biscuits were welcomed by them, they simply just got on with it. I was sceptical they'd get it done in the day, but the roofing team were done by mid afternoon, leaving the electricians to connect and commission the system. That was all done around 5pm. The installation in the garage with Uni-Strut is tidy, they routed the DC cables through the soffit, from the loft space - I was expecting a hole through the wall. The internal consumer unit is tidy, and there's been no issues since the install. I can't wait for the sunnier weather, as despite the rain & fog recently the system's already impressed me with it's generation quite offten the base load is solely from PV.

Planning, installation and after sales support exceptional.

We got installation July 2025. Fromt the start they approachable, friendly and professional. During the planning phase i had several questions which were answered quickly and professionally. I also made several tweaks to my installation each time the changes were done quickly anda new plan created. The installation went very smoothly. All done in one day leaving no mess. After sales was also exceptional. I had a little issue with the setup. I got a recently released gateway which seemed to cause high power draw. Spectra were right on it working with Hanchu, the manufacturer, and the issue was discovered and sorted remotely in a couple of days. Overall i cant find fault with the whole process. Even nitpicking I cant think of anything.

Fantastic job installing our batteries. Completed in a day with no fuss, mess or drama. Couldn’t be happier with the team or their work - even my wife was impressed !

I highly recommend this company. Too often we are let down by merchants making appointments and not appearing. Spectra fulfilled all of their commitments leading to our installation recently. The weather was awful on the due day but fitters arrived on time followed by electricians. All were courteous, respectful and helpful. As promised the installation was completed in one day - not easy on a dark wet day in December - and full instructions were given to download the ubiquitous 'App'. The fitters finally departed in the dark having cleaned up behind themselves. I am delighted with the work which is generating already.

Superb and knowledgeable - Spectra guide you through the process from design to installation, answer all questions and form a genuine partnership. Installation was textbook and I was kept fully informed throughout every step in the project. Very pleased with the results and my investment is already making savings that are contributing towards playback, plus i'm doing my bit for the environment for the next 30 years. My install is a domestic 17 panel solar with battery storage plus inverter.

Very impressed with Spectra Solar from initial contact through to installation today. There was no pressure whatsoever from a ‘sales’ perspective; everything they said would be done has been and the job is very neat and tidy. The staff right through from the initial enquiry with the office, the subsequent survey and the installation couldn’t have been more accommodating.The initial enquiry produced a quote (and a revised quote when we upgraded the inverter) no pushy sales follow ups. Both the roofing team and the electricians today were polite, efficient and an absolute credit to the company. We highly recommend them; if you are thinking of solar panels/battery systems you won’t go wrong with Spectra. It was an absolute pleasure to have the team working here today 👌

Quality solar installation

Comprehensive quote provided, lots of questions answered by the company. no pressure selling just providing guidance. Once agreed everything fitted as agreed, team turned up fitted system, fitters explained how to use app and checked everything was ok and I was happy with the install which is very tidy, prior to leaving. I had lots of quotes and trying to pick the right company, 4 weeks in and very happy so far. Certainly wouldn’t hesitate to recommend based on my experience.

Right from the start of the process I have had absolute confidence in the team at Spectra, no hard sell, honest opinions and a level of trust that is unusual these days. There were opportunities when they could have sold me additional equipment, however, Jonathan suggested that it would be better to wait and see before investing in additional battery storage which we may not need. The team who did the installation were fantastic, from the scaffolders to the roofing team and electrical engineers, all were professional and showed a genuine pride in the work that they were carrying out. Once commissioned the team were quick to react to any minor issues which presented, to the extent that when I phoned they told me what the issue was before I had even mentioned it! They had been monitoring the system and were already on with the solution. So far the system has been up and running for just over a week and is already surpassing the estimate for the amount that would be generated, we have had at least three days where our energy needs have been 98% covered by the solar and battery storage.

Contacted Spectra when getting quotes for a solar install. Spectra had been recommended to me and were fairly local too. Had an initial telephone call with the office and was provided with a detailed initial quote and information about the company. The initial quote was for a Hanchu system but they also provided quotes for other makes. I was initially unsure exactly what configuration I wanted but Jonathan in the office was really good at talking things through with me and coming back to me with quotes for different configurations. In the end I went with a Fox system with 2 stackable batteries. Jonathan came out twice to measure the roof (due to small garden it was tricky for him to use his tool but he took his time both times he was here) and was unsure if I could fit 12 panels and said it might be 9 but they'd try for 12 on the day. Comms with the company was great, I didn't need to chase them once and they were all really friendly. Scaffolding was arranged and the workmen were friendly and had the scaffolding up in a couple of hours. On install day the roofer said he could fit the 12 panels and they did a really neat and tidy job. The electricians also did a really good job with a nice neat install despite layout of my house being a little awkward. The roofers and electricians were also really friendly and a professional. Overall the install took around 6 hours and all the rubbish was taken away by them. The Fox app was set up for me and the system was checked over and explained to me. My electric bill has gone down from £120 a month to £20 and I've been getting around £100 a month back in SEG payments. The system has performed flawlessly since installed, generating just short of 1mw in May. After the install I had all the relevant paperwork sent over to me in good time. Overall I couldn't be happier with the install and how good Spectra were. I'd happily recommend them to anyone considering getting solar installed.

We’d been thinking of investing in Solar for some time and had numerous conversations with various providers until someone recommended Spectra. Wow, what a difference – absolutely no pressure, thoroughly knowledgeable and patience with all our ‘daft’ questions. From the very first contact, they’ve been incredibly responsive. Mike came out and completed our survey and again was incredibly helpful and professional and explained everything in detail to us. The installation was completed in less than a day and I was very impressed with the team's performance. The guys literally got on with the job, no hassle -incredibly tidy work and ensured everything was explained properly to us, before handing everything over. It’s very rare to come across a company that provides such superb service as Spectra. They really do what it says on the tin and are an absolute pleasure to work with! So I did plenty of shopping around, and this is what I found: -- Some installers talked a good talk, but were also very expensive and pushy. -- Some were competitively priced, but I wouldn’t trust them with my property. -- Spectra came to me as a recommendation, which I’m glad I listened to! Spectra provided decent kit, at a competitive price. But perhaps the most important to me, was that they were 10/10 knowledgeable, trustworthy and professional... With an investment like this, you won’t find a better service! I got a 7kW inverter, 10kW battery, 18 panels and a manual-changeover switch… It’s been performing very well! Before installation: -- Spectra did a great job of helping me choose the best kit to suit my property and budget. -- They were very knowledgeable and patient in answering all of my questions / concerns. During installation: -- The roofers did a great, tidy job of the panel installation and cabling. -- The electricians did a great job of the inverter, battery & changeover installation, keeping it all neat and tidy. Solar energy to our 1960s bungalow

We have had our solar and batteries for about a year now and in the last few months had an air source heat pump fitted by Spectra Solar Ltd. The communication, standard of work and expertise has been fantastic. No question was a silly one and they are very knowledgeable. They were happy to work alongside my husband (ASHP) as he is a plumber. Our energy bills are now non-existent as the export we made during 3/4 of the year paid for energy use during the winter plus we are still in credit going into 2025 season. We pay Octopus £1 a month direct debit as a token gesture. Would we do it again? Would we choose Spectra? That’s a big yes to both - without doubt

Excellent Company .,

Had additional battery capacity installed . The electrician arrived on time and completed the job . Had a minor snag with some plaster , the company came out promptly and resolved the matter . I have no hesitation in recommending Spectra . My system has worked without any issues . I find it very reassuring that if I do have any issues I can make a call and I will get prompt, friendly and helpful advice .

I have just had solar panels and battery fitted by Spectra solar and can say that they have been totally professional, informative and friendly people. The job was completed in a day and has been up and running smoothly. I have contacted the customer service team for some advice and was given exactly what i needed , they were extremely helpful. All in all from the lads on the ground to the office staff and management this is a company I would highly recommend. Thank you.

I decided on Spectra Solar to install my Solar & Battery system because they replied promptly, were punctual, friendly, competitive & relatively local. Everything from answering my questions, providing quotes & alternative options & survey, to getting DNO authorisation for the 5kw inverter & Installation was straightforward. The installers did a great job. I highly recommend Spectra Solar and I will certainly use them again when I add to my system.

Just shy of a week so far with my PV installation from Spectra, and they've been brilliant. From the very start the comms were spot on; leading through the initial quote; then roof survey and ultimately arranging the scaffolding and finally the install. Have no complaints about anything. I'm fairly technical so have been asking lots of questions and Jonathan has been more than happy to oblige by mitherings :-) All the work was done to a very high standard - from the proper roof tile installation (ie notching for the brackets - some cowboys apparantly skip this!), to suggesting a better route to my garage for the PV cables on the day, and touch wood, zero issues to report. Everything is working perfectly. IF I did have an issue, I'm confident they would help me with no hesitation. I did a lot of research, and obtained various quotes prior to choosing Spectra I would absolutely recommend them. Not only extremely competitive price-wise, but the lads who came to do the install clearly took pride in their work.

Spectra Solar have just completed the installation of our new Sun Sync solar system. Spectra team have completed all of the project and carried out a great job from the initial sales meeting and site survey and the installation team worked hard and the quality of the work was excellent. Spectra Solar installed a 9 panel PV…

Spectra Solar installed a 9 panel PV system, inverter, 2x 3.6kw batteries and an iBoost (to help heat the hot water tank) on my house back in February this year. Having had another company install some on my business premises about a year ago, who were let's say, less than perfect, I can absolutely recommend these guys, they were 100% spot on from start to finish! - Their quote was £3k less than an other very well known company, the installation could not have gone more smoothly and the system, now it's up and running, simply could not be better. My total electric consumption since having new smart meters installed in mid March to now (mid May) is just £4.71 (not including standing charge), then I've had about £30 worth of credits for exports to the grid so far... And, my gas usage has gone down dramatically as the PV system is mostly heating my hot water tank. Spectra Solar, sorry it's taken me so long to write this as I promised, but you simply could not have done a better job and the price was well worth it. Thank you! (And I'd just like to add, for those that bemoan the payback time, who cares - it adds value to your house AND you start saving money, and the planet, straight away! 😊)

Unbeatable service and repairs.

First Class and Fast Service. They go the extra mile. Very reasonable price too. We’re highly impressed. The engineer has got to be the best by a mile. He was highly efficient, helpful and knowledgeable. We highly recommend their services.

Excellent from start to finish, I contacted them based on online reviews and they didn't disappoint. After a brief conversation about my property and needs they sent over 2 well documented quotes that contained everything I could possibly want to know and left it with me, there was no pushy sales or constant follow up emails, the ball was completely left with me. After contacting them to agree to go ahead with the installation, a survey was quickly dealt with by one of their agents. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, quickly helped identify where things would be installed and how things on the day would go. The office team dealt with everything very quickly and kept us informed about what was going on and what we needed to do. On the day of the install the team showed up around 8am and where done around 5pm. The were very friendly and professional and I couldn't praise them more. After sales were great, there was a slight issue with the inverter which was dealt with the same day I contacted them. Honestly, I cannot praise this company enough and would recommended them to everyone.

Got my quote from spectre then was left alone to decide. Other quotes kept phoning me and they were all asking for money up front. Spectre said you pay nothing till fully installed and working. Jonathan was wonderful answered all my questions and even now a year later he still has time to help me. Solar panels? Best thing I ever did Spectre? Best and most efficient company who do not employ sales staff

I tend to do a lot of research before I do any project - especially one of this expense so I did spend weeks trawling the internet and watching videos, reading articles and visiting government websites. I had three companies come and visit me all of which were local to me and from Yorkshire (normally a must for me).... then I rang Spectra and the friendly voice on the phone put me through to Jonathan. All I can say is that from that moment I felt that Jonathan placed me in safe hands - he guided me through the process and it became pretty clear that two of the three quotes I'd had were very much focused on getting a quick install and ease for them - not what was right for me. Jonathan and his team did an amazing job - they explained everything, gave me the options I wanted and did exactly as they said they would - on time for the scaffolding, the installation took two days and the monitoring was a breeze. A full set of documents came through one week after the installation was complete and I feel very grateful for having selected Spectra rather than some of my friends who had selected companies not as honest (and some not in business anymore). I had 16 solar panels installed on a slate roof, with bird and vermin protection, in the loft was an inventor by Lux and 3 x 3.2kw batteries then an external fuse box in white to match the electricity and gas boxes - perfect! The icing on the cake was the tree certificate I received today which was a really nice gesture to show how much they care for the customer and the environment. Highly recommended and I will be using them again when I change to an electric vehicle and to add more batteries at a later stage!

We had a replacement inverter and…

We had a replacement inverter and consumer unit from spectra solar following a report they did for us. They actually turned up early and got the job done. I can’t find any fault with them so thank you guys.

We must have spoken to 10+ companies to install our solar/battery solution. It was much harder than we thought, even though we had a system installed at a previous house so had a rough idea what we wanted. Most companies were quite sales based and you couldn't always get the answers you wanted, or you got an answer and you weren't convinced. Then we came across Spectra - I hadn't initially seen them as they weren't in our immediate area. From first contact with Spectra, Jonathan was on the phone, with technical detail, for as long as you needed, giving ideas and suggestions. There was no hard sell or sales pitch, just advice - so refreshing - and great value too. And they really knew what they were talking about. We had 5.88kW of panels installed alongside 19.2Kwh of battery storage, plus an Eddi to take some excess power to the hot tank. They turned up when they said they would, Jordan & team didn't stop all day, did a really tidy job and cleaned up after themselves. The system is outperforming the guidance output, and is giving us lots of free electricity and hot water. Since it was put in 6 days ago, we've spent about 25p on actual electric and not had to heat the hot tank with the gas boiler at all. The Lux app & web portal monitoring are excellent. Spectra are also really responsive and helpful for anything you need - a great company and would not hesitate to recommend!

7kw Solar Panels afer 1 year

I've had my 7kw, 18 panel solar installation with a 4.8kw battery and solar iboost for my hot water tank for a year now. Firstly, I chose Spectra Solar as they were so helpful and got back to me with any queries or questions I had. Their pricing was excellent in comparison to others with no pressure to sign up at all as they aren't sales people, just very helpful. My bills for both gas and electricity in 2021/22 were about £1,400 before the panels were installed. After the installation and for the year 2022/23 they have been £1,825, bearing in mind I would of paid about £2,800 (estimated, but could easily be higher), especially as the daily charge has gone up so much (about £200 for the year) as well as the cost of the electricity and gas. I include gas as the iboost helps to heat my hot water tank instead of the gas boiler, so I save on some gas. I will be getting a cheque back from what I've exported of £400 from Eon as they are now paying 16.5 pence per Kw/H. Therefore, I calculate I've saved about £1,375 in the first year, which I'm very happy with. I would highly recommend Spectra Solar.

Exceptionnel customer service.

Had a new inverter fitted by this company which then started to trip the rcd on several occasions and cut off the electric to the garage. Despite this being an electrical fault and not an issue caused by the inverter Mike was determined to identify the problem so that the new inverter was fit for purpose. His dedication and professionalism is a credit to himself and the company and deserves far more than my extended gratitude. A company highly recommended for a professional, quality service with a fierce dedication to customer satisfaction.

Really impressed with Spectra

Really impressed with Spectra. Knowledgeable and helpful where needed. Competitively priced and workmanship was good. They were fast at sorting out the documentation and helped when I asked for support when my Smart meters were fitted post install. I would recommend to anyone.

Getting solar and batteries installed is a big, expensive decision, so not one to be taken lightly. After weeks of research and contacting every company that would service our area, I just got a good feeling about Spectra. They were the only company that sounded like they actually knew what they were talking about and it wasn't just a salesperson who had been on a training course. I was able to ask very technical questions and get reliable answers. From first contact all the way through to installation, communication was excellent. The install day went very well. They arrived bang on time and got straight on with it. Very friendly crew who were very professional and had great attention to detail. Within a day the whole system was up and running. Even though I did have a fault with my inverter 1 week later (just a dodgy unit..which I've been told is only 1 of 3 out of the hundreds they have installed), within 48 hours of me contacting them (on the weekend) I had a brand new inverter installed within 30 minutes. No quibble, no fuss. I really cannot rate these guys high enough. Do not go with a big national company. You are just another number to them. Go with Spectra Solar and you will not be disappointed as they actually career about their customers. Thanks very much guys.

I contacted a number of companies and this one stood out. Great service from quote to install. Brilliant team of people. Today I had my 6 x 405W + 4.8KW battery installed. Great value for money as well.
