Really impressed with GB Solar

Really impressed with GB Solar. I had 9 solar panels, a battery and an EV charger installed. The electricians and roofers were really professional and had completed the work in two days. It is a really well run business who have a great eye for detail and discuss with you as to where you want the installation going. The customer service is fantastic and the team get back to you with queries promptly and the sales team aren’t pushy like a lot of other solar companies I had received quotes from. I can’t recommend this company enough.

GB Solar for Tesla power wall 3 and Zappi

I have recently had GB Solar for the installation of a Tesla solar and battery storage system. Along with a Zappi car charger. All this has been organised by Steve Brown who from start to finish has been excellent to deal with. There has been NO hard sell or pressure in any way. Steve made multiple visits suggesting different ideas to me make the most out of the system. Ultimately having more Panels on the main roof which made it cost effective. On every visit Steve was on time and I feel he had my best interests at heart. We had an issue with the scaffolding company. Two bars were banging together in the wind. One phone call to Steve and a guy came out and sorted it very quickly. The guys who fitted the system were polite and friendly, passing on their knowledge and it was never to much trouble to ask a question or two or three etc. They worked through pretty atrocious weather without a complaint. I am now considering a third additional Tesla battery ( it’s the most you can have) even though Steve doesn’t think it necessary. I also feel that there is backup if you have questions or concerns after everything has been fitted. Now this is up and working I am updating my heating system and are using Warm GB to have an air source heat pump fitted. To be continued.

Brilliant customer service(Josh) Bought the solar + battery 3 years ago had a problem recently and josh and team fixed it with immediate response with plan of action and a courtesy call when all resolved,outstanding highly recomended company.

Solar Panels and Batteries Installation

From start to finish, we received nothing but the very best level of service from GB Solar. This was underpinned by excellent knowledge of the different systems available to us - and clearly outstanding expertise. We were delighted with the design process - and ended up with far more panels in the space we had available than expected. The suggested positions for placing the 2 x batteries also reflected great experience and expertise. The fitting process was smooth and swift. As was the final handover and full explanation on how the new system would work. My wife and I are and I are absolutely delighted with the installation.

Fitted us a home car charger. Really impressed at how tidy and efficient they were. They also showed us how to set it up so it charges at the cheapest time of day and how to care for it. My friends have also used these guys and have had a great experience with them. A good local business, staffed by all round top people.

Most people rush to write a review as soon as their solar system is installed, but I wanted to wait and give a realistic, long-term assessment. When we decided to explore having a solar and battery system fitted, we spoke with around eight different companies. Some only offered online quotes, others sent sales reps — but only GB Solar sent an actual installer. The difference in knowledge, confidence, and genuine advice was like night and day. While most quotes proposed between 14 and 16 panels, GB Solar immediately thought outside the box and designed a system with 25 panels and a nearly 10kW battery. From that point on, everything ran smoothly. We were kept fully updated with delivery and fitting dates, and the installation itself was completed in just a day and a half. The performance has blown us away! We live in a four-bedroom detached house and now pay only £25 a month for gas and electric. After our first summer, we were £700 in credit, which comfortably carried us through the winter — and as soon as the days got longer, we started building credit again. Simply awesome! I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to recommend GB Solar to anyone considering a solar investment. In fact, I already have — and both friends who took my advice are equally thrilled with their systems and the service. He introduced GB Solar, their ethos and what they were able to provide. I immediately felt at ease with his approach, listening to my questions, suggesting possible solutions and providing me with a quote within a couple of hours. He left it with me and to call should I have any questions. Having decided to go with GB Solar Steve was happy to prepare several designs until we’d reached the right fit for our circumstances, including late changes and the addition of panels on the north facing part of our roof and an Eddi. Once agreed in principal, Steve came over to survey our property. After more questions he arranged for Dan to come over and agree where the panels could be positioned. This resulted in some layout changes, but I was very happy with the outcome. When Sam, George and Dave arrived on day one of the installation they walked me through the plans, confirming where I’d like the various components locating and making suggestions to improve the overall aesthetics. They really worked well as a team, extremely professional and the pride they take in their work is a credit to them and GB Solar. On completion Sam took me through the Powerwall and myenergi apps. I have since been in contact with Josh who has taken time to go through the finer points of the Powerwall app. He recommended one of Octopus’ Smart tariffs and guided me through how to set it up. I doubt this will be the last time I’ll be in touch with Josh, but know that support is always on hand, and encouraged. The system has not been in a week, it has worked flawlessly, surprising me with the amount of energy produced so far. I look forward to dealing with the team at GB Solar in the future. We had an EV charger fitted by Dan and couldn't fault his service. Efficient and tidy and very patient when explaining how to use it. From initial enquiry, liaison with the power company, which was completed by Josh (due to us being a semi detached) to the actual install we couldn't fault them. Would highly recommend.

Great company

After wasting a month with Octopus who then told me they were unable to fit a battery I contacted GB Solar. Steve made a visit that same day and informed me I was able to have a battery. Within 2 weeks the system was up and running. Very professional installers who did a great job. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

excelent company to deal with. my project was for pannels and storage, and began with a slow start (due to the loacle councill) steve and Garath stayed in touche over to 2.5 years it took to get the consent I needed. GB solar have been amaizing the whole way through and continue to be excellent support if I have any questions the team is always happy and prompt at replying. I continue to recommend theme to anyone that asks about solar.

Home solar, Battery storage, EV charger & hot water heating system fitted by GB Solar. It has been a few weeks since my installation. I did some research about systems and installers and the reviewsfor this family company were brilliant, obviously i had a few companies around for a quote, some were giving the hard sell & some were trying to sell me something i didn't want & not listening to me. I can honestly say, from the first contact with Steve the sales manager it felt very comfortable & extremely knowledgeable, listened to what needed from the system and advised me what they could do for me. And at a great price. The installation guys were also prompt keeping me updated on there progress very professional,clean & tidy workmanship. So I have no hesitation in highly recommending GB Solar as my experience has been 5 star. Thank you everyone at GB Solar for your professionalism.

From the moment Steve came to do the survey I felt confident that I’d chosen the right company. Everyone was very knowledgable and the install was done to a very high standard. I’m very happy with everything and it’s been running smoothly for the past 4 weeks. A few of the panels were damaged in transit and they were swapped without any quibble straight away. I would definitely recommend using them, they aren’t the cheapest but you get what you pay for which is attention to detail and a tidy install.

Recently had solar panels / battery fitted by GBSolar could not have gone smoother, great team of people, excellent initial presentation by Steve followed by a super installation team. New exactly what they were doing no wasting of time and all completed in 3 days. System has worked perfectly since and exceeded the amount of power advised in the quote. I was considering battery storeage as part of a bigger upgrade to my home, I came across GB Solar as being a local approved fitter for Tesla batteries. Steve booked a home visit with me and went through everything I needed to know, discussed placement and where the batteries would perform best. Brilliant service from all the team. It started when Gareth came for a home visit even when he knew I was unlikely to go ahead with a purchase (an odd shaped roof led to poor quality quotes from larger competitors). However, the system and price offered were brilliant. The on site team were friendly and professional and even managed to fit an additional panel on compared to initial quote. All the wiring etc looks smart and the site was left tidy. The system seems to be working well. After sales service from Steph has been friendly and professional as well. Highly recommend.

Having an ideal south facing roof I decided to investigate the possibility of installing solar panels and battery storage to reduce my energy bills. Knowing little about the technology I contacted a dozen or more companies to see what they offered. I was bombarded with emails and telephone calls offering free quotations, video consultations and appointments. Some sent quotations using a Google Earth image of the house without even contacting me to assess my requirements! Right from the first telephone call, GB Solar stood out from the rest. Steve Brown took an interest in what I wanted to achieve and was very keen to come and survey the house personally. He explained how they could help, where all the equipment would be sited and prepared a couple of proposals based on my energy consumption. Only one other company came close in repect of the personal service but their proposal was inferior to that offered by GB Solar so there was no contest. Once I placed the order I was kept fully informed when the installation would take place and it was commenced on the agreed date. The installation of the battery and inverter in the garage is extremely neat and tidy and still leaves plenty of room for the car! All the installation team were professional and the work was completed within 2 days. A slight issue with the wi-fi signal in the garage was resolved quickly with help from Josh. I have been delighted with the installation from start to finish and would not hesitate to recommend GB Solar to anyone considering solar panels and/or battery storage. I have used practically no electricity (5 kWh) from the grid in the month since it was installed and am quite amazed by the energy it generates in a summer which has been the worst for sunshine I can ever remember! Not only am I using practically no electricity from the grid I am exporting all the surplus which will contribute towards my gas bill. The GivEnergy app controlling the system is superbly easy to use and provides a mine of information about how the energy is being used. I am very pleased to award 5 stars to GB Solar for a faultless transaction.

I don’t usually do reviews as I expect a good product and service as a matter of course. However when I encounter an exceptional company I like to let everyone else in on the information. GBsolar are just this type of company, I had a system of battery storage and Solar PV array installed. From the very first contact the communication with sales and technical was first class, with several options being regarded and proposals raised the final decision was made, site visits were arranged, permissions were applied for and installations set to begin. The install team were professional and respectful and delivered a quality job. Start to finish was about 2 weeks ! The final documentation quickly followed, and now a few months later the system has been faultless. Highly recommended.

GB Solar Ltd were recommended to me by a good friend and what a great choice they turned out to be. I had previously shopped about for a battery system to complement my solar panel system and GB Solar Ltd were the most competitive on the market. From day one Gareth was very helpful with all of my questions and responded in a timely manner, was friendly and also honest. Placing an order was effortless and they booked me in as quickly as possible for an install. On the day of the install the two lads that came to install the system were polite and respectful and went about their day to day business professionally whilst at the same time were very happy to stop and answer any questions I had about the system being installed. There were no issues with the commissioning of the battery and the very next day when the sun came out the battery started to charge to full capacity and from that point forward it was free electricity and my investment was already starting to pay back for itself.
