EXCELLENT SERVICE

My experience was great from start to them finishing installation, that's 2 batteries and 16 solar panels. The electricians arrived at 7.45 am and the whole installation was completed by 2pm, which we thought was very impressive. We met 2 excellent members of the sales and design team, Mark and Martin, who were able to explain the system and the obvious benefits to be had by us both aged 76 and because of ill health and mobility issues have been using 11,000 units of electricity in our 2 bed bungalow. We are just waiting to receive the certificates and necessary paperwork to be able to contact Octopus Energy and to use one if their excellent tariffs to be able to reap the benefits of our new solar panal installation. We would recommend MY HOME SOLAR and award them 5 stars, actually more if it was possible.

Working system, company let down by comms

We have a working solar panel system, but the 0800 number system is awful and resulted in 0 callbacks and hours of emails and phone calls to chase up workmen etc. They have everything they need to be very successful if they sort the communication out.

My Home Solar reached me via a telemarketing call. Their salesperson walked through the system, then pushed for a commitment while dropping the price from £11,000 to £8,000 the rapid discounting, coupled with repeated prompts to pay a £2,000 advance immediately, was a clear hard‑sell approach rather than a consultative discussion. I contacted few other installers to benchmark. Every company I spoke to quoted £1,000–£1,500 less than My Home Solar for comparable kit and installation. I called the next day to cancel. My Home Solar confirmed the order was cancelled and said the £2,000 advance would be refunded within two days. Despite chasing for 15 days, I have not received the refund. Each time I call, I’m asked for my surname and postcode and told I’ll get a call back—which never happens. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend My Home Solar.

Safety issues with the installation…

The sales pitch and booking the installation was very easy. The installation team came and were done with a number of hours. The system works well. Unfortunately the after finishing our renovation there were some safety concerns with the system that MyHomeSolar had installed. Safety issues: They did not highlight and label the DC cables in the loft. The inverter was placed below and too close to the consumer unit (risk of Fire) The units were placed on a plywood backing board. (Not a fire retardant board) The battery was placed too close to the inverter and now unable to push the battery off switch. Not sure how this all passed the MCS certification. I have contacted the company a number of times and they said they will send someone to correct the job. No one has come or called to organise. Installed in December 2024 and contacted in January and a couple of times during the year 2025. I would love a response from them giving them opportunity to rectify the install.

My home solar were great at installing my solar system- but since then I have discovered that the bird netting is coming loose. I contacted them in August about it and they have done nothing. The issue is now much worse and 4 months have gone by with. No sign of them.

Great company to deal with supplied and fitted, no problems back up is great

Very impressed with my home solar received a phone call to see if we was interested in solar very polite on the phone and had the quote the next day no questions was to hard to answer very friendly and very quick service very happy saving money on my electric bills already

Outstanding

Outstanding. Got several quotes with different companies but these were the best and great value. Amazing turnaround - 48 hours between ordering and having the whole system up and running. Clear helpful advice, great post installation support tweaking the system to optimise it for my needs. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Be careful with these guys. I purchased a system from them and the installation was great and the team are lovely. It just does not work and shorts daily. Despite up to ten attempts to resolve the issues, they can not fix it and blame the grid. The grid have assured me the installer is at fault. Proceed with care

We came across this company at the Ideal Home Exhibition, and were impressed by the friendliness, expertise, and candour of their representative. We booked an appointment for first contact, and their reps kindly arranged the survey visit between holidays. The survey was thorough, friendly, and informative. The surveyor clearly likes his job, doing well at his job and was very positive about the company. We were due to go away again in 10 days from the survey, but the company arranged for installation in 4 days time, which was yesterday. A large team of experts, scaffolders, electricians and roofers arrived at 0700, and had completed the installation by early afternoon.. The system and it's use were very thoroughly explained and all questions were answered very well.. We are now producing way more electricity than we are using.. I only wish that we had made this investment sooner. Special efforts were made by the company to get the scaffolding removed as we have a garden party arranged for the weekend.. I cannot recommend this command highly enough.. thank you..

Now 4 months in and delighted with our system…

We had our system fitted in December 2024 and I’ve waited to give a review because it takes a while to get going properly with solar. We saw my home solar at the Christmas ideal home show and had our system fitted a couple of weeks later. We had thought about solar before but the cost of battery storage had previously been too expensive, the show offer seemed really good value. The fitting was quick and efficient and the panels look good. As newbies to Solar it has taken a while to get the best from them as the certification and acceptance by the responsible electricity companies can take a while, luckily we were with Scottish and Southern who are very quick. Meanwhile we changed our electricity and gas supplier to Octopus and once we had the acceptance for exporting electricity to the grid we could go on Octopus flux. We now discharge our battery between 16.00 and 19.00 at a premium rate and fill up our battery between 02.00 and 05.00 on the cheapest tariff. We could not have set this up without the expertise of Ian at my home solar. It took a while due to the demands on his time but we are absolutely delighted that we chose my home solar. It’s always a chance with an unfamiliar company but to have a full 10 panel system with battery storage for less than £8.000 is fantastic. We watch what we are generating via the Foxess app and use the washing machine etc when the yield is high or battery’s full. Highly recommend My Home Solar and if we moved we’d chose them again.

The Con Men

That probably seems like a tough title because you have read lots of favorable revies on their website. That is part of the con. It is their website so they only publish the favorable reviews, unfavorable ones are simply ignored. How do I know ? I had a problem, asked them to fix it on 24 Feb 2025, they promised to look in to it but did nothing, so I sent a chaser 4 days later, but still no response. I then created and posted an appropriate unfavorable review to jog them into action. Here we are 4 weeks later and it has still not been published, nor have I had any real response to my problem, which is essentially that the panels are not performing.

My experience with MyHomeSolar was great, most especially the sales process, installation was very swift and done correctly. Certificates and DNO confirmations were completed like they said. Had a hiccup post installation but they got it sorted. I would recommend these guys.

A swift and hassle free experience! The scaffolders arrived at 8:50 in the morning and we were generating our own electricity by 4. The installation team were excellent; not only were they fast and professional, but they were also a lot of fun. I've had a couple of enquiries since the system was installed, and they've been dealt with over the phone quickly and easily. I cannot fault these guys at all, and would highly recommend them!

I had solar panels installed on my roof by My home solar three months ago, and I'm still waiting for my DNO certificate. The installation itself went smoothly, but the follow-up has been disappointing. Despite numerous calls and emails, the company doesn't seem to know why there's a delay or when I can expect to receive the certificate. Their lack of communication and resolution is frustrating. I hope they can improve their post-installation support.

My Home Solar - A Fantastic Team who knows how to best to support the Customer. Having recovering from a previous company going into liquidation/ gone bust. We were not sure if we should take a chance with another Solar company. My Home Solar was recommended to us by friends who were very impressed with the team and the workmanship going forward. I have to share that we were not disappointed. Right from the get go.. Mark was assigned on the 21Aug and spent the time was exemplary. The Solar package was installed on Tuesday (29 Aug) and two days in, it’s working perfectly. On the original design Mark suggested that we install a 10kw battery. We was not sure initially due to the additional cost involved, but wen ahead with the 10kw battery. Which was the right size to install due to the amount of Solar energy generated by the PV’s. So thanks to Mark for his honesty & professionalism. The whole team part of my installation was like watching the GB Athletic’s relay team carrying the baton then passing it on from team member to team member. From Sales (Mark) to the Architect (Chris), then the scaffolding team (Dan). And the the roofer / installer/ main man (Tom) and the sparky (Craig). Not forgetting the Customer Support Team (Max) were absolutely fantastic. During the whole experience they were alway making sure we were happy with decisions made to keep things moving forward. Very impressed with this company, good competitive quote using Energizer panels, Givenergy battery and Inverter. Owner of the business Rob performed the technical survey on Saturday and the team installed the following Monday! George and his father stayed on late to ensure system was fully functional and did an excellent job of fitting the Inverter and Battery, Isolators and cable routing was very neat. Tony and Luke fitted all the panels without fuss despite carrying all the gear up to the roof! All round a very pleasant experience with a knowledgeable friendly team. Thanks, recommend highly!

My Home Solar were fantastic throughout the whole process, installation was done within 4 days of signing up! Really happy with the outcome, had a battery installed as well and immediately benefiting from Solar. Very competitively priced too, overall 5 star service and have already recommended to family & friends.

Not everything goes as planned, and after a couple of revisions of the system, even during installation, i can only say Rob and has team have been a pleasure to work with. Clean and tidy workers, along with helpful office staff. Have already recommended them to family and friends.

I highly recommend for a number of reasons; there was no pressure from the sales people and they were very informative; after paying the deposit, the panels were put in place two days later so the service was very quick and they worked around my needs so I only had to take one day of annual leave; they offered the best quote of three companies; the team of fitters were very pleasant and respectful and worked incredibly quickly as the scafffolding was up and down within a matter of hours.

Good clear presentation followed by very detailed Quotation with full equipment data sheets. My Home Solar was the best presented and most affordable system quoted. Accepted Quote on a Monday, survey the following day and installed and working the next day, thanks to a happy coincidence of program schedules. Scaffolding away and system exporting to the Grid. Done and dusted in four days and apart from the Panels, no sign of disturbance. Job very well done. Would fully recommend My Home Solar.

Great service from first contact right through to installation and after sales. Installed within 7 days of signing contract. Deposit was reasonable and full payment only after the job is done. I can't fault any part of the process or various teams involved. Highly recommended thanks again

Our solar installation has just been completed in three days-Magnificent!! Can we just say how impressed we were with all three very hard working teams, as well as their very pleasant manner. No questions were too much trouble to answer. Mark (your advisor who came to speak to us about the installation) was also very helpful and his knowledge was impressive! Installing our solar panels was an extremely smooth and quick process. Mr Henson reviewed our power usage, advised us on the number of panels and battery type we should use. He also explained what we could expect for performance with our preferred installation location. Within a week of accepting his quote the surveyor had completed his survey and the panels, inverter and battery were installed, just as promised. They are performing as Mr. Henson expected. Everyone we have dealt with from MyHomeSolar has done exactly what they said they would, have answered our questions promptly and have been very pleasant to deal with. The installers even discussed panel cleaning with our window cleaner (who turned up during the installation) so he knows when and how to clean them.

We just got our system installed. We got quotation and installation date within 10 days. All very professional and quick. We've contacted all the other solar companies in our area, but we had to wait more than 6 months, due to high demand. Very pleased.

I've been really please with the levels of communication and customer service provided by the team at My Home Solar. From initial advice through to installation everyone I have met has been helpful and professional. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend My Home Solar to anybody looking into having solar Panel installed.
