First Class Service/Product

BSolar are a first class operator who I cannot praise enough. They were recommended by a neighbour. Initially I was going with Octopus for installation of my solar panels (around 24 panels to be fitted with a Tesla 3 power wall). What always concerned me about Octopus is that they were going to install them on the back of my detached garage which is largely covered by some tall trees and potentially impacting efficiency for solar generation. It was also not south facing which again of concern. They were booked in for months and with a week to go what concerned me was a few things 1) no on site survey 2) potentially poor location of solar panels and therefore lacking efficiency 3) no ability to add multiple batteries and 4) they will not install on multiple dwellings ie garage detached and then main house so future proofing was always a concern. When I called BSolar (Mike) he came round the same day literally within an hour of my call and really knew his stuff but importantly listened to my energy requirements and how our house and our family use it. There was no hard selling, no over selling of endless solar panels or batteries and always with advice of you can add more panels or add to the battery in the future if you choose so flexibility was always there. The same day Mike (owner of BSolar) gave me a quote for different battery options showing cost and potential payback period based on solar production. With this I called Octopus who to be fair were very good on cancelling my installation and even refunded my deposit which I handed expected. I decided to go with 42 solar panels and a SigEnergy battery which is modular so you can continue to add to it. I initially was quoted for x3 8kw batteries but added a fourth to take it 32 kw and then during installation I added another 8 kw battery so total 40 kw. Again this shows the flexibility of BSolar. Mike went through different battery options ie Tesla v SigEnergy and gave his advice/recommendation but left it for me to research so again no pressure or hard selling. He also amazingly managed to fit us in for installation - literally with a few weeks and the installation process was very quick and efficient. What I also like is that they have plenty of time to show you the system, setup the app and also have great aftercare. If ever I have a question Mike is there to answer any questions. They installed all the anti bird nesting around the panels and also listened to any concerns about aesthetic appearance to make it as least intrusive as possible whilst not compromising on solar efficiency. I just cannot fault this company. A credit to the industry and someone I feel can be trusted. I would recommend them to anyone. We have had a lot of work done to our house over the last several months but they are amongst the best.

I was contacted within a few hours of requesting an estimate with a thorough and comprehensive proposal. Mike was one of the only installers I contacted who listened to exactly what I had in mind & offered exactly what I had asked for, but more than that he sent a second larger system proposal which made more sense which I eventually went for. The work was carried out in a timely manner by a great team who treated our home with respect, and were friendly courteous and professional. The installation is neat and has been pumping out electrons at a prodigious rate without any problems. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend BSolar to anyone wanting any solar products in their home.

B Solar (Mike) was recommended to us from my father-in-law - who had already put time into researching local installers and chose B Solar for his system. Mike was very straightforward with his approach and wasn’t pushy at all - even suggesting options to save us money rather than costing us and earning him more. The guys at B Solar have just completed our 14 panel installation with 6kw inverter and 8kw battery by Sigenergy and we couldn’t be happier. From the outset Mike was very patient answering my numerous questions about alternative installations and the best solution for our needs. On the first day Andy, the scaffolder, put up scaffolding on 2 elevations and on the same day Matt and his 2 sons set to work with the installation. After spending a year gathering quotes, researching and trying to understand if solar was the way to go. I ended up going back to the first person who quoted me…..Mike at B Solar. I found B Solar after contacting one of their customers who reviewed them in a Facebook group I was in. After I decided what system to go for Mike emailed a contract and then we signed up and set a date for install. Mike kept me updated as he applied for the DNO G99, that came through really quick. He then contacted me a week before to confirm the install date was still set to go ahead. Install day and the team arrived later than expected (bad weather held them up) but they kept me updated so wasn’t a problem. The team got to work and all went really smoothly, didn’t realise they were there most of the time! Nice clean install, neat and tidy work. They always asked before they went ahead regarding placement of battery, wiring etc. Mike inspected upon completion and I was handed all relevant certificates and shown how to use the App. Really happy with what we have purchased and I’m really happy to recommend B Solar for their professionalism.

Michael and his team were first class. The advice was thorough, assessment of my property and requirements detailed and thoughtful. The workmanship couldn’t be faulted and the property was left tidy and waste removed. The SigEnergy system works brilliantly and we’re already reaping the rewards. As solar equipment costs have come down over the years, other installers aren't passing these cost savings to their customers. Whereas I was struck by Mike's transparency when he posted a recent job on a Facebook Solar group with a very reasonable price breakdown. I could see they also took pride in their electrical work - all very neat and tidy. BSolar have since installed a 10 panel in-roof 4.4kW solar system and an Eddi hot water controller for me and I have recommended them to 3 of my friends! Great job guys!

Solar panels and battery installation

I have had solar panels and battery installed by B Solar. Throughout my initial investigations, the company were attentive to my requirements and performed a "no fuss" site survey. I discovered that a former colleague had used the company and was very happy with the results, so decided to go with this company. Installation was efficient, the engineers liaised with me to ensure that everything was put in place as desired. They exhibited expertise and infused confidence. The system was quickly up and running and they tidied up efficiently. I had to chase several times to have the scaffolding removed, but this was not the fault of B Solar. My system is currently generating all the electricity for my home (although this will change in winter) and I look forward to being able to sell the excess to my energy supplier.

Mike, who runs the company, is extremely helpful and explains exactly what each piece of equipment does and how everything can be monitored and controlled by app. MIke's team (back office to installers and electricians) is brilliant. Great service

My dad had solar panels and battery fitted before he passed away, when i moved into the property there were issues connecting with my WIFI. Mike was very patient and accommodating in getting the issue resolved as quickly as possible. After a couple of visits the issue was resolved and i am able to access the app. Mike also recommended changing network providers for my electricity which i am in the process of moving over to. Brilliant service and would 100% recommend.

Mike and his team from B-Solar were very helpful and professional. We are a high energy user and Mike used every available part of our useful space to make sure we got the most from the panels I changed my mind a few times (sorry Matty -the fitter) and between all of us we found new ways to achieve the best output with the panels in places I was happy with The app is addictive and although Mike explained January is a low yield month for solar we are impressed with the energy the system is already giving us. Mike is great at answering questions in a way a novice can understand

Highly recommend this company

Mike was not the first person to visit us but by far he was the best along with his team of fitters We are a high energy user and Mike found ways to instal the maximum number of panels. Both Mike Matty and Arun we very accommodating when I changed my mind a few times -one time meaning they had to dismantle a whole array and re position them …. The system is working well even producing a small input under cloud in January !! Bsolar are very professional and run a tidy site

B-Solar…A Knowledgable, friendly, family orientated firm from the local area.

After answering a posting on the local FB page Mike and Matt came along and talked through the options and fitting possibilities before giving me a quote. I had been subject to a number of Sales people a) not even coming to look or b) coming to visit but not knowing the ins and outs of the fit. Mike and Matt were the people who were going to be 'hands on' so they could walk the walk. They also gave me price options based on the type of equiment, number of batteries, etc and so we chose the 16 panel fitting with 12 South facing and 4 West facing panels. A date was set in Early January. Matt and Aaron arrived on time, scaffolding was kept to a minimum, they worked quickly and efficiently, talked us through the fit on a day to day basis and despite it being the coldest days of the year (so far) they fitted it all on time, even though on a couple of days they had to wait for the frost to clear off the rooftops. The last day was spent in the loft fitting the inverter and battery stack and they fitted the connection to the main fuseboard. At the end of the fit Mike hooked everything up and Amelia took care of all the authorities and certificates making the transistion from one Octopus Energy tariff to another seamless. Aaron set up the app on my iPhone and explained how it worked with Mike explaining the various pages. As I write this the panels are producing an excess of power which is charging the batteries and feeding back into the grid. Thanks guys. I can't recommend B-Solar highly enough. A friendly family orientated firm from the local area.

We have been looking at getting Solar…

We have been looking at getting Solar for a while now. Mike posted on Facebook on a group local to where we both live looking for people that were interested. We contacted him, got a quote, and had a site visit. Mike was happy to accommodate our requests for keeping all the wiring / electrical equipment neatly hidden away where possible and answered all our questions. We went for a 5.33kW system 13 x 410W Panels, 5kW Inverter and 7.8kW Battery Storage. Everything was installed in the roof space neatly with just two wires running back to the CU. Scaffold was installed a few days before the installation took place. Due to the weather and it being icy, some more scaffold was needed to finish off the installation safely. The roof guys done an excellent job, were polite, tidy and made it all look good afterwards. The system was installed and up and running in 2 days. Mike provided all the documentation and certificates on completion and the MCS certificate followed a couple of days later. We are happy to recommend Mike and his team / B Solar Energy for Solar installation.

Mike and the B Solar team delivered…

Mike and the B Solar team delivered straightforward advice and expertly guided me through the options available. At my property in Bishops Stortford, they installed a 20kw 45-panel system, complemented by 2 x 8kw Solax string inverters and an additional Powerwall 2, boosting my battery capacity to 27kw. This seamlessly integrated with my older 3kw, 14-panel array. Mike foresaw future needs, leaving cabling for easy expansion post-FiT expiration. With a daily consumption of 65kw (spiking when I plug in my EV), maximizing solar energy production was crucial. The installation was hassle-free, with everyone being polite and courteous and leaving the property in pristine condition. Despite obtaining two other quotes, both from national and local firms, Mike’s solution stood out as not only more cost-effective but also free from design flaws identified by him. While it’s only been a month, I’m already pleased with the results and wholeheartedly recommend Mike and B Solar to others.

Very happy to recommend B Solar after my installation three weeks ago. I did lots of research into this new subject (to me!) and obtained a number of quotes. B Solar were not the cheapest, but the solution offered ticked all my boxes as did Mike's approach to the job. My install (20 panels split east/west, inverter and three batteries) was booked in after a site visit and was completed by Mike and Matt in two days. The inevitable issues encountered when retrofitting systems to existing buildings were dealt with creatively and without fuss and the resulting installation is very tidy and performing excellently. Definitely worth going local rather than using a national company for solar, and you won't go far wrong if you select Mike & his team.

I had a 16 panel East-West 6.4 kW Solax…

I had a 16 panel East-West 6.4 kW Solax system with 6 kW battery storage fitted at the end of May. After 5 months, I am very happy with the system, with daily average 29 kWh in June, 22 kWh July, 22 kWh in August, 18 kWh in September. Overall, these numbers match those in the modelling software used by BSolar, which was great to see. I did quite a lot of research before settling on BSolar. They were a little more expensive than some on-line options, but were a local company which were recommended by a friend who had a B-Solar installation. I was very impressed by the whole experience. The quote accurately matched the real system output, and the installation team were incredibly professional and helpful. The owner, Mike, even came to help with the scaffolding installation to maintain the promised timescales when one of the scaffolders did not turn up. The installation was left very neat and tidy, and BSolar did all of the required work to get a rapid grant of the MCS etc certificates to allow connection and export to the grid. As we approach winter, the daily output is now dropping below my daily needs, so I have set the batteries to charge overnight at a cheaper electricity rate. Any excess solar output is then automatically exported to the grid at a slightly higher rate than I pay for the import during the night (Octopus Flux Tariff). I have no hesitation recommending BSolar.

B Solar installed my system 10months ago and I couldn’t be happier! When looking for solar panels, B Solar was recommended to me. At the quote stage they were competitively priced and were the only supplier that also came to visit the site. I was provided with realistic expectations for what I could achieve with the roof space I had (not always the case with some others). Went with a 20 panel install with twin battery storage. Install was quick and on schedule and Mike even had the scaffold up a couple of days early so I could get some repair work done on a couple of tiles before they started. The team were fantastic and explained how the different phases were done to optimise panel efficiency. When the work was done, Mike explained the system operation and set it up for me. Even recently when I needed help setting up charging of the batteries from the grid (during cheap night time electric) on bad weather days in winter, a quick message to Mike and he called back to talk me through it. I honestly couldn’t be happier and it’s performing really well, even a little better than I expected. I would highly recommend B Solar to anyone looking to get an efficient solar system suited to their individual needs.

We had our solar system installed a few weeks ago and are overall quite pleased with how the system is doing. We went with the additional battery and iboost option and its proving to be enough to meet most of our energy needs. The Solax app is quite intuitive and offers a range of useful functions. The solar system install took 4 days with scaffolding going up 2 days before the install and coming down 2 weeks after the installation. During the install everyone was friendly, courteous and professional and were kind enough to answer our neverending questions . Harry (electrician) showed me how the various bits came together with what the system can and cannot do . This prompted us to go with additional battery after the install had started , which Mike was able to supply and install within a couple of days. The solar system install took 4 days with scaffolding going up 2 days before the install and coming down 2 weeks after the installation. Overall , we are very happy with Mike and his team . Thank you
