My hubby met the guy who serviced boiler . Polite efficient respected our property . He even took footwear off which we appreciated cos just had new carpets . We are happy with the service and we defo will book again . Plus you where highly recomended to us by 1 of my clients i clean for thank u .

We had our old gravity-fed boiler replaced with a Worcester Greenstar 28kw cdi compact ERP Combination boiler on Darren’s recommendation. This entailed major pipework re-routing etc. The engineers (Ben & Terry) arrived dead on schedule. The work was carried out fast and efficiently and everything explained and tidied afterwards. The following day the bricklayer finished the job outside taking much more care than was expected. The whole job seems to be very professional and good value for money. We can recommend them.

The gas safety check was carried out promptly and efficiently in October 2025. Just recently, I requested a copy of the gas safety certificate which was promptly emailed to me. Excellent service all round.

great work but hidden 'call out charges' added to bill

The work the engineer did was great replacing shower and fixing a leak. I was advised that a part/new system needs replacing, I got a second opinion and told me nothing needed replacing, saving me thousands. I was told the cost for the work from the engineer (he had phoned the office for a quote) and when the bill arrived it was £100 more - "call out charge", (this wasn't an emergency call out this was a booked appointment). Neither office staff or the engineer said anything about a 'call out charge'. Very sneaky, please be wary about extra charges.

Paid £90 for a guy to service the boiler. He didn't. Then a few weeks later I get an invoice sent to me to pay again. I wonder if John Wayne is their C.E.O?

First Class Service Having recently purchased our house, and after a complete rip out and new pipework and plumbing, including underfloor (wet) heating we were losing boiler pressure every 20mins. several plumbers attended to fix the problem including the original plumber (5 times). after 3 months we where losing the will when i contacted A. Mellor Plumbing. Harrison came out and after three hours the job was done and fixed. it was the fact that he could be bothered and wanted to fix it that impressed. he had an horrendous, M60, journey home at 5pm but he got the job done. Mellor are definitely my go to in the future. Thank you.

My boiler broke down on a Sunday afternoon. No heating or hot water and very cold weather. I phoned my insurance company to discover that I wasn’t insured for breakdowns of the boiler only for services of the boiler. I was amazed and quite upset and quite angry On Monday morning the following day I used my phone to look for anyone who would answer the phone before 9.0am and could repair the boiler quite quickly. I phoned Mr Mellor who answered the phone immediately. He asked for my postcode and e-mail address and said I will phone you back in 2 minutes. He did just that and said “ I will have an engineer with you in 30 minutes. Within 30 minutes the engineer turned up and was friendly, helpful and had the heating and hot water back on in no time. A truly wonderful service and I will definitely be using Mr Mellor again. Cheaper than the insurance I am paying for which will now be cancelled. Thank you very much

Arrived on time to do the quote, after ringing to check it was OK. When we agreed too the price, which was very good, he arranged to come out to fit a new radiator at the time planned. The man did a great job and left it clean and tidy. Payment was easy over the phone. Would highly recommend this company

We have just had a downstairs cloakroom installed by A Mellor plumbing Services. Darren coordinated the job perfectly with all the very pleasant tradesmen attending as per plan and leaving the area clean and tidy each day when they left. The cloakroom looks brilliant. Recently had a Vaillant Air Source Heat Pump system installed. From initial contact through to finalised job, all first class, neat, knowledgeable, tidy and polite. Hit a few snags along the way and some changes were necessary, but all overcome and very pleased with the end result. Highly recommend.

We had a leaky toilet that needed fixing. The operative arrived as scheduled, replaced the necessary part, and repaired it within about 40 minutes. They also checked for any other issues. We're happy with the work done.

Our experience with A Mellor Plumbing, Heating and Renewable Energy Services Ltd was, unfortunately, a very difficult one. We had a complex air source heat pump system installed as part of a significant investment in our home. From early on, we struggled with how the system was performing. The heating felt inconsistent, and many rooms didn’t seem to maintain a stable temperature. We spent a considerable amount of time trying to understand and manage these issues. Our energy bills became extremely high, which we only fully understood after a lot of trial, monitoring, and investigation. As homeowners without technical expertise, we had no reason to question how the system was set up until much later. Flow issues, changing heat levels, and defrost cycles were frequent and difficult to manage. Various engineers attended over time, but from our perspective, the problems persisted and we were left trying to deal with much of it ourselves. A radiator in the front room consistently struggled to heat properly. Although this was acknowledged in email exchanges, we didn’t receive a solution that fully addressed the issue during our time in the property. While there were efforts made to assist us, the situation remained stressful and unresolved from our point of view. We spent an extraordinary amount of time trying to keep the system working smoothly — we estimate over 90 full days — and this had a real impact on our time, finances, and wellbeing. This review reflects our personal and documented experience with the system as users. This review is based entirely on our personal experience and has been revised solely to ensure clarity and fairness.
