Fabulous customer service
Fabulous customer service. James went well beyond the call by making not only a home visit to my 93 year old Mum to resolve a phone that had stopped working, but by arranging BT to visit on the same day when he worked out the problem was with the line not the phone. Highly recommend. Thank you.
Responsive to an urgent need
I needed urgent action before I could let new tenants move into one of my properties. The K & B admin staff went above and beyond by rearranging the engineers' schedules so that I had an engineer on-site within 24 hours, enabling the tenants to move in that same day. Excellent customer service.
Gross negligence by kings and Barnham
Kings and Barnham installed my alarm system and were employed on a maintenance contract at my house from 2003. In 2020 for no reason they cancelled my contract without informing me so I had no idea I was no longer covered until I phoned them to book a maintenance appointment. All the staff in the office were completely unapologetic about this situation, difficult to deal with and unhelpful. Meanwhile my household insurance has been invalidated for the last five years. Very very disappointed in a firm that has a good reputation and I had always trusted with my security. Shame on you Kings and Barham this is no way to treat your loyal longterm customers. It seems your only explanation is that you changed your IT system!

I have used a King’s and Barnham for the last 10 years. I love the way they work. You pay for what you need/ use so no huge costs. The staff, engineers are so helpful and friendly. They are elderly conscious so understand how we may struggle with tech. Fantastic company.
Rangemaster oven delivery and installation
From first enquiry to delivery, removal and installation, the service was first class. Original order placed with John Lewis but after an utterly shambolic post order experience with inability to install or co ordinate internally in what they could offer, I cancelled the order for a £2,500 oven and sought help from K&B. Having used K&B before, with hindsight, I’m not sure why we didn’t try there first! We certainly will in the future. Always super helpful and the delivery and installation was excellent. Polite, knowledgeable and very helpful. Efficiently carried out exactly when they said they would arrive. Very pleased.

Good information on our survey. On the morning of the instillation the engineer Steve arrived on time. Steve was professional knowledgeable and installed the alarm with no problems at all. Speak to Laura about your alarm needs.

I have changed my telephone to digital and so needed my intruder alarm updating. Kings and Barnhams fitted the alarm and maintain it also. Despite being busy with other customers, they fitted me in with two engineers’ visits (necessary because it was not clear what exactly the upgrade to the telephone was going to involve, and the telephone company did not come when they said they would ! ). The work was done this morning, the engineer arriving promptly and doing the job with minimal disruption. The best thing was that he could re-use existing wiring, so no new holes needed drilling, and no new wires laying. Very relieved to get the job done so painlessly ! Thank you to Laura in Admin, and to Stephen and Tom who are both clearly very competent engineers, and also considerate and helpful to customers.

Fantastic electricians
We had 2 contractors conducting a 5 year fixed wiring inspection Curtis Gilbert and Mylo Hill. Both of these employee's were extremely polite and willing to listen and answer our questions as well as provide advice to us over the 9 days they attended UTCN. Both were extremely knowledgeable and a delight to have work on site and would welcome both of them for further work here at UTCN. We were recently on a caravan park with our 85 year old mother when there was a power outage. When we contacted Kings and Barnhams we were put in touch with Paul Gunton who was the sparky “on duty” as it was a cold Sunday afternoon. Paul was unbelievable helpful and went significantly over and above what might have been ordinarily expected to ensure that we were sorted out. His kindness and thoughtfulness rescued a potentially dismal weekend - we are forever in his debt

We had a power outage in part of our house and had a recommendation from a contact to use K&B. The problem occurred just after Christmas on a very windy day that could have caused a number of power issues and we thought we would be lucky if they could come out. To our surprise they were able to come over within half an hour. They were super helpful and identified and solved the problem. Our work was done by Matthew. We would highly recommend them.

I always use Kings and Barnhams in Holt…
I always use Kings and Barnhams in Holt for white goods. They would feel right at home here, with a K&B washing machine, dishwasher, cooker, fridge freezer and now tumble dryer. As ever, the service was prompt, efficient, friendly, knowledgeable. They take the old appliance away, bring the new one in, install it, make sure it works, and all done in about 20 minutes flat. There is no point researching white goods online locally as they price-match. Highly recommended to everyone in the Holt area.
Fire detection system linked to intruder alarm does not comply with Building Regs approved Document Part B
We had a monitored (by an Alarm Receiving Centre) Texecom intruder and fire detection alarm installed by Kings & Barnhams in a new build (builder Norfolk Homes Ltd). We have now ascertained that the fire detection element of the system , comprising 10 Texecom sensorssounders does not comply with Building Regulations Approved Part B. To comply with the Building Regs it would need to be powered by a dedicated circuit at the Consumer Unit (fuse board). It would need specific cabling to comply with the Building Regs . All could have been achieved when installed. K&B did not at any point in time when designing the system advise that it would not be capable of complying with approved Part B. If the fire detection system wasn't going to comply with approved Part B that should have been made explicit when the system was designed. In that case I would not have ordered this system. By contrast the normal hard -wired interlinked detector /sensor system (not monitored by an Alarm Receiving Centre) normally provided by Norfolk Homes is fully compliant . For their system Norfolk Homes produces a certificate of compliance and the fire detection system is on a dedicated radial circuit compliant with approved document part B . When we had the K&B system independently examined it came to light that their fire detection system was missing 2 detectors in critical areas outside a bedroom on a second floor and they had overlooked the need to have a sensor outside a 3rd floor bedroom. Eventually they accepted these omissions and installed the necessary sensors free of charge. That was OK but what a basic mistake to make in the first place! Doesn't give a feeling of confidence
Good, efficient, local alarm company.
Efficient, always polite technicians. Annual / bi-annual servicing guys are polite and quick. Accounts department is fast and efficient. If alarm goes off while away, response time is fast and efficient.

I posted a review complaining of poor service from Kings & Barnhams, as the engineer they sent out did not know how to fix our alarm system. To update: a week later, after my review, another engineer came out after a phone call from the services manager, asking about our alarm system. This time, they sent someone prepared, with instruction manual for our system. Stephen was very professional and polite, fixed the problem quickly and left us his direct contact details in case we needed his help again, with no further charges. Thank you Stephen, much better service Kings & Barnhams!
