We did a fair bit of homework and knew what was possible and what we wanted to achieve from the system. Following an on site survey Max came up with a good competitive system but told us to get more quotations. This we did and they varied considerably but along the way we picked up further knowledge. Max and SQ1 tweaked the system to give us, not the cheapest or most expensive, but the most effective solar and battery system that we could reasonably achieve. We are still on a fixed rate Eon deal without any sell back but even in January 2025 we saved approx £30 on our electricity bill. There was no hard sell and we felt very comfortable dealing with them. Our queries and system changes were always dealt with promptly. The installation team were a friendly and efficient lot despite the cold December weather. Finally, Ollie commissioned the system ensuring we understood how it would work and along with the battery app we could get the best benefit. We know that when we change to a smart tariff they will be on hand to help us with that too. All-in-all absolutely no reason not to give them the full 5 STARS.

Square 1 installed our solar system just over three years ago. We weren't sure who to pick as one of my concerns was about back up after the installation. We had in mind the times when plastic window companies were popping up ever five minutes then going out of business and any warranty being useless. Two different sets of friends had also told us about their experience going through the council schemes for solar systems and finding they had issues but were unable to get support and struggled to find help in resolving problems. Anyway, having spoken to a couple of companies we went with Square 1, we liked Max, didn't find him pushy and really seemed to be looking to provide a system that suited our needs not his profits! Following the installation I submitted a very positive review of Square 1. Three years later we are very happy with our system, it has been doing much better than we envisaged and our utility bill has been reduced drastically. Recently we noticed that for some unexplained reason every now and again our battery would charge from the grid overnight which is not something we would expect. As a result of this we contacted Max who arranged for us to speak to Oliver (the Tech man!) Oliver went into my account remotely and could see there was an issue. He also took the time to review our system and usage in case any adjustments were required and suggested an additional battery might be appropriate but he would look into that. Olive went away to investigate the issue with the battery charging unexpectedly and came back to us the same day, he informed us that the battery issue had been resolved and having looked at my system and usage, another battery would not be required. We are also buying a plug in hybrid car shortly and Oliver discussed the best way to use this in conjunction with our car. There are three things that my experience with Square 1 have shown me, firstly and most importantly they are still there to help with any issues that might arise with my system and work on resolving those issues. Secondly they could have tried to sell me an additional battery but didn't deem it unnecessary so didn't try to sell us one. We're not sure all companies would be so honest! Lastly they were happy to discuss and advise on the purchase of our car and how to get the best from it in conjunction with the solar system. Overall we couldn't be happier with the service from Max and Oliver at Square 1, they provided a better than expected system, they only tried to sell us what we actually needed and they continue to provide the support we were was hoping for. What more could you want from a company, we wouldn't hesitate in recommending this company to friends and family, which we have already done.

I would highly recommend Square1 for your solar installation. After getting quotes from firms linked to big energy firms I asked around, was told about Square1 and didn't look back. The quote was for about the same but with much better spec panels and the fantastic SigenStor battery system. Max was great designing the system to meet our needs rather than sell gear and Oliver, Imhal and the rest of the install team were very respectful and efficient while on site. All were friendly and professional at all times. Aftercare getting set up with Mpan, SEG and other manner of acronyms was really good and four weeks after install I am completely up and running selling surplus back to the grid. Early indications are that we are beating the predictions for generation but it has been a sunny December. 👍

I found Square1 Installations Ltd through Google, where I read all their glowing reviews, and was pleased to discover they were local to me too. After doing my usual thorough research (YouTube videos, online forums – I always investigate every option before a big purchase), I contacted them to discuss the exact solar and battery setup I wanted. I spoke to Max, who was knowledgeable, patient and reassuring – he confirmed everything was doable without any hard sell. I decided to upgrade to an in-roof solar panel mounting system for a cleaner, more integrated look, and even with that addition the quote was very reasonable. The work started within a month of agreeing the final specification. The team that arrived to erect the scaffolding were polite and professional, and Oliver from Square1 was on site throughout to oversee every stage of the installation and happily answer all my questions. A few days later the system was fully commissioned and working perfectly. With two Tesla batteries I can now store plenty of energy – either from cheap-rate overnight tariffs or from sunny days – to charge the car, run the house, or export back to the grid. I know it’ll take a few years to recoup the investment, but with rising energy prices it could be sooner than expected. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Square1 Installations to anyone looking for a high-quality solar system. They’re a local company who clearly love what they do and are committed to giving customers the best possible experience. Highly recommended! John M

Always so impressed by customer care and after sales service. Had an issue with App for the solar panels on a Sunday. Sent a message asking to speak to them on Monday and rather than waiting was contacted immediately with a working solution. Fantastic!!!

SQ1 installed an 11-panel, 4.95kWp tub mounted system with 10kWh batteries on our flat roof. From start to finish, Max, Ollie and their team provided an exceptional level of service and communication, at a very fair price. They've now done four of the 16 houses on our close, which I think is testament to their business and professionalism. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Their time and knowledge in advising on the most practical and beneficial system, for me, it was Aiko panels at just over 8kw with a sigen inverter and 10kwh (9.04) storage battery. Interesting challenge on 1 roof in particular was overcome. John, Aiden And Mal were courteous and friendly. Max and Oliver understanding and accommodating.

My dealings with Square1 have been perfect from the initial review of my house through to the quote and onto the installation. I live in an old house with and old roof which brings its own complexities to the installation, Square1 were very thoughtful to such an old property and they really looked after the house as if it were their own. I had 7.6kW of panels, 13kWh batteries and gateway from Sigenergy installed, it has worked faultlessly since installation and is turning out to be a really powerful setup. Credit where credit is due to everyone that helped with this project. Max, Ollie and the team are brilliant to work with and great fun to chat to, this really makes life easy when you don’t need to worry about people working on your roof and around your house. I would thoroughly recommend anyone to use Square1. Happy to reference this company to any prospective customers.

Made the decision to go for solar and made a visit to a wholesale company who recommended Square 1 . Turns out to be a good recommendation. Start to finish very easy all questions answered, options given on equipment, from low to high end no push for any particular one. I choose to upgrade the quote on a few items which was no problem for them. Installation team arrived as per schedule and were a pleasure to make tea for ! Electrical team suggested an upgrade that I had not really thought about (not a EV car person) again no problem at this late stage. All work done to high standard, cannot fault guys . System commissioned and explained, once I get tariff sorted as EDF have no real answer to Octopus ,savings from monitoring what has only been a few days are evident, I am using everything as normal to see if I have chosen the right system to suit which appears to be slightly over maybe but I'm very happy. I have 17 panels - 6kw invertor - 9.4kw battery . Cost wise I was happy with the end price bearing in mind they are local not a Facebook ad. I can really recommend Max-Oli and their team . Anyone is welcome to come and see the installation .

We have had solar panels for 11 yrs but over the last two years have developed a problem with pigeons taking up residence. Our last FIT reading seemed low and the pigeon poo was becoming a nightmare! We were unsure of the way forward as finding someone trustworthy was a concern to us. Quite by chance we were recommended this company by a customer that had had a very positive experience of their work. I gave them a call and from start to finish we were reassured by their professionalism and knowledge. They advised us but with no ‘hard sell’ and helped us make what we feel was the right decision. Our panels were thoroughly cleaned and overhauled and we had a new inverter fitted. We can now keep a track of our panels output via an app on our phones :)) We have no difficulty in recommending this company.Thank you Sq1, particularly Oliver who from day one put our minds at ease.

Square1 delivered a superb service for our recent install. We had meetings and quotes from other firms in East Anglia, but were won over by Square1's flexibility with regards to what equipment we could go for, the lack of any hard sell, and a personal recommendation from a neighbour who had also gone with them about a year or so ago. Company Directors Oliver and Max are very hands on, personable and easy to communicate with. Installers John and Aidan were delightful, as was the electrician Tiago. Everyone involved was courteous and professional and left site tidier than when they arrived! It really has been no hassle from start to finish and I'd recommend them to anyone. In fact, another neighbour came over whilst they were on site, met the guys, had a look at the quality of the install and was so impressed, he's going ahead with them too.

Square1 Installations, have completed my installation of solar/battery system and EV car charger. The service from first enquiry to installation and commissioning was faultless, the installation crews including scaffolders, electrician (EV charger), Electrician Solar system and the Solar panel installation team where polite, efficient and the job was left clean and tidy. The commissioning engineer (Oliver), was in contact with me from start to finish and was very patient in explaining how the system worked with tips on how to get the best from the system. Overall, Square 1 provided an excellent service at a competitive price and installed exactly when they said they would.

It has now been a couple of months since the installation of my solar panels by Square1, I have waited until now as I wanted to comment on how well the system has performed in good weather. Firstly though Max and Olly were great and I am so pleased that I decided to go with them, although they were not the cheapest quote I am so pleased that I went with a local company who had the knowledge and experience that these guys have. This company was personally recommended to me by a friend. The installation was done very professionally and everything handed over and explained on the app. The team that installed my system were great and did a top job. The aftercare is second to none, I had a issue which was only apparent when we had some good weather whereby the output was being limited once the battery was full, I messaged Olly and he fixed this remotely and now the system is preforming great. I have generated 630kw from solar and only imported 14kw from the grid in 21 days of March from my 7kw EcoFlow system. Thanks Square1!

Well! What can I say! Max and Oli are the dream team! From coming out to give us a quote to installation was seamless. Max answered messages of which there were a fair few, all work was completed in 3 days. No dodgy double glazing type sales pitch, the price was reasonable and literally nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend for anyone in East Anglia. I checked them out thoroughly, they passed all our tests and they came up trumps. Can highly recommend @Square1 Installations Ltd.

I dealt with Max for the preliminaries and Ollie made sure installation and commissioning was carried out quickly and smoothly. I’ve dealt with many contractors in the past both personally and professionally, and it was a refreshing change to have these guys arrive when they said they would and carry out their work in a ‘hassle free way’. The initial advice I received was good and helpful, and the electrical installation was well arranged, neat and efficiently executed. We are now producing our own power and look forward to considerably reduced running cost ‘going forward’. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Square1 and wish the guys every success in the future.

We've done the research, so you don't have to. For solar panels go to Square1. Max, Oliver and John were absolutely excellent. We have had some bad experiences in the past. The original installer was terrible and went bust. When the battery developed a fault it was extremely difficult to get help and another installer gave us very poor information. They told us both the battery and the inverter needed replacing because of water ingress and it would cost around £5,000. They also said the system was unsafe and we should switch it off. We questioned the water ingress and they then said it might not be that at all. We contacted Square1 because we weren’t confident about the other installer and wanted a second opinion. We're so glad we did. Within an hour Oliver had made the system safe but still usable, arranged for a free replacement battery as the old one was still under warranty and confirmed the inverter was fine. Within a week the work, which cost £1,500 including 2 additional panels, was done. It also included an MSC certificate which we had been trying to get for 3 years. So we can finally get paid the export tariff. Square1 are, in my opinion, the best option for solar panels and we spoken to several firms in the last 3 years. As i said at the start, We're done the research, so you don't have to. Go to Square1.

We decided in the last week of January 2024 that we wanted to investigate getting a solar installation. We had a quote from our energy provider and 2 different companies that friends recommended because they had used, one of those companies was Square1 Installations. Max visited us on a Saturday morning because we were both working all week, he looked at what he might be able to install, asked what we wanted to achieve and 2 days later we had a quote. Their price was the most competitive but they also came across as competent, professional and friendly. We accepted the quote and two and a half weeks later the scaffolding went up and the next day the installation was underway. The guys who installed it, John and Charlie were excellent, unfortunately working in the wind and rain to the point where they were soaked but they persevered and got it all done. The electrical work was also completed professionally and the whole project was overseen and monitored by Ollie. We have ended up with 8 black panels which look great on the roof (with bird protection too), an inverter and battery fitted in the loft. The app to monitor it all is great too, allowing us to see when we are generating from the panels, storing electricity in the battery and running the house from energy we have generated or having to draw from the grid. Buying our solar installation from Square1 Installations was a great choice in our opinion. It was like dealing with friends, they have been happy to answer any questions we have and we are very pleased our friends recommended them. We in turn are very happy to recommend them and using Square1 is a decision we are very happy with. I should also mention that we have paid in full for the system yet they still monitor it every day for us and answer any questions we have about how it works and how we can tweek it. We will let the system run for a while now and then see about adding an additional battery which will definitely charge to 100% during the summer, we will then generate revenue by selling energy back to the grid via Octopus Thank you Max, Ollie and all the team for excellent service from the start and on an ongoing basis.

Max, Oliver and team have been a pleasure to deal with from the very start to the finish of the install, we’ve just had 16 panels installed along side a 5kva inverter/charger and topped with enough batteries to run the house for the day. All of our questions were answered quickly and efficiently, between Ollie and Max, we were made to feel at ease and completely reassured that all our needs were met and that we understood the app used to see the energy made and used. I can’t recommend these guys enough, and the package that’s been installed now, meets the needs we requested.

Max and Oliver and the team provided an outstanding ground mounted solar system for our home. We have had teething problems along the way, but nothing that wasn't solved. I can't state how good Square I Installations are. With all of the certifications for installation and years of combined experience, I can only recommend them to anyone thinking of getting an installation.
