We had an OHME Home Pro Charger fitted by McNallys today. Once the order had gone through, the installation was done very promptly. Connor the EV electrician was very “can do” and did an excellent job…….I wasn’t looking forward to having the work done, but am very pleased with the end result!

Straight forward and pleasant installation

The installer was on time, friendly and explained what was going to happen before he got to work. It was quicker than I expected, with minimal bother. He did a perfect job and tidied up afterwards.

Installed our myzappi charger, really reasonable price and Gary installed it with minimal fuss and mess, even did some further safety checks and fixes when he found some issues on testing. Brilliant company, would highly recommend.

BE AWARE. Very dodgy company, i have placed my order to get ev charger fitted 6 weeks before I collect my car , I have supplied them with every single details of what they requested before they go ahead and quote me ( photos, videos and floor plan etc.) , we both agreed on the price and the date of installation. Within the 6 weeks time I have called them a few times to make sure they are still going ahead with installation on the agreed date, each time they have confirmed it. On the day of installation I have picked up my EV and expected the engineer to turn up , which he did , but told me he can't do it , he needs more cable , need 2 man , he will be back 10 days time , charge me more money, all sort of excuses, I have called the company Mcnally ev , they haven't even apologised or try to make it up , they said I should go with someone else . If I was you I would not waste my time with them.

McNally EV installed our EV charger and we couldn't be happier. From quotation to installation, a seamless process. Nicky and his team were able to offer us advice on the best system for us, using the British Gas free charging tariff and his installation team were both helpful and accommodating, arriving on time and completing a super neat installation. We would highly recommend.

I was given this company to install my new Ohme charger... Waited over a month just to receive a call on the Friday before the Monday that it was due that they weren't coming. The lady on the phone was rude and refused to help out in any way. Ohme have switched me to someone else who has already done this for me no issues at all. I do not recommend

I had no choice who I had my motobility…

I had no choice who I had my motobility ev charger fitted, but I would never use this company, firstly the so there fitters were rushing and left my bungalow in a mess, took pictures to show motobility how they left a real mess, iam a disabled veteran and I had to get a friend to clean there mess up Yesterday my local council came to check there work and told me they did not do it right Dangerous was the word and a local electrician is coming to make it safe I have sent pictures to motobility uk who hopefully won't use this company, also the firm that contracts this comp any is called ohme and they could not care less about customers as they Have the motobility uk contract to supply but things change,avoid at all cost.

Was an easy application

Was an easy application, Chantelle sorted everything for me from start to finish. The installer was very efficient and sorted moving my POD point from one address to the other and only took a couple of hours to sort and was always on hand when I needed them.

100% Recommend.

Amazing - Gave me a rough cost of Puredrive battery and Solar panels, based on the information I had provided. They promptly came out after and completed a pre site survey and within a few weeks all were install. The official quote was only slightly more than the guide price and all of the office team were fantastic. Highly Recommended - Looking forward to see the dramatic change in my electric bill. Tried to buy British

Tried to buy British, Puredrive, but this preferred installer failed to even give a quote. E form they sent did not upload information (2 hours wasted) consequently copied all information to word document and submitted - informed information received and their design team would respond - nothing!!! Very disappointed have now gone with Sonnen battery + panels through SolarCentric - early stages but very professional front and reviews give confidence in the installation. It's a shame I would have liked to give a British manufacturer support.

Very professional neat install .Would recommend to anyone looking for Zappi installation where you happen to be on a looped supply. Great service and customer care. Would not hesitate to recomend

Poor experience, stay away

My experience has been extremely unpleasant. Office staff was polite and responsive, but the installation which matters, was poorly done. My brick was damaged, things were left dusty and dirty, solar wire left wrapped around the mains board instead of chanelling,the exterior hole was left to elements and not even sealed among others. On top of this, the installer was extremely rude and used bad language.Stay away at all costs, do not install with this company.

Unhappy customer

My experience with this company has unfortunately been a truly unpleasant one. They are not as specialised in ev chargers as they claim to be. Last October, after sending the requested details of my property to McNally for best installation of the charger, 6 weeks later they recommended and installed a great unit but the cable was too short (the installation spot was decided by the engineer as my preferred spot was deemed not ideal by the engineer). I was having to reverse the car close up to the front door to charge it. This should have been my cue to find an other installer who knew what they were doing. Following a series of complaint calls, they recommended a much expensive charger which I was prepared to pay for as long as it was fit for purpose and adequate for my property. 4 months later, they came back to swap the chargers. I immediately made payment but about a month later, they sent another invoice charging me separately for another installation when what their engineer did was swap the chargers. Oh, by the way, the new charger came with a longer cable and charges the car but does it's own thing as it constantly loses wi-fi connection. It’s a lot more expensive as it has features that I do not need like working with solar panels which I do not have. My general impression is that I was made to pay for their inadequacy and poor assessment given that they called themselves specialists. Customer support was unhelpful, quick to send repeated invoices but ignores to send payment acknowledgement.

I had a Rolec home charger fitted by…

I had a Rolec home charger fitted by MacNally 4 years ago, the fitter drove of and left me with no electric. Last September the charger stopped working and I was told by MacNallys it would need a new contact unit, and would be done by December this didn’t happen I called 4 times January and February and was told on each occasion I would receive a call back this also didn’t happen eventually I got a call. My part turned up in March and an electrician turned up to fit it all seemed well I left my car on charger overnight, in the morning unplugged and the front panel of the charger almost came completely off, upon further inspection I found out of the 6 retainer screws only three had been replaced and one of them was loose. I emailed MacNally to complain but got no response.

Highly recommended

EV charging is completely new technology to us and were extremely pleased with the service provided by McNally EV right from the initial enquiry through to installation. They were very professional, thorough, helpful and explained clearly all aspects of this new technology. They dealt promptly with any issues with our electric provider, completed any forms required and followed these up on our behalf.... they were great. We would, without hesitation, recommend McNally EV as we received a First Class service from them, the product is great and our installation was carried out without any issues. We are so confident with this company that we have decided to use them to install solar panels. McNally EV put the customer first and give you confidence you are employing a good company.

Disappointed

Overall a disappointing experience. Charger fitted late October 21 and by February 22 it had stopped working. Took 3 weeks for an appointment for an engineer to come out for him to arrive with no parts so could not resolve issue. Being told that they always have issues with the type of charger I have and wouldn't recommend, didn't really help the situation! Now back in a queue for parts to be ordered, delivered and another appointment to be booked. Meanwhile I've got a £1000 worth of kit on the wall that doesn't work and I'm having to charge my car from a plug out the front door. Customer service is really disappointing - very little interest in resolving the issue or even recognising my dissatisfaction. I appreciate things don't happen immediately but even an update call would be appreciated.

Long term review here. I had a Charger installed by McNally well over a year ago, and their service was absolutely incredible. Now the best part about this company is what follows. I had a small issue with the charger where the unit would trip out. Turned out the unit itself had a small fault in it. Nothing to do with McNally EV. However, McNally were straight in contact with me and organised a replacement unit to be installed free of charge, and came out within a few days to replace it. The work was carried out in a matter of minutes and the lads that came were friendly and professional. This is the kind of long term service that we should really be going after. I would happily pay more to have that guarantee that if things go wrong, McNally EV will come out and sort it, even after almost 2 years. Thank you to all the team at McNally.

McNallys fitted an original Rolec…

McNallys fitted an original Rolec wall charger back in April 2019 under the governments scheme. We have had some ongoing issues with the unit of late but McNallys have always been easy to deal with and honest and upfront about everything. They no longer sell Rolecs probably due to unreliability issues but are still doing everything they can to support customers like myself which I appreciate. I highly recommend these guys for all your EV charging needs at home or at work

Zappi 2 installation

Zappi 2 with myenergi hub and harvi installed. Excellent support from Rachel and Nicola in setting up installation. Helpful and informative pre installation site visit. Reasonable quote and installed the next day. Very professional fitting from Aiden, Joe and Tom. Would recommend to anyone looking for Zappi installation.

This company is not trustworthy

This company is not trustworthy. Be very careful. Their prices and quotations change frequently. If they visit you for a proper quote, they will charge £85 ahead of that visit, then double the quotation, then tell you your £85 is non refundable. No one in the office, including the director Mr McNally would have any sense of honesty or customer service relations. My money is lost.

What a great company. McNally Electrical were recommended to me, and I can't praise them enough. From Rachel & Nicola in the office, to the guys who came to install my EV charger. If you are looking for a company to install your EV charger I can't recommend these guys highly enough. Rachel & Nicola could not have been more helpful when arranging my booking, and answering my questions pre-installation. The installation team were quick, efficient, polite and did not leave a mess. Rolec Car Charger installed using OLEV Grant

Ordered a Rolec smart home charger using the OLEV grant, and McNally were the local electrician selected for the job. Communications were fast and polite, the price was as predicted and the install date was very quick. The job only took a couple of hours in total, and they were happy to demo the car charger to me. I don't have an EV yet, so not able to verify that it charges the car/works. I'll update this review if there are any problems.

I contacted McNally to have my Rolec SmartEV charge point fitted, I can highly recommend them as the whole process from start to finish was quick and painless. They took care of all the OLEV grant paperwork. The engineer attended on-time and installed the unit to a very high standard. I wonderful installation and I cannot say a bad thing at all. Very please and will no doubt be using McNally again in the future. Keep up the good work folks!

MacNally fitted an EO Mini Pro at my house. The engineer was a nice guy and he did a really neat job; barely any cabling showing outside the garage and the earth rod fitted inside. There was initially a slight problem charging the car, but they resolved it quickly and I am very happy with the job.

I'm so glad I decided to ignore the freak one-star review. McNally's installed my EV charger professionally and efficiently and both engineers and office staff were a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended.

Came back quickly with a very competitive quote for an EV Charger (unlike the more expensive Pod Point who I had to chase for a quote!) and also had a fast install time. Answered all my queries and friendly guys turned up on time to install. Did a very tidy job and the Rolec EV 7kW charger has worked perfectly so far (touch wood). Only slight downside was that the invoice didn't match the quote but they corrected it as soon as I pointed this out!

McNally installed a Rolec EV charger for me under the OLEV scheme. The on-line method of submitting the application, documents and photos of the existing supply, distribution panel and charger location was simple and my additional queries were promptly answered by e-mail. The installers fully answered my questions and did a good and neat job. I would be very happy to use McNally again. Thanks

I chose McNally because they’d responded to my initial enquiry quickly. Whenever I called they knew what they were talking about and who they were talking to. Uploading photos on the application form was a good idea and saved a pre installation visit and/or a longer job. The electricians who fitted the box were friendly, polite and left no mess. They checked exactly where it was to go before starting. The job was done quickly and efficiently. They showed me how to operate it, what to do if it trips etc. I probably won’t need another car charging box but if I did I’d use them again.

This would have been a 5 star rating as they got me a quick installation date, the engineer was prompt (4 hours early ) he was polite and got on with the job. It turned to a one star rating a week later when the dodgy equipment he installed nearly set fire to the house! I had to call out an emergency electrician to make it safe, I left two voice messages with mcnally but they didn't respond and when I did get hold of them they said "you're the guy that left the messages". The way they dealt with the matter was absolutely disgusting and very disappointing! They fitted a new unit, but never gave a explanation why it had happened. I've not heard from them with a follow up call or apology! Guys you could have burnt my house down!!! As it is now we don't use the installed equipment unless we are around to keep an eye on it...... We have remediated the issue for you and reinstalled a new double checked consumer unit which is perfectly safe and you can safely use whilst you are not there. I have to say that the whole experience went smoothly and was very professional. I submitted the required E-documents and photos, an appointment was arranged. Unfortunately the engineer had problems with his van and was delayed in his expected arrival time, but he kept me fully informed by phone. The installation of the charging point was carried out quickly despite very cold weather. I was subsequently invoiced for the work and paid promptly as I was so impressed. Would recommend!

I rang a couple of charger installers prior to McNallys. Nicky (Director) came out to do the quote, he was very knowledgable about the chargers and the government grants available to me. He explained everything in a way I understood, to help me make an informed decision, no jargon and no "hard-sell". I opted for a custom colour unit, which had to be ordered. it arrived quickly and the installation went very smoothly, took one day, bearing in mind some "excavation" had to be done to accommodate the cable for the unit, this was an excellent timescale! Nicky and his colleague did a great job, cleaned up well and since then I have had absolutely no issues with the unit! The cost was much less than other quotations, which was a bonus! Would highly recommend McNallys.
