We chose a Heron PV/battery installation following a poor customer service experince with Octopus. Heron were a breath of fresh air.... any queries answered in minutes. When the installation was undertaken the workmanship was excellent and the after sales help was spot-on.

Karl and Jamie went above and beyond…

Karl and Jamie went above and beyond when installing our solar panels. Karl fixed some broken tiles on the roof he discovered and didn't want to take any payment for it. They were efficient, worked hard and installed the panels very quickly. We have no hesitation in recommending Heron Electrical. Fantastic service.

Service at it Best

I cannot recommend this company more. Outstanding customer service. They installed my Solar panels in May 2024. December 2025 the bird guard failed. A roofer was sent the next day. A professional and friendly installer, Bird Guard fixed.

Domestic solar panels and battery installation

Had solar panels and battery storage installed by Heron Electrical a few weeks ago. I can’t recommend them enough! The contact throughout the process was excellent. Just before my installation date, I was contacted to say a part of the setup wasn’t available due to a supply issue, but was told the rest of my system would be installed so we were up and running while the part arrived. This involved an extra visit at no extra cost, which was much appreciated. The installation itself was a very neat job, and the system is working brilliantly. If you’re looking to get a system fitted, you won’t be disappointed! 👍

Fabulous affordable service from start to finish

Fabulous service from start to finish. From my initial contact which was very professional and friendly . Agreeing a mutually agreeable installation date and the engineer arriving as schedule was fantastic. The engineer ( think Jamie) was very knowledgable and efficient. During the whole extra battery installation he was careful and respectful of my property also keeping me fully updated. On completion he tidied up and removed every last shred of waste and left the area tidier than when he started. In passing during him showing me everything was functioning correctly I mentioned , prior to his install , that one of my specialist battery apps was not functioning correctly on my phone/ iPad . He took the time to listen and investigate culminating in him resolving the pre installation annoying software issue. Yet again David and Ben’s passion for customer care , no matter how small the customer , has shone thru.

Unbelievable service rectifying another suppliers mistakes.

Heron installed my panels and batteries almost 3 years ago and did a splendid job then. However, earlier this week I had a car charger installed by Octopus Energy and when their electricians left I found I could not charge nor discharge my storage batteries. Calls to Octopus were met with a response that it could take 10 days to reply to my fault report. Anyway, I emailed Heron about another matter and mentioned the above problem and immediately and without me asking Heron sent an engineer to look into the issue. Heron's electrician was on my premises for about an hour, but in that time fixed the issue and left me with a fully working system again. I am still waiting for a response from Octopus, 5 days after I raised the issue with them. This is customer service well beyond expectations and even more so when you consider that Heron was aware that I had gone to a different supplier for the car charger. I will certainly not be considering anyone else should I add to my pv system in the future.

Edit The company got in touch and pointed out I had made a mistake. A same named company, similar logo and same coloured van, was responsible. This is my error, apologies.

I’ve got my solar panel and powerwall installed by them via Egg Solar. Very professional, great communication throughout the installation, solid and clean work.

The whole process from initial enquiry to completion was handled very efficiently by the team at Wetherby. Booked dates for the process were adhered to. Karl and Jo did the work over 2 days and all went to plan. They worked very well together and there was no disruption to our routine. I would thoroughly recommend Heron Electrical to anyone contemplating solar panels and associated kit.

I've had a battery installed by Heron recently and they have been brilliant. From the initial enquiry, through the install and final certificate supply 10/10 service.

My god there good!

Very efficient, very clean and bloody quick at what they do! My install was done over 2 days but it was only 2 mornings really, Travis was there on day one installing the battery and inverter which he had done within 3 hours. Day 2 the roofers (Karl and Paul, along with Travis turned up at 7:30am, got cracking and by1pm I was running on solar, the guys explained what they were about to do in detail, made sure my questions were answered then cracked on! The result is 10 panels on the roof, 20.16kw battery and 5 kw inverter all fitted in under 9 hours. These guys work hard, work fast but also take the time to answer questions, the outcome is a perfect installation professionally done with minimal disruption to daily life! Keep up the good work guys!

I would just like to give a brief but very positive review for Heron Electrical regarding my recent Battery and Inverter Installation. The Installation process was well explained and carried out with a minimum of disruption to my day. All queries that I had along the way were handled quickly and clearly (Shout-out to Sue Morris). I had a 10 kw solar panel system fitted with a Tesla PW3 and Zappi charger. The team completed my install in 2 days as scheduled. They were all fantastic and knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I had no issues with the install which was very clean and tidy install and the system has been working perfectly. I would definatley recommend them when getting a solar install. They very helpfully came out prior to the install upon request and talked through helpfully the cable run so that I could prepare and clear out the area they needed as my meter tails are under my stairs in the middle of the house. This was very helpful and didn't mean a mad dash last minute. During the install the team was very helpful in communicating when the power would go off which was needed give we work from home and they did so for a short period of 30/45 minutes. My install was at the beginning of February so that I could see how it worked for a period before I gave a honest review as I knew how helpful this was for me when going through the process. I went through EGG Cracking Energy for the equipment and pre install arrangement who outsourced to Heron, which I was worried due to Internet concerns of outsourced work, however I had a very good experience which I'm grateful for. Thank you to Kieran and the team who were fantastic and I have no hesitation in giving them 5* rating.

I had an excellent experience with Tom and Alex for my electrical and solar installation! Tom was fantastic with the electrical work, handling everything with precision and care. He made sure everything was up to code and explained the process thoroughly. Alex, who took care of the solar installation, was equally impressive. He was highly skilled and ensured my solar system was set up for maximum efficiency. Both were incredibly professional, punctual, and friendly. The whole process was smooth, and I’m already seeing the benefits of my new setup. I highly recommend Tom and Alex for any electrical or solar needs!

Fantastic install by the guys from Heron installing solar panels and batteries provided by Egg. All of the guys who worked on the install were on time, polite, friendly, and tidied up after themselves. The install itself looks very neat and is working flawlessly - couldn't be happier. I would happily recommend to anyone looking to get solar panels and batteries installed, they did a great job.

First service of PV system installed by another provider. Easy to book by Hayley in the office. Service was expertly carried out by Harry who answered all my questions and highlighted a minor issue. Would definitely recommend and would have no hesitation in using Heron Electrical again. Thank you

Tom from Heron completed the electrical work for our solar and battery install. He was great. The position of our fuse board is a tricky one and he had a job to chase cables through the house between all the different components. Tom carefully explained the options to me and answered any questions I had. He worked really hard across two days and has done an excellent job. Overall though, he just a really great guy - polite, friendly, happy to answer questions, he cleaned up after himself etc. Would highly recommend.

We had solar panels fitted to our house today, and the fitters Kieron and Carl were amazing. They were professional, friendly, and understanding. Everything was explained, and carried out very with great care, their work is immaculate. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these Guys.

Solar & Giv Energy AIO Install

Heron have recently completed the install of our new solar panels & battery storage to our new build. From first point of contact to final handover they have been fantastic, Ben was great throughout covering all the questions that i had (of which there were many) nothing was too much trouble to run through and answer. Their pricing was fair and transparent throughout an they made every effort to make sure that costs were not added where they didn’t need to be. Sue made sure that everything in terms of the DNO application went through very smoothly, and kept me up to date regularly with the status of the application. Everything was carried out on time and as agreed. The lads that came to carry out the install were great and you could tell that they took pride in the job that they were doing. Kieran in particular took time to make sure that i was happy with everything in terms of placement and that i knew how everything was set up and installed. Even with a slight hiccup in respect of the battery spec along the way this was sorted out really quickly an without issue. Overall, Heron Electrical are a great example for how a company can deal with a complex service and through a really high level of customer service and communication make it a straightforward, easy process. I would have no hesitation in recommending Heron Electrical to friends and family and will no doubt use them again should we need anything in the future!

Once again delighted I selected Herons…

Once again delighted I selected Herons to install my solar system. A while ago I noticed a minor issue with my , circa 18 month old installation , and contacted Herons . They quickly investigated and diagnosed the issue . Then within weeks replaced , at no charge , the item generating the issue. The engineer turned up at the agreed time slot and professionally replaced what was required. As always has been the case he did a very neat and tidy job. Plus checking before he left that I was happy and had no queries / issues. Well done to the whole team from first contact to resolving my concern

I have recently had an installation of 18x solar panels with 13.5kWh Givenergy AIO & Gateway and had an excellent experience with Heron Electrical. From initial enquiry the process was extremely smooth, Ben came out to survey the requirements and discuss/explain the benefits of different systems and set ups with honest advice and followed up with a detailed proposal for the two options we discussed. Sue kept me informed regularly of the status of my application to gain approval from the DNO for the system to be installed (which Heron took care of). The approval was obtained and installation commenced on the exact date provided right at the start of the process. The installation team led by Tom were hard working, knowledgeable and clearly took pride in their work, leaving it neat and tidy afterwards. I would not hesitate to recommend Heron Electrical.

Heron Electrical have just installed solar panels and batteries for us. We have had exceptional service from start to finish. All communication has been great and questions answered quickly - thanks Sue and Ben. Despite us being a fair distance away everyone from the Surveyor to the Scaffolder to the Installers arrived when they said they would. The team installing did so in horrendous rain and wind. They also had a very long day but still remained professional. All paperwork received within an hour of the job being finished. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Heron Electrical and their teams.

We used Heron for solar and battery installation. They're a family firm and they really put in the extra effort during and after it was installed to make sure everything was working. It took a day and a half to install. I'd recommend them in a heartbeat. Another family member used the same firm and had the same experience, as have others in our local community. At our current rate, we will have paid off the investment in 3-4 years.

Amazing customer service from Heron Electrical! We recently had a Tesla wall charger fitted at our property and the entire installation went incredibly smoothly. From the engineer arriving early to explaining every step of the install clearly, everything went so much better than we could have hoped for. It was a difficult project, as our house can only be described as weird and wonky, but you somehow managed to install them beautifully. I appreciated the communication throughout the install, even when things weren't quite going to plan (no fault of Heron, purely our dodgy roof and wiring). Friends recommended other installers, but I went with Heron and I am glad I did. There was no sales pressure and both David and Rachael were very approachable and helpful before and after I agreed to Heron installing my solar system (16 panels, inverter and 3 batteries). The installation took place on the day agreed and from my point of view hassle free. All the required paperwork was registered with Northern Power and my energy supplier and within 12 days I was able to apply to export electricity generated to the grid. I have no hesitation in recommending Heron Electric for solar system installation.
