The survey, planning and installation went very well, although we had the impression that communications between GEC and the sub-contractors were not as good as they should be. Documentation and certification of the system took several requests and weeks to come through. After service has been disappointing; (1) the system stopped working and we had to open up the box and reset things following phone instructions; (2) after a change of internet service provider we were told it's not their problem and been given obsolete guidance to try to get the wifi connection re-established.

Never rush to write a review Real character of a such customer facing company is exposed when you come across any issues. Unfortunately, all the reviews that you might read here are from people who had installation and did not come across any issues. Which is when the review should really be written. I have been dealing or trying to get responses from GEC to resolve an issue caused by their poor workmanship and quality of materials used for installation. They were very swift with scaffolders, engineer installers etc available asas deposit was paid in June 2023. This was around 10k in total Now in Feb March since they were quite sunny in Newcastle this year I noticed drop in power and notified GEC, kept calling them and finally they concluded entire array of panels not working. It has been a very stressful ride since, hardly any phone communication no emails. I have tried calling them every single day so far and they say I have not given them enough time still they wont call back after saying they will communicate by end of day. But have stopped now as I have realized every time I call they come up with an random excuse. Now they have a very good one that they have applied for a license to remove bird nests under my panels. You may wonder how birds nested, in Feb 2024 I complained about birds on roof which they sent a person who took pics showing caging is installed as you have paid for it and don't see any issues. Case closed Now with this March episode, an electric engineer is finally and miraculously arranged who confirmed that caging is missing from one side of panels where birds have gone under and cable had burnt causing entire unit to go down. He disconnected the panel to bring rest up and GEC says case has not worsened as rest units are working. Bear in mind GEC wanted to quote and charge me additionally to remediate this cage related issue which I paid for in the installation addon and I declined this extra charge now because this should be fixed under warranty. Now finally I have scaffolding up since 22 May and no word since. I don't want to name people here because they could be just employees and if the higher ups don't care they won't either Careful of such cowboy companies and dont rush to write a review, wait until you need them to fix something and they will show their real face.

The installation of my solar panels was first class, starting with Sophie who did all the organising for the job to progress including the scaffolding. Mathew and his team worked tirelessly but with the highest standard of workmanship to install all my equipment. It could not have been the easiest to install as everything was outside on the roof and gable wall, but it was a very neat and tidy installation and also a mention for John who commissioned the work who again worked at a very high standard. All in all I am extremely happy with everything over the 2 days and can highly recommend GEC Power.

I have been very impressed by GEC Power. From the first visit through to the installation they have been very professional and knowledgeable. The system has been running for 5 weeks with no issues and is performing better than expected. I would highly recommend GEC Power.

I was feeling apprehensive about using GEC after reading a few of the reviews, however, I went with my gut instinct and decided to use GEC. I feel like the least I could do after having such an amazing experience, is leave a decent review because not only was the service exceptional, but I felt at ease after speaking to the wonderful team! The assistant that reassured me was called Sophie and she helped me step by step with what would happen, she let me choose the date that best worked for me and was very polite. I shall be recommending this company to several friends and family in future!

Would think long and hard before dealing with GEC Power.Had solar panels fitted that part seemed to go OK.Things went downhill thereafter. Their customer communications protocol was utterly appalling. They wouldn't reply to emails,they wouldn't reply to phone calls and when they did answer the phone you got continuously fobbed off with a host of excuses as to how they couldn't deal with the issue. I was looking for info on the solar power app. An all round dreadful experience.

I would never use this company! We asked for a quote in October last year and we’re promised if we ordered it would be very speedy and installation would be in the Autumn. Promises made were not kept and this was the theme throughout. Initially told by the Wales area manager that we could proceed without a licence from the grid - this was not right and a senior person in HQ put him straight. There is too much to write here but my roof was badly damaged resulting in a bad leak. The whole experience was very upsetting and even now I have a battery sitting on my garage floor with the wires exposed and vulnerable to being damaged. To be perfectly honest I just wanted rid of the company. I feel the whole thing was done by inexperienced workmen and two of them were actually sacked after day one of the installation which eventually took place in late March this year. It took over a week to complete despite being told it was a days work. Very unprofessional company.

I had 9 panels 3 batteries and inverter fitted. I speak as I find and Megan and her team were exceptional. Having looked into solar fir 2 years I thought I had everything sussed 6 companies 6 quotes 3 visits and Gec engineer came out had a look and took me through it he even made points I'd overlooked which were so obvious but glad he did. Scaffolders turned up Friday and installers came Monday 5/6/23 their work was quick efficient and very neat . The installers took me through the app I was done and dusted . Scaffolding went this morning and Megan who's looked after me kept me in the loop and considering I was a nerve customer I can only speak as I find and they were exceptional from scaffolders engineer and especially the installers and Megan thankyou.

I've just had an excellent experience with GEC Power for my home solar and battery installation. I chose them after analysing quotes from many other suppliers and my selection was based on the cost (obviously) but also on the specific equipment (Sunsynk) they offer and the technical knowledge of their team. Right from the initial site visit + consultation all the way through to actual installation and then some after install support, GEC Power was right on the ball with their professionalism, efficiency and promptness. They stuck to all their promised dates throught the process and my system was up and running within 2 months of initial contact. There was a fault detected in the inverter on day 2 but they immediately sent someone to diagnose.A replacement was ordered and re-fitted within 2 weeks. All is fine since then. Special mention to Megan, Taylor, Frankie and Dave W for their excellent support during this process.

I had a really good experience with GEC power Megan in the office made sure that everything went according to plan and if I had any questions (which I did) she was always available and either knew the answer or went, found and and got back to me. In relation to the kit they have installed a Foxess system which is working really well. The App is basic which is a good thing and a bad thing, you cant do as much as you can with other systems but its very easy to use and understand what you need to know and need to control. In summary I'm really pleased with the syhstem I have and the service I goit from GEC power

I've recently had solar panels and a battery installed by GEC power and everything has gone really smoothly, from quotes and surveys, through to install and then post install. The products themselves are great, and any queries I've had have been dealt with quickly.

Solar panels and battery installed. Cant fault the service. Very competitive price. After ordering the system, it was installed within 6 weeks. Took a day for installation to complete. Good communication throughout with the team, they have been helpful, efficient and friendly. Shout out to Megan and Dan for all their help from HQ. Installation team also professional and polite. System is working great. Would recommend. :)

Excellent installation, service and support. Very competent survey from Harley who explained all aspects of solar panel systems and great customer service from Megan. The installation was trouble free and has worked exactly as planned. Extremely professional and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

I have recently had 12 Solar Panels, a 5.6KW inverter and 10Kw battery installed by GEC Power. In total I had quotes from 7 different companies. GEC Power’s quote wasn’t the cheapest nor the most expensive, though they did price match. What made the difference, and convinced me to use them, was the sales person. He was different to other companies’ representatives, in that he listened to my needs and advised me accordingly, rather than pushing another system. All of the promises made were kept and the installation went smoothly and according to plan. A minor hiccup was that one of the batteries hadn’t been delivered, the installers didn’t make it into a drama, they simply popped out and picked one up from the wholesaler. Once installation was complete, I got a good handover from the installers who went through the system and the app and the scaffolding was taken down later the same day. I would certainly recommend GEC Power and would definitely use them again.

Had a Solar Panel system installed by GEC Power following a reccommendation by a family member who had used them. Very efficient service from beginning to end. The team are very knowledgeable and courteous. Install was completed in just one morning. Would highly recommend this company 👍

This was an excellent experience from start to finish. Harley, our salesman, was very knowledgable and able to answer all our varied questions. His understanding of our needs was what prompted us to go with GEC. Once signed up we were fortunate to have Megan as our contact person in the office. She was excellent, checking on progress and there to answer questions and solve issues. The installation team were friendly, efficient and happy to return when we had a couple of minor concerns. Definitely recommend GEC.

The proposal stage for our solar panel installation was extremely efficient & well presented. The installation was performed very quickly and with very little disturbance to the house. The system is working well. I can strongly recommend GEC Power.

I had solar panels fitted. The initial response was prompt, and David the surveyor was very good, which persuaded me to use GEC Power. The installation team were excellent too. My problems were with documentation. I didn't know that I would receive a handover pack, so was worried what I would give to my energy supplier. Various bits and pieces were sent, but I didn't receive the full pack until seven weeks after installation. This was also the first time I got any information about how to use the app, which should surely have been sent on installation. Also this leaflet did not apply to the app installed on my phone. I think customers should be told initially that documentation will be coming. and that it may take seven weeks. I recommended GEC to my neighbour when the system was fitted, and I pray she gets a better service.
