Abacus did an excellent job coming when they said with good. engineers and sales. Even when one of their suppliers messed up the delivery of a part of the kit, they resolved the issue and completed the installation neatly and without issues.

Had my heat pump serviced today ( 12 months after install by Abacus ) . Very efficient , lots of useful tips and information.

Installation of an EBAC air source heat pump carried out before Christmas. Cost was the same (after the grant applied) as a new gas boiler. No hard sell, kept all the existing radiators (40 years old), which I will replace over next few years anyway. Odd teething issue, which Abacus sorted quickly. A very solid and tidy installation. House is same temperature all day every day, the only other consideration is thinking ahead to boost hot water for a bath as it takes all the hot water in the cylinder but a quick boost resolved that. Happy to recommend Abacus.

From start to finish the Abacus team were fantastic. We are thrilled with our solar panels and would definitely recommend Abacus to anyone. We are looking forward to benefiting from reduced bills from now on.

Abacus have now completed an Air source heat pump Installation for me. They installed a Nibe SMO S40. This was complex and was done to replace an existing electric heating system in a stone Barn conversion. It was integrated with the existing under floor heating and radiators system and it is operating exactly as they said it would. The installation engineers arrived on time with all the equipment and completed within the projected time. They were extremely knowledgeable and adaptable and didn’t leave until they were sure it was working perfectly. Abacus dealt with all the necessary paperwork and it all went exactly as planned and on time.

No nonsense approach from Michael. Whilst other companies tried to push sub-optimal kit first, then changing their quotes, Mike came over, understood my needs, asked pertinent questions and suggested a solution. And for a decent price. Frequent communication with the office during the process. A small issue with their roofers (external company) being messy but overall positive experience.

A disorganised office?

I had a site survey booked in for 2 December through Ellis. No one turned up at the designated time and I contacted the office the same day, speaking to someone who sounded like a manager. They said they would get one of the sales guys to contact me that day. I'm still waiting...................☹️☹️☹️. Based on the other reviews I presume they do a decent job when they actually get to your house but the poor communication and missed appointment suggest a lack of organisation at their main office, which doesn't inspire confidence. Further to your reply: - I have a text message from Ellis dated Wednesday 20 November at 11.15am confirming the 2 December appointment. - I have a record of a phone call to your office on 2 December at 11.40 You will have access to this information so this should provide you with everything you need.

Why wouldn't you?

I had a meetings with a number of installers. They ranged from being just Salesmen, wanting to sell you their equipment and not being open to a discussion, through to knowledgable practical blokes, prepared to listen. The prices for similar solutions spanned over £6k difference. Do your research, pick your installer. I found Michael, Alex and the team at Abacus absolutely superb. Nothing was too much trouble, everything was explained and there was no pressure sales involved. They kept me informed every step of the way from the initial sales meeting through to the final sign off once the system had been installed. I have no hesitation in recommending the team at Abacus. Abacus helped us out with both ASHP and Solar Panels. Michael was very good at explaining to us in layman's terms and didn't mind answering dozens of questions. Alex is on top of all the necessary paperwork and I felt comfortable at all times in the process. Would recommended without hesitation.

Look no further than Abacus energy solutions

After a lot of research I decided to appoint Abacus for Solar panels, heat pump, water cylinder and batteries. The installation for the heat pump happened in November on a very cold winters day, the install took 2 days and I was without heating for a couple of hours once the gas boiler was disconnected.The Air source heat pump quickly heated the house. Extremely courteous professional tradesmen who worked in the bitter cold. Once the heat pump had been installed the Solar panels were installed a few days later, this was a very quick process to put them on the roof once in place it was over to the electricians who installed the panels and batteries to the mains electric. Again extremely professional and with minimum disruption. Prior to install I switched my energy to octopus who have several energy tariffs for solar export and for heat pumps and electric car charging. I have had my Solar system with heat pump batteries and hot water cylinder for nearly 12 months and it is the best decision I have made. I have saved nearly £2000 on my energy bill and I have been paid nearly £400 for the export of the excess electricity. Abacus energy solutions managed my expectations brilliantly, they under promised and over delivered. In my opinion if you are looking for a company to install solar, heat pumps, water cylinders and batteries, look no further than Abacus

Abacus were the best and helped us when we needed it. We moved into a new house which had an old boiler and in the second week the boiler stopped working. We already had plans to have an air heat source pump fitted. I called Abacus and a few other companies and I felt from the beginning that Abacus were the best fit. Alex and Ellis where great at answering all questions. They offered open and honest advice over the phone which led me to book an appointment with Michael After the appointment with Michael, Abacus realised the urgency of our needs and helped rush through the installation. They helped with all the paperwork for the grants and updated us frequently about all aspects of the the order and installation. The installers that work for Abacus are amazing. They know exactly what they're doing how best to install the systems. Very friendly. Very tidy. You can tell when people are professionals and Abacus are true pros

4.5 Stars - A great company to deal width.

Abacus were an excellent company to deal with, from the outset they were responsive to our questions and concerns and honest about the performance of the system with our house. They sorted the grant ahead of the installation and confirmed the installation date, the installers turned up bright and early and were incredibly respectful of the house and me working from home. They finished most things within three days, coming back to remove the gas flue and some pipe cover at later date (some of the cover was the wrong cover.) The only slight issues were some finishing in the attic and the electrician's choice of wire route which was not ideal but not a disaster. I would give the 4.5 stars, but that's not an option. Otherwise Mike's final inspection helped set up the system to suit our habits and was a good sign off on the experience.

Fantastic installation and service from Michael and his team. They discussed the install before and during the process and the follow up post visit has been excellent, they came back to make sure everything was working correctly. Overall an excellent job, and I really appreciated their professionalism.

Customer service and interaction is one of the hallmarks of Michael’s team. They were professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. The install was clean and tidy and they consulted on the positioning of all the kit to my satisfaction. Follow up service from Michael to make sure everything has been running well has been excellent too.

Fabulous team

The installation team were fabulous and worked outside in conditions I have never seen anyone work in since my old oil rig days working in the North Sea .Nothing was a problem even the bits I was instructed to have ready for them and they were very patient waiting for me Their workmanship was top class and their lagging of the pipe work the neatest I have ever seen .Our house is toasty and kWh useage is very low . If I could give them 11 out of ten I would ! Don’t hesitate to use this company they are top notch

Solar panels and batteries

Michael arrived at our house, gave us some honest advice and helped us make a difficult decision easy, we were happy with the price. Alex from the office kept in contact all the time keeping us informed. when the team arrived to fit the panels and batteries. They were happy polite and extremely hard working all completed in a day. Really clean and tidy great job.

Abacus puts customers needs before profit!

I have been insulating my 1928 semi with the idea that l wanted to get rid of gas, and go for an air sourced heat pump. Micheal came to see me to discuss installing an air sourced heat pump and dissuaded me from installing one! This is because l want to have different ambient temperatures in various areas of my home. He explained that the only way to achieve this is by having different size radiators, and turning radiators down for cooler areas. This reduces the flow and causes the compressor to have to work harder, and to keep switching off and on. How great of Micheal that he dissuaded me. He is an engineer who puts people's needs first, not a salesman. Well done Abacus!

Abacus came very quickly for the site survey and subsequently completed the job efficiently. Incorrect panel brackets were originally supplied but apart from that he only delays were regulatory.

Faultless from beginning of the process to heat coming through the radiators.

Abacus were great from pricing to install. Not many companies like this. Michael came out gave a hassle free price and explained everything. Abacus were the only company that came out priced me and gave good information without me needing to do anything After accepting the price.alex was great. Sorted my grant and installation keeping me I formed through the whole process. The installation was carried out in a timely manner . The nibe air source heat pump is quiet. Heats my water quickly. Need to see if it will heat my home in winter but I'm 100 per cent sure it will

Abacus Energy Solutions I initially made an enquiry regarding Air sourced heat pump (ASHP) ( Green homes scheme) with Abacus Energy Solutions because I always try and support local businesses. They responded within a couple of hours and chatted on the phone with lots of knowledge but explained things in terms I could understand. After a few more days of consideration I contacted them to arrange a site visit/survey. They attended at the time and date arranged which doesn’t always happen with other companies! Michael did the survey and answered my questions, as at this point I was still unsure if replacing our gas boiler with an ASHP was the correct decision. It is only now when the installation is complete and been operational for almost 4 of the coldest weeks that I can really appreciate that Michael’s advice was spot on. Unfortunately my mindset was still stuck in the gas combo boiler operations! With ASHP the operation system is as Michael forecast different in that it operates 24 hours and warms the whole building. We don’t have underfloor heating but quite a few “double” radiators. Anyway just trust Abacus Energy Solutions - we did - and we are delighted. The installation went smoothly and I know I’m a bit of a pain when it comes to neat and professional workmanship. Any worries on that front just melted away. It’s hard to believe that our whole house is toasty warm and yes I’m keeping an eye on my electricity use. My estimate after 4 weeks of use is probably very similar to my previous energy bills including gas but the difference is we are comfortably warm 24 hours and using clean green energy for our heating. I would like to thank Abacus Energy Solutions for their extremely professional advice from first contact to telling me not to hesitate in contacting them after the installation was finished if I have any questions.

Having had several quotes, both from home surveys , online forms and phone conversations, when Michael arrived from Abacus he was a breath of fresh air. Clearly experienced, he designed a system so brilliant in its simplicity and convenience I had no qualms about placing an order for an Air Source Heat Pump to replace the gas boiler in our Millennium build detached house. We used the Government Boiler Upgrade Scheme Grant which Abacus administered, all I had to do was complete a credit check style online form for Ofgem. A date was given for installation. The installation team, Ashley & Chris, were courteous, hard working and very clean workers. Carpets and floors were protected at all times and to my amazement all the previous loft tanks, cylinders, pipes & pumps were removed without a scratch or scuff anywhere. The work was completed within two long days, leaving me with just a few tidy up jobs of bricking up the hole left by the removal of the gas boiler and a bit of lagging work. I confess to being a tad fussy. The system works really well. All the equipment is in my integral garage, a master stroke of design by Michael. Compact and quiet. The house is cosy, water is hot. The outdoor unit is also quiet, pipes are in insulated ducting, very neat indeed. The staff at Abacus, James, Michael, Kersha and Joe, are all friendly and approachable. I asked lots of questions before, during and after installation. Joe called and checked the whole system after a few days, resolved a minor issue of a cool radiator and made some adjustments. He was happy to talk me through the systems settings too and improved my knowledge considerably. I can absolutely recommend Abacus if you are interested in low carbon heating systems. Abacus have also installed a 9.5 kw GivEnergy home storage battery which allows me to maximise my off peak energy tariff, further reducing my bills.

I’m really pleased with the standard of the work and I would certainly recommend Abacus. Michael came out initially and was very helpful with his advice. There was no salesman like pushiness. Before the engineers arrived I had an idea how I hoped the solar panels, battery, inverter, and gubbins need to be placed and the wires taken from outside to inside. Without any input from me, the ‘Lead’ Engineer suggested the best way to do this and it matched my idea totally. All was completed in one day, the workmanship was excellent, and any holes that had needed to be drilled for the wiring looked as if they were part of the original house build. Consequently when they left, other than a little dusting, there was little for me to do to tidy things. Post installation there have been no problems with the system and all I’ve done is watch the app to see the kWh the panels are generating. The only negative, but it would be unfair to remove a star for this, is the communications and updates regarding the wait for the installation were not forthcoming unless I rang up to ask.

Good equipment professionally installed at a reasonable price

After contacting a number of companies some time ago, I chose Abacus Energy Solutions Limited to replace my gas boiler (which was beyond the end of its service life) with a Nibe air source heat pump supported by a GivEnergy battery system (I had solar panels installed some years ago). From the potential suppliers I considered, Abacus provided me with clear and detailed information on the system it proposed and how it would effectively fit into my dormer bungalow. Other companies were vague on what I would get, proposed components that had inferior reviews and/or proposed an approach requiring significantly more work and disruption to my home. Michael and Alex of Abacus also gave me confidence in the company as they were readily available to answer the many detailed questions I had; demonstrating sound knowledge of the products Abacus had selected and planned to install. Prior to the agreed date of installation, Abacus kept my informed of what was happening in the background and sub-contractors engaged by Abacus arrived to undertake the 3-day install as planned. Although it was an intense 3 days, the installation went to plan with the sub-contactors respecting my home and clearing up after their work. I chose for the installation work take place in June so will have to wait until the winter months to confirm that the system is capable of heating my home effectively. I can however confirm that the heat pump is delivering ample domestic hot water and, as expected in the summer months, the GivEnery battery system is harvesting my solar generation and meeting my electrical needs without need to recharge overnight on my off-peak tariff. Now that the installation is complete, I will continue to use Abacus through its care plan for the system’s annual service and any technical support I need for the system. I highly commend Abacus Energy Soluttions Limited as an organisation that appears competent and knowledgeable of domestic heat pumps and battery storage systems.

Nice people to work with

Nice people to work with. Did a great job specifying and installing our heat pump. Listened to what we wanted and planned a solution to match. Delivered with minimal disruption to our house on time and to spec. Properly experienced engineers who have installed loads of heat pumps and know what they are doing. Delivers everything we expected with no dramas. Can highly recommend.

Friendly, helpful and easy to engage with

The job was completed as planned. The staff at Abacus who arranged the job were friendly, helpful and easy to engage with from the first enquiry through to the end. The engineers were polite and friendly. On the second day, the heating engineer had misplaced his hand tools overnight and so had to go and buy new ones which caused a delay but he worked until the job was completed just before 6pm. He returned the following day because he couldn’t find his drill - which wasn’t here - so I hope he finds his missing tools!

Air Source Heat Pump installation. The entire team from the office to the installation team have been fantastic. Throughout they have had great communication, maintained flexibility (due to my changing availability) and provided an excellent level of customer care. The installation team were prompt, kept my house tidy and thoroughly explained everything before they left. As the installation took 2 days they also worked hard on the first to ensure they left me with hot water overnight, which was appreciated. Whilst there is an aftercare service provided they aren't pushy about it - like some companies can be - which is to their credit. Overall, a painless process (as they also dealt swiftly with all the grant paperwork) by a reliable and friendly team. I'd highly recommend this company to anyone considering changing their system. They also do electric car chargers which they have done for a family member at a reasonable cost, again to a high standard. 🙂

Solar Installation

Very pleased with the solar installation from Abacus Energy Solutions. Following assessment of our requirements date for installation arranged very promptly. Would have been completed in one visit but had to wait for the delivery of one component delayed from the supplier and resolution of issue installing battery in loft. Since commissioning, even in the depths of winter, the panels have seen a marked reduction in our needs for supply from the electric company and we are looking forward to seeing a return from the electricity generated during the sunnier months.

ASHP install

ASHP installed June 2023 along with Solar iBoost and car charger. Revisited several times to check and perform snagging. System is great when paired with PV, much better than a gas combi-boiler and we can make use of cheap night-time electricity from Octopus to charge batteries then use for the heating during the day. They also sorted all paperwork for the government scheme and did an MCS cert for our solar PV so we can now get export payments which is definitely worth it during the summer months. Really glad we chose a local company that want to do a good job for all the right reasons.

I had my air heat exchange system installed by Abacus Energy Solutions four years ago. The company was a delight to deal with, careful today ensure that I understood the system and have been in the ball with servicing and follow up ever since.

Great GSHP Install! We had a GSHP installed by Abacus in October. James and Michael were great. They were happy for me to have the pipe work installed by a mole plow to reduce the disruption to the field resulting in it being back to normal within a few weeks. They both came to do the install and worked with me to find a convenient time as I wanted to be in for the install. They were both very neat and cleared up after themselves every day. They ensured we had heating and hot water every day. They were both happy to stop and explain anything I had questions about every day (I probably added on half a day with all my technical questions!) There pipe work was a work of art. Now the house is more evenly warm than on the oil boiler and currently cheaper to run! My only regret is I got my own plumber in to replace the radiators and I wish I had used abacus instead as they were a world apart! Can highly recommend!

Professional company who do what they say. Excellent service. Were on time and carried out the works very quickly. I have now taken out a service contract with them as they were fantastic. The guys who came to do the job were polite and explained everything. No complaints at all.

We chose Abacus Energy Solutions due to the way they designed a system which we felt was bespoke to our property and our lifestyle. They came strongly reccommended from a number of people in the area, and again each system was slightly different due to the property, location and individual requirements. We are now in our second winter with our ground source heat pump, solar panels with battery storage system and have adapted our energy consumption to fit in with this brilliant system. We had our heat pump installed and central heating system replaced in 2019. James and Michael were brilliant, they guided us through the technicals of the heat pump system and the complexity of the Renewable Heat Incentive. Their effort and investment upfront was in stark contrast to other installers, and once the works began they were quick, tidy and the work was done to such a high quality that other trades working on the house have complimented the pipework and finish. Aftercare has been just as good, with Michael diagnosing potential faults or identifying adjustments to the system remotely before we had even noticed. The product provided (a Nibe F2040 air source heat pump) is really high quality, has a 7 year warranty and easily copes with keeping a 4 bed 1930s semi detached warm, and bills have been as expected when Abacus designed the system. Servicing is straightforward and proactive. Moving away from fossil fuel heating is the future and this has been a great way to do that without compromising or having any nasty surprises. Cannot recommend highly enough
