Applied through energy supplier in March 2024 for the GBIS scheme as would be eligible for cavity wall at a minimum. Initial survey by Octopus was completed (included drilling holes in external walls). Octopus then passed down to Aran Group in June 2024. Since then there has been endless calls and emails to them and eventually got a secondary survey done in September 2025! Further holes drilled into walls as well as window surveys revealed that all works including cavity wall installation would be applicable under the GBIS scheme! No further communication sent despite following up weekly! Eventually got told that it had gone to a Retrofit Department In November 2025 and that we should Here within a week when things will be going ahead. We heard nothing and then chased it again in January 2026! At this point the government website states that all work have to be completed by March 2026, otherwise it will not be eligible under the scheme. Today we got told that due to this deadline the works will not be claimed for and they can no longer proceed, but if you wanted to, we could pay for it. What an absolute joke! I’m so angry at this! To string us along for nearly 2 years, have survey surveys done, pointless drilling into my property! What a total waste of everybody’s time! Thing is, the scheme doesn’t finish for another six weeks and they have already said that they can’t/wont do it, and to look out for other council run schemes in the future (absolute cheek, they have had 21 months to get their act together) Their resolutions coordinator (Jess) has been the only light in this dreadful situation. Avoid this company at all costs. Heed the warnings from other negative reviews on here, in particular to communication. I have worked in customer service for 17 years in the past, and this is without a doubt, the worst company I’ve had the misfortune to deal with!
Aran insulation were working in my street insulating council houses. I did ask for a quote to insulate my house four times, but they never responded. Then they splashed my windows with plaster whilst working on the house next door, I am still waiting for an invoice to be paid for getting the plaster washed off. (3 months later). They never respond and are very impolite.
We used the cosyhomes scheme to get solar panels on our home and the guys doing the work were very good - incredibly respectful of my home, and communicated well what they were doing and how to use the app at the end as well, told me when they would be arriving and were able to answer any questions we had
I applied to the Council's Cosy Home scheme for free loft insulation and cavity wall insulation and was accepted. Aran were brilliant throughout the whole process. It took a couple of months to get booked in after the survey was performed (as expected), and the first guy came out to do my loft insulation. He was a lovely chap and explained everything. They fully insulated it to an excellent standard, and also added new beams and 10m2 of loft boarding, in addition to vents for ventilation in the roof. I also had a guy come out to do some DPC work beside my house (lowering the floor level for drainage) and he was also very friendly and did an excellent job. Finally, when the guys came out to do my cavity wall insulation, again everything was explained thoroughly. They encountered an issue of my neighbours insulation breaching onto my side, but despite this, brought an extraction team around the next morning to remove it and finished off filling the new cavity insulation. They also filled the holes up with mortar afterwards, and the job was left very clean and tidy. Scaffolding was also set up for free under the grant by a third party company. I did have a couple of issues with them, but they resolved any issues/complaints I had through Aran. So I would highly recommend Aran based on the service I have received. It also comes with a 20 year guarantee if anything goes wrong.
Took up Aran on the grant they offered , workmen perfect great bunch , but Aran as a company made a complaint as weren’t happy , Not one member of Aran staff have contacted us to resolve the issue 14 day ago 27th January 2026 , my mum is 84 years old and they have totally ignored us as a customer .
